NBC News confirms that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal will endorse Gov. Rick Perry today.
He will attend the CNN debate in Tampa and will appear in the spin room for the governor as well. CNN first reported the news of Jindal's endorsement.
Earlier today, former presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty endorsed Mitt Romney.

Hahahaha!
Jindle WHO?
Isn't he the guy that was the last rising star among the tea baggers?
Hmmm...
What happened again to cause him to flame out?
Oh yeah - he opened his mouth! lol
LOL, you totally beat me to the punch! Double slap from Pawlenty on the "Bachmann who?" entendre, right?
Is their no shortage of laughter or hypocrisy from the likes of the below poster? By all means, dilute your 'message' with vitriolic name calling toward a fellow poster. It just adds SO much to your 'value' and cred.
Jindal is another odd duck Governor. What is it with these strange Republican politicians? Jindal sounded so over wrought on TV during the Gulf overspill, I thought he was going to have a panic attack on camera. Not my idea of a leader, but, then, neither are Palin, Perry, Walker, Kasich, Scott, and LePage.
http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/republican-governors-remarkably-unpopular/
Who will ever forget his big speech, where he came across like the Chucky Cheese rat caught in the headlights? LOL
Feisty,
"Chucky Cheese Rat, you say "? Are you insulting his Indian racial heritage?
Amy, you are wrong, as usual.
Gov. Bobby Jindal has done a great job, he is very popular, 60% in La. support his re-election.
The crooked Democratic Party in Louisiana can't find a decent opponent for him.
FR -- are you saying that, in the game of election poker, Bobby (Gilligan) Jindal is worth more than Tim Pawlenty?
Too funny.
But the real question is who will draw the Queen of Diamonds?
I have NO idea what Chucky's heritage is - do you?
PS: Nor do I CARE!
Until you run for office and win state wide election and have a 60% approval rating, maybe you should stick to your current job of personally attacking others on this blog like the middle school girls in "Mean Girls". Seriously, the best you can do is bigotry and intolerance? You dont have any ability to critically think and put forth your own ideas and positions? I wonder how many visitors to this blog have been lost turned off by the reprehensible attacks made by Fiesty on here.
Bobby Jindal has done a great job of freaking out. He really gets hysterical.
Feisty, this is too funny! The right-wingers are "playing the race card" on you today! Such hypocrites, considering they badgered our first African American President for two years to produce his birth certificate, then whined about being accused of racism after all their ugly taunts.
It's pretty much all they have left Amy...
Their fountain of misinformation has sprung a massive leak... ;o)
As an 'anchor baby', Jindal should provide plenty of cover for Perry's immigration stance.
http://freakoutnation.com/2010/08/03/bobby-jindal-was-an-anchor-baby/
Yup...I see the usual banana republican pussies like bob lotsa numbers and joe in albany are at it again. Since y'all are such experts on La politics riddle me this: Why do these people continually vote against their own interests?
"But the real question is who will draw the Queen of Diamonds?"
"Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy
She'll beat you if she's able." ~Eagles
I don't think that straw will be sipped.
Just ask Mr. McCain.
Who?? An endorsement from anything Louisiana should be scrutinized. Doesnt matter, all of the moronic, uneducated southern states, with maybe the exception of FLorida, will go red again and again and again, as long as there's always hope the South will rise again.
Why do these people continually vote against their own interests?
Stupid is as stupid does.
Crusty Redhead Baby!
How's ya doin?
I've noticed that you've taken a turn for the worse today judging by your threads. Blaming 9/11 on the Republicans....lol....oh come now....even YOU don't actually believe that now do you?
Sweetheart, I think you're losing it. I'll give you the same advice I gave to Bev the Racist.....PUT THE GLASS D!CK DOWN!! The meth is f*ckin you all up Precious. For the love of God and all that is Holy, please untouch the two wires in your skull.
Love, Michael..;0) smooch, smooch
Cygnus_X-1, I fear for Florida, after all we've got Gov. Scott, and his middle name is CROOK. So as I questioned the election in 2000, I will have to be nervous about dirty tricks here again with Scott at the helm. With the current crop of Tpub govs. I fear many elections may be compromised next year.
Why do these people continually vote against their own interests?
Yup - It says more about the voters of La than it does Jindal.
Hopefully, Anyone but Perry will win the Republican-Tea Potty contest. Perry is the most dangerous person running.
I wonder who Palin is going to endorse? I'd like to send them a boquet (sp?) and condolence card.
Why do you care? It's not like you're going to vote for a Republican anyway.
