Gonzales under fire

Posted: Friday, March 30, 2007 9:22 AM by Mark Murray

The Los Angeles Times says Sampson's testimony "could be a major blow to Gonzales, who is struggling to hold on to his job in the face of growing criticism from Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill"

The New York Times adds that the White House repeated its support of Gonzales yesterday, “while acknowledging disappointment with [his] handling of the dismissals. ‘The attorney general has some work to do up on Capitol Hill,’ said Dana Perino, a White House spokeswoman, adding that President Bush “wasn’t satisfied with incomplete or inconsistent information being provided to Capitol Hill.”

Fired Arkansas US attorney Bud Cummins spoke out yesterday at the University of Arkansas, where he said Gonzales was remiss for not placing a ‘firewall’ between politics and the work of the Justice Department.

Not if we have anything to do with it.We are the falsely accused. RUTUS.
How does it feel to be a Bush supporter now, when half of you have jumped ship? What are you saying to yourselves? That those bailing out are the dummies and you are the smart ones? Have you been paying attention when every piece of legislation that comes across Bush's desk favors the super wealthy at the expense of the masses, and Bush is getting writer's cramp signing onto them? What is BushCo doing in the way of keeping Halliburton from skipping off to Dubai with your children's and unborn grandchildren's tuition money? Anything? Does anybody know? I think that would be a good assignment for Repubs on this board. Find out what is being done to recover the taxpayer's money that Halliburton and several hundred other contractors in Iraq have stolen, while Bush, Cheney etc look the other way? It's your money. Bush just a few months ago cut funding for America's nursing homes, which are already hovels using minimum wagers to watch your gramma. Do you care? He did the same thing in Texas when he was governor there, after he replaced Ann Richardson who was better than Bush in every respect? Can you spell propaganda? Keep your eye on the ball, y'all. Working class Repubs are the low folks on the totem pole, right above the homeless and the working poor. You have more in common with illegals than you have with the CEO of Exxon.
WHEW! Desmond, I was worried there for a bit.
I say the same thing I did in 2000 Thank God it wasn't Gore, and in 2004 Thank God it wasn't sKerry. Not my fault you people are so stupid you keep throwing out loons.
seano: Sir while you attempt to place all people who do not agree with the current administration under the term "lefties" unfortunately you fail to realize that there are a large number of "True Republicans" who also do not accept what this administration and his cohorts in congress have done to this nation! I, as do most realize that the removal of the AAG's was completely at the discretion of the POTUS. What has caused me and many others cause for concern is not that he did it, but the way it was done, and the way it was explained. Please look at your pocket constitution the next time you remove it from your pocket and see if it designates a particular political party as being supreme, or in charge of any one of the three branches of government? If you wish your views to be held with any respect, perhaps you need to make your points without blaming any one that was in office prior to the current administration!! Have a pleasant evening and enjoy the view from the Ivory tower that you have placed yourself in.
Dave, Tn: Simple question, when bUSH took office, did he appoint all 93 of the AAG's? Were the ones replaced recently some of the one's that he appointed? If Gore had been elected, would we have still had an attack on this nation on 9/11/2001? If you answer yes, give me a link to back up your answer. Thanks in advance.
Why does the right wing have to result to insults and name callingon this site?
RUTUS members, meet up tonight. You know the P.O.Box
Okay..adjust that tin hat and get ready. Here comes the "beam" "Surfing With the Alien"- (Joe Satriani)
"No one knows what goes on behind closed doors," Charlie Rich.
Don't thank God for the "resutlts" of 2000 and 2004, Dave. It wasn't His doing. He just allowed it to happen to test us.
The President's and the Attorney General's favorite quote, "Give me no reasons, give me alibis" from Crystal Gayle's "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue?"
Seano! Your my favorite. Is that the constitution in your pocket or are you happy to see me? Considering the original constitution is five pages long, that BETTER be the constition. If not, you've just gained my respect! If it is though, and you really have been lugging it around for at least several weeks, then you really should have it memorized by now. You know Seano, I think a lot of people look at your wild posts and think your a radical jackass. I'm here to defend you though. I know deep down inside your a sensitive, lonely, careing person who is just looking for attention. You can be my friend Seano. Buddy. Ken and Seano, BFF.
...Oh, and i forgot to mention my team.
blacksheep: Typical of you that even when we agree on a subject you feel the need to disagree with me. Read my post again, with objectivity, and notice we're on the same page on this one.
"Eating Raoul"--A movie.
And, oh yes, there is no Desmond & Co. We all were labelled under the same P.O. box by another blogger . Kinda like the President, "Either you are with us or you are against us." He, of course, at the time, I assume was talking about al Queda. The blogger was just talking about bloggers who did not agree with him.Well , if you read those sentences together, you might come up with the same conclusion. Imagine that.
I named RUTUS but am an "Outsider".Because I am.....
Seano, read the part in the Consitiution about there being no litmus test for public office or has Gonzo rendered that little section quaint? ?You read the Constitution once a week my ass.
Mr. Pope said:>>blacksheep: Typical of you that even when we agree on a subject you feel the need to disagree with me. Read my post again, with objectivity, and notice we're on the same page on this one.<< Actually I was not disagreeing with you, I was only reinforcing what you had said and posing a question for the forum about what the true motivation for the response of the AG possibly could be! Trust me, if I disagree with you, I will ensure that your have no doubt that I do! Have a great weekend!
5,000,000 e-mails can't be wrong. The road to political and social repression is down the heretical road of blasphemy. One must surelty believe tha Jesus did die for our sins, especially the Pat Robinsonites and their dimwitted ruler boy George and his vampiric alter ego heartman.
