Pawlenty to hit the Iowa airwaves

Almost 50 days until the Ames Straw Poll, Tim Pawlenty is about to go up with TV ads in Iowa -- the first presidential candidate to do that this cycle, First Read confirms. Politico first reported the news.

The TV ads -- at a $50,000 buy, running from June 23 to July 3 -- will appear on FOX News in the Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Omaha, Ottumwa, Rochester, and Sioux City media markets.

Pawlenty spokesman Alex Conant tells NBC: "Gov. Pawlenty is well positioned to unite conservatives and do well in both Iowa and New Hampshire. The soon-to-be-unveiled TV ads will introduce the governor to Iowans about why he is the candidate with the strongest record and best results, not rhetoric."

And say what?

Oh, so he's 'found his' voice? You know the one he lost at the debate last week?

Well, at least he's come out from hiding behind Facebook & Twitter like the other family values freak! lol

How long will it be before some of the other candidates decide to de-bunk the Pawlenty mythology?

His record in fact is execrable. And he has the personality of Wanda the Fish.

This ad campaign is going to be a soft lob over the center of home plate for someone to knock out of the park.

Ah. A Disney classic soon to be released on Blue Ray and DVD.

That is, a fairy tale.

Just ask Minnesota, which now has the fourth highest deficit in the country.

Ahhhhh.... I love the liberal rethoric. Sitting on the sidelines and throwing stones at the republican candidates. All the while, not a thing you say has any bearing on what the republicans will do to choose their candidate to topple Obama. You don't have a single amount of input, other than tossing out barbs as if what you think, or do will make any difference in the final selection. It's humorous and I enjoy watching you guess, second guess, third guess and so on. All the name calling in the world will amount to a pile of dung towards who they select.

The ONLY thing the republicans are doing right now is making you produce knee jerk reactions as your mouths go into overtime. The greatest circus in town is watching the liberals spin into oblivion.

Seems you are totally unaware that your messiah is running the worst administration since Genghis Kahn.

Actually, Genghis did pretty well for himself, conquering most of asia, india, europe and the middle east. Of course, he did not have to deal with yammering pin-head on Fox news. :)

Yes he did do pretty well for HIMSELF. What did he do to the people that got in his way? He tortured, killed, maimed and beheaded them. I don't think they would feel comforted by YOUR analysis.

I was fighting to get a job, keep a mortgage, and was feeling really bad since I had a 2 year old daughter. If I recall, interest rates were close to 20-25%... Gasoline had doubled in price... inflation was at a all time high.

You were referring to Jimmy Carter, weren't you DBO?

Since you are of the liberal mindset, you don't see how the liberals like yourself do everything they can to protect and coddle the messiah in chief.

As far as I'm concerned Obama is one big a$$ mistake afterall. He was elected on zero credibility, zero experience, zero clout, zero management experience, zero integrity and alternately was never questioned on the hard issues. His oratory skills alone won him the presidency. His background was never scrutinized but rather ignored. His associations with known terrorists were overlooked by the main stream media. Obama won because he was a reality show hero.

Now 2 1/2 years into his "presidency" what has this country gotten for the deal? Deeper in debt and one day closer to death. (a rock metaphor). He has delayed fixing problems and has kicked the can down the road to solving this nation's debt crisis. Don't you think he should be putting the best minds in the country to work trying to solve that nation crushing problem? No? I guess it's someone else's problem.

In all seriousness, I would support him if he showed any real sign of fixing the problems we face. Since he refuses to set the standard of excellence, I can't, in all good conscious support his forward march towards the utopian socialist society by using Kensyan economics, adding to the national debt by almost a third, and increasing the size of government by over 100,000 new jobs.

When BB whips out the "messiah" dog whistle he's specifically attempting to scare evangelical fundamentalists with references to false prophets and the Antichrist.

What happened? The internet was supposed to enhance the democratic nature of political debate. Seems all we get is a box full of OCD turnips and their broken records sounding out their fixations--generally as typical having little to do with the article.

Pawlenty is just going to run a few ads. Who cares? I think one person actually made some sort of comment relevant to Pawlenty and the fiscal disaster of his State (none of the States are doing well since the HW Bush era when the trend became regardless of which party was in power: states and local governments on the one hand were handed numerous expensive mandates by the feds while at the same time the federal funds siphoned to the States and local governments were reduced to a trickle.) IT IS EASY TO LOOK FOR ANY SORT OF EXCUSE TO FIRE OFF NEGATIVE AND TRITE NAMECALLING THAT HAS NO RELEVANCE TO THE PROBLEMS OF TODAY. The solutions to tthe problems we face as the wealthiest nation on the planet by far which can no longer fund simple things previously taken for granted such as roads and schools are beyond politics and the reach of any President and Congress.

As far as Pawlenty goes. It is early in the process and the no one has thinned the field yet. Soon to be forgotten most likely (per the polls and news--not my opinion). It is supposed to be one of the greater aspects of the American political system that most any nitwit can run for the Presidency--not that they will get very far without deep pockets and some political sense (politics is generally taken to be something somewhat opposed to honesty?).