You musta stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Dangerous in what way Job1? What is your definition of dangerous when it comes to Perry? Do you have any real thoughts on the question or are you just mimmicking liberal posters? I really want to know why you think Perry is dangerous. When you tell me... I'll tell you why I think he's dangerous.
Bob – I may have suggested before that you can complete high school on the Internet now. You might learn the difference between race and nationality.
Or maybe these people are bigger than your bigotry and condescension and truly believe in personal responsibility and accountability. They dont want a nanny state and see the guinea pig states of California, Illinois and NY as not being role models for the country with high tax, high government regulation, pro union with large deficit spending and broken economies. Maybe they want to lift themselves up to prosperity through hard work, ambition etc on their own efforts with sucess being applauded rather than punished as you guys want. Maybe they believe in a meritocracy and not generational welfare solutions. Maybe they want to worship their deity without the derision and bigotry that Fiesty and others like to spew forth rather than a church that hates america. Maybe they want to be in a state where there is accountability for the decisions you make in life rather than a constant bail out by your government. Maybe they are voting in their best interests.
mmnord1969
"The meth is f*ckin you all up Precious. For the love of God and all that is Holy, please untouch the two wires in your skull"
UHM.......you are so DONE.
PEN - that actually sounded like a threat you made there... do tell, how can he be so done?
Or maybe these people are bigger than your bigotry and condescension and truly believe in personal responsibility and accountability
President Obama is a bigger man than the racists and Joe Wilson Republicans who belittle him and question his religion and his birthplace.
President Obama is a bigger man than the Republican hypocrites who preach "responsibility" then risk degrading our nation's credit rating by defaulting on loans.
President Obama is a bigger man than the Teapublican Representatives who got elected promising to cut spending, then turned around and sent pork to their home districts, because "spending cuts" don't include pork projects, when it's a Republican's district on the line.
"Accountability" as a Republican trait? That's a laugh! Billions of dollars lost to fraud and waste in Iraq and no Republican will raise their hand and own up to authorizing that fiasco.
I wonder how Gov. Jindal is going to react if Rick Perry embraces the "pay for play" aspect of allocating FEMA funds...you know...no FEMA money until you can offset the amount with cuts to your state's bottom line...
...last time I looked, Louisiana is right smack-dab in the middle of "Hurricane Alley"...
Amy - you have some splainin to do.
Who are you calling a racist? What gives you the right to say we can't question his religion and his birthplace? He's a public figure and we most certainly can question those things
What republican risked our credit rating? It was the democrats that spent over $3.2 Trillion in 2 1/2 years... not the republicans. It was the democrats that brought us to the debt ceiling, not the republicans.
What tea party republican brought any pork home? Give the exact name, date and what they brought to their home districts. Name them.
What Billions of fraud was lost in Iraq? Come on and be specific to the exact type of fraud and if fraud was committed, why hasn't anyone been put on trial, brought to prison or even questioned about it?
Gee Amy - you sure can rant about a whole lot of nuttin.
"I have NO idea what Chucky's heritage is-do you?"
I believe Feisty, Bob.
The number of issues the Feisty Redhead has "NO idea" about...whatsoever...
Approaches the mathematical definition of infinity.
Unlimited, Bob.
Cut her some slack.
Have pity...
This is First Read's own "best and brightest" to carry the liberal torch forward...well, maybe its best cheerleader, anyway.
I'll bet Mark Murray is soooo proud...chest swelling.
In other words, Bob...consider the source, and try not to laugh.
This dirt bag Bobby Jindal is like Joe Walsh. What a phoney this Perry is, throw this Koch paid Bum out on his A$$. This guy has the smell of rotten tea bags all over him.
Mixed Bag of "NUTS" TEANUTS - Look in your Mirror.
Patriotic American U.S.A.-
To quote the esteemed liberal giant, First Read's own Feisty Redhead:
"Hahahaha!"
My apologies.
I couldn't resist.
Anna #1.5,
"Queen of Diamonds"... Is Callista Gingrich endorsing somebody for President?? - I don't think it's Newt, he hasn't been to Tiffany's in a while... ;-)
Brianb
Names of Teapublicans sending home the pork? Sean Duffy, Tim Scott and Rep Palazzo, for starters...read it and weep...
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/20/us/politics/20freshmen.html?_r=1
We all know about the rising star of the 2006 Democrat convention, Barack Hussein Obama, who has turned into a black hole in more ways than one. The star is dying at warp speed and vacuuming $4 trillion in two years. His fellow Democrats are running from him like toxic waste so they, too, don't get sucked into the black hole.
DBO, it looks like Palin has endorsed Perry, as she is defending his stance on Social Security. For all the rest of you who think Perry is da guy, these are for you:

Hopefully, you'll change your minds.
