Midterm Mania (Yes, Still)

Tomorrow brings the final runoff of the 2006 cycle in a district that could change partisan hands.  Recent polls suggest that former Rep. Ciro Rodriguez (D) is closing in on Republican incumbent Henry Bonilla in Texas' 23rd district, but as the Jefferson race just showed, turnout is the volatile and key X factor in any special election.  The Washington Post says the close race reflects the downside of former GOP Rep. Tom DeLay's mid-decade Texas redistricting.

Whew! That was scary. I thought maybe it was going to say the Supreme Court had invalidated all the elections and named Republicans the winners in every one.
Our leading cabal wasn't able to complete their destruction of The Constitution, they ran out of time. There was a time I was afraid they may try to declare martial law and suspend the next presidential elections, thus keeping our napoleon in power. Thankfully, he and his crew proved to be so inept and so bad, even some of their kool-aid drinking buddies have jumped ship. I think it is time to spread some democracy and nation building HERE, in the good ol'USA for a change. Hopefully the next crew will see it that way and not just spread open their wallets like their predesessors. Was rummy looking for a new place to live this weekend? He is most assuredly more welcome in Iraq than in many places in The States:-)
Rummy and Dick have vacation homes next to each other on the Cheasapeake Bay. They are next door neighbors. So, one criminal next door won't tell on the other.
But rove just gave a speech in which he cecried all that jerrymandering of districts. block by clock house by house. So, I would think, but would not presume to mean tom Dealy's jerrymandering in Texas. Rove's speech to the Hillsdale College Reuublicans in D.C. left me very confused. At the end he praised Harry Truman, a President from the Democratic Party. and the audience clapped. What about Nixon and Reagan and Bush I? I could not follow it, but maybe it was to early or too late.
