From NBC's Mark Murray
In the the aftermath of this week's presidential debates in New Hampshire, Clinton and Romney come out on top in a new Mason-Dixon poll of likely primary voters there. Among likely Democratic primary voters, Clinton leads Obama, 26%-21%, with Edwards at 18%, Richardson at 9%, and Biden at 6%; no other Democratic presidential contender gets more than 1%.

Among likely GOP primary voters, Romney leads McCain, 27%-16%, followed by Giuliani at 15%, Fred Thompson at 12%, and Huckabee at 5%.

The Mason-Dixon poll -- which was given exclusively to NBC and MSNBC -- was taken June 4-7, 2007, and the Dem field has a margin of error of +/- 4.9%, and the GOP field has a margin of error of +/- 5.3%.

HILLARY CLINTON THE FIRST WOMEN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND ONE OF THE "BEST" LEADERS THIS NATION HAS EVER HAD!
Hillary Clinton is a socialist bent on wealth redistribution and government healthcare.
Interesting that Huckabee gained some support in this poll. I wonder if he can capitalize on this.
Romney's held double digit leads in every recent NH poll (within the last month.). Would love to see the full results and the previous results by this pollster. First, Romney takes the lead in Iowa polls and Giuliani and McCain decide to duck out of the Ames Straw Poll. http://iowansforromney.blogspot.com/2007/06/giulianimccain-campaigns-on-life.html Now that Romney has a solid showing in N.H. are they going to run for cover there too? Bring on Fred!!
Hilary Clinton is the only candidate, on either side, who has the experience, ability, and strength to bring this country back to the top. Those who doubt her will be very surprised next year :).
I think Mitt Romney is a just man who has high moral standards - something very few of the other candidates show me. Want to know why Mitt is the way he is? Check out the Book of Mormon!
Wow, I'll have a tough time choosing between Romney and Clinton. I like them both for different reasons. I really hope it comes down to those two. I think we'll end up with good leadership either way. Yes, I know I'm a walking contradiction. But, the former wannabe President in me can't help but root for the woman.
Hillary Clinton is a socialist bent on wealth redistribution and government healthcare. *** It's about time after the REpublican Party has more than doubled the national debt to over 9 TRILLION DOLLARS. President Clinton actually began to pay down the national debt and the frackin Republicans have bankrupted the nation.
If you look facist up in the dictionary it describes government enacting policy and legislation to benefit business, we all know who that definition describes. Health care is bankrupting our country.
HILLARY IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE CAVEMEN OF THE WORLD TO STOP FIGHTING. YOU HAVE MY VOTE!
I agree with "Bush Republican"...she is a socialist and the worst thing that could ever happen to this country...oh and "FD Hugh" no one else has any experience, ability, or strength besides her? you are so wrong you have no idea. Yay for Romney!
Where is Ron Paul. He wins every TV debate, yet there is no name here.
Yay for Romney? Dear God help us all if the country is run by a mormon.
Can't we have some new faces in the white house and a fresh perspective. We've already seen the Clintons in the white house. I'd prefer a new candidate like Romney.
Hillary will be president...thank goodness
If I wanted to live in a socialist society I would move to Canada. Hilary Clinton would be a terrible President. Government ran healthcare is a terrible idea. For those of you who haven't read an economics book let me enlighten you. Where does the government get it's spending money? TAXES!!!! For the size of the US population we would see a huge increase in taxes to pay for nationwide healthcare! Let alone your asking the government lacks efficiency which will cause the quality to drop drastically. Canada is a prime example of why you don't nationalize health care.
'HILLARY' IS THE BEST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO OUR COUNTRY!
The Republicans are hoping for Hillary to get the nomination, because they know America is not yet ready to elect a woman president. So if she does get the nomination, it becomes a shoo-in for the Republican nominee to win.
LOL@ignorantrpblcns...God help us if people like you who label and look at one's beliefs as grounds for hate get your candidate. If you were to make a statement like yours with the word Jew instead of Mormon there would be folks calling for your head. Lame...even if it was a joke.
The bush government gets its spending money by borrowing it.
Who is Ron Paul? He would not even come close to gaining the votes that Nader did, and he was at least a known name across the country. This guy is wasting his time amid literally no interest in him by the general public. Oh the ego! David B. California
Seems to me Obama and Hillary are the true front-runners in this presidential contest. Not sure if any republican can beat them.