The T-Nut party can "Go" to Hell and Perry is weird, he looks like Satan. I think he sold his soul to the Devil.
Patriotic American Sold his soul to the devil, did Obama accept it. lol
Gee Amy, I'm impressed. The gray lady pinpoints congressional members that are trying to put together infrastructure projects such as dredging a water way so larger cargo ships can pass, rebuilding an 80 year old bridge (couldn't possibly be crumbling), replenishing the sand on the beaches so the shore will be protected... my GOSH what terrible pork projects and so against Obama's plan to put people back to work.
You see Amy, these types of projects are needed all across the country. Obama was supposed to spend the $856 billion stimulus on these types of projects. This is EXACTLY where that money was supposed to go to. Shovel ready jobs, remember? This is why he was given the funding... to HELP America, not his supporters.
In your twisted liberal way along with the idiot morons at the gray lady try to use this to denegrate congressional support for these projects by calling them pork. Your lack of understanding on what infrastructure is, is the main problem. You simply don't have a clue. To you it's all political... forget the needs. The government will have to spend the money on these types of projects and I don't care what district they go to as long as they put people back to work and the projects are truly needed. These are low fund jobs anyway.
I notice Amy, you didn't answer any of my other comments. I'll take that as confirmation that I was correct in saying them.
Oh Boy, Oh Boy !! I sure would like to get "Little Bobby-Short Pants" Jindal's endorsement!!
Hey Bobby......why don't ya just try to concentrate on YOUR state's problems.............damn fer-in-er !
Perry didn't lose the dabate; his actions as governor issuing an executive order requiring immunizations without legislative debate or even public hearings did.
Unfortunately Michelle Bachmann, rightly or wornly had it exaclty right. It was intrusive over reach that bordered on intorable. And she shined at the moment. But otherwise her performance was uneven. Mitt head did passibly well-he mention "right to work law" twice with an eye towards Michgan and Ohio-two state that allow crossover votes.
You can almost see Mitthead's steady march towards the politcal center: the right hasn't consodidated and won't as long as Ron Paul is in the race and Santorum and Bachmann are in the race. Since those bases are nailed down-the only consitutency left is the muddled middle ceter.
Muddled Middle is up for grabs. Of interest was the prescripotion drug program..almost no one soke against it. Whichi s surprising-even Bachmann was careful about that one. She wasn't present when the bill was passed.
I think the White House may have new wedge issue to use against Republican because somany old people depend on the programtolower drug costs. Wre I Team Obama -I would start exploring what could be done with prsription drugs. Keep in mind Tim Pawlenty was a srong supporter of prescrioption drugs so were Gil Gutenchcht the former Congressman "show me the bodies" who mocked opposition to importing American made drug back from Canada. T-Paw had a web site toencourge drug importation. T-Paw will push Mitt head to explore this.
I look to Team Romney to begin a program of reassurnce to senior shortly in key states that have primaries targeting this.
You see Amy, these types of projects are needed all across the country
Oh the irony, the absolutely delicious irony! It's pork when Democrats propose it, but much needed infrastructure improvement when Republicans do. When Boehner and Cantor voted to keep the $485 million dollar alternative engine the Air Force emphatically didn't need or want, why that wasn't porkilicious politics, that was encouraging competition between manufacturers! Republicans are such hypocrites. It's hilarious.
What republican risked our credit rating? Are you serious? Were you asleep during the debt ceiling debate? You didn't hear Republicans declare it wouldn't be a bad idea to default on our loans? You didn't see Republicans walk away fom Obama's Grand Bargain of cuts, because it included raising taxes on oil companies?
What Billions of fraud was lost in Iraq? You have GOT to be kidding! Brianb, I almost feel sorry for you. Are you not allowed to read the newspaper at the Home? You don't trust the New York TImes as a source, how about Fox News?
As much as $60 billion in U.S. tax dollars -- or $12 million a day -- has been squandered through waste and fraud in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past decade from lax oversight of contractors, poor planning and corruption, according to an independent panel.

No big deal kids, just another VP-wannabe getting his resume in a little early.
Move along, nothing to see here, move along.
Romney will be the nominee and he will pick Pawlenty as his running mate. Take it to the bank, it's a done deal.
The question is now whether Pawlenty is enough of a draw to overcome the negative reaction to Romney's religion. That's an unknown factor at this point. Any thoughts?
America held hostage, Day 256
Obama/Biden 2012
I see Feisty Skankhead is looking in the mirror again...
I saw Feisty's sister Wasserman Schultz on Fox this morning unable to explain how President Obama is going to pay for his new Jobs bill. All she talked about was how we should give more money to unions.
