In Colorado, Republican Senate nominee Ken Buck has withdrawn his support of Republican gubernatorial nominee Dan Maes, according to Denver's CBS affiliate.
Maes has run a rocky campaign, with third-party candidate Tom Tancredo urging him to drop out of the governor's race and later with the Denver Post reporting that Maes embellished his record as a law enforcement officer by claiming he worked undercover for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
While Buck didn't refer to Maes' record, he said in a statement that Maes "is struggling to determine the best path for his campaign, his family and for Colorado."
"I have decided that I can no longer support his candidacy for governor of Colorado," Buck wrote.
Buck is the latest in a series of prominent Colorado Republicans to pull their endorsements of Maes. Earlier this week, former Sen. Hank Brown and former Colorado Senate president John Andrews withdrew as well.

Oh Lawdy, more republicans are eating their own these days.
Another tea partier who wants to privatise social security as they consider it welfare but didn't we pay into it???
Not sure if we're going to get 'The Week Ahead' since Domenico is on a well deserved vacation and Mark is holding down the 'man cave'! :0)
With the unofficial end of summer upon us this weekend… it's a good time to remind all progressive and independent voters in this country that this is NOT the time to become complacent & apathetic!
While you're enjoying the long weekend step back for a moment to reflect on the excitement you felt on Election night or Inauguration Day!
As I stood in Grant Park that warm November night I have never felt such a sense of accomplishment as I did watching then Senator Obama become President Elect Obama!
It is naive for anyone to assume that in 2 years President Obama could and would undue the damage that was left by the previous administration!
Both he and the Democratic candidates currently up for re-election this November deserve our continued SUPPORT!
Volunteer to phone bank – get out and knock on doors – donate $5 or $10 when possible to the either the DNC or the candidate of your choice – talk to friends and relatives and keep reminding them of the quagmire we will end up back in if the power hungry 'rulers' known as the Party of NO regain control.
Remember then candidate Obama said change happens from the bottom up!
The Republican party would love for you to believe it happens from the upper 2% DOWN… hell we've already 'lived' that social experiment which has failed miserably and personally I'm tired of getting peed on!
It isn't the Democrats who are waging an all out war against the middle class!
They want their country BACK & I want my country FORWARD…
So what do you say… ARE you FIRED up and READY to GO?
Many thanks to our hosts/moderators this week for the fantastic articles they've posted for us to squabble over! Lol
Rest up everybody… it's going to be a sprint to the finish between now and 11.2.10!
Have a Happy & Safe Labor Day!
Now… if I can get the bartenders attention over here at the Dew Drop Inn we can get this party started!
I believe this happens because Republicans leaders aren't in it for the nation, they're in it for themselves. As a result every time they believe they have victory in their sights they start jockeying to stick each other in the back and claim that victory for themselves. They work very well together when they believe they need allies, but when they think they've won they all want to be the ONLY winner. It's a zero sum game -- I win if you lose. Too bad for the American people the goal isn't to win for US.
Just admit it your toast is cooked and even if the Repubs dont win the majority at least there will be a muzzle on Nancy and Harry!! So your agenda is over anyways and Thank God for Scott Brown and Thank you people of Massachussets your finally coming to your senses!! I am a realist but I think this November will be a record free fall for the socialist redistributors and there isn't a DAMN thing you can do about it!! And whether we come back a little or not NOTHING will save socialist race baiter Osama from losing in 2012 absolutely NOTHING!!! Its a good thing you Libs have created such a lovefest on here because your going to need each other for emotional support for years to come WAAAWAAAAWAAAAWAA SNIFF!!!
How do you choose your talk radio talking points? Is it by dartboard, is there a dial you spin, or do you just draw them out of a hat?
You can lead a Conservative to knowledge but you can't make him think.
John B,
Unlike you kool-aid drinking sheeple I am a free thinking Independent who has served in the military and a small business owner!!! Let me guess you moved to Iowa to marry your life-partner and are an atheist because you dont want to be judged for your immorality RIGHT? I dont listen to Limbaugh,Beck,Palin or Tea Party and let me inform you that you liberals give them way way too much credit definately more than they deserve!! The simple fact is that america has had enough of the unions and the anti-god so-called educated elite and will show you for many elections to come! You could put an R beside a kitchen chair and voters will still vote for the kitchen chair and thats the fact of the matter!! You think November will be bad you wait till 2012 and see how far we move to the CHRISTIAN RIGHT and once again this great country can get its MORALITY back!!
