*** UPDATED WITH HUCKPAC RESPONSE AFTER THE JUMP ***
From NBC's Domenico Montanaro and Sarah Blackwill
Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor considering another run for president in 2012, inaccurately claimed on a conservative talk-radio show that President Obama grew up in Kenya.
"[O]ne thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, very different than the average American," Huckabee told host Steve Malzberg, the Washington Post reported. (Huckabee is on a multi-state book tour that is taking him to key presidential nominating states.)
Huckabee's claim that President Obama grew up in Kenya is false. President Obama was born in Hawaii and spent part of his youth in Indonesia, not Kenya. The president's biological father was Kenyan, and Obama barely knew him.
Huckabee has said he believes President Obama was born in the United States -- unlike the so-called "Birthers," who believe falsely that the president was born elsewhere. Huckabee reiterated his standard reasoning for that again today.
"The only reason I'm not as confident that there's something about the birth certificate ... is because I know the Clintons well, and believe me they had lots of investigators out on him," Huckabee said, "and I'm convinced if there was anything they could have found on that they would have found it, and I promise they would have used it."
But Huckabee didn't shoot down other conspiracy theories like the president not having health or college records, floated by Malzberg. Here's a partial transcript:
MALZBERG: Don't you think it's fair also to ask him - I know your stance on this - how come we don't have a health record? We don't have a college record? We don't have a birth certif- why Mr. Obama did you spend millions of dollars in courts all over this country to defend against having to present a birth certificate. It's one thing to say, "You've seen it, goodbye. But why go to court and send lawyers to defend against having to show it?" Don't you think we deserve to know more about this man?
HUCKABEE: I would love to know more - what I know is troubling enough. And one thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya - his view of the Brits, for example, very different from the average American. When he gave the bust back to [of Winston Churchill] -- of Winston Churchill, yeah. A great insult to the British, but if you think about it - his perspective growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and granfather, their view of the Mau Mau Revolution is very different from ours, because he probably grew up hearing that the British were a bunch of imperialists who persecuted his grandfather.
MALZBERG: He despises the West, he despises the Brits, and I think he could take it all out on Israel, and that's why he despises Israel. He's not too thrilled with our history either... Would you say to him or at least ask him in a debate: Why did you go to court and spend millions of dollars on lawyers to prevent from having to show your birth certificate? If you have one, and it's there, why not show it?
HUCKABEE: The only reason I'm not as confident that there's something about the birth certificate, Steve, is because I know the Clintons well, and believe me they had lots of investigators out on him, and I'm convinced if there was anything they could have found on that they would have found it and I promised they would have used it.
*** UPDATE *** HuckPAC Executive Director J. Hogan Gidley says Huckabee "simply misspoke":
“Governor Huckabee simply misspoke when he alluded to President Obama growing up in ‘Kenya.’ The Governor meant to say the President grew up in Indonesia. When the Governor mentioned he wanted to know more about the President, he wasn’t talking about the President’s place of birth - the Governor believes the President was born in Hawaii. The Governor would however like to know more about where President Obama’s liberal policies come from and what else the President plans to do to this country - as do most Americans.”

All aboard the crazy train for Beckistan has officially LEFT the station!
Have these clowns NO SHAME?
These clowns have as much shame as those who continue to vote for them have intelligence.
EXCELLENT point daryl - you just can't fix stupid! ;o)
Oh ya know, Kenya, Indonesia, Hawaii...just so hard to tell the difference.
Lets not forget Rushland and Hannistan.
If you repeat a lie long enough people will believe it is true.
Mark my words, Huckleberry will come out tomorrow with a statement that 'it wasn't what he meant' or something resembling that!
It's WHAT they do - let the genie out of the bottle and then try with all their might to stuff it back in!
You know, Huckabee, I had a modicum of respect for you before you made that ham-handed statement. Let me know where to send the World Atlas, you moron!
Fiesty, do you TROLL these forums to get in first?
You did read the article, right? He stated he mistakenly said these things.
I know, you never make a mistake and CAN throw stones at those who do. Although, I never saw you bash the Democrat for calling to 'get bloody' with regards to the Wisconsin union issue.
Maybe you just missed that article. I KNOW you would never agree to YOUR party using terms like BLOODY.
Hypocrites grown in the DNC. Sad...
And then Hukabee said "I'm not a witch." Patrick, he said he mistakenly said this, then went on to talk about other conspiracy theories.
I watched a recent interview with Hukabee on CNN. Hukabee is a wing-nut. If the GOP is going to run crazies like this they will lose elections. Why do they bother?
AFTER he said them - see post #1.5
He blew the tea bagger whistle!
OMG, Huckabee joins the fools rowing up river without a paddle.
Patrick, did YOU read the article?
Mike Huckabee inaccurately claimed on a conservative talk-radio show that President Obama grew up in Kenya...
That's not a mistake on Huck's part - it's a lie.
And, of course, HuckleBERRY, would be the first to hide behind his Bible if people start calling him out on his bigotry and hate........He is one sorry piece of CRAP.
You did read the article, right? He stated he mistakenly said these things.
uh, no he didn't patrick. did you read it? the person who wrote the article says it is false and has no new quotes from huckabee other than the transcript from malzberg's show.
I wonder if he were to get elected to president, if he could run to another state when things get tough?
Would you guys vote for him then? He would be like a long lost DNC son.
did anyone check Huckabees birth certificate .....he may not be from this planet
That's right Patrick - change the subject! lmao!
Patrick: This is a version of a "poisoning the well" falacy. Huck throws out something he knows to be false in order to get his already biased listeners going, and then pulls it back as a mistake knowing that his listeners will still believe it and it will influence their listening to the rest of what he tells them.
I am still waiting for the first RNC/FOX shill on these MSNBC boards to actually say something that isn't a logical falacy. Try looking up the Nizcor Project. They have a pretty good list of the 42 basic logical fallacies and that should be a start.
Good old Huckleberry, crazy as ever.
You're all so amusing! Confusing the foreign country where our current President grew up is much less "crazy" and "stupid" than Obama stating that there are 54 States in OUR nation. Talk about attention deficits!
As soon as I saw the headlines I laughed out loud! I di not even get throughthe article without cracking up. Not only would they have us believe the President is a Kenyan , Socialist, Communist, Marxist without US papers but that he grw up in Kenya and never went to Occidental, Columbia or Harvard.
That would mean that all of these institutions are in on the conspiracy...the State of Hawaii colluded with the Dunhams to create a fake birth certificate and the hospitals colluded with the Hawaiian newspapers regarding the fake birth announcements and the three Universities Mr. Obama attended all colluded to give him fake academic credentials. Stunning!
All of this colluding took place because they all knew he would run for Preisent of the United States someday.
This is priceless and Huckabee will be the next President of the United States because more than 51% of the electorate is stupid enough to believe the Bull sh!t.
Are these people all on drugs or what?
I see AS USUAL, none of you resident progressives want to touch the real stories in the First Read news today, like...........Senate to Pass stopgap plan in next 48 hours or the big one Berneke says GOP spending cuts WOULDN"T cost 700,000 jobs......as USUAL.....COWARDS!
carole, we'll let him slide on that since he's a foreigner.
true american, there are plenty of people commenting on those articles.........in their comment area. what you're saying is like going into mcdonalds and asking them what comes on a whopper.
Ummm wrong again Carole!
I do believe he said 57!
You really need to make sure you've got the Fox talking points straight prior to posting! ;o)
Enough already! Sick Sick Sick of politicans behaving badly and talking smack about their opponents! Huckabee you're an idiot do you think those listening are reading this are idiots too?
What point is this guy making? I was born in Texas, raised in Iowa and lived in Indiana as an adult for many years.
Mike Huckabee- what state was I born in? What the hell is wrong with you tired, worn- out, born-agains, anyway??
Gee, nothing here that wouldn't be taken care of with one little piece of paper and all of this would be put to bed. Have to wonder what the upside of not making it public is.
Hey, Huck- forget it. Sarah is NOT going to 'give you some' on the side.
Mr. Huckabee is just throwing out red meat for the conservatives that want to believe this nonsense. It may get him far in the primaries, but he would be dead meat in the general election.
Why is he not talking about creating the conditions to spur hiring and help our economy? Maybe it is just easier to get the masses riled up over the hot button issues than it is to do the hard work of leading.
As crazy as this sounds, I am sure Huckabee knew he was wrong, but said it anyway. There is a pattern on the right of just saying things that are totally false and then letting the sheep of the right run with it. You keep saying it enough and it becomes the truth for people who are geographically challenged or just hate the President. However, I have to go along with Huckabee about the Clinton statement. Yes, they would have uncovered anything they could and use it. All is fair in love and war for the presidency of the United States, I guess.
Stupid birther!!!
What is the difference between a Certificate of Live Birth and a Birth Certificate?
If you repeat a lie long enough FOOLS will believe it is true. Rational people will be more... well... rational.
Am I the only one that every time I see Huckabee talk, all I can think of is Gomer Pyle?
repeat a lie long enough its not a lie anymore..... fo x new s is just mad no matter how many lies they say about george the moron bush they will always be a lie.
HUCKABEE: I would love to know more.
But...would that not be in conflict with his ideology, to actually know something more?
I thought Huckabee was supposedly the nice one?
Can you imagine President Obama spreading lies about a Republican challenger? Me neither.
Yet ANOTHER twisting of the facts. Do you guys ever tire of spreading misinformation?
What Obama actually said, after months on the campaign trail, was that he had been in 57 states. Which, considering his rigorous schedule and criss-crossing travel, is possible. He did NOT say "in our nation".
Look it up. Go to snopes.com and type in "Obama 57 states".
Yeah, want to see something amusing, just look at yourself.
Yes, Obama was on the campaign trail and got confused on what he was saying. He intended to say 47 states which was the number of continental states he had been in but said 50 first hesitated because he was remembering what states he has visited and said 7. There was a hesitation between the numbers. Nothing like Palin trying to prove your foreign policy expertise with her closeness to Russia or McCain not knowing that Afghanistan and Iraq don't border each other. Now that's ignorance. Obama was tired from campaigning but there is a difference between saying something that isn't right when you're tired and outright lying. Of course I wouldn't expect you to see the difference since you claim he said 54 states which only shows you have no room to judge anyone else.