Agreed, she is very feisty and you need that in her position, but they really have to prep her better.
Nasty Skankhead??
LOL!!!
I love how free market Republicans begrudge employees their union representation, while considering the millions and millions of dollars paid to corporate lobbyists to petition congresspeople, just the cost of doing business.
Did FOX ever ask the Republicans how to pay for Medicare Part D or the war in Iraq or the Bush Tax Cuts?
JFK2112
"I see Feisty Skankhead is looking in the mirror again..."
Neat post, JFK.
Keep 'em coming.
The difference between public and private unions are that in private industry, the unions sit across the table from the private company's owners. The owner's have to be concerned with the bottom line and profitability for its bond and stock holders. In the public arena, the unions pay off the politicians in order to buy favors with a promise to ensure that the politician get re-elected.
Why should the politician from either party care about the damned voter?
Da Noid
Medicare part D, Iraqi war and the two tax cuts......Bush might have thought he was coloring when he was signing all into law.
@ thetotas --
My, my. It sounds like you should REALLY pay more attention to the politicans you elect, doesn't it?
As I recall it, Democrats are usually the ones against lobbyists and political graft, while Republicans are the ones who are mostly in favor of such things.
What we need here, however, is your EVIDENCE about which politicians are being paid off by public sector unions. Enquiring minds want to know.
Anna Molly, do you really want to go there in your neighboring state? The real question is which democratic politician in Illinois hasnt been paid off by the public sector unions. We certainly saw Obama make good use of the practice when he got into the white house as the $30 billion education bill that went directly into the union pension coffers and the interference in the GM bankruptcy reorg plan by using the government to shove aside established bankruptcy law and let the unsecured union creditors get a huge portion of the equity at the expense of the secured lenders. Is that a evidence?
By the way historically its usually the democrats who get caught in financial crimes--you know Charlie Rangel, Geithner, Waters as they like to preach one thing economically and do another but its the GOP who are the sex hypocrites who preach abstinence, monogamy, heterosexuality and then are found to be their own hypocrites ha. Do you really think democrats are against lobbyists and political graft? Again come to Illinois and explain how that works to me. Lets go to NY in Albany and explain that to me DC or California? Lobbyists are equal opportunity providers and all politicians of every stripe are in their pocket. Should we look at the Illinois lobbyists for Obama? Lets discuss the Pritzkers here in Chicago--I assume you realize they own lots of stuff right? What investment bank did Rahm Emmanual earn his $7 million in one year without any investment experience before becoming chief of staff and then this investment bank had unlimited access to the white house. Come on Anna Molly do you really think its black and white?
mmnord1969...With all those phallic references..me thinks you have some serious sexual identity issues...Please return to the bottom of the gene pool with the rest of the banana republican pussies.
TorpedoYou - could you please refrain from using slang terms that are offensive... I mean act like an adult and post like one too... not unless you are an adolescent... and if you are... mind your elders.
Anna Molly,
You need to relax that attitude. I pay attention, but here in California it really doesn't matter.
Our Governor is controlled by the union leaders, his campaign was backed by the California Teachers Association, they took attack ads out, Fund Raising, the CTA owns him. Friday he was speaking to thousands of union delegates at a labor convention in Las Vegas.
Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg worked as an Employee Rights Attorney for the California State Employees Association for 10 years….”
The Speaker John A. Pérez is a union organizer and politician, for him, it’s all about the unions.
Now we have several Bills waiting for Brown to sign, all backed by unions. I guess they are making up for lost time.
Hmm, I'll see your Jindle and raise you a Palin...
If I were Perry I would have paid Jindal to claim he never heard of me, Jindal is a peculiar twisted up dude.
Would you care to expand on your comment as to why you think he is to quote you "a twisted up dude" or is it just more empty name calling. My cousin is an attorney in New Orleans and most people in Louisiana think he is doing a great job.
All Endorsements prior to the first caucus and primary are of equal significance...
ksw, which people the attorneys or the lower and middle class working people, I remember a comment he made questioning why we need to monitor volcano's just before the one in Alaska went up. How about the volcano in Washington in 82 that was being monitored. Why do we monitor tornados and hurricans in the south. Jingles may be good for some in Louisiana but not the rest of the country, sorry he is just a little twisted up, as for dude I have no idea.
Season - who cares about how Jindel registers on the national scene? He can't ever run for president. He's not one you have to worry about. But, just for your information, the people living in Louisiana respect Jindel. I don't care one iota of what other people think of him in other states... It matters not. I lived in New Orleans for 3 years and those living breathing human beings down there actually like him. Just like a liberal to try to personally cut down anyone that doesn't have a "D" behind their name. I'll bet you would have loved Edwin Edwards... one of the most crooked Louisiana governers that ever lived. He was a democrat... and went to prison for 7 years because he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. It seems liberals only care about a person's political affiliation.
