WASHINGTON -- Speaking to an annual gathering of religious conservatives in Washington D.C., Texas Gov. Rick Perry again worked to hone his message on immigration by pushing aggressive measures to address border security and the drug war in Mexico.
"There is no security without border security," Perry told an audience of activists at the Values Voters Summit. "And make no mistake about it. What we are seeing south of our border is nothing short of war being waged by these narco-terrorists. They represent a clear and present danger to our country."
Echoing a sentiment he voiced in New Hampshire last weekend, he added, "We shouldn't take any options off the table, including security operations in cooperation with the Mexican government as we did with Columbia."
Perry's remarks at the GOP confab also included a heavy emphasis on his pro-life record, including a hinted tweak at his main rival, Mitt Romney, who spoke in support of abortion rights during his 1994 Senate run in Massachusetts.
"For some candidates pro-life is an election year slogan to follow the prevailing political winds," Perry said. "For me it's about the absolute principle that every human being in entitled to life."
Before he took the stage, Perry received the endorsement of Southern Baptist Convention Leader Robert Jeffress, who contrasted Perry with Romney – who is Mormon – on religious grounds. "Do we want a candidate who is a good, moral person, or one who is a born again follower of our Lord Jesus Christ?" he asked.
Jeffress told reporters after the event that Romney's faith is an issue for some GOP voters who are part of the born-again community.
"I think for a lot of evangelical Christians that is a huge issue, even if it's unspoken," Jeffress said of Romney's Mormon faith.

Where's bag boy when you need him??? lol
Will you look at this?
To think bag boy's been visibly wetting himself worrying about First Read! lmao!
Talk about false indignation...
This sounds like a indirect flip flop for the Governor who welcomes children of immigrants.
Uh Oh, Perry is like Mittens; not good.
Let me guess, he proposes to send our Military to Mexico.
Looking for a 'good moral person' at the Values Voter Summit?
....Why can't they find at least one?
That's too funny!
I had no idea those two things were mutually exclusive.
LoL This is a line straight out of a Tom Clancy novel and the movie by the same name.
In which the President himself was in league with the drug cartels.
To say this comment is unfortunate is to perhaps understate it.
It's too late to be strong on immigration Rick. No republican will look at this seriously. Personally, as a Democrat, I think it is a riot! First you support the Dream Act and then you want to go back to the usual republican tactic of scaring the crap out of people. The republican elephant should be replaced with chicken little.
They're not - the point I was trying to make is your little buddy's been beside himself worrying about the conduct of FR posters - when it's Perry's OWN campaign that is beating that drum.

Apologies if something got lost in the translation.
Hey hey, Johnny-Come-Lately Perry. You're like the last guy who's finally agreed that we need border security, which you neglected for 10+ years in Texas. Of course he'll blame the feds, when he doesnt want fed assistance in anything for Texas. He has the largest national guard contingent in the US that he couldve pushed to guard the border more. However, the big reality is that Perry and his Big Business masters WANT those illegals in America so they can drive down salary costs, businesses don't have to pay taxes and benefits for their illegal workers, so they can have their mansions cleaned by slave illegals and their estates kept clean and trim for the cost of a loaf of bread. Yeah, Perry is really concerned about this illegal situation.
@ Feisty -- my comment was intended as irony. I should have winked.
Sorry.
Yep, the Mormon card just got played......
I knew it!
It's been a long week!
*wink wink*
"The Mormon card just go played."
The good Rev is just saying out loud what everybody, including Romney's 2008 Campaign manager has been saying for years.
The so-called christian right is NEVER going to accept a candidate who is anything less than a born again christian like themselves. Michelle ma belle knows that is and playing to that crowd all this weekend hopes of reviving her dying campaign.
This cards been on the table for months now.
The interesting question is, will other's play the Mormon card as well now that the good Reverend has played this his trump card.
I'm just not sure if this is Spades they're playing or "Hearts".
If the latter, I guess Bachman is the Queen of Spades.
Perry needs a plan for the borders and not a "fence" like Mitt that sounds good but is impossible.
Robert Jefress=albatross. What an un-Christ-like comment. Ugh.
Let's see - not only to you have to be good, you must be a very specific religion in order to get the far right nut cases votes. It just keeps getting better!!!!
They are not a clear and present danger to our country as HE IS.....
So Romney wants to spend money to put up a secure fence between us and Canada so terrorists can't use that border again like they did to carry out 9/11? If it creates jobs I'm all for it!