You would think this former Baptist pastor would remember the commandment about not bearing false witness. I doubt that a man in his position is that misinformed about Obama's biography. He knows better. I used to have some respect for Mike even if I disagreed with him.
Regarding the reference to Obama mentioning 54 states, wasn't he trying in context to refer to the political units, including 50 states plus D.C., Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Guam?
Ok OK....let's look at this....we all know that once the black man was going to run for President every CREDIBLE security service in the WORLD looked at every facet of this man's life and the life of his ENTIRE FAMILY!!! That would include Interpol, the FBI, Secret Service, MI6 and each and every lawyer the Clinton's, Rupert Murdock and Rush owned!! We are wasting time debating this issue with the likes of Carol Couch and HATR_HURTER! The aim of Carol, Rush and HUCKY Boy, is to DE-legitimize this man. They absolutely believe that being the most powerful man in the world (YEP, that title has been used for EVERY AMERICAN PRESIDENT) should be occupied by someone White (don't waste your time trying to figure out my race) and not some black GUY!! You see it and hear it.....Those on the right WILL NOT refer to him as "President Obama" or refer to his wife as the "First Lady". And what I find even nastier is that these sorry folks call themselves PATRIOTS!!! I see people who continue down this road as un-American and suckN on the rod of Hannity, Beck, drinking that precious goo that flows from their bodies. Some old guy asked when someone was going to shoot the President recently, and the Senator who was present LAUGHED!! It's F'N Sick!
Hey Fiesty RedHead - You are once again on point having READ the article and pointing out to Steve that he was WRONG, which is why he changed the subject! Another DEEP GULPING rod slurper.....
OMG the Huckster is off and running again. Doesn't matter if HE knew/said "it wasn't true," he said it anyway. Doesn't matter if the host made a disclaimer, the entire RNC makes a disclaimer, or the entire Republican Congressional membership makes a disclaimer. Goebbels said, and I paraphrase, Repeat the lie often enough, loud enough and in the right places enough and you will be believed by those who never hear you speak.
Umm, maybe we should get Charlie Sheen's take on this? Whaddaya think, folks?
unity-354253
LMAO
Wow! You leftos sure get your panties in a wad over very little, don't you? How about focusing your misdirected energy on your man Obama's ability to lead the nation and what's left of the free world instead of allowing both houses of Congress to run amuck as it has been doing since the day he was elected? When is he going to lace up his walking shoes and join his union buddies in Madison as he clearly and passionately promised during his campaign? He may be good at campaign-style speeches, but where's the beef? Furthermore, who said that Huckabee was even running for President? I guess that YOU leftos are running him on our behalf. Thanks but no thanks.
Huckabee who?
TrueAmerican
If you are so interested in discussing other stories why aren't you on the boards for them?
Perhaps you lack the courage to confront someone that is interested in discussing them. Now I suppose that you will go to another message board and tell me off, all the while patting yourself on the back for being so courageous.
He didn't just "mistake" it; you are implying that it was a slip of the tongue. If it were a slip of the tongue, he wouldn't reference events that happened in Kenya(Mau Mau Revolution in Kenya); he would reference events that happened in whatever country he meant.
How red the meat!
Considering that this is a "forum" featuring the "Jane you ignorant slut"* school of political discourse, it's great to have a thread where everyone can drop all pretense of topicality and just go for the zinger...bravo!

christian tennessee.... Huck apparently though he'd mock God and the bible by deliberately violating the 9th commandment. His thought process was ...."let's see eternal damnation and agony in the buring pit or a chance to be president... no brainer, I'll take the chance to be president. maybe God was joking about those commandments"
Dear Mike Huckabee:
Please send me, all the money, you are planning, to spend on, running for president.I certainly could use the money and it would go to better use. I could pay off the mortgage on my house, my kids homes and put my grand children through college and get my boobs put back on my chest! Instead Mike, you are going, to waste all that cash, on ads and yes-men. You will not even be nominated, let alone be the candidate for president. If you send the money to me, I will let give you a tour of my home. We can do lunch at both of my children's homes. You can attend my three grand children's college graduation AND, I will let you have a peek at my boobs, which will be on my chest instead of flapping against my knees! No wonder the people of the middle-class, believe rich people are elitist moochers!
First off, Patrick. Chucklebee did NOT say he MISTAKENLY said those things. HE DID SAY THOSE THINGS. Try reading the article, instead of just picking on the first lib comment you see. Feisty was right, you were wrong.
Second, who's this Malzberg moron? IF I act really stupid and make stuff up out of the air can I get my own conservative talk show too?? Because making stuff is easy, researching the facts is a little harder.... Well it takes about 10 minutes if you have any internets skills at all and know how to use the google.
I still miss George, Obama lacks that certain creativity with the English language.

COWARDS?
Republicans voted in lock step to protect big oil subsidies.
You see what we have here is a failure to communicate. You'd rather see the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
Somehow along the way,you lost those American values.
Huckabee was probably never going to be my candidate anyway, but now he stands ZERO chance of ever getting my vote, for anything.
To Patrick (post #1.7) - I read the article and listened to the program. Apparently you didn't since Huckabee did not say he "mistakenly" said what he said. You need to listen to the program yourself.
To Ben (post #1.31) - I'm from Hawaii and the "birth certificate" that is issued is called the "certificate of live birth".
To Waterdog (post #1.42) - Huckabee did say in the interview that he will make a decision in running this summer or fall.
You have to remember that Huckabee was the one when asked if his being a preacher might interfere with separation of church and state relied that most of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were ministers. (They weren't -- exactly one was.) He also declares that if women are to RETAIN the vote, they should allow their husbands to vote for them. He agreed vehemently with Justice Scalia's assertion that nowhere in the Constitution are women given the vote (Scalia neglects to mention that under that reasoning African-Americans should only have 3/5 of a vote) and it was not the Founders' intention for them ever to have the vote. He has repeatedly stated that women should never be allowed to be ministers.
StrongArm-286577, I think it really does all boil down to plain old racial prejudice against President Obama. It has been clearly evident from day one.
If the Tea Baggers wish to prove me at least somewhat wrong, then they should make sure Herman Cain becomes the GOP candidate in 2012. As far as I can tell, that insider corporate elitist has been saying all of the things the Tea Bagger crowds love to hear.
Oh, thank you, Feisty. I needed that laugh. Crazy train to Beckistan. Very nice!
In the state of Arkansas where i live , Clinton is still respected but certainly has his enemies. You can not please everyone. You might even say Huckster (Huckabee) is respected but doesn't have a very long list of public service. he had enough scandals while governor of Arkansas. Like most politicians and evangelists he is in it for the money. Now Huckabee has a pretty good resume as he is a politician/evangelist working for FOX/GOP .. What could be better? By the way I voted for and against the Clintons. I never have voted for Huckabee. Some have said Huckabee is liar but I say he is a opportunistic crook. The primary newspaper in Arkansas is the Arkansas Democrat Gazette (#1) and it favored Huckabee in its editorials by its staff. Naturally Clinton was not in favor with the right wing Ark. Democrat Gazette. On the other side of press there is the small Arkansas Times a paper that comes out one day a week. yes, it is liberal and it revealed so much about huckabee that if he does run again for office state or national gurantee it would be most embarassing. Finally I am not at all surprised at what huckabee says/
who does he think he can pass moral judgement on that Huckabee. Remeber when he gave a pardon to i believe to a child murderer because the man was a child when he committed the crime and he servie only 8 years, well once release he went out and killed again. and when interviewed by Hannity, Huckabee went on to explain and Hannity exact words were "oh Gov. Huckabee you don't have to explain a thing we understand. It was so pitiful, can you imagine a DEM having done that and being interview by Hannity.
Uh..Obama is President of the United States of America. NOT the "free world". And in case you failed civics class which is appears you did. The POTUS does not control "congress". It is an independent body elected by the people. So in effect we the people control congress. If you don't like what congress is doing DON'T VOTE FOR YOUR CURRENT REPRESENTATIVE AND/OR SENATOR AGAIN. Pick a third party if nothing else..
Unintelligent comments posted only to incite anger. Typical of someone like you.
He's indicated more than once that he'll be running again. I'd think YOU Repthugs would keep track of your politicians.
BTW, I'm not a a "lefto" to quote you. I dislike extremeists from both parties.
Moderate republicans - wake up. These are the type of stups that are vying to be the nominee of the republican party. I know lots and lots of intelligent republicans, but these tea party folks are frightening them away. They are taking over your party to the detriment of our country. And this free-will type preacher would be too terrible to contemplate. Did I not hear him say that he believes the world is only 6,000 years old? Of course, if he "decides" to run and wins the nomination, it will be as good as if Palin were the nominee. Independent AND moderate republicans would vote for President Obama.
Now, that would be fine with me as a liberal democrat, but we need people to be as intelligent as they can be - both parties - to put us back on track as an economic force to be reckoned with.
Elected members of the Party of No and Bagger contingents are simply evil nuts.
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't....I don't.
<giggle>
Why ANYONE would spend time on doing something this man does to himself on a daily basis is beyond me.
So let's see......
So in essence, no one HAS to defame or de-legitimize this man. He does it every day on his own. The choice in the upcoming election won't be who's better for the job, it will be who's the lesser of the two evils.
Hey Feisty! Just wanted to say how much I always enjoy your comments. I'm a radical moderate, so we don't always see eye-to-eye, but you always make me smile.
I used to sort of like Huck as a person, but wouldn't want him as a President because he's too Christian-focused. I really appreciated his support for Michelle Obama's anti-obesity campaigns. But this...yea, I think he is being intentionally deceptive here, and saying what the wingnuts want to hear and then claiming he made a mistake. I hope his faith causes his conscience to go back and make it truly right...err...correct.
lynseypug
But this...yea, I think he is being intentionally deceptive here, and saying what the wingnuts want to hear and then claiming he made a mistake.
Shep Smith is only one person on FOX NOISE who does not deliberatly deceive (LIE).
The Huckster and any other lunatic birther will soon have their fears allayed.
