Congress: Bachus under investigation for insider trading

“The Office of Congressional Ethics is investigating Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-AL), over possible violations of insider-trading laws, the Washington Post reports. “Bachus, who holds one of the most influential positions in the House chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, ‘has been a frequent trader on Capitol Hill, buying stock options while overseeing the nation's banking and financial services industries.’”

Bacchus, god of wine, theatre, and ecstasy...ironic, isn't it? Maybe this Bachus thought he was above mortal (insider trading) laws too.

Republicans think their interests and the nations' are one in the same. I'm sure he doesn't see anything wrong with using his position on the committee to profit himself.

(Profit is good! Rich people can do whatever they want! Success breeds success!)

I think they should all be investigated and not just for the insider trading

any of them that own a business or company should never be allowed to work on any bills that will allow them to have inside information giving them an advantage over other companies of the same type

Allowing the lobbyists to be conveniently situated has corrupted the ethics of our uninvestigated employees i.e. politicians. they do not consider that gaining information that is exclusive to insiders should be dealt as illegal ,and that is merely the tip of the decline. All of them, without exception, should be thoroughly investigated on the completion of their second term.

Yer, the Gopers mantra is always do as l say but not as l do and if you wait long enough, that is another hour, what they said is reversed as the wind blows or if our Potus initiates similar action. It is alright for the GOP to rail about big govt. as long as it is not to their ideological bearing, but once it fits into their idealogy big govt. can suffice. Big govt. can traverse a womans body even dictate how it operates, even celebate male priests knows what is good for women against their doctors advise, believes and faith can now trounce science as far as small govt in the conservative mantra is made up to suit their intransigence's.

I was watching Joe this morning listerning to the Bishop of Washington ignorantly lecturing us about the churches freedom of religion been abridge because women have to be treated for an ailment that is peculier to women alone not men and these men have the effontary to claim it abridges their freedom of worship and believes. Let me make this observation, did white southeren slave owners not make the same demand that keeping other humans as a possession is their god given rights because it has been practiced for hundreds of years. They should know as Rev. Al Sharpton rightly observed that we keep a traditon until we know longer find it plausible. Catholic clergy, Jewish clergy, or Islamic clergy should know that women who knows were it hurts are the one whose freedom are been trampled upon not men. How many men have mensural cycle? Only women can speak on this issue not any man.