Ooops! Mixed Romney up with Perry. Sorry people! These perfect hair, middle aged, Viagra models all look alike to me. Is it Happy Hour somewhere in the U.S.A? I sure could use a Mango Margarita!
There's no security without border security
There's no security I knooooooow
Everything about it exciiiiiiiting
Toss in 'war' and it becomes so friiiiiiightning
Narco-terrorists makes it so inviiiiiiting
Like no business I know...
This is probably the most ignorant statement I have ever seen made by a Pastor against a Mormon. I am an Atheist but I have over my many years read and mingled with people of a great many religious beliefs. I must say that I believe the pastor should not be so blind as to say he has the final say so on who is a Christian and who is not. And for a Governor to not take offense and to let stand the comments by the Pastor when introducing him. For the life of me I cannot understand when I hear that the only true believers of Christ are the "born again Christians." What about all of the Christians in this world who were Christians before the term "born again Christians" arose as the only believers. Even though I am not a believer I must believe that the Mormon religion is a Christian Religion. After all, look at the name of their churches "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints." I believe that there is good in all regardless of their religious beliefs. I know that I have had many Christian friends, and still have, who have stood by me and others because they are good people. I believe that a person should believe in whatever they wish as their religion and their savior.
Lookie here OldRed, I know me a whole passel of God-loving Christians. You keep up that kinda talk and they'll kill ya, cuz they love Jesus fer sure, even if he did give health care fer nuthin'.
I agree with you, Old Red -
There is a common thread that binds religion, philosophy, and character:
The Golden Rule.
All the rest is confused.
Why just the South Border? Al Qaida seems to like to come in through Canada. I say, build a 100' high fence, buried a mile deep all around America, out to the international waters line! Then, we can all stand along the top, hold hands, and facing inward, sing, "We are the World."
What's more, this is a shovel ready minimum wage job! If the GOP is in control, I bet we can get the Illegal Aliens to build it for us. There will have to be a little door in the south, though, so they can get their estate help in.
NO terrorists entered the u.s from canada for 9/11..this myth is incredibly stupid!
YOUR country let these saudi students in on visas and YOUR country let them through security.
and you attack Afghanistan, but DON'T punish the Saudis because you will do anything for oil. How pathetic!
Ahhh...at long last....the GOP JOB PLAN:
Get rid of illegal immigrants....then all the out of work Americans can have their jobs. (Just watch them crow about all the "job creation" after this) Picking fruit, cleaning toilets, pulling weeds, digging ditches...all for minimum wage or less. That and breaking the unions ( they are working on that one) will ensure that their corporate masters make unlimited profits in the years to come as the middle class evaporates into a distant memory.
TruePatriot-445959......"Let me guess, he proposes to send our Military to Mexico."
LOL....Mr. Obama has already done that, along with DRONES:
Next will probably be Drones with missles or another U.N. "Humanitarian Effort".
Mr. Obama does not get it.....SECURE THE DAD GUM BORDERS FIRST, then deport ALL Illegal Aliens (Immigrants) and see what happens to the total City, State, and Federal government costs in Housing, Education, Food Stamps, health care, et al.
Yep, get rid of illegal immigrants.....after they are taken to Federal Court for violating U.S. FEDERAL Immigration Laws and serve appropriate time in Jail.
So Mr.Perry since you are the governor of Texas, a states right's advocate, and have advocated the succession of Texas from the Union what have and what are you going to do about it. Let's see you gave illegals college education benefits and saw no reason to have firemen to fight fires in your state. Good job (sarcasm)
Under Article 4, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, the federal government must abate "foreign invasion." The Dream Act and other amnesty schemes aiding and abetting illegal aliens violates this law and federal mandate by condoning and rewarding "foreign invasion" and not abating it. Therefore, such proposals or new laws are highly illegal even if created by Congress. However, there is a much more serious legal issue at play with the Dream Act.
In the event the Dream Act is passed, it will signal to all Americans that their federal government has gone rogue and no longer respects or adheres to the U.S. Constitution. Hence passage of the Dream Act is a very serious offense against the American people.
This would be a violation of dozens of federal laws, not the least of which is "high treason."
Washington, and our President fail to uphold the law to all illegals, picking, and choosing which illegals they want to uphold the law on. It seems their above the law in Washington.