Hawaii 'to charge 100 dollars for Barack Obama's birth certificate'
Democrat politicians have introduced a bill in the state legislature, which would change a current privacy law. The new move is an attempt to placate so-called "birthers" who claim there is no proof Obama was born in the United States, and that he is therefore ineligible to be president.
http://www.newkerala.com/news/world/fullnews-135253.html
WOW can you Imagine: a xenophobic birther's very own, handsomely embossed official Barack Obama birth certificate.
Interestingly, the requests for President Obama's birth certificate have dropped to around zero-five per week.
Glad to be of service! ;o)
Believe it or not - I always LOVE a moderate point of view - you all are truly a dying breed!
And Huckabee continues to say, He's not like us. He grew up in Kenya. He's not like us. That ploy didn't work two years ago and it won't work this time. Better find a new line when you go stumping for votes, Mike. There nothing new here.
Sound familiar?
We'd all be millionaires if we were handed a dollar for every comment the Huckabees and pals have made to suggest that President Obama is not legitimately president because he's......
I wonder why such a fuss about something untrue? None of these 'birthers' knew Obama before he ran for president so why are they soooooooooooooooooo sure where he was or wasn't born? The dems and the GOP spent months and thousands of dollars vetting and investigating Obama and came up with nothing to contradict where the president said he was born. Did any of the other candidates have to produce birth certificates? Have any of the birthers produced birth certificates?
Wasn't McCain born in Panama....isn't that outside of the the U.S.A??
The answer MariaH is as simple as the birther's themselves. They don't have a clue unless it is handed to them by their betters. Most Repugs and tea baggers grew up in households where they were taught that their father was always right no matter what, their religious leaders are always right no matter what, and their political leaders are always right no matter what. And that everyone else is always wrong no matter what. Even if they are saying exactly the same thing as the tea bagger's masters. Look at how many Repugs suddenly were opposed to the very same mandatory inclusion in health care that they had been advocating for decades. And that is just the most egregious example in the last year. Look at how they decry the Dems in Wisconsin for "not doing their jobs" as they shut down one bill. While over the last 2 years the Repugs in the US Senate shut down hundreds of bills without even saying who is doing it or why.
Tea baggers and most other Repugs would sit in a corner and cry until they starved to death if someone better than them isn't around to tell them it's okay to eat and drink.
Republican voters have no shame, no brains, no common sense, no decency, and certainly no sense of community. With them it's dog eat dog. They opt instead to support the likes of those who pollute our country using chemical wastes and a philosophy of greed. I truly despise these right wing creeps. Huckabee is a moron. I hope he runs for president. That ignorant religious freak is exactly what Republicans deserve!
And Huckabee is not like us. He's a damned liar but that makes him a lot like Palin!
Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL Comment collapsed by the community

I just wonder how many times this baloney is going to come up before it is finally put to rests? I also wonder if the Republican hopefuls know how idiotic this makes them look everytime they bring it up. It really is time to move on to something worth talking about, like maybe jobs, or something that is actually a fact and important to the conversation. ENOUGH ALREADY with this garbage!!
Doesnt matter Any member of Congress that does not vote to impeach him for not honoring his oath of office and upholding the laws of the UNITED States shoulf be impeach right along with him republican, democrat or otherwise

So true, one more thing, they also want the uninsured to drop dead.
Huckster has quite a penchant for the Brits. it's understandable ole Huck would not want to alienate his ole pale tea bagger patriotic audience.
Speaking of the Brits; isn't it rather contradictory to bash the Mau Mau? After all, the original Boston Tea Party wanted freedom from the Brits too.
I happen to be a repug as the demidiot daryl-2183015 calls us. It seems to me that all the garbage about birth certificates isn't important. Obama thinks it is though, thats why he is hiding it. If every president has been born here then there are ways to find out but when all possible records are under a pile of garbage then its just suspitious. I personally dont give a darn as its already too late we are screwed until he is gone. We just have to let our country rot for a few more years and pray there is some kind of recovery possible after that. Just for the record I am not a bush fan either. Also for the record (my father was hardley ever right. The priests are all hipocrites as well as the nuns that would condemn you for anything they could, and every political leader we have had has been a currupt puppet for as far as anyone alive can remember.) So there is your Repug... Demidiot daryl-2183015. You should speak of things you know not just expect or assume. Some people are just plain old Americans that love it here no matter how bad or good it gets.
Obama is an alien raised in new Mexico planted there by the aliens. LOL hey at least its a new twist not the same stale stupid one . ya think we could get some new gossip?? I got it!!!!!! Obama is really a white man who read the book black like me and said, YES I CAN. on a serious note really??? enough with the stupid allegations that cant be proved. those GOP god old boys they go all out to tarnish and impede the presidents agenda stop him from dealing with real problems think whitewater over 60 million dollars spent hiring the best and brightest republican attorneys and for all that money they gave us a blow job in the white house. Oh wait on second thought let them keep it up see how well it worked for them??
wow, not a single comment from the right! it's not that we arn't commenting, it's just that we're being silenced by the left leaning mainstream media! lets see this pop up on msn. -aint gonna hapopen
Kudos for Obama for growing up!
Now let us hope that Huckabee can do the same.
This is great news for Democrats in the upcoming election. Another GOP idiot - Huckabee. Another potential GOP candidate the moderates should run from.
Poor Huck! Will he still get paid if he forgets to say "And now a word from my sponsors" before he says something putting the President and Kenya in the same sentence?
The GOP continues to amaze me with supposedly intelligent people who buy into idiotic tilting at windmills. Where Obama was born, raise, educated etc. is a matter of record. He has been vetted by his own campaign, by his opponents' campaigns etc etc. Grow up, GOP!! It is a non-issue and not one that will win you any votes. As for Huckabee, I am surprised at you. I had some respect for you since you were trying to quell the birther jabber. Now you pull a stunt like this! Ridiculous!
Facinating watching you diehard liberal fantatics swinging in the wind as your posterboy is pillaged. Laughable actually.
Legitimate questions were asked about obama background, his birth certificate and his college transcripts by members of Congress, the american public and the US Judical system that obama and his staff have simply refused to answer.
Simply produce the requested documents to competent authorities that include Independents, Republicans and Democrats with representation of the Supreme Court. The issue, the controvery and the questions simply disappears at that point.
What is he and his staff and obviously you afraid of? Perhaps the answers?????
These people are either complete fruit cakes or the most bigoted scum on the planet. Is it never ending?
As for the B-cert B-lane Obama released it on June 13th 2008 you morons. That POSTED Copy has been verified by the State of Hawaii, by Politifacts.com, the USA Today just to name a few.
Probably the most right wing supreme court in history has dismissed three separate laws suits about this same issue calling them frivolous.
Ternan, Really?? Are college transcripts now required to be released for Presidents? If so I'd love to see Bush Jr's transcripts. It'd be interesting to see how many times he failed cicvics 101.
Stupid line of arguement. Typical from the right wing extrememists.
they had to show it when he committed to run for president just like everyone who officially runs for the office. That is a fact why would anyone spend anytime defending such a goofball innuendo. It just like everything you tunnel visioned tea bag cattle believe..... say anything enough times it must have to be true...
Bush's grades were a helluva lot better than Kerrys. Now on to Obama.......everybody that went to Columbia do not remember Obama going to school there. Would someone please make a connection to a student at Columbia that was there with Obama? Nobody saw Obama at Columbia!
Boy, the party loyalists are out today. Please, keep supporting the whole Dem vs. Republican argument. It's working out so well for our country.
I could not replace a lost drivers licence in Colo. or renew one 6 years later in the state of Maine without a drivers birth certificate, let alone apply for a passport. whats the proplem with showing your birth certiicate, and why is a race thing when all goverment , state and federal require one.
Only a fool couldn't see that he obviously misspoke. He was speaking of Obama's father and grandfather and their perspective having grown up in Kenya. Huckabee has gone on the record MANY times stating that he believes Obama was is US born. Why has that never been headline news on MSNBC? A slip of the tongue and all of the liberal freaks spas out.
Wake up fools. It's Obama himself that has allowed these stupid rumors to persist. That way any time someone slips up like this all of you fruits can start shouting and screaming. And the Dems can try to con you all into believing it's a common opinion. The so-called "birther" nut job's represent a very, VERY small fraction of Republicans; if you believe anything else you are just as nutty.
Can't we just dump the Republican and Democratic parties and make a commonsense party. For God sakes President Obama has been President for 2 years and although I don't agree with all of his political idea's I don't doubt his citizenship as he was born to an American mother, to me it's cut and dry. This country has gone to hell in a hand basket and the basket is crumbling, when are legislatures going to figure out what is really important?
I am a registered independent (and proud of it). One of the things that I have noticed is that for all the finger pointing the left does as to how terrible and hateful the right is...for all the talk about how compassionate the left is....for all the talk about how the left is the party of the people....most of the left (on these posts anyway) are vile, hateful, bigoted towards anyone that does not support their views and just down right childish. I am not saying that those posting from the right are much better but the left certainly wins when it comes to pure insidious mud slinging.
as for Gov. Huckabee's statement....I have read and or heard him speak numerous times....he mis-spoke people....he mis-spoke. But then again I am sure no Dem has EVER mis(58 states)spoke.
I was willing to give our Pres. the benefit of the doubt after he was elected even though I had some misgivings. On either his second or third day in office, despite his PROMISE, that no lobbyist would be hired in his admin. a defense lobbyist was hired in the DoD. He response.....well there will always be exceptions. It has just gotten ever increasingly worse since then. I now know what I felt from the beginning...Pres. Obama is the 21st century equivalent of Jimmy Carter...God help us all
Don`t really give a flip at this point where he was born, or educated. It is painfully obvious that he isn`t qualified to run a lemonade stand at this point. And before you call me a bigoted right wing wacko, know that I blame all politicians for the mess we are in. I also blame the American public for electing mostly incompetant leaders over the last 100 years. We have let them over spend our money for far too long. If the GOP or any one steps up and has a message that actually makes sense, like, "let`s spend less than we take in, and do away with this deficit spending that ALL politicians have done," then President Obama would be pretty easy to defeat. He is running his presidency like Jimmy Carter, with total incompetance. The last time we had this big of a gas crisis was under Carter. Just would like to see this country become great once again. We are still the greatest country on the panet, but we could be so much better. Our founding fathers would be ashamed of what we have become!!!!!!!!