Tis there you go again with trying to call out class warfare. Actually my cousin does pro bono work for lower income people who cannot afford an attorney. Again don't understand your "twisted up" comment.
Brianb, any politician with his hand anywhere but his own pockets deserves what he gets, both parties have had their fair share of those and if Jindle stay in Louisiana and not on the national scene no issue, but when he steps into the national light such as supporting Perry then he becomes fair game just like any other politician and if you can not accept that to bad. I am glad if he is liked by the people in Louisiana but what I have seen, heard, read it is best if he stays within the borders politically.
ksw, I am glad your cousin helps those in need more attorneys could stand to do that but I was not calling out your cousin, but instead asking you to defend your comment regarding Jindle being liked by all levels of works in Louisiana and I notice you did not do that but deflected to your cousin. As for being twisted up, he does not have he has made national comments that are clearly out of his relm such as his national speach response to Obama. Living in an earthquake area and at the base of an active volcano his remarks were twisted and narrow. I am not looking for you to agree with that just note that outside of Louisiana he is viewed differently.
Season - Fair game ONLY if what's said is fair. Any old nasty piece of trash that comes out of a liberals mouth is NOT fair game. There has to be something behind what you say or it's bullsh!t.
I go against Obama all the time on these boards... but I never speak anything untruthful about him. The lies and trash talk from liberals include things that are not there about anyone that doesn't have a d behind their name. It's juvenile and truly shows the lack of maturity of most posters here from the left.
@Nash
This is from Jack Lew, the Administration's current director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
I want to be sure you send him an email to tell him that the Administration never promised that Stimulus 1 would keep unemployment below 8%. He seems to think they did.
The debate tonight will no doubt be filled with teabaggery of the highest amplitude, by the time all the candidates get through slicing and dicing up the “fedral govament” there probably won't even be a presidential position to run for anymore, I can't wait, I'm sure 10 minutes in I will be laughing so hard the floor will be covered with chicken bones I've spit up. My only question is who will Michelle Baauuckman get to endorse her between now and then? Grover Norquist maybe? Roll up a big fatty kick back and enjoy the mayhem.
W Bush, it doesn't matter what they do on stage tonight, next week, or next month. Whoever comes out on top will beat Obama and his failed policies by a landslide. To think we could of had Clinton as our President, but you guys decided to vote for some guy that had no experience and made outlandish promises...fools.
Oh, I doubt that. Most people realize President Obama has at least 30 IQ points over any of the top tier Republicans, and 85 points over Palin, and the House Republicans have proved their party's number one focus is protecting tax cuts for the wealthiest NOT creating jobs. Obama 2012. Democratic House 2012 .
Wake up Amy...the Democrats are getting ready to lose 2 more seats. Just because the president is book smart doesn't make him smart, i.e. Corpsman.
President Obama is more capable than any of the Republican challengers. I just hope we can give him a Democratic House in 2012 because he needs a willing partner in order to improve the economy. House Republicans have proved they are working to see the economy tank.
Amy,
Seriously, you think the republicans are going to walk away with nothing? How has the House Republican proved they are working on tanking the economy?
thetotas, when one of the highest ranking Republicans state that his first priority is to make President Obama a one term president, that proves they are working on tanking the economy. A tanked economy would be wrongfully blamed on the President, for sure. They have said "NO" and/or failed to cooperate and compromise on the initiatives/suggestions from the Democrats and the President. Compromise is what politics is all about. The Republicans have consistently failed in that regard. They were ready to allow us to go into default! How is that NOT working to tank the economy? You must know little about economics, more specifically -- world economics, and it shows.
Meanwhile, Dems and Independents are running away from Obama in droves and the Dems are in trouble of loosing two more Congressional seats in the elections to be held on Tuesday in NY( the Weiner seat) and Nevada.
KingK, how do the Democrats "loose" two more congressional seats? Or maybe the ring finger on your right hand has a twitch! LOL
Sorry for the typo. But if that's the best you Dems have got, give it up!!
looks like a real battle brewing between the north and the south....
I see a big fight between GOP supposed established leaders and TP. The establishment led by K.Rove, will be seeing Perry as a big risk now.
I gotta hand it to you "crony capitalist" (sarahs words BTW) banana republicans. Y'all really put one over on us. For the first time in recent memory a sitting President is actually crafting a bill for the House. We no what (no pun intended) will happen with that. You turds have been playing rope a dope (again no pun intended) for 2 1/2 years. Let's see if the public is stupid enough to fall for it in 2012.
