Ron Paul's warchest

Our friends at Hotline made this excellent point: We all know by now that Paul has more cash on hand than McCain. But he also has more cash on hand than seven other presidential hopefuls combined (Tancredo, Brownback, Huckabee, Kucinich, Hunter, T. Thompson, and Gravel).

Great to see so many positive posts about America's salvation in '08, Dr. Ron Paul. His candor is so refreshing that traditional politicians don't know how to repond to it. It scares them into muteness, which, in and of itself, is a miracle.

I both donated to his campaign and, for the very first time ever in my life, put a bumper sticker on my car and a button on my motorcycle. We need this guy!
For anyone who has studied the federal constitution and American history, Ron Paul is a breath of fresh air. 95%+ of what these people do in DC is unconstitutional. And that is not some arbitrary "what I like is good and constitutional, what I don't like is bad and unconstitutional" Dr. Paul ("Dr. No") actually supports his oath to uphold the constitution. People make Dr. Paul out as some sort of extremist (he is a funny old guy), but the real extremists are the people and parties who are entrenched in DC and across the country. I'll even throw the media in there as well. The current parties and politicians are the ones who subvert the constitutional compact and belong in prison.

To sum up the enumerated powers (Article I Section VIII-- which Dr. Paul supports), the federal bill of rights, according to its preamble, was put in place because of a desire expressed by representatives in the state ratifying convnentions, that further (on top of Article I Section IX) declaratory and restrictive clauses were needed "to prevent misconstruction or abuse" of federal power. The chief concerns were over the words "general welfare" and "necessary and proper." All three branches, through the years, but tracing back to the 1790s, have slowly inverted the system to make the fed supreme. Destroying the federal system as expressed in the constitution and replacing it with a national system-- the kind Hamilton proposed and had overwhelmingly rejected in Philadelphia. Hamilton's goal was to create a national legislature with plenary powers. He even proposed eliminating the state governments. Though Hamilton failed, his ilk through the years have succeeded in implementing their scheme.

Aside from destroying the senate with the 17th Amendment and claiming ownership over all people and property in the US with the 16th amendment, the federal government has not legitimately or constitutionally increased the scope of its powers. This my friends, is called usurpation... which happened to be one of the primary reasons listed in the Declaration of Independence some 230 years ago.

For example, the current debate over national socialized medicine is pointless. States, subject to their own constitutions can have this debate, but it's unconstitutional at the federal level without amending the constitution.

Regardless of whether Dr. Paul could someone miraculously move into the oval office, serious discussion should be made about states withdrawing from the federal union. The states are the principal, the fed is merely the agent entrusted with "delegated" powers. I have no problem leaving the current crop of political crooks and thieves to their usual tricks, so long as they have no power to tax me or pass laws abridging my freedom.

Dr. Ron Paul for President, or bust.
I love Ron Paul's position on sound money and the Federal Reserve.  On this, he is unparalleled among all the bozos running.  Most of those clowns probably don't even understand the fundamental economic and moral importance of this issue.

Only Ron Paul stands in the way of a Democratic sweep in '08.
For Paul Miller:

That's just it, Ron DOES go through 'unaffiliated' websites like Meetup t. I'm the coordinator for my county in NH and work with the Meetup groups and generally get names of NH people who have signed up with the campaign...if they live in my county, they are sent to me and I steer them to the events.

Ron Paul has what money can not buy. THE TRUTH!!!!!
20/20   20k on youtub and 20k in meetups. I have not seen any signs or stickers for any other person running. There are Ron Paul stickers and signs all over town.

