Is Tancredo in?

From NBC's Mark Murray
The AP is reporting that Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., will announce that he's running for president on Monday. A Tancredo spokesman wouldn't confirm that news to us, but did say that the congressman will "make a big announcement on his intentions" on Monday -- at a Des Moines, IA radio station.

If he jumps into the race, Tancredo wouldn't be considered a front-runner for the Republican nomination. But he and his staunch opposition to immigration would certainly influence the GOP race. At least two Republican candidates -- John McCain and Sam Brownback -- support comprehensive immigration reform, something that Tancredo vehemently opposes.

There you go, Darren. Will Metallica endorse him? Seriously, I enjoyed the concert yesterday, and actually agreed with some of your observations.
For his safety, I hope he doesn't walk too far in one direction. He may fall off.
Seig Heil! If you like Hitler you'll love Tancredo. He's the very last person in the running who should be President and besides his well-known opposition to immigration, here's another reason why: He doesn't seem to consider Louisianians to be Americans. Accusing her leaders of corruption, he has been a staunch opponent of providing the rebuilding aid to Louisiana that she needs and has a right to receive to make her whole. I wonder how, unless there's been some sort of political trickery in his Colorado district, he's managed to be elected to Congress as long as he has, given his hate-ridden views. It's fortunate that he's not considered a front-runner.
Tancretin represents my district. At least the race should keep him busy so he can't do any more damage...
I don't think a one trick pony like Tancredo will pull many votes from other Repubs. I thought Stephen Forbes was the last of the breed but voila! Another. I personally understand his feelings on illegals, since I feel the same way about Republicans. I would be willing to trade one Repub for one illegal until America is rid of these pesky critters. And I think illegals would be well qualified to take over the former jobs of working class Repubs, like pizza deliverers and those guys that bend over to reveal their butt cracks when they fix your sink.
This should make Darren Pope very happy.
JIrby - What if the illegal was a Repub? Would you still make the trade? :)
Pat Paulson for President"
Trancredo is a racists and supported by many known race organizations in Colorado. He is not very popular with Washington Repbulicans probably for that reason....
By gosh, Ryan, you've got me on that one. I guess we'd have to shoot him/her/it. Or we could maybe hire himherit to guard the border and shoot anything that tried to get back over here. Glad you brought it up. We've still got shome shakedown to go. I came up with the principle, its up to the commoners to figure out the details.
Olivia some people would consider trancredo's stance on illegle imigration and not to waste more money in Louisiani positives, I do. Keeping illegal aliens out of the country or deporting them does'nt make you racist does it? And everyone knows new orleans should be returned to the sea where it was meant to be. I personally will be voting for the democratic candidate because of other issues.
Construction cleavage is a crime against nature.
Darren, where you at? I thought you'd be on this blog like a duck on a junebug.
He's been busy at another sight.Or else his twin has.

