ROMNEY: He again echoed that he thinks he has a “good shot” at winning Iowa. “There’s a good shot I might become the next president of the United States,” he said in Iowa, per the Boston Globe. “It’s not a sure thing, but it’s a good shot.”
He also said in a general election he could compete in Massachusetts.
The Wall Street Journal op-ed page goes after Romney again, per GOP 12: “Mr. Romney has every right to cling to theories that were flawed in conception and have proven false in practice, though the rest of the GOP field has the responsibility to challenge his canned answers. The mental contortions that his health-care record requires need to be dissected—the way Mr. Obama will do if Mr. Romney is the nominee—to give GOP voters a chance to weigh the political liabilities that his candidacy might pose in 2012.”

It's going to be fun seeing all the ads where Republican after Republican referred to Romney as arrogant in 2008. Now, flash forward and see Romney speaking in 2011, where he again says he's likely to be the next President of the United States.
Well what was supposed to be a lock for republicans, has now been downgraded to a "good shot".
Pretty soon it will be "a real, if slight, chance."
Richard you are sounding a little scared right now and you shoud be afraid very afraid. Cain is not going to be in the run much longer and its going to be Romney vs Obama so yes be very afraid and by all means keep telling us how much you are afraid.

romney is supporting the personhold bill in alabama which is what he said on hucklebee..that live begins at conception which would not only make abortion illegal but the pill....he didn't even understand the question posed to him by a young lady in iowa.....just laughed it off ....outlawing the pill....hmmmmm no big goverment there....
And there's an equally good shot that he won't be the next President!

The establishment at this point is resigned to Romney because at least they trust him not to lose too much support. He doesn't say much good, but he doesn't say much bad, either. He's Slick Willard, the political chameleon. He won't fit in perfectly in any situation, but he'll fit in a little in every situation.
The Republican strategy is to let this cycle play out like most cycles in down economic times - make the election a referendum on the incumbent's handling of the economy. Romney is their candidate for that (only because of this extraordinarily weak field).
And this time, it ought to be a slam dunk - both for the current economic realities, and the very real fear that things are going to get far worse. Remember it's a global economy. As bad as things are here, they are worse pretty much everywhere else, which is why the dollar (despite our reckless management of monetary issues) is rising in recent weeks. And the rising dollar presents its own problems, further adding to global (and our) woes.
But it's not. Either because of the president's political abilities or the opposition party's incompetence (probably a combination of both), it's still a horse race. Democrats ought to realize if the Republicans were still viewed nationally as a party of serious grown-ups, this one would be over before it started.

I am a disabled veteran with psych and physical ailments from my military accomplishments between 1990-1993. I don'tpromote or DEMOTE political campaigners but I can tell you I was on 7 psych medications and chose to stop taking them over a year ago. I have a service dog (MARLEY) she helps with my anxiety levels but without me using “Black-market” marijuana its harder for me to control, without marijuana the ARTHRITIS in my back would be more painful. I have a young friend of mine who is diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis) he too benefits from the effects. I say to you the readers KNOW-THE-FACTS…..If it’s legalized it too would stimulate the economy by shutting down unneeded prisons and government spending on prison guards , low-level law officials and programs like” NARK” and “DARE” that eat at local community budgets(This would put the MONEY back where it came from Social Security, Healthcare and WEL-FARE). These are local programs formed by the government under the “war on Drugs” with money bribes to your local politicians. why do you think we all want to know now “WHERE DID THE MONEY GO ?”How about the $$Billions The IRS pays out to ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS under the ACTC (addition child Tax Credit) , ITINs (Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers) have become increasingly linked to fraudulent tax claims which is said to be over $$ 4 Billion a year.It’s hard for me to believe the Agency LACKS the legal authority to challenge such tax returns!The budgets are done every year the money is hidden in programs!!!Have we forgotten we gave IRAQ “GRANTS” to rebuild not LOANS ? How about the tsunami $$ to Japan to rebuild or to Indonesia to rebuild OR HAITI after their earthquake to rebuild ? I have an IDEA use US tax dollars to help the US TAX PAYER……….The sad part is we the people didn’t vote for that congress did for us. when we have a crisis we don’t have the money .