I don't understand all the hostility towards the Dream Act. Its only beneficiaries are people who were brought here as children and didn't have a real say in if they wanted to be illegal immigrants or not. Besides to be eligible to get anything from the Dream Act one has to be working towards college or in the Military and trying to get citizenship. To me that seems like these people would be good additions to the civic body of the United States, especially the Veterans who conservatives love to yell about how much they support, then turn around and oppose any bill that would help actual vets. The Dream Act does not signal an invasion. Any way relegion really has no place in the political debate, good and moral sounds good and the relegion practiced by any candidate is really none or our business.
Is this guy still around? He's quickly becoming a punch line, won't be long before the Repubs employ the grapple hook..
Hot Dog Now we're going to invade Mexico. That'll show "em who's The Big Boss man
Not forever.
Just long enough to close that "open sore."
Given Romney's intentions for the century, I'd make that about 88 years, counting from January 2013.
Maybe Slick Rick is itchin' for the 'Remember the Alamo' thingy! movies......
...Probably won't end the same way.....and would that be before of after the secede thingy?
Chilled you know you might not be that far off with the Alamo Thingy. To here all the talk around here about Fast and Furious you would think the Mexican drug cartels are better armed than our Marines.
[Hot Dog Now we're going to invade Mexico.]
...yeabut...
...yeabut...
...yeabut...now who's going to pick Spanky's kumquats?
"counselor" loves him some kumquats...
So the question is when we annex Mexico will Texas simply absorb it or will we Texans share the spoils with the rest of the states. After all, it would be pretty cool for Texas to have beaches on the Pacific. Texas beaches on the Gulf are pretty crappy, so even Cancun beaches would be a big improvement. We could give New Mexico and Arizona some of northern Mexico and California can have Tijuana and some of he Pacific beaches.
Annexation would probably be less expensive than building the fence and it would end the problem of illegal Mexican immigrants permanently.
Hey Loyal if you would block all the low life liberals from the mid west and north east from visiting your gulf beaches they wouldn't be so crappy. You don't have to worry about union's they take the same two weeks in the middle of summer, you just have to leave home for two weeks until they return to the mid west and north east. The welfare liberals are programmed to sweep out their filth once every ten years for the census. They have to find all the welfare dependants so they can be counted.
Independent Redneck Va. ....."Hot Dog Now we're going to invade Mexico. That'll show "em who's The Big Boss man."
Heya questionable "Independent [Liberal]".......Your "The Big Boss" man has already begun the process of the invasion. See post # 1.24.
How do you like them apples.......War #4.
So riddle me this connies: If we "build the fence." Who is going to pay for it? Just askin.
You haven't been paying attention- Perry has said, more than once, that a fence is not the answer. He rightly points out that all a 30 foot fence will do is spur the market for 35 foot ladders.
He's talking about law enforcement- and offering aid to the Mexican government- the way we did with the Cali cartel. Remember that?
Without our aid, the drug trade from that area would still be rampant.
Mexico has serious problems- including corruption within the ranks of their law enforcement- and the intimidation of those members of their law enforcement corps who are not corrupt.
Walking guns over the border into the hands of the drug cartels was NOT helpful.
Offering to take part in a joint force will help.
Too bad Obama was for the former, rather than the latter.
Well, whadda you know? A story about Perry and the border, and No Jo manages to work in .....are you ready?........OBAMA!
It ought to be a surtax on conservatives, or a tax on those big Mexican trucks that will soon be rumbling up and down our highways, but somehow it will end up being a surtax on us.
I have a great idea. Let's cut Medicare to fund it. After all, Medicare will go broke some day anyway.
Tell you what, dbo- inauguration day 2013 will be the LAST time I mention Obama's name.
He'll be gone- we'll be working on recovering from the disaster of his administration- and, unless the nitwit actually thinks he can run and win in 2016, you'll never hear about him from me again.
Unlike most of the posters who are still members of the cult, I am not voting for somebody who is going to sound his first four years blaming his predecessor.
Well nojo...The question remains: How much will it cost to "defend" our borders as Perry sees it? And how will we fund it?
As a former FFL holder who had lots of contact with the ATF (whose focus on trying to criminalize storefront dealers was wrong headed), I agree that the current AG should be held accountable if he lied to congress. No excuses! Connies are right on this point. However in fairness, you can tag the former administration just as well.
Best solution for Mexican drug problem may be to put the entire country under martial law and treat the cartels as military targets.
Let's staart by at least charging the cartels for all the guns we give them.
But then again - I'm just J. I want a free AK from the government.
