Bachmann camp courting S.C. consultant

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Michele Bachmann’s campaign may soon have a new addition to its South Carolina team.

Republican consultant Wesley Donehue said Bachmann’s senior South Carolina adviser Ron Thomas asked him to join the campaign to help with communications and strategy here.

Donehue added that he would help the campaign this weekend as a trial run before any firm decision is made regarding his position with the campaign.

“I have promised to help them Friday and Saturday," he said. "And that is as far as it has gone."

Bachmann’s husband Marcus will be here today and tomorrow and will submit his wife’s filing papers at the South Carolina Republican Party headquarters this afternoon. Tomorrow, he will address the South Carolina Federation of Republican Women’s annual convention, while Bachmann will speak to the group via Skype.

Donehue runs Columbia-based political Internet firm Donehue Direct, whose clients have included South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint and Rep. Joe Wilson. Donehue also leads political and communications strategy for the South Carolina Senate Republican Caucus.

Donehue is a former colleague of Republican consultants Warren Tompkins and Terry Sullivan (now Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s chief of staff) who led Mitt Romney’s 2008 South Carolina campaign.

The Bachmann team also made staffing changes in Iowa this week, naming Republican operative Eric Woolson campaign manager. Woolson served that role for Mike Huckabee’s campaign in 2008.

I hear Faux Noose pays really well... Losing her bid for the GOTP nomination should be pretty lucrative for her. Just ask the Mad Trapper she quit her day job as the Governor of Alaska for those perks.

Hey- way off topic, but all this Cain and Bawkmann talk is getting me down.

Let's change the subject for a few minutes.....

Reading about this proposition26 in Mississippi about abortion, and an ovum being a human once sperm and egg are untied, I make the following 2 observations:

1) If ‘it’ fails to attach to a uterine wall, and is ‘rejected’, doesn't ‘it’ have to be documented via a birth certificate or at least some certificate recording it’s existence and demise. ‘It’ must be properly disposed of, too? Casket? Cremation?? (by the way- does ‘it’ have a gender?)

2) Also, if ‘it’s’ environment was altered intentionally to prevent ‘it’s’ being nurtured and being allowed to continue to enjoy 'life’, and that constitutes a crime, then something tells me the EPA is going to be around a long, long, long, long time.

Now, who on the right wants to argue or comment?

Fiesty needs to attend a seminar on being nice to those with whom she disagrees. But George Soros doesnt fund those seminars, does he?

"Why are you loser mooonbats still hanging around First Read, snarking at GOP Presidential candidates?"

Because we don't have 'constituents' that have hired, and pay us to, represent them in stead of getting on here and posting comments and opinions?

Y' think, Einstein??

Last time I checked, big Bob numbers, FR is still available to any and all who choose to come and the right to an opinion still exists--at least until the GOP takes away those rights. If you don't like what liberals have to say, then don't come here or stop whining about it.

If only the general election could be held in Iowa alone - then Bachmann might have a snowball's chance in hell! These people seem to have more money than sense, but considering Donehue's promise for just Friday and Saturday - maybe there's not that much money either.

This South Carlina guyis good-if she can keep him. Thebachmann staff hasbeena revovoing door-hardly a sign of stibilty the countr yseeks, If she can't keep her own house inorder, how can shehope to run the coutry?

If she is going to win she is going to have to take on Herman Cain and talk about his racially charged comments oaboutsocial secirty and "elderly white women". She can also make in roads with Cains comments about "braiwashed balcks" and distance her self from thel ikes of that. Michelle has never been aperson to talk about race. So challenging Cain wil lbe a big thing for her-her district in M innesota is lilly white and she never has had toreach out to blacks or others.

The realcurical thin gis goingto be areblack going to re-register as republican to vote for Cain-because this is closed primary wher eindiepents cannot cross over, And race plays a big part in South Carlina politics. Geoge Bush won because of phonecalls claiming McCCain had fathered a black child-which were totally unture. McCainlater won the South Carlina primary against Romney because themedia remeinded everyone of south Carlina's dirty history of mudslinging.

Whatever happens it will be a broadening experice for her.

Bachmann Hires Loser on Trial Basis to Help Her Campaign

Donehue is a former colleague of Republican consultants Warren Tompkins and Terry Sullivan who led Mitt Romney’s 2008 South Carolina campaign.

The results were a last place finish for Romney...

In 2008, Romney positioned himself early as the one to beat, building a campaign rivaled only by Arizona Sen. John McCain's as the state's best financed, staffed and endorsed. Romney earned endorsements from U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint and Bob Jones, the now-retired chancellor of Christian fundamentalist Bob Jones University in Greenville.

But questions about Romney dogged him. He couldn't persuade religious conservatives to look beyond their skepticism over that or his reversals on social issues...

Donehue, a political consultant on Romney's 2008 campaign, said the campaign team was "never sure how to deal with it."

You've got two days, buddy...two days to make Michele Bachmann into a winner........do the words silk purse and sow's ear have any relevance? LOL.

the only strategy that will win it for Bachmann in the South is to declare herself the Virgin Mary and that all of her kids, including the ones that she adopted, were conceived via immacculate conception.

You never know, it just might work in the South!

Unless you call the illegal production of marijuana work.

Rod,

Not likely to work. The only religion that believes in the Virgin Mary and Immaculate Conception is Catholicism. Not many of those in the South.

Plus Bachmann better not have any minority foster kids. Remember what they tried to do with McCain's Indian adopted daughter in SC? Bush's people tried to pass her off as a black love child right before primary day, so the candidate didn't even have time to respond.

I thought the Cain Train had already laid down the tracks in SC, when the "Bachmann Gravy Train" hits the "Cain Train" it could get messy, be on the lookout for a black male train and a white female train to become a possible political train wreck or derailment for the republican railroad.

Recently on internet radio show Center Stage the topic: The 2012 GOP Presidential Candidates, was discussed. The top six front runners which included Buchann, Cain, Romney, Perry, Paul and Gingrich were all covered. Their voting records, experience and personal histories were all laid out. It would be wise for everyone to look closely at who these people are before going into the voting booth in 2012. This is by far the most important election of our lifetime. If you have NOT done your research on these candidates this is the cheat sheet of all cheat sheets. You may be surprised by some of what is revealed. Take a listen to this must hear podcast if you wanna know who worked for the federal reserves but thinks they should NEVER be audited, who has ownership in a clinic that makes claims to cure gay people from homosexuality, who once had a hunting lease on a property called Ni**erhead, who had multiple affairs while spear heading an investigation into Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky and so much more.