The people on the Republican-Tea Potty side can be pretty stupid. They just believe any of this right wing garbage.
The people on the liberal side can be pretty stupid, They just believe any of this left wing garbage.
Two can play that game Job1
Do you really think Obama is "crafting a bill"?
A suggestion to Feisty and the gang (Navy, Pat, etc...) your post have become increasingly childish and petty. Chock full of name calling etc.. I'm afraid for your mental sanity as it becomes more and more apparent that Obama will be ONE AND DONE. Perhaps, as a preventative measure, you should schedule doctors appointments now, for say in February or March, so that when the real panic starts to st in deep you will be able to get prompt care.
MSNBC headline:
Didn't Obama just tell us it was fully paid for?? I guess he figures the voters memories are very, very short or that they are stupid. either way, Obama is an insult to voters every time he gives a speech. No wonder Dems and Independents are jumping ship. He has no more credibility.
Cut the Big O some slack......he's desperate. Governing is hard.
Those of us who voted for Obama will be voting again for Obama. You think we are going to jump ship to vote for what the republicans are offering?
I don't know any democrats or independents who want Perry to lead us to the rapture with his army of god who talks to god and told Perry that he was god's choice. Or Romney who was so impressed with the condition that bush left our country that he decided to hire bush's economic adviser to write his jobs plan.
You have given us a choice of perry/bush III or romney/bush III. I'll bet independents and especially democrats are lining up to vote for that.
Your choices just go downhill from there.
For the love of American Obama 2012
Some would say Obama is Bush 3.
Only the unenlightened, Ponders.
LMAO Jindal huh? They can both come to my place and I will buy them a coffee, then at least they will have coffee. Jindal is useless as he proves time and again.
Why is that Ray?
Nov '12 is going to be great as either Perry or Romney puts this incompetent President of Food Stamps, 9% unemployment, credit downgrades and 3 yr old housing crisis to shame
na-na na-na, na-na na-na, hey-hey-hey goo-ood bye..........no worries this great county will be heading back in the right direction soon....
This is bad news for Romney. RINOs and liberals are endorsing him while conservatives are endorsing Perry.
liberals are flailing about making every attempt to try to make us believe it will really matter.....#1 goal is to get fresh blood in and get O'bama out.
Perry or Romney - either one will be a great improvement and Repubs/Conservs/TeaPartiers will come out for the nominee regardless you can count on it
Who the hell is Jindal?
.
He is Howdy Doody all grown up.
Governor of Louisiana. They love him.
Come on Sarah, endorse somebody!! Please do not allow Christine the Witch O'Donnell to beat you to it!!
Most of my family lives in Louisiana. My grandfather says about Jindal, "he likes to talk."
never met a politician who didn't...
Maybe Senator Vitter will come out soon, with his fly undone, to endorse Michelle Bachman. It is priceless to have such great backers!!
Jindal endorses Perry. Wow FR......didn't see that one coming. But barely news fit for print.
At least, not like these:

Say that last one isn't so Big O! How could you lie?
http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-tout-jobs-act-donors-company_593135.html
Crony capitalism?
I'm not concerned that Bobby Jindal thinks Perry would be a fine President. After all, it is his opinion and his choice. I'm certain it will not hurt Jindal's standing with his constituents.
The Republican Party is desperate for a winner, but the prospects don't look good for an intelligent candidate. The Republican Party's rank and file has been reduced to a southern regional party and that reality is reflected in its presidential candidates. Let me first describe the rank and file.
The rank and file is made up a populist movement that is southern and underclass in its makeup. Analyze what these people want. The populist movement treasures country music, evangelical Christianity, beauty contests, redneck jokes, unrestricted freedom, and pure capitalism (federal government should not be a regulatory government). Populists are fundamentally anti-science, anti-education, anti-minority rights, anti-gay, and anti-abortion. Consequently, their presidential candidates reflect those values, although Romney and Huntsman had to flip-flop on some of their positions in order align themselves with the "new" Republican Party. Palin, Bachmann, Perry, Huckabee (southern Baptist minister), are natural, home-grown, populists who come from the rank and file base, a fundamentally poorly educated base that wants a candidate who can "holler" "socialism," "liberalism," and "communism," etc. louder than the rest rather than a candidate who can quietly analyze common problems of the Republic and present a rational, logical, analysis to the country such as Huntsman, Ron Paul, and likely Romney. Huntsman is too "intellectual;" he comes up with comments the rank and file cannot understand. Ron Paul is a social Darwinis the Party leadership believes cannot be elected. They've already thrown him under the bus; Romney will likely come in second to Perry.