Seen the polls lately, Jo Jo? Seems like the prez isn't the only one 'blaming' someone else....
nojo - members of the cult? You mean the Tea Partiers I assume. Only cultish group I know of around here. And, come January 2013, when President Obama is sworn in again, you can look back at the entire group of idiots the GOP is running and figure out why!
*snif* *snif*
...what's that smell...Oh, it's only Spanky crapping his diaper again with a reference to F 'n F...
Torpedo:
[As a former FFL holder...]
I bet "counselor" didn't have one of THOSE to add to his "resume" floating around here FR...
I hear it's quite...
...unbelieveable...
What? No connies on this thread either? Guess they were pretty well "Spanked" on the Romney foreign policy thread earlier!
That thread was a real beaut, wasn't it? At least we can all see what the barometer reads on THAT subject.
Awww, Torpedo you were doing so well today. Shoot I thought you had a decent chance of getting through the whole day with out a shout out to me.
Well Nojo got Feisty, I got you.
So Torpedo, I are in favor of illegal immigration then? No need to secure the old border, just let them in willy nilly?
How about Alabama Torpedo, you think the states should be allowed to enforce existing immigration law, and with hold government services to illegals, or do you side with Obama's decision of sue Alabama?
And how about the results so far in Alabama Torpedo - looks like a huge number have self deported already. Now just think what would happen if employers faced mandatory jail time and immediate non-appeal able loss of business license for the hiring of illegal aliens?
Oh and what's up with Lady Torpedo? Still screwing people out of lawful coverage and benefits? Gosh an attorney working for a insurance company - I sure hope she isn't writing coverage letters - cause all the insurance companies do these days is deny coverage, right Torpedo?
Still have a baaad case of "Torpedo Envy" I see spankster. Sorry but I do not recall addressing you today..Are you sure you are not just another delusional connie sociopath? So lets take your feeble minded queries one by one.
1. I am for a version of the Braccero Program. This "Path to citizenship" is CRAP..What makes you think that ALL these people want to become citizens..Some just want to work and support their families.
2. Alabameee..That is a federal responsibility unless state law enforcement is certified by ICE..Yes to answer you question. Seem to recall we fought the "states rights" thingy over 150 years ago. Wanna bet that the courts will strike down that portion of the law? You can paypal me the money!
3. Jail time for employers who KNOWINGLY hire illegals....Yes! Self deporting most likely for a lack of jobs in a recession.
And you never did answer my whistle question the other day: Do you suck or blow?
Gosh Torpedo at least come up with you own lines. "Torpedo envy?" That's all you got?
And see Torpedo the easy and obvious response to your last question is simply: ask Lady Torpedo.
Is that what you really wanted?
I didn't think so.
But as to your points - I tend to agree with #1, a court has already ruled on #2, and we are in agreement on #3.
Neat huh? So you stick to the issues, and listen to yourself - it was just yesterday you said you leave me out of your comments, and we'll be all fine and dandy.
Spanky, how does it feel to be the First Read @!$%#?
...it's what you do best...
Wife doesn't have "torpedo envy>" But you clearly do. And BTW I can hear myself fine. Question is though, does anyone hear you?
Torpedo Just a guess, uh Taxpayers...
Mexico does have lots of oil. Then again, Canada has more. Hmmm
"Mount up, boys, we just found out Mexico has WMD's... supplied by Canada!"
Border security costs money.
The money has to come from taxes.
Small little issue Perry seems to not understand.
Just one of many.
Like when you use stimulus money to buy down your state deficit, all you're doing is tranferring your debt onto our credit card, and then blaming the President because our credit card balance got bigger.
Border security does cost - but as I am about to head out to Arizona this afternoon for one last trip to the lake before it starts getting cold, I am reminded of all the check points, fences and man power out there. Many times there is more "La Migra" rolling around on the freeway than regular traffic.
Plus letting the illegals in cost far more. Just ask the US hospital system - billions every year in unpaid medical costs. Then there's the prison system, and just about everything else here in Cali.
And don't fear - the illegals are headed your way. There are so many of them here, they have to spread out.
Naa, much better to use taxpayer money to subsidize the solar panel industry. Cause someday it will be cheaper to make them here than in China.
Oh wait - Apple can't make an I pod here cheaper, so why are why wasting money on solar panels again?
You gonna take your guns Spank? You know Tech 9's are illegal in Cali...Then again you never much taste in firearms! Last post today..got work to do.
No need to take them Torpedo - I got a set here, and I got a set there.