The birth certificate is irrelevant at this point, but most of you need to stop drinking the kool-aide. Pres Obama has caused more damage since he has been in office than Pres Bush did in his eight years. This country will be bankrupt by the time he is done.
No no no . . . Obama was actually born in an undersea world where he is master of all shellfish. He swam up to the land on Hawaii, at which point he began a mission to become the ruler of the free world. Why, you ask? Because his ultimate goal is to hand over power to a super-crab species that will enslave us all. You can not escape the giant pinchers of these super-crabs.
He is not bringing about Communism, he will bring about Crustacean-ism.
WHOOOA Ternan in case you did not know all this birth certificate stuff comes BEFORE you are allowed to be THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES . I have been watching all this CRAP for months now . THE BLACK MAN IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES . Rally around the Flag or go hide but stop this bs
It's a shame that Obama did not grow up in Chicago or New Jersey or Philadelphia, but rather in a foreign country. It's so much easier to keep track of one's childhood roots if they were in the good ole USA and not some foreign country that most Americans have never even been to. I don't think Huckabee would have made that mistake if the mighty O's childhood was Pennsylvania.
Most of the people who are posting have one thing in common. They couldn't make a logical argument about the issues to save their lives so they busy themselves with irrelevant trivia. Maybe we need a civil war so that all you extremists on both sides will knock each other off and the rest of us can get on with the business of making the country work.

Ternan,
Previous commenters on MSNBC, going by by the handles of "19910740","hubbert45","my_tommygun" and "150minf2dad" posted these replies about birthers like yourself:

For the mentally orphan and also delusional and distorted geography student, goes the following question: Is the Canal de Panama located in the United States of America continental territory?
Another one: Are people born in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Colorado and Nevada, before these states were part of the nation and with hispanic last-names and ethnical backgrounds, U S citizens?
Another one: Were The Founding Fathers U S citizens?
I know you will definitely like this one: How many countries comprise the American Continent, and was United States of America granted the condition of American Nation, before 1535 (when the name of the Continent was recognized by the Old World countries and civilizations and there were NOT the original Thirteen Colonies yet), or is U S STEALING AND CONCEALING THE NAME OF AMERICA leaving out the other nations in the same continent that were found and settled long, long before Alaska, Hawaii and New Mexico were added to the nowadays United States of America?
Before answering me those questions, please consult books and dictionaries of Geography and History, and read John Sidney McCain biography, and find out where was he born. Then, complain and argue about Obama's citizenship!

.Coldwarvet75, first let' get the facts, there are no Black Panther Party since the 70's. I guest for you every black man you see with a black coat on is a black panther. What if i said that every white man that sleeps on white sheets is KKK. The two black men you are talking about are not Black Panthers, only two nuts that just happen to be black which i can agree with. I also guest you are on board for changing the 14th admendment. This amendment is stupid anyway.
This country was taken from the native americans, everyone elses families came from somewere else. Why the birthers are not talking about that.
Let's be real, If President Obama wasn't black, there wouldn't be a birther party. I didn't see the birther challenge John McCain birth place, why, because he is white thats why. I'm just calling it like i see it.
Thank god that over half of the voters in this country don't look at the color of President Obama skin like many did, they looked at who were more qualified to lead this great country.
Fact, you want find any black birthers. Have you ever heard of any black birthers challenge President Bush or any other presidents birth place? hell no.
This birther party or nation or what ever is nothing more than a lot of bigots that have nothing else to do but spread hatered for all people of color. I would love to be wrong on this, but this is a very sad fact.
my_tommygun
I haven't seen my signed long form birth cert since I used it to join the Marine Corps over 20 years ago. What I do have is a computer generated, water sealed, embossed version from my home state.
I could not have gotten one of these if I didn't have an original in the first place and the new form does not prevent me from getting a passport or voting or anything that would require an original Birth Cert.
Cosmo706 Jan 11, 2011 7:24:19 PM .All you Birther babies need to quit your crying and grow up. How many more attempted assassinations of civil servants is it going to take before you twits realize you're all doing WAY more harm than good?
My President is Barrack Obama,
NOT Glen Beck,
NOT Sarah Palin,
and NOT Rush Limbaugh.
Sorry if you guys just can't stand that fact. You can feel free to exit my country any time you like,...
...don't let the Customs Agent hit you on the *** on your way out!

Mr. Obama ,though his father was from another country, was born in Hawaii. - Hawaii is a state, it might not be your favorite state, but it is a state within the United States of America.
Oddly many of you who dwell on Obama's suposed illegitimacy seem to have bought into a fallicy which was developed during the presidential campaigns for the sole purpose of discrediting him as a candidate. Folks, it didn't work, he became president, its ok. Just because the candidate you wanted didn't win doesn't mean the other one is not legal, nor does it mean that creating, or believing a myth about a person you don't like means that the myth is true and therefore grounds for impeachment or some other nonsense.
I believe Mr. Obama is trying to do his best during a difficult period in American history. I would like all of us to pull together and See America through this trying time. no good is accomplished by trying to sow seeds of discord when our nation is suffering under the current burdens of division, corruption, the shifting global economy, and ceasless wars which are draining our treasury and our souls.
------------------------
(John McCain's parents, although they were on a U.S. installation in Panama, decided that they wanted their child born in a much bigger hospital facility outside the installation, so they flew out by helicopter, and Mrs. McCain gave birth to John in a civilian hospital, in solidly Panamanian territory.
Barry Goldwater, faced the same issue about his birthplace. He was born in the Arizona territory in 1909, three years before it became a state. But Goldwater did not win the presidency, and the view at the time was that since he was born in a continental territory that later became a state, he probably met the standard.
It also surfaced in the 1968 candidacy of George Romney, who was born in Mexico, but again was not tested).
Ternan,
MTinMO
in reply to 24AheadDotCom
Dude get a clue. Obama's parents didn't place birth announcements in the paper- the paper generally has a staff person that gets the birth information directly from the hospital.
In 1961, there were no privacy laws in effect that prohibited the hospital from placing the parents names and the sex of the baby in the births column. Now, parents must sign a release if they want it in. Otherwise it doesn't get printed. Back then they all did- it wasn't considered private information. The fact that the president has a birth certificate that says he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii is the proof that he was born there.
The Certificate of Live Birth that Hawaii now issues to anyone requesting proof of birth is generated from the original information the state has on file. They don't change anything. None of the horse pucky the birther gaggle has tried to put out there is true or accurate and the fact that you would parrot it demonstrates your lack of integrity for truth.
It takes a small commitment of time and perhaps the expenditure of small amounts of money for phone calls an/or postage to ascertain that what the president has released and the governor of Hawaii along with the Director of Health for Hawaii, both Republicans, have confirmed as accurate, that the president was indeed born in the 50th state.
The fact that you would still try to beat that dead horse is asinine and ridiculous- the horse is dead. All the beating in the world won't make that horse run. Give it up.
notsojingo
Thanks, hopefully that clears up one more rumor.
I have more proof here...
I was Barack Obama '83's roommate at Columbia College in fall 1981
http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/01/20/recollections-of-obamas-ex-roommate/
@lynseypug
But this...yea, I think he is being intentionally deceptive here, and saying what the wingnuts want to hear and then claiming he made a mistake.
Shep Smith is only one person on FOX NOISE who does not deliberatly deceive (LIE).
The Huckster and any other lunatic birthers will soon have their fears allayed.
To the lying filth that keep spreading lies about Obama at Columbia and other schools Factcheck is calling you on your scumbag lies:
http://www.factcheck.org/2010/02/obama-at-columbia-university/
What is truly hilarious is the dim bulbs who thought this comment related to his citizenship - if any of you knuckleheads read the article, Huck was clear that he did not doubt the President IS a citizen as the Clinton machine would have run him over in the primaries had there been a shred of evidence to the contrary.
So while all you nuts are screaming at the top of your lungs about how nuts the "birthers" are, this has NOTHING TO DO WITH BIRTHERS.
It does however show what a bunch of loons there are on the left - let it go! The President is a citizen.
What is troubling is how secretive he is regarding his college years and his health history.
Seems like he enjoys keeping secrets and calling names. A very inexperienced, immature man for sure.
Your skepticism is noted. Those commenting on Birthers are probably doing so because this is how a weak candidate will pander to the larger-than-2% of people that still carry deep seated fears of President Obama's being an African-born Muslim. I believe personally that the president is doing just what the Puppet Masters wish and dictate, but I feel secure about the legitimacy of his election, as I do with Bushes, though I have issues with their agenda. But the election process is flawed intrinsically as the Final Four can NOT represent the best this Great Country has to offer; I KNOW we can do better!!!
His personal facts are only mysterious to those unwilling to seek out the readily available truth, Paul.
Peace
I can think of two other American Presidents who "probably grew up hearing that the British were a bunch of inperialists who persecuted his grandfather"; Kennedy and Reagan.
And ofcourse, all those early presidents who still remembered the revolution.
Teabag Labotomy, Beverly and notsojingo,
Boo! Facts!!! Complete with links!!! Boo!! Stop it! We might learn something!!! BOO!!!
I can believe these people. They are all crazy.
I usually try not to namecall but in this case, Angela NJ, I agree--they're all crazy, whackadoodle ding dongs!
I love how Huckabee tries to insinuate that the Clintons were ruthless in their political campaigning - while spreading falsehoods on the radio about President Obama's upbringing.
By the way Huckabee, President Obama is so "un-Christian" he appointed his primary challenger to be Secretary of State and she is so "mean," she accepted.
Actually, I liked that part. Same goes for McCain. I don't think either camp would have hesitated for a second if they had any real doubt.
Not everyone in the Obama Administration. Some came to their senses and left. The rest are crazy
Anyone else have a problem with the pages from this NBC site jumping and jerking up and down so much you can barely read the text? It is ONLY on this site that I have that problem, so it can't be my computer. Wish they'd do something about that..it's annoying and I usually end up just going somewhere else.
"Spreading deceit is the tool of "Evil" .... those that believe unquestioningly, are the ignorant & fools ..