Relax! Guys and Ladies! Neither Clinton nor Romney will become the next president of the U.S., not the U.S. I know of any way.
Another Fox News fundraiser for Hillary! http://www.nypost.com/seven/05012007/news/nationalnews/hill_ywood_cash_bash_in_works_nationalnews_ian_bishop.htm Here's Murdoch's HUGE fundraiser for Hillary last year - http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/07/18/politics/main1816866.shtml
We need an experienced fair and sensible woman to head this country back to a government for the people.
We should look at the "second tier" people as well. I see more practical experience that can lead our country there then I do with the money makers. Personally, I like my Senator Chris Dodd. But I also like both Biden and Richardson more than Hillary, Obama or Edwards. On the other side Mike Huckabee seems appealing.
While Hillary supports workers' rights in speeches to union members - her chief strategist is a union buster with free trade clients. Oh - and tonight the mass murderering president of Columbia will host a gala with Bill Clinton - wooing the Clinton's union busting associates for free trade agreements! It's doubtful Elizabeth Edwards or Michelle Obama would want to be seen with Uribe. Al Gore has certainly distanced himself from him. http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/providerarticle.aspx?feed=FT&Date=20070607&ID=7002688
LOL@ignorantrpblcns Phoenix, Arizona. You are definitely and uneducated, and very ignorant. You make the democrats look bad. And if your religious you make your religion look bad. By the way, I am a Hillary fan and I know that she would never even think what you said. What a discrace!
I am surprised that Romney has taken the lead in both NH and Iowa. It is patently obvious that he is a political opportunist. His positions shift depending on the mood of the country and the office he seeks. When he runs for governor of Massachusetts, he supports gay rights, is pro-choice, and embraces immigration reform. Now that he's running for the Republican nomination for President, he's against gay rights, is pro-life, and wants existing immigration laws enforced rather than embracing comprehensive immigration reform. Republicans used to brand someone like that a flip flopper. They would be unrelenting in their attacks, denouncing the man a hypocrite and political opportunist. Now they endorse him as a front runner. Strange, very strange.
Mark - why do you condone your taxes paying for Iraqis' universal healthcare - but not Americans?? And apparently you're not aware of the billions in corporate welfare Republicans shower on their corporate donors - at TAXPAYERS' EXPENSE. Even giving tax breaks to U.S. oil companies! Yes - John Edwards would end that!
Hillary Clinton would "steal the pennies off of a dead man's eye's" if it would keep her in the lead. She's nothing less than a lying, cheatin, b---h!! Why doesn't she ever get guestioned about Clintons lawyer (Vince Foster (sp)) that committed suicide during Clintons first administration?? Hillary's name was in there as a possible "interest" of his. And why did she have his files and office cleaned out before the man was even "cold in the grave". Anybody that would vote for her has got "mush for brains". Of course, we see a lot of that these days!!
Lucy from Seattle said the following - "I agree with "Bush Republican"...she is a socialist and the worst thing that could ever happen to this country.." Hey Lucy - i got 2 word for you GEORGE BUSH. That's the worst thing that has happened for this country. The man has put us back into the stoneage. It's time for a new face - end the dynasties. BARAK O'BAMA will put the country back on track and moving ahead where it needs to go.
Hillary already had her chance in the White House (We all know that Bill wasn't running it) and that didn't get us anywhere. Let's give someone with real leadership qualities and VALUES a chance. Romney has my vote! VOTE "MITT" in '08!
Mitt Romney is the kind or leader that will manage the United States government like he has previously done with the Salt Lake City Olympics and the very successful Bain Corporation. He will get us back on the right economic track.
I think the Democrat ticket will be Hilary & Bill Richardson. You have two familiar candidates that have worked with each other. We need a good negotiator like Bill Richardson to regain trust in the world. Mitt Romney is a great candidate for the Republicans, but do we want more of Bush's war? Mitt Romney supports George Bush's decision to go to Iraq! Al Gore is my candidate but he will not committ unless he see's the republicnas gain ground in the fall over Hilary. He seems to have learned from the past not to make his remarks and plans know to the press unlesss it benefits him. Gore is in control and will wait until the last minute so republicans cant take him down with smear tactics.
