Latest Obama stop: Leno

Barack Obama seems to be everywhere -- he was in Iowa for Sen. Tom Harkin's steak fry; he campaigned with virtually every Democratic candidate last fall; and as we mentioned earlier, he's heading to New Hampshire next month. And now this: NBC's "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" has announced that Obama will be on the program this Friday.

It's unlikely that Obama will reveal his 2008 intentions to Leno. But also remember that it was on the "Tonight Show" where Arnold Schwarzenegger first announced in 2003 that he was running for California governor.

Hmmm...wonder if he might also come mow my lawn or at least milk my zebra? Then we could really evaluate his stripes. But thanks, guys...it is really nice to know that Savoie Faire is everywhere...as in "who gives a tinker's da*n?" By the way, we know Arnold; Arnold is a friend of ours. Brrraaaaaak, you are no Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In a Quinnipiac University poll about the likeability of a list of politicians who are most likely to run in '08, entitled "Kerry comes in last in likeability, etc, etc" there was a "live vote" for the users, which had some surprises. No surprise was that Bill Clinton rated highest at 16%, (so far). What was surprising was that Bush pulled a big 11%!!! He started out with a 6.5 or thereabouts, but as I've noticed in the past concerning such polls, your working class Republicans, [no, not an oxymoron], tend to dribble in late, along with others who reside on a more southerly end of the IQ scale, so that hourly, I began to lose a bit more faith in citizens of Dogpatch regarding their ability to learn from past mistakes. The top Repubs were McCain with 11% and Giuliani with 12. In the Dems column, second to Clinton, Barack Obama, with 14%, (to Hillary's 4.5 and Condi's 4.9),which was up to 15 or 16, (to Clinton's 19), until the Longnecks and Redheads started straggling in. But you see, this is likeability. Do you vote for a candidate just because you like him, as happened with Bush? Well, I'm not a political junkie, but I'm going to venture a couple of predictions: 1. Obama will run in '08, big surprise. 2. Further out, Republicans will dip well below gays on a scale of acceptability, where they will be situated between illegal aliens and members of al Qaeda.