Mike Huckabeeeee is a "Want-a-be" ............... that never will ....
Mssrs. Huckabee and W. Bush are both really nice guys. I mean that! It's too damn bad that the strippenzeiher isn't.
The problem we face with our insistence on responding to what we like to think of as republican imbecility with like-kind vindictive is that we target the wrong figure.
Mr. Huckabee, the Right Reverend, is playing a game he thinks harmless and the American way. He rightly encourages all to shed the weight that is the cause of more than half of our national health costs - and he did it himself so he knows whereof he speaks (on that subject), and he made the unfortunately not-bright comment about our president's up-bringing.
He is not in anyone's mind, including his, a contender for the oval office. He is making substantial amounts of money for himself because we, the people, are willing to give him so much air-time.
The same thing is true about Sarah and her retirement plans.
The manipulators are the ones who pay for whatever it takes to get these unfortunate dullards into the public eye. They have an agenda.
What that agenda is, I must admit that I really don't know. I do know that they do things, sub rosa and sotto voce, to mislead us as to just what it is they are doing, e.g., they do chum the waters just enough to keep us angry and thinking we're about to learn "THE TRUTH", but then they go back to silence.
Maybe the whole thing is just to sell advertising time on the so-called media. Maybe. it's the Manchurian Candidate. Maybe it's just a lot of people with too much time or money venting their spleen. To me, it is frightening.
But I am sure that neither Mike nor Sarah is a real threat to me - even though their handlers likely are. We must spend our energies trying to really know why this stuff is happening, not just pissing it all away yelling at cartoons.
They can't seem to help themselves.
What an idiot. These GOPers will say anything to discredit President Obama. Haven't we heard this song before?Â
He didn't say Obama grew up in Kenya to discredit him, he said it because he's an idiot. That's how much Huckabee knows about what's going on - typical Republican.
im a republican just2reason...want to call me an idiot to my face...i'll pay your airfare...would you please
Only about100 gazillion times! The problem is, see, he says one thing (knowing it's wrong) and leaving it hang for just a beat or two, the says something else. So, those that are of a certain mindset, only heard the first thing because the first impression (of anything), is what sticks in the mind. These guys aren't stupid, just ignorant and hateful.
Isn't it funny that so much of what they say is accident, or they mis-spoke, so then they fall all over themselves apologizing, knowing all the while, their FIRST piece of info is percolating?
Oh Daryl, I don't know if I'm a tea bagger or repug. However, I do know I don't have any time to sit in a corner and cry. I must get up tomorrow and go to work, so I can pay my taxes, so your elected officials can take my money and spend it. God Bless America!!!!!!
jules: I guess that means you don't mind your elected reps taking even more of your money and giving it to corporate America and to right wing religious organizations?
Cross another one off the list. He would be destroyed by this in the election. It is fairly easy to disprove as there are evidently a number of witnesses to the President's early life in Hawaii.
Don't worry. He isn't actually running. He has already stated his only reason for staying in the race this long is to guarantee that Mitt Romney doesn't win. I love it when religous freaks hate each other more than they hate the rest of us.
Good, I hope he is. He isn't qualified to run anyway.
Yeah and Huckabee is from Pluto.........let's see your planetary visa Huck!
On behalf of the League of Loyal Plutonians, I object!!! He's not one of us.
Plutonian, no. Plutocrat? Hmmmm. Maybe.
You may be right, but demand proof. Plutocrats were actually born on Charon and are only wannabe Plutonians.
Anna Molly - LOL
I think there is a better chance of Huckabee being from Mayberry than Obama being from Kenya.... I am sure he is Gomer Pyle....
Maybe he's from Uranus?
sorry, I just had to
Maybe he is Gomer's illegitimate son. LOL!!
Maybe he can get a job at FOX News since facts are not
important to the stories they tell
Kevin, he already has one. Hosts a show every weekend.
FOX must require their hosts to tell idiotic lies or else they can't work there.
Idiotic lies???Did someone mention Glenn Beck??
Does he display the requisite 'cleavage'?
They won't hire just anyone, you know.
Jody, it has been well documented that Fox News lies - often. Google up the Monsanto incident where one of their reporters was going to do a piece about hormone treated cows and the adverse health effects on chidren. Fox "News" would not allow them to do the story as it made Monsanto (a major Fox supporter/advertiser) look bad. It went to court and the ruling was in favor of Fox saying that they had the right to make their employees lie.
Heck look to Canada today, where (like Reagan did with the dismantling of the Fairness Doctrine), conservatives tried to overturn a law which prevented news organizations from airing deliberate lies. It was pushed so that the network known as the "Fox News North" could air their lies. Fortunately, the Canadans were smart enough to reject that conservative "power play".
Heck, if you add it all up, their false innuendos and outright lies probably outnumber the facts 2:1 on any given day! I won't be tallying it up though as I can only handle that craziness a few minutes at a time.
Kevin,
Huckabee already has that job at Faux News. In fact, all other Republican president wannabees are working for Rupert Murdoch today, except for Mitt Romney. He doesn't need the money, and he's got that embarassing thing in his past; passing a health care bill....
And blond....don't forget blond
All the news agencys lie not just Fox! They all push their own political views common sense tells you that. Like having health insurance we all know everyone needs it but its also a fact its unaffordable for some. Instead of penalizing those without it force drug companys and hospitals to lower prices!
I wonder if the President is doing what I would do. Not give them a thing just to mess with them. All they do is make themselves look ridiculous and it destroys any credibility they might have ever had.
Old Huck's big problem is this. He just isn't Presidential material.
mojo, are George W.'s and John Kerry's college transcripts posted anywhere? I couldn't find them on line. Please be kind enough to provide a link, or else STFU already. To claim that George W.'s grades were better than John Kerry's is like claiming that Miss Piggy is better looking than Raquel Welch. Anyone with half a brain and half his/her vision could it just isn't so!!
sickofdivision, forcing the drug companies and hospitals to lower their prices would go against the principals of capitalism, and is probably unconstitutional, too. However, for those people who can't afford health insurance, there is Medicaid (sometimes known as Medical Assistance). It's the people who have too much money in assets and who won't sell those assets to pay for their health insurance that end up in the ER, along with the illegal aliens. Medicaid allows ownership of a home and one vehicle (most of the time). People with a McMansion and the one vehicle (could be a BMW) can qualify for Medicaid.
I don't know what the answer is to have everyone covered by a health care plan. You can't force people to sell their valuable homes and downsize to a less expensive one, but if they qualify according to the income standards, they can live in their McMansion and legally receive medical services that the tax payer pays for. If they need a vehicle to look for work or to get to their medical appointments, then the BMW is a legitimately waived asset. I know farmers in the Midwest who take Hawaiian vacations, (or those to the Bahamas, Europe, the Far East) but legally qualify for Medicaid because of all the deductions they can include on their tax returns i.e. ALL the electricity used in their home if that home has land contiguous to the land they farm, interest paid on the purchase of a 4-wheeler, a motorcycle, a pickup, and an automobile, along with the depreciation of those "wheeled" tools. They can also deduct all the heating fuel used for their home (whether oil, gas or electric) and the wages they pay their children (no PROOF is required that the children actually performed work, though). There are many who receive Medicaid (Medical Assistance) who obviously have $$$ available but are not required to liquidate any assets to be able to use the $$$ freed to purchase health insurance. (The example of the farmer is one I know first hand because I was married to one.) Farmers receive huge payments from the federal government every year. These should be counted as income but are not (for Medicaid purposes). Farmers are part of the corporate welfare segment of the welfare paid in the USA.
I'd like to see limits put on both the market value of the house according to their real estate tax assessment document and the fair market value of the vehicle, according to NADA or Kelly's Blue Book, along with no exemption for other "farm" vehicles. I don't expect that will happen very soon, though, because it just makes too much sense.
As to the birthers, those who claim President Obama didn't grow up in the USA, and those who insist he should reveal his college transcripts, I'd like to hear a sound reason for their inquiries. No other president has been requested to show documentation of this kind. But then, all the other presidents have been caucasians. Hmmmm!
My predecessors' comments say it all!
Isn't it great to have a topic Democrates can finally insult those who don't agree with their way of thinking. Heck, with the exception of talk radio the majority of the news media are so liberal they attack anyone who has a different view. As for the problem in Wisconsin, the union don't want to give on anything, let the taxpayers pay the bill. Human nature, as long as it does't affect me. Common sense tells you if you don't have the money, you cut spending!!!!
Rondoo...just like a right wing bonehead....The union in Wisconsin offered to make concessions...the governor refused and demanded them to lose bargaining rights. Why do you dorks shoot off your mouths without any information.
Rondoo, you apparently didn't get the memo. The unions in Wisconsin, have agreed to all of the cuts that Walker wants to make, if he leaves their collective bargaining alone. That same bill has several other bad pieces of legislation in it. The Gov. can sell the utilities companies at any price he deems fair and without any bidding process, or accountability to the tax payer. May want to read up on the actual bill before speaking in favor of it. Just an FYI.
To Maria H;
Yes, you're correct. John McCain was born in Panama while his father, an American naval officer, was stationed at the American base in Panama. He was probably born in the American military hospital at that American base. I don't know exactly how the law on this reads as I'm not an attorney, but I do know children born to American citizens serving abroad in the military are automatically American citizens the same as if they were born on US soil. Or perhaps American bases abroad are considered American soil - I wouldn't know. But as the daughter and wife of American Air Force officers, I do know that John McCain, like all other American dependent children born abroad to American parents serving the American people on an overseas military assignment, are Americans. I believe their birth is registered at the nearest American consulate or embassy.
But the question remains: Why all the secrecy about his life? Why is it under lock and key? Why did he spend so much hiding his info? I belong to no party and as a US citizen I find this to be wrong!
Is there any proof that it was all under lock and key. Just may be that there are privacy rights and laws that protect your personal data to some extent. ID theft is rampant without making it any easier for theives.
What the heck are you talking about Shawn? Your post makes no sense.
Yes, it's under lock and key. It just make you wonder, why? The President of the US life should be an open book so we know what we are getting.
that is false talk Shawn - there is no secrecy
It's called privacy and public opinion to the contrary, we are all entitled to it.
why did Bush work so hard to hide his military record?
