Florida moves up primary to Jan. 29

From NBC's Mark Murray
Well, it's official: Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R) has just signed legislation into law moving up his state's presidential primary to January 29. As the AP writes, "The move will put [the] primary behind only the Iowa and Nevada caucuses and the New Hampshire primary and on the same day as South Carolina's Democratic primary."

Yet as we've mentioned before, there are potential problems: Both the DNC and RNC have threatened to penalize the states that move up their primaries and -- also in the DNC's case -- even the candidates who campaign in them.

The Giuliani campaign was the first out of the gate to comment on Florida's official move. "Rudy Giuliani is the candidate who will win in Florida," said campaign manager Mike DuHaime in a statement. "We have a strong and growing team on the ground, and the Mayor’s optimistic vision for the country is resonating across the state."

Iowa's 'Wrestle-Off" and Nevada's "Brothel-Off", still are ahead of Florida's "Lift-Off".
NOT ONLY WILL FLORIDA HAVE IT'S PRIMARY ELECTION ON JANUARY 29TH, IT WILL DO SO WITH "NEW" ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES ,WHICH WILL LEAVE A "PAPER" TRAIL.
Hooray for the Cheater State.
If Florida and other states which move their primaries up before Feb. 5 (which I seem to recall was the date given in a previous post on this topic) end up being penalized by the parties' national committees, what's fair about that? I mean, if it's O.K. for Iowa and Nevada to have THEIR votes before that date....
Lots of Floridians came from another state and brought their cheating habits with them. The area that made the most trouble is full of NY transplants.
I'd love to see that situation arise, in which both the DNC and RNC will find themselves in the situation of having to decide whether to follow through on their threats. Could be good theater.
If they came from new York, it should give Hillary the game, since everyone knows nobody in New York has any common sense. Now,I must get started on getting ready to teach those classes in Florida about how to punch the chad completly thru the card......
You are right about the fun theater. They will loose contributions if they pull something like that. You know they don't want to loose contributions. How will they line their pockets in that case?
WHAT THE HELL, THEY CANT EVEN COUNT VOTES FROM THE LAST ELECTION. GIVE THE DAMN STATE TO CUBA. THEN WE CAN GO ON WITH OUR LIFE.
We have some from last election to use for this election. We saved them up!!
jerry, they'd throw spitballs at you.