Perry fits the bill of the rank and file of today's, "new," Republican Party. He has identified himself with everyone of the above values important to his base. What's fascinating is how the Republican base, given its fundamental beliefs, ends up in the Republican Party. These people vote against their own interests at almost every turn. These people, for example, who have almost no wealth support, nay, demand, a plutocracy. They actually believe a government owned by the wealthy will benefit them. How did it happen? The answer is FOX News, the right wing, extremist, fanatic Ministry of Propaganda.
FOX News is the brainchild of Rupert Murdock, an Australian "conservative" who is considered a communications genius. Murdock proposed a "news" (entertainment) network designed to "spin" news stories in such a way as to have them "connect" with the values of the largest social class in America, namely, the blue collar, working classes. He hired the best marketing experts to write news stories, and then, have them read by people who "fit" the psychological profile necessary to appeal to the "populist" masses. The key was to write news stories in such a way as to "tell" the masses what they already believe, and then, to create in the minds of his audience an outside monster, namely, "the liberal news media" that has been leading them astray all these years. Think not?? Let me show you an example of a simple, but brilliant, advertising program that is never too old to work on simple minds.
Name a corporation, i.e., Coca-Cola, Budweiser, Disney World, etc. Now, that corporation puts in an order to buy thousands of T-shirts, jackets, sweat shirts, watches, with the corporation's name clearly embossed on each product. The corporation then SELLS those items to a willing audience at a high price. The buyers wear the items for all to see. The corporation, then, has made millions of dollars selling the products to millions of buyers who, in turn, wear the items and thereby do free advertising for the corporation. You have to admit it's one of the most simple, but brilliant, advertising gimmicks ever devised.
Similarly, Murdock hired the best, highest paid, marketing experts he could find to write the news stories, and then, hired the best "news" commentators he could find to deliver the "stories" to a waiting audience, an audience as easily fooled as those who pay their money for "T-shirts, sweaters, jackets, watches, etc. etc., and then, wear them to advertise any given corporation's products. Start looking for some of the clever "tricks" FOX uses to convice you to support programs, tax policies, etc. that enhance the federal welfare program for the wealthy.
You do understand that the Democrats are ready to lose Anthony Wiener's seat.....formerly Chuck Schumer's seat.....isn't that located in Texas? You do remember the 2010 election?
Be ready for more of the same. You are in the minority.
How many T-shirts were sold with the likeness of Obama in 2007-2009? Not so many in 2010.
Doug: Yes, I remember all of what you wrote. You also remember the seats picked up by the Democrats this year, too, I'm sure. Wiener's seat is an interesting race, and so is the Nevada race. I wouldn't write Obama off just yet. Are you wearing your FOX News T-Shirt?
Doug, just FYI; Weiner and Schumer are from Queens, New York, not Texas.
Thanks Brent. Word of the day: facetious.
And thank you for the attention!. How many "seats" was that.....exactly?
Nevada is lost. Wiener's looks like it's going too. 2012 is leaning towards a bloodbath....pardon the sensibilities.
I merely pointed it out as a way of demonstrating that your thesis lacks factual support. Just sayin'.
Brent: I think Doug knows Wiener's district is Queens. I took it as a "shot" at my "southern" argument. I think that race, though, is in a rather unique, ethnic district and may have more to do with the Administration's Israeli policy than anything else. I realize the Democrat candidate is Jewish in an historically Jewish, Democrat district---and he may lose. That's what makes it an interesting race. My argument, though, is centered more on the presidential race, the only national race we have in this country. Individual congressional races will have more to do with the individual candidates in their often unique, individual districts. In some individual cases Democrat and Republican candidates will share similar values, and both may be running "against" Washington, D.C.
I think your analysis is spot on there T.
"Professional" analysts (yeah, I know) are declaring it a referendum on Democratic policy for the exact reasons you just put forth. What do you think?
Not to be taking a "shot" at you there T. But your speculation of the presidential contest smacks of elitism. You, like most of us, are leaning towards generalisation. With the implication being that all the "smart" people will re-elect Obama. Not going to happen. Dead in the water. He is not an inspirational or commanding figure. Queens and Nevada are just the fore runners to, perhaps, another 49 state conservative victory. My take.