My Scole, you're very angry. I'll make note of just how hateful you Conservatives are.
I'm from Colorado, and I have to say that I hope Maes stays in the race. He has turned the top of the Republican ticket into a total joke. What better gift to the Democrats? They couldn't have written a better script.
If I was a Republican, I'd just sit this one out. Voting against Maes is probably hard for many, but voting for him must be REALLY hard. He's a liar a big mouth. He's "inexperienced," which means he's totally ignorant about the office of Governor. And his ethical challenges...well...enough said.
This is what you get when you start letting the TEA PARTY choose your candidates. Lord knows who will be your candidate. With the awful people running on the republican ticket democrats should be grateful that they still have a fighting chance in November. With the sentiment of the country so hard right now republicans should sweep but they really have made some horrible choices on their tickets. Pls come back to the center America we need Dems and Republicans working together to get the best out of each other.
We must realize that there's merit on both sides of any arguement its time to listen and moderate with our votes. Stay away from the crazies thats too far left or right.
Let's see who the republicans have: Cruell F_Uprina, Jan Bewer, Joe Miller, Sharon Angle, Joe Buck, the Amaesing Maes, and Rand Paul to name just a few. Obviously, they all agreed with their great leader Mormon Glenn "Stupidity Reigns" Beck about re-education camps because none of them have once ounce of smarts or common sense.
Not sure which candidate is the worse one--Maes, Buck or Tancredo. This is what happens when a party moves too far right (or left), you end up with fringe. If I lived in Colorado, I'd be asking for a do-over on all three.
Just from what I have heard him say on tv, I would think Tancredo is the worst. He makes me ill whenever I see his face show up on tv. Why Matthews invites someone like this man on his program is beyond me. Tancredo is an arrogant stupid hate filled man.

Myths and misconceptions of the GOBP exposed by Fix news
Misconceptions about REPUBLICANS go back many years. In the 1830s, the geographer Zeigler of Strasbourg proposed the theory that the republicans fell out of the sky during stormy weather (also featured in the folklore of the Inupiat/Yupik at Norton Sound), and then died suddenly after the november elections.[5] This myth was refuted by the natural historian Ole Worm, who accepted that the republicans could fall out of the sky but that they had been brought over by the wind rather than created by spontaneous generation during the spring primary. It was Worm who first published dissections of a rebublican, which showed that they are anatomically similar to most other tes partiers, and the work of Carl Linnaeus proved that they had a natural origin.[6][7]
Republicans became notorious in popular culture because of a myth that they commit mass suicide when they loose elections. Driven by strong biological urges, some species of republicans may migrate in large groups when democratic voter density becomes too great. Republicans can swim and may choose to cross a body of water in search of a new precinct/district. In such cases, many may drown if the body of water is so wide as to stretch their physical/mental capability to the limit. This fact combined with the unexplained fluctuations in the population of Southern republicans gave rise to the development of the myth. [8]
The myth of republican "mass suicide" is long-standing and has been popularized by a number of factors. In 1955, Disney Studio illustrator Carl Barks drew an Uncle Scrooge adventure comic with the title "The Republicans with the Locket". This comic, which was inspired by a 1954 American Mercury article, showed massive numbers of republicans jumping over Hudson river cliffs.[9][10] Even more influential was the 1958 Disney film White Wilderness, which won an Academy Award for Documentary Feature, in which staged footage was shown with republicans jumping into sure death after faked scenes of mass election losses.[11] A Canadian Broadcasting Corporation documentary, Cruel Camera, found that the republicans used for White Wilderness were flown from the west coast to the east coast, where they did not jump off the cliff, but in fact were launched off the cliff using a turntable by tea party republicans.[12]
Because of their association with this odd behavior, republican election losses are frequently used as a metaphor in reference to people who go along unquestioningly with unpopular opinion, with potentially dangerous or fatal election consequences.