Mark - Hillary Clinton has had 15 years to produce a healthcare plan but - nuttin yet! Obama released one - but it's not a universal healthcare plan. Only Edwards has released a universal healthcare plan. Have you read it? http://www.johnedwards.com/about/issues/health-care/ Perhaps you're wondering why the corporate media bashes Edwards for his haircuts and wealth - issues that don't affect us - but they omit any discussion of his healthcare plan.
I work in health care lending for a large regional bank. I see the financial statements of insurance companies and health care providers on a daily basis, and I see their expenses rising, especially bad debt expense, which would be virtually eliminated with the introduction of universal health care. I also see investments from insurance companies rising, meaning that even though many/most are non-profit health insurance providers, they have a huge cash surplus at the end of the day, which never seems to translate to lower health care costs for average Americans. Also, bad debt expense caused by the inability of uninsured individuals to pay their medical bills is one of the primary reasons we're seeing such a rise in health care costs. If we just cover everyone, it COULD end up saving all of us money in the long run (reducing bad debt expense on the income statement), if done properly and with private investment (not a single-payer method). So Go Hillary.
Oh jeeez! Bush ran on being a CEO type president - ha! Yeah - how's that "balanced budget" look now? Mitt is too invested in Big Bu$iness to represent The People.
Democrat, Republican, who cares as long as they get end the war one way or another and stop making us the laughing stock of the entire world. We have lost all respect. And pay back all this stupid debt.....its ridiculous.
STAY TUNED GUYS & GALS - FOR AN OBAMA/CLINTON TICKET!! "OBAMA FOR AMERICA"!!!
MIke Huckabee moved up a little- I think if this guy could start getting some money he could move up and challenge some of the others. Clearly he is the best ccommunicator of the group, but few people have heard of him and he didn't get a lot of opportunities in that last debate
Then I guess it's Romney. American presidents historically just don't move directly from the Senate to the White House; it hasn't happened since Kennedy, and that was a stolen election. So now that the election's over, can we please get some work done?
Bush Repub & Lucy- What is wrong with a socialist bent on wealth redistribution and govt. healthcare? When Hillary becomes president, she will redistribute wealth so that the middle class can finally get a fair shake since the wage gap keeps growing. Despite all the talk of her "raising taxes", no one ever seems to understand that she is raising taxes on people who make 200k or more and 65% of this country is nowhere near that fortunate like myself. Countries with universal healthcare, like Cuba, rank among the world's top healthcare systems with the U.S at a dismal 42nd!! I can see why the wealthy are scared of Hillary becoming president.
THIS COUNTRY IS NOT READY TO HAVE A FEMALE PRESIDENT!ESPECIALLY SOMEONE LIKE HILARY!! THE US HAS HAD THEIR FILL OF BUSHES AND CLINTONS, IT'S TIME FOR SOME NEW "BLOOD"
Ron Paul Revelution. Ron Paul is the only American in the field.
Do you folks really think it matters? In the end, the two horses in the race will be identical to each other, one with a D in front of their name and one with an R. Don't believe me...then answer this question. Out of a country with 300 million people, is this the best we can do? That's why no one wants to talk about Ron Paul, or acknowledge his existence. The guy has actual ideas, is honest, but is not in the pocket of the elite. Therefore the mainstream media laughs at him and because you can't think for yourself, you do too.
HILARY CLINTON IS BY FOR THE BEST CHOICE FOR NEXT AMERICACN PRESIDENCY. VOTE HER TO VICTORY AND AMERICA WILL BOUNCE BACK AS THE MOST CHERISHED WORLD LEADER. HER PRESIDENCY WILL BRING PEACE & PROSPERTY ON THIS PLANET. WHOLE WORLD WILL BE INDEBTED FOR LIFE TO AMERICAN VOTERS. SHE WILL MAKE TODAT'S CACOPHONY A WORLDWIDE DELIGHT. THE THREAT OF TERRORISM WILL EVAPORATE OVERNIGHT.
AJ - Are you doing the Obama for America nationwide walk tomorrow??
STAY TUNED GUYS & GALS - FOR AN OBAMA/CLINTON TICKET!! "OBAMA FOR AMERICA"!!!
CLINTON IS A LEFT WING LIBERAL! Who says "Once I am elected president, I will send my hunsband to the middle east to fix this mess" SOme leader to send the biggest loser in the world to the middle east, frick, too many left wing liberals in this country!
