Here are Giuliani's "Twelve Commitments," which he is unveiling right now:

I will keep America on offense in the Terrorists' War on Us.
-I will end illegal immigration, secure our borders, and identify every non-citizen in our nation. -I will restore fiscal discipline and cut wasteful Washington spending.
-I will cut taxes and reform the tax code.
-I will impose accountability on Washington.
-I will lead America towards energy independence.
-I will give Americans more control over, and access to, healthcare with affordable and portable free-market solutions.
-I will increase adoptions, decrease abortions, and protect the quality of life for our children.
-I will reform the legal system and appoint strict constructionist judges.
-I will ensure that every community in America is prepared for terrorist attacks and natural disasters.
-I will provide access to a quality education to every child in America by giving real school choice to parents.
-I will expand America's involvement in the global economy and strengthen our reputation around the world.

Giuliani's chief policy adviser, Bill Simon (the one-time candidate for Calif. governor) spent the most time on this speech with Giuliani -- but others have also contributed to the speech, including his chief political aides, Tony Carbonetti, Mike DuHaime and Katie Levinson.

That all sounds nice, but he has to remember if he does win a third of the country is going to say he cheated, America sucks, America is the blame for everything wrong in the world, and then try to block anything that would be good for America because they just can't stand to let anyone else have credit.

I believe Giuliani should be committed...to an institution.
Commitment 13: I will uphold the sanctity of marriage by not humilitating my ex-wives, or having an affair outside of marriage anymore, or by getting divorced during the presidential campaign.
Rudy the wanna-be dictator says he'll appoint strict constructionist judges and reform the legal system. Hmmm...so many questions we could ask. If the thinks he can reform the legal system...well good luck. AND, just what is Rudy's idea of "constructionist"? Be aware folks.

How about "support and defend the constitution of the United States" it is in the oath of office and includes the bill of rights. If Rudy has some time he might try reading it for a real eye opener.
Rudy is consistent, principled and up-front with his thoughts and agenda. If he says he'll do these things I know he would move heaven and earth to accomplish them.
So after he does all of that, when does he walk on water?

I believe these twelve commitments are mathematically impossible. That doesn't mean they are. What about getting Clinton's budget surplus back from the ungodly wealthy? What about all the money Halliburton and other contractors in Iraq filched from the American taxpayer? What will you do to stop corporations from bribing politicians, when this government is presumably of the people, for the people and by the people? Will you seek punishment for Bush, Cheney, Rove and Gonzales for stealing from the poor and middle class and giving to the rich? How about for putting America on course to becoming a second rate power? Would you strive to have every politician and corporate executive who stole from the American people serve time in the slammer in line with what Ms. Butts is up against for stealing toilet paper from a courthouse, considering all these abovementioned entities together have stolen enough money from us to keep the world in high-quality toilet paper until the Statue of Liberty is crotch deep in glacier melt? Do you want us to read your lips? Would you be willing to take a lie detector test? Don't you agree that most Republican politicians are liars and crooks? Do you think our attempt to get rid of Gonzo is a fishing expedition, or do you, like myself, consider Rove's term "fishing expedition" a bumper sticker slogan calculated to take our eyes off the ball? What will you do to entities like FOX news and Rush Limbaugh for brainwashing the people of this nation who reside on the lower end of the IQ scale so that the rich pigs of America will have a voter base for politicians who will be their puppets? How would you go for making it a crime for media outlets posing as news organizations to knowingly peddle propaganda to America's slow learning and mentally retarded, AKA working class Republicans? How about desisting from using the nation's public schools as propaganda factories? Is that what you mean by providing Americas children with a quality education? I have many other questions, but I have no intention of making this a novella-length quest for information. If you can provide satisfactory answers to what I have asked, I would vote for you, assuming you switch to the Democratic party. And assuming, of course, you are not lying.
typical liberal responses. If Hillary did the same thing I would call into commandmants #1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12. Since Hillary will do none of it, I guess she is not the best hope for america. If Rudy can do it, that's all fine, but I think Mitt is just as good or better, but I will back whichever candidate my party agrees to and run with the ABC's (anybody but Clinton).
If he wanted to, he could easily "commit" Bush, Cheney, Gonzales, and others in charge now. I'm sure he could find twelve pretty easily.

Anytime I hear a candidate say, "I will..." I want to ask if the candidate thinks he/she is running for dictator. I would rather hear a candidate tell me what he/she thinks the role of government is, how well versed he/she is regarding the Constitution and the concept of separation of powers and whether he/she has ever read about or has any interest in history!

I think you're right, The rest of the commitments are acceptable, this one he has to explain in terms of benefit to Americans versus the currency loyalists and American Corporations and how he plans to please the money interests and stop illegal migration.

The second that he gives any kind of plan on how he is going to accomplish those things I will care. This goes for every politician who doesn't back up their rhetoric with details. JIryb, I have to point out that worrying about kool aide drinkers and what they say is kind of silly. Of course Ted is an idiot. Which begs the question, why care? The far right nut jobs on in this community never contribute past spouting made up telemarketing scams, harping on minor Democratic election convictions from two years ago, or somehow thinking that Elian Gonzales is relevent 7 years after the fact (that one really made me chuckle). They are small, petty, ignorant, children who are throwing a fit because they know that in 18 months their party is going to loose control of all levels of government and that they aren't likely to recover from for decades. H P Why would I live there???? The money I could spend getting a house in hyannisport, I can build a house bigger then John Edward's house here! And I would pay 50% lower property taxes then in Hyannisport. And Gasoline is a dollar a gallon cheaper then in Hyannisport. And food is 50% cheaper then Hyannisport! and I wouldn't have to worry about drunken politicans named Kennedy driving off the bridges at night! Maybe the whiskey is a little better there (irish of course). But why would anybody want to live in there?