Shawn, there is no secrecy about his life. Have you not seen interviews with teachers and friends in Hawaii and Indonesia? What's secret about his college experience? We all know about his successes there. And the interviewer concocting falsehood about his view of Great Britain are really nuts! And for some reason, conservative nut commentators think Israel has the same interests as the USA does. Guess again! They are friends and allies but don't always have our interests at heart. Good grief. these weird people who think emotions and prejudice are good substitutes for facts, need to join the military and see the world, then maybe they could be half the patriots they think they are. Count me USAF retired who voted for Goldwater but became a Democrat when Bush 43 decimated my troops, alienated our allies, revealed our weaknesses to our enemies, allowed our only enemy, bin Laden, to go free and tanked our economy, leaving all of us in a corner without any decent solutions.
Hiding what exactly? You people are just amazing... Why not just accept the facts that are right in front of your face--He's an American President of the Christian faith, who you just happen to despise? (Really, he's got to be a martian from the planet Zokor for you to admit you just don't agree with his politics and that he won by a landslide?)
What secrecy?? His biography well documents his life. His political career, his schooling in law school, his teaching constitutional law in Chicago is all documented, not by him but historically. What the heck are you talking secrecy??
Shawn---Where are YOUR papers? Are they out in the open for all to peruse (and potentially doctor) at their leisure?
President Obama has released the same information released by previous Presidents. GW Bush was asked to release his school records and he refused (I think they were leaked later.) Obama has legitimate reasons to ignore this nonsense:
1) He has the right to be treated the same as every other President, regardless of his color. If he agrees to be treated differently, he will be.
2) There is no satisfying the conspiracy nuts. If he were to bend over backwards and release everything from school transcripts to high school essays, the nut cases would fling open the door and keep demanding more and more bizarre and pointless things.
3) By treating the conspiracy nuts' requests as genuine and legitimate issues, the President is giving these people credibility they do not deserve. They deserve to be ignored.
4) President Obama did release his birth certificate. Everyone has seen it.
My life is an open book, nothing at all to hide, except my father was a government agent and I can't tell you about that.
tacky-2804817 - "why did Bush work so hard to hide his military record?"
cause he had something to hide so your sugestion is obama also has something to hide
What secrecy? It's all out in the open, nothing is under lock and key. His birth certificate was put on line in 2007. His own books talk about his life, tell his story. In this day of media scrutiny, and other candidates looking under rocks for the least little thing, no candidate could hide the kind of things the conservative conspiracy theorists spout. The reason the birthers can't prove he was born in Kenya is because he WASN'T.
Why is it that your personal info is private? If you can answer that question then you will have the answer to why Obama info is PRIVATE!
Ken/OKC - Well said! You have summed up my frustrations.
Ok open book, time to scan your birth certificate and post it here, with your current and past addresses, current and past telephone numbers, you wife's personal data, the ages and names of your kids, and oh by the way post all your Social Security numbers. By the way who is your employer or pastor so this info can be confirmed.
You are and idiot to think that a person needs to give out personal data. Everyone that holds office is vetted far beyond any thing an idiot like you wants to go thru. You probably wouldn't qualify for a BNC, let alone obtain a clearance for anything. Your dad a government agent.! Ha, HA!
You sound like a teenager anyhow so forget about trying post the above info, it would be a lie anyway.
1) Somebody said Obama won by a landslide. That is either a lie, or the poster didn't bother to do the research. He DID NOT win by a landslide. Period! He did get the a simple majority. He did win. The figures were around 54%. That is a win, but not a landslide. That is a win, but not a landslide. That is a win, but not a landslide. --- 2) In the article above, it is clearly stated that Huckabee DOES NOT go along with the claim that Obama was born outside the US rather than, as he says, Hawaii. Neverteless MANY, MANY posters have insisted that that's what Huckabee claims. Get your facts straight, people.
Huckabee made an error how many thousand errors has Obama made. Where is the story on that MSNBC? Where is the story on the protesters in Wisconsin with their vile hate speech and signs with cross hairs.? Where are the stories of how Obama chide Libyan leader while giving CHINA a complete pass for doing the exact same thing? WHERE is the fair and impartial news MSNBC. Oh that is right you only report that which is good for your liberal hate base. Go Liberal haters of the world flock to MSNBC help to put them out of business.
Wade take 2 valium and call me in the morning
LOL
I don't know about msnbc having a liberal base. Most of the comments posted on news stories here are by "conservative" fools who only regurgitate the nonsense Limbaugh and other corporate mouthpieces feed them.
Indeed?! Where did you see that? Fox? No one else is reporting any such thing.
Now, Scott Walker, on the other hand -- "he's not one of us." THAT'S hate speech.
That's part of the problem frespech, the right wing maroons haven't figured out yet that the more people you send to any news program, the higher the ratings! It doesn't "put them out of business" you dupe, Wade-512031. It actually helps increase their advertising revenue. Here's how I help to not spread the word of idiots, I don't tell everyone else to go look at the idiot!
Wade ...it must be tough to read the truth ... all you ever hear on Fox is opinion ... no truth
The man is courting his party's nomination for President--Wearing a plaid shirt and yellow tie would be a mistake. Claiming the sitting President of the United States isn't really "like us" because he "grew up" in a foreign country and so doesn't understand or have American interests at heart isn't an "error". It's a calculated and cynical ploy to appeal to the easily led lunatic fringe that he hopes will see him as their savior.
Complaining about the way in which people choose to express themselves with certain words in Wisconsin is like a mugger complaining when his victim fights back.
Indeed, most of the divisive hyperbolic rhetoric from the left is but a mere intentional parody of the divisive hyperbolic rhetoric from the right that was spewed over the last several years. Basically, if you can't take take it, don't dish it. Well the GOP is masterful at dishing it, but they go into fits when they have to take it in turn. Don't worry though, even with idiots like Huckabee and these dumb as nails conspiracy nutters that apparently speak for the base of the GOP, progressives will not stoop to making up insane rumors about people's character or patriotism. Progressives have principles.
At least the union supporters there aren't bringing guns to their rallies and making transparent claims that it is simply an expression of their right to carry! I know a threat when I see one, so the union supporters have nothing to be ashamed of when their actions are compared to the gun toting health care opposition.
Repubs have made a hell of a bed for themselves.
AP, I believe it is called bigotry.
Maybe MSNBC isn't reporting all those things Wade mentions it because it didn't happen. If it was on FOX, then that explains it, they make up stuff.
Wade,
He did not make an error. It was intentional! You can twist it however you wish. Huckabee lied!
I'm with you Wade. It seems that every comment a liberal makes about a nonliberal is filled with hate.
Wade,
The stories you asked for can be found in two places, Faux News because they can't refuse broadcasting made-up stories and inside your teabag. The people in charge of law enforcement in Madison have repeatedly complimented the demonstrators for their civility and exemplary behavior. None of them carried asasult rifles or hanging effigies of the governor. They are exercising their right under the Constitution to assemble and petition the government. Folks on your side sure supported that when you were disrupting town hall meetings and shouting down the opposition. Is it your position that the Bill of Rights only applies to those on the right?
It is good that you bring up governor Walker. He is doing the bidding of the Koch brothers whose grandfather hated FDR and for generations have been trying to roll back any gains made by the middle class since the Great Depression. If Walker gets his way the middle class will be ever subserviant to the corporate interests and the rich.
That's a new tinfoil hat, right?
The "birther" movement was started by a democrat assistant Attorney General. He happened to be a Hillary supporter and filed a claim in court to have Obama ruled out of running for President based on his birthplace. It just never ceases to amaze me how the left always turns things around like they do. But with the help of the media it isn't difficult for them to fool themselves.
MSNBC is going to jump all over any Republican who even thinks of jumping into the race for President. We just need to get used to it.
Do any of you lefties remember when Michelle Obama made the statement about her husbands "home country" Kenya? How about our 57 states? People do make mistakes sometimes but should we give Barack and Michelle a pass but not Mike?
Here's Huckabee questioning President Obama's birth certificate in an effort to get the "Birthers" vote. This the way Huckabee and others are straying from the real problems addressing Americans. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs. Here's a FOX commentator who supposedly has a mind since he is a preacher and a FOX commentator, questioning as do the "Birthers".
To those who remember the last time the Republicans shut down the government and those who voted down the stimulus bill, lets all remember the party of "NO" when election day comes around. Let's remember to vote them out! There has been too much pains for the general public while the richest 2% get relieved of taxes and the mega-corporations reap bundles of cash and not spend any. Let's also remember the banking giants and mega-winners on Wall Street who continued to reap windfall salaries and profits while we carried the load of bailing them out. If you remember one thing remember this: The Republican party has lessened the taxes on the richest 2% while banks, corporations and Wall Street went on their merry way pocketing the money.
Here's the list of Republicans who should never be given any federal, state or local office:
Mitt Romney - Nope! Lawyer and usually comes in third or fourth!
Tim Pawlenty - Naw! A Lawyer with limited exposure and unknown except to Radical Rightist !
Haley Barbour - Nope! A recist Lobbyist lawyer from the poorest state in the union!
Mike Huckabee - No way! A FOX commentator with consistent second to last place placement in elections!
Jon Huntsman - No! An unknown but known to form PAC's to hide funding for candidates!
Rick Santorum - Nope! Another lawyer known only in one state, poor shot!
Sarah Palin - Nope, a self-centered gold seeker with absolutely no substance and no vision!
Mitch Daniels - Naw, he's another attorney with an arrest record!
John Thune - Nope! He has voted against the Health Care Reform Act passed by the 111th Congress!
Newt Gingrich - What? An antique also ran, who authored Contract with America- far right extreme-ism!
Ron Paul - Naw! He's a bigot's father and further right of the already right-winged extremist!
Herman Cain - No way! Another FOX commentator with no real world experience!
Michelle Bachmann - Nope! Another no- substance, self centered gold seeker, bat crazy TEA party-er!
Rick Perry - Nope! A career politician with no real world experience, who forces his warped narrow-minded religious beliefs on Texas women instead of addressing the 16 billion dollar budget deficit!
John Ensign - A straight forward man, just ask Cynthia Hampton with whom he had and extramarital affair after calling for Clinton's resignation.