The problem here is that the Repubs and the Dems are losing thier bases, as many more people are declaring themselves to be Independents, and neither side has a very good grip on these people. They are looking at the Republican candidates, and from what I see on many of the boards, that I visit, is that as disappointed as many are with Obama, they don't see anyone of any real value in the Republican candidates. That's just what I see. Things may turn out different, but if we end up with Perry as Pres., there could very well be rioting in the streets. By this I mean that many of the Repub candidates are too far right to be viable in the general election, and none of those that are too far to the right, appeal to those who are just right of center. They do NOT appeal to the middle, and if someone too far to the right gets elected Pres. we may end up in revolution with or without Ron Paul.
Doug: I don't know which GOP candidate you're backing, but you write as if it really doesn't make any difference which one wins. You're going to back that candidate. I'm arguing it makes a great deal of difference. They are all trying to sing "Tea Party," but some of them clearly are not in that element. Romney is the leading candidate who isn't even though he is holding his nose and saying he is; Perry, on the other hand, clearly is there. Tonight's debate might bring a little more light to that race.
Obama, interestingly enough, is closer to the RINOs than he is to the liberal Democrats. That might well cause a division in the more wealthy Republicans the closer we get to the general election in November 2012. Many of those people will not be able to stomach Perry's arrogance and vulgarity (not vulgar words but his vulgar demeanor).
Your accusation that my post may sound elitist may well be true among today's rank and file Republican Party, although in the past I voted for Richard Nixon (2nd time), Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, and George H.W. Bush. I did so because the Democrat Party left me in the mid to late 60s, and I ended up fighting the far left wing, extremist, fanatics tooth and nail. Then, the Republican Party left me in the 90s with Georgie Bush, Dick Cheney, Newt Gingrich, etc. I now find myself fighting the far right wing, extremist, fanatics tooth and nail. So, from what seems to be your populist point of view, my remarks probably do sound elitist. I really don't shy away from those kinds of accusations. After all, the leaders of the American Revolution and the framers of the Constitution were to a man, elitists. To that end, I stand by the remarks I made in my post #20 above---although I can roll up the sleeves on my shirt and still fit right in with the hard rock miners from which I came over fifty years ago.
It doesn't matter which candidate you are backing because you are backing Obama, either because he is the democrat candidate or for the man. You make the false assertion that Obama is a "RINO" ; if you have been in politics as long as you claim then you understand his past record and you understand he leans right for the same reason Clinton did. To get re-elected.
I don't fault you for your remarks or your politics. I don't agree with them....but...hey....we'll see, right?
Perry will not be the nominee. Regardless of the media hype. The republicans will be unified this time. Romney will win. Not necessarily my choice, it is what it is.....removal of Obama.
Yep...a removal of the same and a continuation of what Doug Ponders is hoping will not come to fruition. I cannot wait. This time we may have an all red congress. I wonder then what the excuse will be as to why America has yet to recover.
Anyone that endorses Perry is a total loser starting with bobby Jindal & joe Walsh. Romney is the best of them all. Perry has the stink of the T-Nuts all over him. He smells like rotten nuts.
I'm a Republican living in Texas, and I agree. I would much rather keep Perry as governor than see him elected as President. The Texas constitution sets up the governor to be a weak figurehead. At least he can't do a lot of harm here. All he has really done the past 12 years is show up at key points and times, say a few words, smile his fake smile, and then vanish and let other people do the real work.
Ron Paul for President! We need someone who will say NO to federal spending -- yes, even to Social Security if need be. Cut back spending so our children might have some hope of a good future.
Doug PondY..Remember the Party of No lost the seat in upstate NY..A seat in a highly GOP strong hold?
I do remember. Good chance it will return Republican. You do know the story behind that, right?
wasn't it a teanut tossup? three way split? no chance of THAT happening again, ever, anywhere, nope, not a chance.
C'mon Clara
One of the "teanut tossups" was a democrat plant who split the vote. Won't happen again.
It'll go Republican next election.
Jindal is not a great governor and I doubt that 60% of voters support his reelection. He has been the most absent governor for Louisiana in history. He spent so much time running all over the country trying to whip up support for himself for president. His latest agenda was to privatize prisons which the legislature did not agree with. But his most egregious attack is on the state retirement system that is very successful. He wants to privatize this program to get his greedy hands on school teachers money. I know there are plenty of people in the school system that are not going to support Jindal.
Bobby my ass, his name is Pyuch or how ever you spell that stupid name.
Politics are politics, Bobby Jindal is a good governor for Louisiana , I live in New Orleans, he endorsed Perry because he is from a neighboring state and Texas helped Louisiana by taking in it's residents after Katrina hit.
Do I like his choice? No, I perfer Romney but I respect the choice he made and I understand that he is looking out for Louisiana's future. Will I vote for Perry, Probably not but it definately won't be The Big"O".
Richie, don't you know that MANY states took in Louisiana residents after Katrina hit?