The only thing I like about Tancredo is his stance on illegal immigration. I was born and raised in Arizona, and I don't think illegal aliens should be allowed to break our immigration rules and be rewarded for it. There are legal ways for immigrants to become citizens. Immigrants who have become citizens legally don't take kindly to those who don't think the law applies to them. Our country takes in more legal immigrants every year than any other country, and many of them come from Latin America. We take in more immigrants who come here legally on work visas of various sorts than any other country. We are not keeping immigrants out. What we are doing is allowing businesses and individuals to bring in illegal alien immigrants so these businesses and individuals don't have to pay American workers a decent wage and benefits. And almost 6 years after 9/11, we still don't have our borders and ports secured. I am not a republican, but I do believe we should secure our borders and not reward people who break the law. This is the one thing I disagree with the leadership of the Democratic party. Mexico is one of the richest Latin American countries, as far as natural resources go, but the money from its wealth doesn't go to benefit the people. In the U.S.A., the great divide between the top 2 or 3 percent of wealthholders and the rest of us is growing at an alaming rate, but Mexico has an obscene division between their "haves" and "have-nots." The Mexican government is sending their poor here so they can send money back to Mexico, so more of their own citizens can pay coyotes, who don't care at all for these people, to bring them across the border and then leave them to die or be raped. Our Social Security numbers are being stolen so they will have documents. "Undocumented" workers doesn't mean that they have no documents, it means that they have someone else's documents. This is against the law also. Why is it okay to allow Mexico to break our laws and dictate our immigration policy? We do have borders. We are a sovereign country. We are not yet the Union of North American States, even though President Bush's dream looks like it will eventually be reality the way things are going.
Tom Tancredo! I'll guarantee I'm the only person on this blog who at present would even consider voting for Congressman Tancredo, but if any of you are willing to listen, and I mean REALLY listen to what he has to say, you might be swayed. Wanting to protect our borders does not make you a racist. No nation can survive, no matter how strong it may be, if it allows unchecked immigration. At present we have 1 million legal and more than 1 million illegal immigrants pouring into this country. Not all of them want to be Americans. Legal immigration should be cut to about 250,000 a year. Illegal immigration laws need to be enforced. Celebrating cultural diversity is fine, America is, and always has been aculturally diverse nation. In the past immigrants to the US came because THEY WANTED TO BECOME AMERICANS. Many now are coming for other reasons. Sure, many Mexican illegals are coming to the US in search of work. They are hard working mothers and fathers who want a better life for their families. That is understandable. We all want the best for our families. Most of us don't violate the law to obtain it. Laws have a purpose. Why is our government ignoring immigration law? One reason and one reason only. They see new voters, and both parties are scrambling to win them, at the expense of everyone. How do you think it was possible for more than 12 million to get here? At whose expense? Many illegals are receiving public assistance, at our expense. Go to your local emergency room. You will see one of the reasons our health care costs are rising. Many illegals seek treatment in hospital ER's and never pay for the treatment. We do, in higher costs. And don't tell me that there are American citizens doing the same thing, I know, the key words there are, you guessed it, AMERICAN CITIZENS. We can't help every poor family in the world. It would be nice, but it just isn't possible. Illegals are said to be taking jobs that Americans won't do. BS. After the recent round-up of illegals at a Tyson Chicken plant, where hundreds were arrested, hundreds of Americans were lined up to apply for jobs the next day. Americans Tyson wouldn't hire before the round-up, because they could pay the illegals less than a living wage. So, those of you who advocate illegal immigration and saying they are only coming here to work are also advocating exploitation of illegals, abnd violating the law. Come to America and let us pay you next to nothing to do our dirty work! What other laws that we don't agree with should we ingnore? Noy only ignore, but violate openly, flaunting our illegal activity? I have used this example before, but here goes for those of you who missed it. In the early 80's I worked for a landscaping business. I started at $7.50 an hr, eventually getting $9. Now, more than 20 years later, the landscaping/lawn maintenance indusrty is one of the nation's largest employers of illegals, if you apply for a job in this part of the country you can expect to be offered around $7-8 an hr to start. NO WAGE INCREASE IN MORE THAN 20 YEARS. This is true of many manual labor jobs now, and will spread to other industries. Construction labor is another job that has seen little wage increase over the last couple of decades. These were jobs a young man just starting out could make a living at 20 years ago. Now, no. But, TOM IS NOT A ONE TRICK PONY! LISTEN MY FRIENDS AND YOU WILL HEAR! He isn't a single-issue candidate, the GOP and the Dems would love for you to believe that. That way he can be easily dismissed as a racist scumbag and no one will pay any attention to him. One of the reasons I like him is because the NEITHER parties' elite want you to hear from him. If the big dogs of both parties are trying to silence him, you can bet that means he has something to say that is worth hearing. Is it wrong to be proud to be an American? Why are Americans constantly apologizing for who we are, and what we have? Why all of a sudden does wanting to secure our borders, and protect our nation and culture make you a racist? IT SIMPLY ISN'T SO! I know, because I want these things, and I know my heart, and I AM NOT A RACIST! I am as far from racist as anyone could be. I have friends, yes real friends, of varied race, creed, and culture. I don't think they're a threat to me or my nation. I had this girlfiend once who was half Africa-American, half French, and boy, oh boy could she...well, that's for another blog. There simply isn't space here to say everything I'd like to say, I would just close by asking you all to look beyond the top-tier candidates. If not Tom Tancredo, then someone else. We have to stop letting the elite chose our candidates for us. The elite look out for who? The elite. Look for candidates they say you shouldn't pay attention to. The ones they say have little or no chance, and no, I don't mean Hillary.
MK,MO--So "everyone" thinks New Orleans "should be returned to the sea" where she was meant to be--define "everyone". People living in New Orleans or who want to return to their homes there obviously don't think so. Nor do people who've traveled to New Orleans, love that beautiful city even with her warts, and appreciate her culture, which is the most one-of-a-kind in America. I've previously gotten flak for repeating myself so here's a cross-reference: As for the vital importance of New Orleans and Louisiana to this nation and to the economy, read my post under "White House, Reid Spar Over Iraq." Out of curiosity--what do you have against New Orleans that makes you want her "returned to the sea."?
"Do you know what it means....to miss New Orleans?...."--Louis Armstrong

If we would recognize that Illegal Immigrants are being used "Economic SLAVES" (ie substandard pay and living conditions) then we could deport them for humanitarian reasons.