Gary Johnson - Deflected questions about a 2012 presidental bid by saying his 501(c)(4) status forbids him from expressing a run for federal office on politics but he used marijuana for pain control from 2005 to 2008.
Donald Trump - Multiple bankruptcies so he knows how to use the system, Trump had switched to the Democratic Party from the Republican Party in 2001 and again registered as a Republican in 2009.
Jeb Bush - Not again - The only Bush that was any good was Daddy Bush. He's a Bush!!
Chris Christie - He's a lawyer, a lobbyist, crafted deferred prosecution agreements to award lucrative federal monitoring positions in no-bid contracts to friends, supporters, and allies.
OMG When I finish my two-minute ritual finger-crossing in front of the computer screen, I'm sure I'll have a pithy, substantive comment for this. I've never SEEN so much evil concentrated in one place.
.
Wow, what a hate speech. The DNC would be so proud someone with so little common sense has learned so much!!
You forgot to mention Obama - Socialistic, crusher of human rights, expanded US government by 100 percent in two short years and bankrupted the world's last superpower with the blessing of people like you.
Ah, it must be nice to have a selective memory.
"crusher of human rights"??!! LMFAO
Oh yeah I really feel oppressed!! Oh my god...wait...the laughter is almost over. OK I'll continue.
Please support this tripe with some evidence and lose the hyperbole, it makes you sound like a nutter. "100 percent!", "America went bankrupt in only the last two years!?" Oh wait...the laughter is back..."!!!crusher of human rights!!!" - holy @!$%#!
I need a drink after that.
This economic didaster is 100% Bush's fault. Make no mistake about it.
Patrick, it was Bush 43 who bankrupted us. The bailout money has been credited by a Vast majority of economists with keeping us out of a depression. Start reading about it. For your information the Federal Government IS the USA. Without, we are a bunch of helpless little states, without controlled interstate commerce and, for sure, without useful foreign policy or any possibility of defense against foreign powers. Try Texas against China, for instance. Your Short Memory cannot even go back 3 years when Bush was waging an unnecessary war, spending us into the doghouse with a trillion dollars of unbudgeted money and standing by while Main Street mortgagers and Wall Street ran away with everyone's money. I cannot think you enjoyed that ride. Human Rights-Bush tapped our telephones, limited habeas corpus, invaded a country that was no threat (why not North Korea? It had a million man army, was closer to nuclear weapons and was much more oppressive to its people).
Selective memory? No, that was Ronald Reagan. Or was it George Bush? The elder. No, the younger.
No, I remember now. It was Alberto Gonzales.
Or is it Donald -- I had nothing to do with it -- Rumsfeld.
Hey, maybe it was all those off-the-books wars and the collapse of the housing market because of Wall Street greed and corruption that REALLY caused all those bad things you're talking about.
I guess you must have selective memory, too. You should really get some help for that.
I will have what ever Patric is haveing
Radagast:
I wouldn't recommend the Manhattan. Too sour and it gives you delusions. Obviously ran out of grenadine.
Patrick, I want to thank you.
Everytime I read one of your posts I actually laugh out loud. You are actually cheering me up today.
You're a hoot, mister.
Anna- Thanks, I am more of a scotch man anyway.
There is no grenadine in a Manhattan... and they aren't sour unless you're using sour bourbon.
An Obama supporter in Kentucky... and we know our bourbon (and our Manhattans).
I had hopes I would make it all the way through the comments before the oral diarrhea from the Right would stain the monitor too much. It makes more sense and is easier to carry on a conversation with the worm in the bottom of a Tequila bottle. I have had more intelligent conversations with the toilet bowl the morning after eating the aforementioned worm!
Rudy Gonzales, terrific post and the list of names, too.
Rick Perry used to be a democrat under Karl Rove found him and decided he had potential, his looks helped, too, convinced him to become republican.
Why would anyone listen to what a bean-bag like Huck has to say, anyway? It would be like listening to Cal Thomas or that goofy Dick Morris guy..
Or, Palin.
Don't waste your time responding to "Patrick". I suspect he's a "troll" looking for attention (probably a teenager) or he is so naive that nothing can help him......
"If you lie long enough and loud enough the voters will believe you"- Carl Rove 2008
I have a GREAT solution to all our problems! Let's eliminate all taxes on the middle class and the poor and put the entire responsibility on the horrible good for nothing rich people. Then we can all sit back and live off the rich! They are discusting and arrogant and they did little or no work to become as wealthy as they are and I WANT THEIR MONEY! It's only fair. I want, I want , and it is my government's job to give it to me!
disgusting...correction before I get slammed
i would never slam someone with limted IQ its not PC
Right.
The top one percent have been totin' that barge and liftin' that bale ever since this country was founded.
It's surprising, though that these hardest working Americans never managed to become the "elite".
They call them WHACKO for a good reason.
If the Republican Party has no better sense than to have Huckabee Hound for 2012 it is all over but the shouting.
And here is a little article about the "genious" leaders from the Dem. party....let's face it, all of these politicians are educated idoits!
Joe asks for 6-months of retraining for "Cattle Guards!"
For those of you who have never traveled to the west, or southwest, cattle guards are horizontal steel rails placed at fence openings, in dug-out places in the roads adjacent to highways (sometimes across highways), to prevent cattle from crossing over that area. For some reason the cattle will not step on the "guards," probably because they fear getting their feet caught between the rails.
A few months ago, President Obama received and was reading a report that there were over 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado. The Colorado ranchers had protested his proposed changes in grazing policies, so he ordered the Secretary of the Interior to fire half of the "cattle" guards immediately!
Before the Secretary of the Interior could respond and presumably try to straighten President Obama out on the matter, Vice-President Joe Biden, intervened with a request that...before any "cattle guards" were fired, they be given six months of retraining for Arizona border guards. 'Times are hard', said Joe Biden, 'it's only fair to the cattle guards and their families!'
And these two guys are running our country!
all repuglicans are forked tongue hypocritical serpents!
okiejohn,your story is absolute bulls#!!.
Hey Mary, not repuglicans.....rebuttlickins!
LMAO, chucksf!
For idiots like Okiejohn-
http://www.snopes.com/politics/humor/cattleguards.asp
Recycling old jokes is just about all the Repugs can do anymore. It works with their revisionist instincts.
Fact checked the "cattle guard" story .....FALSE
okiejohn, even if the story were true (which it isn't), all it proves is that neither of these men grew up in a place that raised cattle. I grew up in the Midwest, my father farmed. However, nowhere in the county we lived in or the adjacent counties were there cattle guards. Raising beef was not the primary farm function in that area. It was only after travelling to an area in South Dakota where large ranchers raised huge herds of cattle did I become familiar with the term "cattle guards". My guess is that you don't know how many New York City blocks is equivalent to a mile. And in reality I can't expect you to know that unless you have lived in NYC or another large city.
Perhaps you would like to join a joke web site and have them send you a joke of the day. Then you could get your jollies without having to revert to the old political sickness of trying to make a joke out of your political opponent.
Do these conspiracy theorists realize what an absurd theory they are pursuing and how damaging this is to the credibility of the USA as a whole? An average green card applicant has to produce reams and reams of documents and proofs to be granted permanent residency that takes anywhere from 1-5 years, records scrutinized in great detail and rightly so. The US has every right to make sure that the person living permanently in the USA has no shady past and such. And these right wing nuts believe that the man holding the most powerful job in the world, with his hand on the nuclear button of the country and privy to the nations most intimate military secrets could gain access to all this with no mind numbing background checks or no documents? The very thought is absurd and idiotic. The world laughs at this stupid conspiracy theory. Frankly I don't know which is more outlandish, this theory or that some people actually think Palin can be president.
Well said, Prav. You really can't make this stuff up. The rest of the world must look at these "possible presidential" candidates and pray--a lot.
AM radio causes brain damage.
And for about the nine millionth time - the bust of Churchill was a LOAN, not a gift - and it was LOANED to President BUSH by Tony Blair after 9/11, not to President Obama. It was always intended to be returned. As if this was an issue to begin with.....
It's all about fabrication of disgust. They will find any reason to readily misconstrue the facts in order to justify their contempt. In the end all they are left with is their contempt and not a shred of evidence to legitimize it.
Mike Huckabee as Prez with Sarah Palin as Vice Prez. Every Tea Bagger in America's wet dream!
I would move.....I think Mexico would be safer
please
And this man claims to be a man of God, who will only tell the truth and represent God's values here on earth. And people wonder why Christians are thought of as hypocrites.
My thoughts exactly. Huckabee is NOT a christian. In fact, if Jesus was on earth today, he would reject most of the lies the so called christians throw out there. A quote I love is "Faith above all, unless money or sex is involved"(the Eagles).
Being raised as a Southren Baptist . And after rejecting that theocracy after the age of 12 . Having had a real Live Job since i was 12 . Having paid taxes for the next 37 years i dont see the Problem . WE got what we PAID for . Corrupt , idiots in office . who pander to the left or right as long as it makes them money . TERM LIMITS , FLAT TAX ,GET RELIGION OUT OF OUR GOVERNMENT .If They Dont produce dont Re-elect . we are not A christian Nation . We where founded on RELIGIOUS FREEDOM . not the Opposite .
If we could tap into all that crazy for fuel, we wouldn't need another barrel of foreign oil again. Of course the sad part in all this is that there are many who actually believe these lies. Too many.
Show me a birth certificate and perhaps the "crazies" will stop questioning what you people seem to already believe.
You could show the crazies a birth certificate, A film of the birth with all of the American doctors and nurses. A sworn statement from the doctor who delivered him and they still would not believe it. Those people are just simply lunatics. There are some on both sides (the lunatic fringe).
No, the crazies would just call it fake. You couldn't convince these birthers no matter what evidence you produced.
Holy @!$%# dude, the damn thing has been shown a dozen times. Every time it is shown some armchair notary says it is a fake. Ask yourself if you would actually believe it if you saw it and I think you will have your answer why nobody cares to entertain this psychosis any further.
Put this up there with the 9-11 conspiracy, the moon landing hoax conspiracy, and the Roswell cover up conspiracy.
