I was called today on an automated poll. I said #3 which was No amnesty, and no to having any rights for those who are here illegally. Why should we give any rights to non-citizen criminals? By what twisted logic is that ok?

Think the only thing they haven't voted on is what tissue paper they are going to put in the prisons that house the illegals after they are caught. How can this government possibly do all the paperwork and legwork needed in order to track the millions of illegals? This government cannot even keep up with the procedure for passports and is now waiving some of the procedures for that. Even if they pass this idiotic immigration bill, it cannot be implemented by the DHS, ICE, INS because of the massive paperwork involved. So then what? Why should the illegals even worry about false identity papers or anything else? Millions will never be tracked or traced.

The amnitcy bill, a document written to reward the totally disrespectfulness of invading lawbreakers, and thereby create a whole new under class, that the democrat party can then exploit by promising free-bees, in exchange for their votes!! Reid will bring it up as many times as it takes for Dubya and company to deal, cajole, threaten those who are not for his AMNESTY for the illegal aliens. Those so called illegals and foreign immigrants from Mexico and other lands have been fighting for this country. Why do you hate us so much, why do you want to harm us? We are not terrorists.? The one we can thank today for the great amnesty of 1986 and lack of law enforcement that was PROMISED and not done, lack of border security that was PROMISED and not done, and now for God only knows how many more millions of illegal aliens that have walked across the border with the full intent of staying and waiting for the NEXT great amnesty. Yes, the late, great Ronnie - thank you for the mess you left and nobody since has bothered to try to clean it up until now when it has gotten so out of control none of our leaders wants to be responsible for cleaning it up. They should be creating and running those businesses in MEXICO and contributing to their economy, and providing jobs in MEXICO for their own people in their own land. They are trying awfully hard in DC. Reid lied and said if cloture failed it was dead - when his bluff didn't work - now bring it up again after Dubya tries to strong arm and buy the votes to pass it. Keep the pressure on the senators. WE are the ones with a vote - therein lies our power. Memo, thank you for that reminder of what we can thank Mr. Reagan for doing for us back in '86. Here is what is happening:

Reid's idea is to quash the president's credibility sofaras possible, limiting damage to his own tenure. '08 is the issue. If Reid can maintain the perception of overwhelming failure for administration's domestic policy, next prez is democrat.

Why else would Reid move for cloture at so prematurely, and then withdraw the bill claiming he had to "consider energy issues" - ONLY TO TABLE A MOTION TO CENSURE THAT CHARLATAN OF CHARLATANS, Gonzales. It's a comic strip. (Gonzales is a whole other can of . . . .)

Concluding point 1 - Do not misread Reid: he's keeping accolade from a failed prez, and ensuring failure of the bill by the premature cloture call. I do think he's a pansy on this issue, see below, but politics may save him from betraying the country.

Point 2: REID'S LINE
He talks a very bad line - like someone who has had too much corporate money stuffed up his ssa. The doctine he propounds is all over California: "they come here to work hard and just want to feed their families"; ( correction: "they come here to work hard and have YOU feed their families" ).

The real money is here though: corporations have laid out an excellent trough for democrats since the election. The democrats are taking an equally pro-corporate stance even though the average american (see this blog, listen to c-span morning) is basically against it.

Democratic support for the bill favors corporate interests (not the humanity of the illegal living in the shadows, working hard) :
1. Keeps wages down - illegals work for less.
2. Illegals displace americans.
3. Lower costs (from illegal labor) DO NOT EQUATE TO CHEAPER PRICES FOR CONSUMERS: Corporations have not lowered prices due to cheaper labor (illegal labor); viz., we have not seen prices drop based on a 90-95+% reduction in labor costs of producing goods in China in the last 5 years. Corporations slop it up.

Prices have not dropped nor have wages risen.

Accordingly, corporations are free to keep price levels where they were prior to the time they took on illegals who work for less, or prior to the time they destroyed the U.S. manufacturing base and outsourced production abroad, saving manufacturing costs of 90-95 cents on the dollar.  

If we removed 12 million illegals, rephrased, IF WE CREATED 12 MILLION JOBS FOR LEGAL U.S. RESIDENTS:

1. workforce wages would rise - people would have a reason to pursue jobs which pater familias bush says "normal Americans don't want to do" - (Seriously, mr. bush, people DO work at burger king at the prevailing $7-8/hr., why would they not take a janitorial job at 2-3x the pay? I doubt they would not.)  

2. unemployment would drop - not a bad thing for working class americans.

I do not see any reason why we want illegals in this country, MUCH LESS DO I SEE ANY MORAL PURPOSE TO GIVING THEM A REASON TO STAY HERE.

Another amnesty bill is merely a blanket invitation to people to come in and wait for their welfare checks to issue.

Long live the rule of law, the U.S., and let's preserve our thinning moral fibre.