Besides, which are nitwits is pretty much a value laden topic; and, of course, if a nitwit (in your opinion) should happen to win, then said nitwit is no longer a nitwit but the President and as such, by the social contract, deserves to be addressed respectfully--if you can't respect the person, then you should do so out of respect for the Office and for your fellow citizens.

All this trash talk lacks substance and is a real boor and reflects poorly on the American politcal system--not exactly looking like Jefferson's "yeomen". Me--I don't care much for turnips, they are hard to peel and have very little to offer in taste.

If you are going to b!tch about Obama, why don't you b!tch first about Bush/Cheney/Bernanke/and Paulson's FRAUD perpetrated against our country and our currency?

What's not understood by the liberals is the current change set forth by the Obama administration has done more harm to this country and it's core values than any previous administration before it. Obama is a warmonger, as so claimed of Bush. Obama's tendency to override the Constitution by fiat is the worst this country has ever seen. His overrulling of the War Powers Act shows he has no regard for the laws of the land.

With the government getting involved in private enterprise, has set a terrible precidence. It encroaches on capitalism in the worst way. Everytime the government gets involved in fixing a private enterprise situation, our freedom is on the line. All one has to do is look south towards Venezualia and see what Hugo Chavez did to take over his country and turn it into a dictatorship. Now, the once free country is bound by the rule of a man that knows no bounds of torture, imprisonment for the people and can't be unseated by the very people of that country. They had a constitution at one time that was completely ignored by the president of that country. I know you liberals don't want to see it because you are enamored by Obama... but he has every love for dictators and communist rule.

DBO - So sad that you feel Obama isn't doing what he can to go around the Constitution. Obama once said that he would do more if it weren't for the Constitution getting in his way. Have you taken a look at the Executive Orders lately? I'll bet they have totally escaped your attention. Seems liberals are focused in on the Republican candidates running for election more than they are paying attention to what their liberal president is doing behind the scenes.

Paying attention to liberal media has it's blinding effects... LM makes the liberals totally blind to what is really going on. Of course God forbid any liberal listen to conservative new sources... really, the lies that are told, the spin on everything... the fake news... the inhumanity of it all..............

If you really watch Obama in campaign mode. A definite pattern emerges. Everything he says or does is carefully planned and rehearsed to add votes and never lose votes.

On too many issues, this means that he will not take a stand. He will mumble a few ambiguous phrases and just move on.

You name the issue, his lukewarn response is always the same. Budget, deficit spending, National debt, Immigration, Gay marriage, Middle east wars, gun control.

This is the same non-commitment strategy he used in the Senate. Just voting "present"

This is not leadership. This is campaigning.

I love the double talk that come from these Govenors. Out of one side of their mouths they speak of their sterling, record breaking tenures as Gov. but yet out of the other sides of their mouths they speak of what the Federal government can't do like the States can.

Ok, so if all your experience and 'results' are at the State level and State level ideas are ideas that cannot be implemented at the Federal level, (aka Obomneycare), they how am I supposed to relate your self-proclaimed State level success in a Federal context?

Is part of your add to going to tell Senator Grassley to shove it and tell those folks in Iowa affected by the flooding that they should pull themselves up by their bootstraps and get a bucket and start to get rid of the water themselves since the Country is broke?

That's fine until the insurance company decides to declare bankruptcy rather than live up to their commitments. Don't allow people to build or reside in flood plains. It's not like we don't know where they are. Upgrade the building codes in areas that have hurricanes and tornadoes. We are stuck on the stupid of "rebuilding" without upgrading the standards which couldn't withstand what we knew ahead of time nature might throw at us. It's not an act of GOD to build insufficiently to survive a storm or flood. It's an act of IGNORANT men.

Just heard that the President authorized a withdrawal of 10,000 U.S. troops from Afghanistan. Whittling down 10% of the total force is not enough to satisfy anybody (except the generals). 15-20,000 might have given him more breathing space--and time--to continue stabilizing civilian areas that we cleared of Taliban.

Frankly, the economic fallout of a 90,000 troop level in Afghanistan is significant and unsustainable in these times.

              Fancy That,

Removing too many troops might allow the Taliban to regain power in Afghanistan. This would look bad and might cost Obama some votes. If, on the other hand, Obama dosen't withdraw some troops, this also might look bad, and might cost Obama some votes. So Obama walks along the fence and tries to please both sides just enough, without alienating the other side.

This is how you look at everything when in full campaign mode. Don't lose votes. That's all that's important.

The war on terror was started, still continues, and needs to end quickly in Afganistan. The time to leave Afganistan is not now! The message to the terrorists must be ruthless, brutal, direct, and effective. There is no taking of prisoners in this war. Watching the events of 9/11 proved to me that these terrorists are insane, cruel, and have no sense of humanity. We must never surrender America! We will fight them in their caves! We will fight them in their villages! We will fight the terrorists in the streets! We will never surrender! For now is not the time to turn back America! To show weakness to these terrorists is a huge mistake socially, morally, and poltically. The death of Bin Laden is great news for all humanity. Total destruction must always be our goal for these killers of all humanity. That is fact!

You can cite "evidence", which was provided to you by the real perpetrators of the crimes of mass murder on 9/11/2001, but that "evidence" isn't anything approaching a PROOF, or the TRUTH.