Not really a tech 9 kind of guy. I am thinking about getting an MP 22 [Smith and Wesson's .22 version of the AR15] for one of my boys.
[I got a set here, and I got a set there.]
Sure you do "counselor"...any more lies?
Oh, I see you couldn't get through today without denigrating someones' wife...you must be so proud of yourself...it is simply uncalled for, but not for a bottom feeder like yourself...
Spanky,
You actually reproduce? I'll betcha you'll be like your boy Mitt and advise your sons to avoid military service. After all that's what connies do best. Never serve your country, Serve yourself!
We need to build a fence on our border with Canada. All of these Canadians are coming here and taking our acting and singing jobs.
So Amy - what is up with it being cool for you all in Maine to be hating on the Canadians, but we here in Cali are bad for hating on all the illegals?
Amy, that seems a little hypocritical, no?
Odd thing to claim when you throw down the welcome mat by giving the children of illegal aliens in state tuition.
He's from texas, what do you expect.
The way the president has handled terrorism, the Arab Spring, and enforcement of immigration laws with record deportations is much preferred -- Thanks but no thanks, Rick Perry.
not so true patriot.... you mention the enforcement of immigration laws with record deportations, what a joke, what a laugh; I would only agree to a certain extent.
Yes he has deported many illegal aliens who have committed crimes, but has continued his attempts at passing the dream act.
Not so spectacular on his part, the immigration laws don't say that you can come here illegally and stay if you behave yourself, the laws say apply for entry and you may or may not be allowed to come.
I have the feeling the list of "issues" that the Southern Baptists have with any non-white, non-male, non-bible thumping candidate is quite long.
Strange words from a governor who has done next to nothing to improve border security.
Damn straight. The state of Texas is overrun with illegals, sucking up all of the government assistance from American families in need.
Don't buy this crock from Perry. He's just saying what the GOP wants to hear. He, and the governor before him, have not attempted in the least bit to tighten security on the Texas border.
Why would he want to spend Texas money on it?
His plan is to build the fence using federal money, and then go back to Texas and secede.
Why does all the ideas and suggestions that the conservatives on this forum put forth involve inreased spending? Where is this magical money source? How is it money can't be spent on our infrastructure, to help the needy and get us energy independent but it can be spent to help Mexico, Columbia, Afghanistan, Iraq.. man this is depressing.
kingofmyhill,
Tell me, how much is it costing to FIGHT the legislation the states are putting in to fight illegals? It seems the fight against immigration would be very cheap if we just let the states on the border implement the laws that are a mirror of the Federal Laws we currently wont enforce.
I say the first (and cheapest) steps would be to let the states use the laws they passed. Let the states who are passing these stricter rules implement them. The states will attract businesses and population and others will follow suit.
No need for a fence if the laws use common sense. Punish employers. Eliminate welfare for illegals, No public education at all for illegals. No free treatment in hospitals, prepay only for illegals, and get deported if you show up there and dont have papers. They come here for jobs. If they cant get a job, they dont eat. School test results go up for education as we no longer have to teach English as a language. Companies who employ illegals go under as they are out of business if caught.
States are willing to have these fights and implement these laws. So LET THEM.
And we can be energy independent, but the current administration blocks all attempts at that. The current federal gas tax is suuposed to pay for infrastructure. Where is this money? Oh, they spent it on something else. Probably some program that benefits no one but the pay nothing voting block the dems are building..
So in short,
1) Dont spend money on it, let the states do what they are begging to do with illegals.
2) Stop spending the money already being collected for infrastructure spending on anything other than what it is for.
3) Get the EPA out of the way so we can be energey independent (which would also create enormous amount of jobs.
ABO 2012
Read my lips! No new Texans!
Boarder security is not the answer. Build a fence, and they will tunnel in, go around and over. Why do these people come here? Simple, obvious, answer: Work and drug-running.
Crack down on employers hiring them. There goes the incentive for the working illegals.
Stop the "War on drugs". This has been the single biggest drain on our economy and is un-Constitutional to boot.
Instead, the right wants to demonize the "illegals" and disregard the Constitution, all the while continuing to support the failed ideology that causes the influx. Ron Paul has a few things that I agree with; this is one area.
Indeed. Show me a ten foot fence and I'll show you a Mexican with a 12 foot ladder.
After the fence, you build the trench on the other side. They'll also have to bring ropes. ;-)
More Security what for? population control? the only thing this country needs is more law abiding citizens owning firearms. the 2nd amendment is home land security.
