Finally, somebody from Iowa on the Daily Show. Tom will be OK. He has a sense of humor, though not a angular as Mr. Stewart, not as pompous as other, more conventional, TV Hosts, and not as calculating as most politicicians. He should do OK. Common sense stuff we have in abundance in the Hawkeye State. The USA could do worse than have Vilsack for President, in fact, we already are.

Good comment, Steve. I am reminded of the Smothers Brothers show where thay had a split screen of Nixon, with each side saying something different as if he was talking out of both sides of his mouth. Talk about satire coming to life!!! I think Vilsack is a good candidate because he has passion, he hasn't had any scandal associated with his administration and he has a sense of humor.

Hey, C'mon - after Bush The Lesser, who could object to anyone? What sort of rabid moron could be more destructive or divisive? The duck has a shot. How uninformed and uninterested would someone with the murkiest of pasts have to be before you could call "fowl"?

No kiddin' guys. Being President is so easy, even a Cave Man could do it. In fact, a Cave Man would be an improvement. I'd settle for a gecko.

As a long-time fan of Jon Stewart, I'm dismayed at his recent inference (during an on-air interview with Presidential historian) in which he stated this race will be most interesting if voters select John McCain and Obama as the candidates. After this implied endorsement of Obama over Clinton, he referred to those other than McCain/Obama as "machine candidates" - indirectly including Hillary Clinton in said category. FIRST: Jon better get better informed. When it comes to "machine politics", it is Obama who is supported by Chicago's notorious "Daley machine" and was marched about in the media for Kennedy family support. That, despite Clinton's endorsement by 3 of Bobby Kennedy's family, including the arch-antimachine activist, Robert Kennedy Jr.

I am stunned by Stewart's jumping on the media's sloppy facts portrayal of Hillary Clinton as "machine backed". I am also disappointed that Jon, with his enormous independent voter influence would issue an implied endorsement of anyone. If he keeps up this trend of unfair bias, I probably won't be the only educated white woman who drops his show as my #1 favorite.