The state of Hawaii did find the birth cert
http://www.theroot.com/buzz/hawaii-governor-finds-documentation-obamas-birth google it
Why do you need to see a birth certificate? Was W ever asked for one? Clinton? George Sr.? No, so don't change the standards now.
And how many TIMES do you need to see the damn birth certificate?? Enough already. Show us your birth certificate. You couldn't possibly be from the planet earth.
Heck, I've never seen my original birth certificate. I've only seen copies.
Somebody asked ealier, why are we asking this president for proof, when we never, ever, ever questioned any other president?
It's simple. He's a black man. He also happens to be a democrat. He also happens to be the President of the United States at a time when hate mongering is running rampant.
Again, we never, ever, ever asked any other president to show such proof of citizenship.
Sheesh, what a country.
If he hadn't been born here he couldn't have run for President in the first place. That's the law. The question has been settled.
The State of Hawaii did find the original birth certificate so the link posted is probably a birther site or merely someone puts it in writing, therefore, it must be true.
Several Hawaii officials, including the previous and current governors, have stated they have viewed it. The original birth certificate (just as yours and mine) contains personal information that by law cannot be released to the public without permission. Even if President Obama gave the okay, those who are determined to believe the President was not born in Hawaii would continue to make their false claims.
According to the State of Iowa, anyone who wants a copy of the birth certificate available to the general public can send $100 to cover the cost. Go for it.
Here ya go: http://msgboard.snopes.com/politics/graphics/birth.jpg
huckabee just showed he is willing, along with the rest of these "bow to the tea partiers", to sell his soul to get a few more supporters and their donations, sell a few more books, get more advertising on fox and stay in the news spotlight. if i didn't have such a low regard for them, i could almost feel sorry for them.
I wonder where the reverend/pastor stands on the ten commandments?
nomossonmyrocks
Ten hell- there are eleven- thou shalt not agree with President Obama on anything
not even what day it is. The 11th is just for Sunday Christians and fundies.
what the man supposedly brought down was closer to 5 hundred laws , guess we for got those over time
you can't ask that of the Rev. HE is above reproach.....Errr excuse me while I upchuck all over my 'puter.
Huckabee knows exactly what he is doing, he pretends to be a folksy man of the people but he's really a fortk tongued serpent republican.
A fork tongued serpent republican? Really? Don't hold back, tell me what you really think.
and he claims to be christian..lol
Maybe liberals should start a rumor that Huckabee is the anti-Christ; the one who smooth talks the people into whatever.....
No, Jody, Huckabee's not the anti-christ. He's a charlatan. A huckster. A liar, and according to his own moral doctrine, a sinner.
Nice stretch, Jody, but you didn't even get close.
Sorry Jody, Oboma$$ beat him to it. I guess we will have to wait for the second coming now.
If this is the best the GOP has to offer in terms of an alternative to our President, then it looks like 4 more years.
For the record, Mike Huckabee, show me your grade school diploma. This kind of talk says to me you don't have one.
first of all the dem & reps both lie an cheat. second they all have there own bench marks for them not the tax payers.
Everyone in the US stupid enough to go for this birther crud is already a full blown tea bagger. Huckabee and the rest need to move on to find more people to scare, lie to and bring into the Republican umbrella. It looks like they brought the tea baggers in and the moral majority folks are now scared they are losing control. It was a blast watching the tea baggers vote with the Dems against Boehner and his corporate sponsors. Next, they will vote against those who see only religion in everything.
The Repugs started by being the party of business.
There aren't enough rich people to get many Repugs elected, so Reagan gave the party over to the Christian right. Well, add rich people to extremist right wing KKK like Christianity, and you still don't have a majority no matter what name they go by.
So a few years ago someone came up with the idea of changing "John Birch Society" to Tea Party, and voila, we have another mandate to destroy America for the further enrichment of the top 2%.
Who next? The rich still own the party outright, but they are willing to give in on all social issues. The problem is, as more fringe groups come into the Repug party they fracture the existing promise of Bible before constitution and the Christian right is as willing to leave and start their own party as the tea baggers are. I guess all that's left is for the Repugs to simply buy votes at the homeless shelters. Oops, they are shutting those down and imprisoning the homeless for morals crimes.
daryl
"so Reagan gave the party over to the Christian right." Reagan announced his candidacy in Philadelphia, Miss.
Civil rights workers were killed there- ronnie raygun- the forgetful one- turned the repugnants over to racists
and know nothings- people who had jobs that paid cash daily or weekly and they paid no taxes- they had never voted until they found out reagan was a racist like them.
'
Wow and these are the people that run or want to run our country.
JimC: I don't think Reagan was a racist, nor that he supported their sick agena. I don't even think he was a right wing religous fanatic like those he handed the Republican Party over to. He thought he could control them, as the Dems thought they could under their "Dixicrat" label. But there is no controlling those who believe they have a direct conduit to the mind and wishes of God and a desire to force the rest of the world to live under their rule.
Read Ron Reagan Jr.'s latest book about his father. I think he would know best, and while a bit too far to the left for me, Ron Jr at least is logical and tries to listen to the rest of us. Most importantly, he is brutally honest about his father and said that his father recognised his mistake in bringing the religious right into power in the Republican Party.
I actually was a registered Republican and voted for Reagan the first time. I didn't realize the deal he had made with the devil's whore (Southern Christian fundamentalists) and left the Repug Party when all independent thought was criminalized in the party.
Prior to being hired in any position I must provide two to three forms of identification. It seems unconscionable that we would not require the President of the United States to provide a valid birth certificate. Considering that in order to be president one must have been born here. It must be proven that someone has put forth the legitimate paperwork with an official seal to validate their birthplace or Democrat or Republican step aside.
Shelley, pull your head out of Glenn Beck's butt! We have seen his birth certificate, Hawaii has authenticated it (and offered to sell you a copy) and anyone with any sense has dropped this.
Unless you have copies of all US president birth certificates, you are coming across as the racist, or at least a complete moron, here. Not one president in our country's history has produced a birth certificate. And I'll bet you didn't demand one of John McCain, who was actually born outside of the US.
Is it because he's black you hate him and demand he live up to what you don't expect from anyone else?
Is it because he's a Democrat and you just shill for the right no matter what?
There has to be a reason for people like you to believe the unbelievable, and demand that you are the only person to determine who gets to be president. What is it? I'd seriously like to know what goes on in minds like yours since I have only dealt with people who can think and accept that they might have been told wrong by their betters.
Good idea Daryl, but I doubt you get a reply. Actual facts don't seem to matter to the right, anymore. Oh well, good try.
Oh, for the love of @#$)?&!...
WHEN will the idiocy of this whole birther movement just go away????! Did any of the previous presidents have to deal with this crap???? People like Shelley ought to be tasked with finding the birth certificates, college records, and any other "public record" of ALL previous presidents, since they're sooooo incredibly interested in where people were born. Or is it just concern for where Obama was born???? Yeah, that's what I thought. You'll believe the unbelievable because you're apparently too dimwitted and simple to do any research yourself, and even if you did do some research (owwwwww, beware of the extreme brain strain...) and found Obama's birth certificate (yes that's RIGHT, his birth certificate is WIDELY available on the good ol' interwebs, for all to see!) you'd rather just believe what Glenn Beck and his paranoid ilk shove down your gullet and spew all kinds of illogical hatred and "theories" and go around parrot-squawking what's been said to you without realizing how incredibly moronic you appear. Since you're apparently so eager to accept what you're told and just follow along like brainless sheep, would you birther people like to buy a bridge in New York from me? Cheap!!
Does anyone understand the process required to run for POTUS? There is an application process that also includes proving eligibility. No contender can make the cut unless they have fulfilled all requirements. It is pure stupid to think he would have gotten on the ballot if he were not certified legit.
ty sk nitro wv
i was just bout to go on a rant about the presidential vetting process lol "birthers " what a large joke.
Perhaps Mike Huckabee misread what he was reading due to his wandering eye crossing the letters over each other to form a new word.

Good idea Daryl, but I doubt you get a reply. Actual facts don't seem to matter to the right, anymore. Oh well, good try.[/quote]
This is for both of you.
Fact: Obama's own grandmother said she witnessed his birth in kenya.
Fact: Hawaii showed us a birth certificate without a seal. People said we want the birth certificate with the seal, Hawaii said no. Hawaii came up with excuses for two weeks as to why they could not give us a birth certificate with a seal. After two weeks they showed his birth certificate with a seal, but there was a problem. Both birth certificates, one with the seal and one without the seal didn't match. The two birth certificates had two different places of birth in Hawaii.
Fact: Michelle Obama caught on video admitting her husband was born in Kenya.
You can call me a birther if it helps you feel better about yourself. I'm not a birther, i'm going on facts.
Those three things did not decide my vote in the election, nor did his skin color. My vote against Obama was based on so much more than that.
Fact: When she found out the interviewer was referring to barack Obama II, she said he was born in Hawai'i.
Fact: The b/c Pres. Obama posted has a seal also.
Fact: Michelle never did any such thing. She referred to her husband's homeland as Kenya. Yeah, like my homeland is Ireland.
OK, you're a birther. You don't check out the facts.
Jack-1666973: A person's homeland refers to where they were born.
You obviously didn't understand a single thing I said when I was talking about Obama's Birth Certificate.
If you were born in Ireland then moved to the United States and became a citizen, you would be an Irish American, and yes your homeland would be Ireland.
If you were born in America, your homeland would be America and you would be just an American.
This is what happens with political correctness, it breeds ignorance.
Matt -
I understand the definition of homeland.
I understand the situation regarding our President's birth more than you will ever know. I researched it thoroughly. I'm confident your knowledge regarding the situation pales in comparison to mine.
The definition of homeland has a broader meaning - A state, region, or territory that is closely identified with a particular people or ethnic group. She was referring to his Kenyan heritage through his father.
Hah! This from someone who is clearly speaking from ignorance. He has a birth certificate showing he was born in Hawai'i. There are official releases from the state of hawai'i affirming his Hawai'ian birth. There are public documents from the hospital (Kapi'olani) touting their pride at being the place of our President's birth. We have resolutions from both the Senate and the House affirming his birth in Hawai'i.
Please, don't make me laugh with your ironic comments regarding ignorance.
