Gonzales under fire/Bush agenda

It's Friday the 13th so what better day for House Judiciary Democrats to get unlucky in their search for Karl Rove emails. The RNC says it is having a hard time finding four year’s worth of those emails. By the way, this is the last weekend that Alberto Gonzales can cram from his big testimony day next Tuesday.

The Democratic House campaign committee is running a second radio ad targeting Rep. Heather Wilson (R), questioning her involvement in the US attorneys controversy. It will start running in Albuquerque during drive time on Friday morning and run through Tuesday (the day of the Gonzales' testimony).

Here's an excerpt: "In Washington Alberto Gonzales, the Attorney General of the United States, is testifying under oath about his role in the firing of U.S. Attorneys. But here in New Mexico, no one is getting the truth about Heather Wilson's involvement in the scandal. Wilson said a constituent's complaint led her to call Republican U.S. Attorney David Iglesias about an ongoing federal corruption investigation.”

In his weekly National Journal column, NBC political analyst Charlie Cook offers an intriguing defense of Bush, especially on immigration. "Although I disagree with Bush on the war and agree with him on immigration, I admire his grit and resolve on both. Yet those who disagree with him generally give him little credit for his tenacity and don’t even concede that he is paying a terrible price for his advocacy on these issues.”

Rove rightly or wrongly could be the EVIL BOY GENIUS in a super story.with a mix of old but honest supeerheros dedicated to protecting america riding to the rescue with VITURAL VITAMIN MAN shouting an E_MAIL A DAY KEEPS the prosecutor away!
Gonzales bleats loudly that he has "nothing to hide." Never turn your back on someone with "nothing to hide."
Given that Gonzalez' attorney is pleading the 5th Amendment AND the clear fact that these USAs were fired by Gonzalez for reasons NOT related to their performance or documented evaluations; he certainly does have deceitful, if not criminal, activity to worry about. Now I wonder why he decided he should not have become an officer -- not able to handle life by the honor code?
What did every body expect, here is an administration that came into power under lies and deceptions. Gonzalez's only experience that mattered to Bush was his ability to lie, just like everyone else in this administration.
I haven't read the whole thread, but in my limited experience I'd like to say, emails don't disappear. The sender has a record, unless he deliberately destroys it. All of the receivers have a copy, unless they deliberately destroy them. The mail server keeps a copy, unless someone deliberately destroys it. There are backups of the emails, unless someone deliberately destroys them.

If you want to see bills for ex parte conferences with federal judges go to D of colorado 02-1950 filed 4/12/07 docketed 4/13/07 I am a U.S. citizen with no criminal record but I was jailed by a federal judge for over 4 months for engaging in pro se litigation. I was not indicted, I was not found in contempt of court in presence of court, there was no evidentiary hearing. I was told that I was not entitled to a jury or an evidentiary hearing. There was no term, no bail, no conditions for release. This was to benefit Lloyds of London and Mutual Insurance of Bermuda. Kay Sieverding 608 848 5721, 641 basswood ave, verona, WI 53593
