More debate over the Iraq bill

From NBC's Mark Murray
Another day, another dust up over the Iraq supplemental. This morning, before he departed to New York to talk about his No Child Left Behind education law, President Bush blasted the legislation a House-Senate conference agreed upon yesterday, which calls for the “goal” of having all US combat troops leave Iraq by March 2008. "They know I'm going to veto a bill containing these provisions, and they know that my veto will be sustained. But instead of fashioning a bill I could sign, the Democratic leaders chose to further delay funding our troops, and they chose to make a political statement. That's their right. But it is wrong for our troops and it's wrong for our country."

On cue, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid fired back with this statement: "While ten more of our brave men and women died yesterday in one of the deadliest days of this war, President Bush continues to offer more of the same: a failed policy that has our troops mired in an open-ended civil war that risks our security at home."

Bush is beyond belief. Hes a total loser. He doesn't care about anyone except himself at this point.
Poor Presidident Puddin' Head - all those years of a rubber stamp Roman senate and a compliant, unquestioning press has left him dazed and unable to assimilate this new sensation he gets in his flight suit when he doesn't immediately get his way, no matter how stupid. It's only a matter of time before he orders all Americans to change their underwear every 30 minutes, and to wear it on the outside "so we can check." Viva El Presidente Jorge! Not just anyone can make Hugo Chavez look safe, sane and reasonable.
I really don't see how anyone can logically argue with harry reids statement but I suspect someone will.
On cue? What is meant by that exactly?

Well Georgie - if you would have been in school during NCLB maybe you would have learned about the Constitution of the United States and the separation of powers that it enshrines. Must be hypocritical to discuss education when you are the one lacking the basic understanding of our Democracy.
Hearing bad news at the doctor's office is something the Vice President is just not used to.
Harry Reid, do Not sway, as the majority of America is with you in this struggle. Toe-to-Toe as Congress shows the leadership this country so Desparatly needs. This admistration still thinks the base is the majority of America & plays to it Only. However his base has shrunk to under (30%). We see the Pain in his face as he struggles with this new found Opposition to his unchecked policies. The World yearn's for leadership in these troubled times, brought on by the Reckless cast of character's occuping the White House. Delusional thinking by Common sense American's is past. Given hell Harry!!!!
Give 'em hell harry ? He can't even get past pelosi. What a wimp ! If he had any balls he would cut off funding to this war immediately and bring the troops home. Unfortunately , politics won't allow harry to do anything but look like a puss on tv. Show confidence, speak up, stand up for what you believe. Everytime I see harry I wonder if his balls are in nancy's purse. CUT OFF FUNDING NOW and take responsibility for the aftermath , you puss.
Bush is a loser, I agree. He doesn't know when it's good to compromise. You can't have your own way all the time, but Bush just throws a fit and then thinks everyone will give in to him. Sooner or later, the tantrums don't work. How was he raised, I'd like to know. "Born to Lose" by Ray Charles.
What we need are Bush and Cheney voodoo dolls....
Olivia, you're our New Orleans expert. If anyone has any contacts for those dolls, it would be you!
As for Bush's No Child Left Behind program...it has been a total failure. Teachers hate it! Ten more soldiers killed today fighting a war that isn't even our war. For God's sake, why don't we get out of there and let the Sunnis and Shiites fight their war and the other Mid East factions can decide who they want to back, but we simply cannot defeat the entire Middle East. Anyone who can't see that George Bush is mentally deficient must also be mentally deficient. Please - somebody stop this maniac before he destroys the world.
