Gee, thanks, Boston Globe. There's a news flash. The Republicans are de-energized. No one saw that coming. What will be newsworthy, though, is how quickly it will re-energize if Hillary gets the nomination.

Re Ms. Clinton - this is a repeat from a post some weeks back and I've seen nothing since then to change my position: I do not believe that Ms. Clinton can win the general election. In fact, I think that if she is the D. candidate, we'll see a 3rd party that will further erode the anti-republican vote. I believe that if Ms. Clinton is the d candidate, the republicans will win in 2008. Notice I have not said anything about my support of her. I also don't think this has anything to do with Bill. I think that Ms. Clinton is either actively hated or extremely distrusted across a wide spectrum of voters and that makes it a real problem for us in 2008. My goal is to keep the republicans out because I see no R candidate that even passes the sanity test with the possible exception of Ron Paul. He is getting no press so I don't think he stands a chance anyway except as a possible 3rd party split off. On the issues, I also suspect that we will find the abortion topic to be the final decider. Anyone who is militantly proabortion will lose. People will take the Iraq fiasco rather than let abortion take the nation. I've said it before - the ProLife focus groups are one of the 3 most powerful in the country. I am no longer optimistic that we can cure the cancer of republicanism in America.

Must not be a lot to do in New Hampshire these days. They announce Joe Biden is at a cocktail party in New Hampshire and people thought it was the Beatles reunion. What is so fantastic about that state? Only time you hear about New Hampshire is every four years at election time.

independent, texas/ people voting independent in 08 will be casting a vote for rudy guliani and steve forbes the weathy eletist dream team, suck it up and vote for the democrat even if you don't like them, you can tell everybody you voted for the independent, I won't tell

mk,mo - I agree with you and plan to use my vote to get this current plague out of office. I'm just sayin' that regardless of my own "enlightened" (smile) voting plans, a Clinton nomination will result in another Republican win in 2008. Hate it, but that is how I see it.

Independant/MK.. sigh. A lot of stupid people out there willing to vote against their own best interests. What a mess this nation has become.

Democracy is great... right up to the point when you realize you can't trust people to vote the way you want them to.