A few quotes that inspire liberty:
"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of people
always possess arms, and be taught alike especially when young, how to
use them." (Richard Henry Lee, 1788, Initiator of the Declaration of
Independence, and member of the first Senate, which passed the Bill of
Rights, Walter Bennett, ed., Letters from the Federal Farmer to the
Republican, at 21,22,124
(Un"The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear
arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in
government." -- (Thomas Jefferson)
iv. of Alabama Press,1975)..)
"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are
the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence ...
From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events,
occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and
happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable . . . the very
atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference - they
deserve a place of honor with all that is good" (George Washington)
This is a pinnacle moment in the history of the US, yes the 2nd amendment applies to this news story. We have the left that wants a socialistic form of government and the right who wants a constitutional republic. It boils down to this; the left want to ban all guns the right wants to keep their god given rights. We could be looking at the beginning of the 2nd American revolutionary war. the far left want this. you can see this in what they do. Homeland security population control watching everyone. The left just took the side of the protesters in NY and other places look at the violence. Tea parties are peacefully demonstrators. The left want to get rid of capitalism. What are they going to replace it with communism? In Communism all the money is collected by the government then distributed to the people equally. What they don't tell you is that the people get very little.
Sport Your missing a big sale down at the Piggly Wiggly on tin foil. Looks like your hat needs replacing 'cause the one you have on appears to be bringing in the wrong wavelength.
Nice quotes...by people who were alive when the musket was the cutting edge of firearms technology. How about these words for ya?
Well. regulated.
Somehow the gun nuts can always construe all the other words in the 2nd as saying everyone has the right to guns, with no limitations whatsoever. Yet they entirely ignore "well regulated". Never have I heard a good explanation of how "well regulated" is so easily ignored, but "shall not be infringed" (as part of a militia) is held up as the final be all and end all statement of the 2nd. Sorry, no. Oh, and where in the bible, new or old, does it say "thou shall pack heat" to support your "god given" statement? Again, no. The constitution was written by men, with all the strengths, flaws, and shortsightedness that still plagues American politicians to this day.
I was at Cabela's today with my 6 year old granddaughter. She was looking at a showcased 50mm rifle and asked what it was for. I explained that it could hit a target a mile away. She surmised that the gun must be used for hunting buffalo. After all, what other reason could there be to own a 50mm rifle that can punch holes in a tank?
You sure wouldn't want to use it for hunting. Heck, there wouldn't be anything left of a deer to eat if you shot it with a .50 caliber rifle.
How about we build a new high voltage low hanging grid right along the border, we tell the democrats it is the new grid needed for our present and future energy consumption and distribution, we tell the republicans it is a giant bug zapper of sorts designed to protect the border. Build the dang fence and the dang grid at the same time, high security Nukes could serve as generating stations, border patrol, and homeland security centers at the same facility.
How about this: legalize all drugs - shut down homeland security - stop giving free health care, welfare and free educations to none citezens. that would also stop the illegals from crossing and we'd save billions also end the street gang wars we have here in US.
How about charging the Mexican government the cost of border patrol?
How about asking the Mexican people if they would like to be the 51st state. that would create alot of jobs lol The rich would swarm there for the beach front property. building boom.
Every human being is, not every lump of cells. That distinction is between a woman and her doctor and you guvmint meddlin types keepa you hands off.
Border Control is...
Tiger Pits with stakes
M14 or M16 anti-personnel mines
12-15 foot concrete steel re-enforced wall with a 5-8% outward slope and topped with razor wire.
He may talk a good talk, but he has been the governor for 12 years now and he has not anything to help the border security. Except allow illega childern to go to college at a cheap rate!
Such a hypocrite. Sure we need to close the borders, but hey lets use tax payer money to pay for their education.
As long as they don't come down like a hammer on employers with business confiscations, massive fines, felonies and lucrative whistle blower programs nothing will change. These actually create revenue instead of costing tax money. Thee racism or civil rights issues are almost non existant.
Building a fence to keep illegals out is like stopping prosecuting drug dealers and users but "build a fence to keep it all out"........... Yep, that ought to work... lol
All it does is drive up the prices for Coyote's and human transportation rings as well as increasing drug and gang warfare. All these things COST the taxpayers money.
Going after employers will shut it down fast. All we have to do is direct traffic back down south and hand out bottled waters. All building a fence does is create more "lobby" run federal contracts.
There's no security when you have a prohibition that creates massive black markets.
.
