More 2012: Pardon the interruption

MISSISSIPPI: Political Wire notes: “Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) ‘granted full and unconditional pardons to 193 criminals -- an unusually high number for the state, and one that is likely to inflame controversy about Mr. Barbour's pardon practices,’ the New York Times reports. Jackson Clarion-Ledger: ‘Barbour's pardons of murderers, including four on Friday, already had incited a storm of criticism. His additional action further fueled public outrage.’”

What I find more interesting is that Georgia has NINE 3rd grade math teachers using slavery in their math instruction.

One question posed to student was if Fredrick Douglas received 2 beatings a day, How many would he have gotten in a week.

Ahhh....progressivism at it's best!

Quick! What are the teachers' names? How did they register to vote? To whom did they donate?

IT'S GOTCHA POLITICS TIME!!!

How about just saying, "It's deplorable," and moving on?

How about saying "It's deplorable", do something about it and then move on?

Given that Rob is in Massachusetts there is very little that he can do directly in regards to the situation. I feel that my post covered what an appropriate response should look like.

This happened in a Georgia classroom and you think it was the fault of progressives? FYI: there may be a few progessive teachers in MA, but it's less likely in the Southern schools.

Amy way up in Maine thinks the entire South is 100% beerbellied yahoos in trailer parks.

Stereotypes of any ethnic group is racist, except groups that liberals disdain : like Southerners.

Good call, Amy. There are no progressives in public schools in Georgia. They all sit around drinking mint juleps.

LOL

And "a few progressives in Massachusetts schools" ? LOL

Massachusetts union -run public schools might as well put up a sign: "Conservatives Need Not Apply"

Oh boy, Bob, I said nothing about beer bellied yahoos in trailer parks in my post, just that I doubted progressives were to blame, as Rob in Ma claimed, considering it was the Georgia school system. So you equate conservatism with beer drinking and general stupidity? I'd say your true opinion of your fellow travelers is showing!

So, Amy B. is into beer bellied yahoos in trailers?? Kinky Amy.

Maybe you need to move a little more south though.

Has Barbour said why he did this? On the face of it, it seems a dangerous and thoughtless thing to do.

but New Day Dawning, Barbour is a Republican governor, so it's OK. Surely you know only Democratic governors are bleeding heart pacificts and soft on crime (isn't that how Bush SR beat Dukakis in 1988?)

I seem to remember Bill Clinton selling pardons during his last days in office. Anything for a buck. While Hillary was stealing White House treasures with both hands. Now that is your typical Arkansas hillbillies.

Agreed. On the face of it, it makes no sense at all. Too costly to house them? They were innocent anyway? Barbour getting in touch with his softer side? Asking him won't help as Barbour is the king of spin and grin. Maybe it was something he ate.

This guy is a right wing nut I will admit. I am a Ed fan daily. I just know that this guy had proof beyond a shadow of a doubt of these folks innosense. I read several studys and 74% of our youth have no faith in any court. 74% of our youth state they have witnessed or know someone who has been convicted of a crime they had no knowledge of. Todays courts only produce conviction rates not justice.

I now support one GOP. He is a Hero.
