More 2012: Warren's $5.7 million haul

MASSACHUSETTS: Elizabeth Warren raised $5.7 million in the fourth quarter, the Boston Globe reports, adding, “Warren’s overall fund-raising for those few final months of 2011 outpaced Republican Senator Scott Brown’s total for the same time period. On Monday, Brown’s campaign released figures showing that he collected $3.2 million in the final quarter of 2011 and raised a total of $8.5 million last year. Still, Brown still holds a strong advantage, having accumulated $12.8 million in his campaign account, a record amount for any Massachusetts candidate this early in the election cycle.”

MONTANA: The New York Times, per Political Wire, writes about how Sen. Jon Tester brings meat with him everywhere he goes. "Taking meat with us is just something that we do. We like our own meat."

Nothing pleases me more than to see Elizabeth Warren's smile, knowing that it scares the hell out of the financial services sector thieves.

Oh, and then there's this...

I hear all this, you know, ‘Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever.’ No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own—nobody.

You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces [sic] that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory—and hire someone to protect against this—because of the work the rest of us did.

Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea. God bless—keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is, you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.

Rob in ma- According to OpenSecrets, almost all of Elizabeth Warren's money has come from individual donors. Of those donations only around $65,000 has come from the financial sector. Scott Brown has raised over $1.5 million from the financial sector.

Pick up the Boston Herald. She admits she's getting money from Wall Street.

The hipocrite has the temerity to say that her Wall Street donors want reform. I guess her Wall Street friends are okay, it's the others that are thieves.

    What a complete fool.

Although the MA Democratic Party primary election is not until September, Elizabeth Warren is heavily favored over the other contenders to compete against Brown.

There is plenty of out-of-state money coming into MA, and Super PACs are already going after Warren (as the presumptive DEM nominee).

Brown doesn't always stay lock-step with the Republican Party, but I don't know if his occassional moderate positions are sufficient to keep him in his seat.

Just wait until the Supreme Court sponsored PAC start to kick money into Scott Brown's campaign.