It's very simple, if you are a democrat register republican and vote Ron Paul. You can assure yourself that the war will be over and you can vote for your candidate (hopefully it will be for Dr. Paul on the basis of freedom). Registering Republican doesn't restrict your vote in the presidency. A registered republican who votes for Paul is a vote for peace. I like Paul for other reasons, but this is the best person to vote for in the primaries for peace.
Agree with me this far:  Ron Paul has been a surprise success so far.  Agree with me further:  he may bring more surprises in the future.  I am weary of those who failed to predict his rise, but who now confidently predict his ultimate fall.  Support Ron Paul and make change happen.
Just got 2 more acquaintances turned on to Ron Paul and his freedom message. The Ron Paul Revolution sign on my van got their attention.  They asked me. Both had no idea there was someone running who is worth their vote.
AH, THE POWER OF EXPONENTIAL GROWTH...
If my 2 cents today or my 4 cents tomorrow don't impress you, COME SEE ME IN A MONTH.
thanks for being a major media outlet and covering Ron Paul.  these numbers provde that Paul is not a long-shot and has real support.
It would be interesting to know who he would consider selecting for his running mate. Who else in the GOP would match his politics?
Who IS Ron Paul?
Why would he get this much support?

Do your OWN homework.

NOBODY explains Ron Paul
BETTER than Ron Paul himself!

Here is an interactive audio archive of
Ron Paul speeches and interviews as a resource in chronological
order.

If nothing else, Ron Paul has a helluva gang bang going for him on this particular article in First Read.  Looks like an inside job to me.  I've never seen so many uses of full names with city names and states and all punctuated nicely.  You professional bloggers really follow the rules well.
donate till it hurts , we can take this country back !

Would it not make sense for an actual FISCAL conservative to win the party nomination?!  No debt and very smart with his money.
For the first time in my  life I feel energized by the prospedt of a free america.  A free people.  America would once again be the light of the world.  I am giving money to Ron Paul for President, my first ever financial contributions to a canditate for President.  He can win this.  He can be President Paul.

Thanks Msnbc!!!Keep em comming....Ron Paul Meetup Riverside SoCal!!!!
Ron Paul will make an honest attempt to bring our Government back within the bounds of the Constitution and check the growth our the socialist police state. He is an intelligent, informed, consistent, scrupulous patriot. He isn't a chickenhawk, pro-amnesty, gun banner; that's my kind of conservative. Likewise, I'll be dropping some coin into the good doctor's coffers.
David Walker, head of the Government Accountability Office, an investigative arm of Congress that audits and evaluates the performance of the federal government, has said:

"that closing those gaps - $8 trillion for Social Security, many times that for Medicare - and paying off the existing deficit would require either an immediate doubling of personal and corporate income taxes, a two-thirds cut in Social Security and Medicare benefits, or some combination of the two."

Congressman Ron Paul is the ONLY one willing to admit to this problem and deal with it. If we don't do anything now, then there people will never see a dime anyway.

Ron Paul will be the NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!
I think it's pretty clear what Frudy McRompson has been spending millions on ...

Polls!

To be clear: I am suggesting advertising and informational campaigns, rather than outright commissioning a poll "cooked" to order.  Multiple, multiple, multiple - telephone, TV, and direct mail pieces to likely Republican voters could yield improved poll results 2-3 months down the line.  Expensive, but if it works...

But we should not be fooled into using polls as a method of peering into the future.  Let's remember what stage of the campaign we are in: gather sympathetic forces.  This is much easier for Dr. Paul than anyone else.

We have some time before we need to move to the next stage: capture the party nomination.  By then, everyone should have had time to join the GOP (even if you live in an open primary state.)  That way you can join your local GOP group and get elected to 2008 national conventiion, where the 2nd most important poll of all will be held.

And while we are counting assets in Ron Paul's warchest, let us not forget the crown jewel in Ron Paul's crown: His message.

The big difference is that everyone else's poll numbers, supporters, and money raised is going down.  Ron Paul's is the only one going up.  His burn rate is 4-5 times smaller than Julie-Annie's and half as small as anyone else, Democrat or Republican.

To whomever was rambling on about how great the Ron Paul campaign would be if was just more like other campaigns with "professional" campaign staff etc.:

There are so many things wrong with that; I don't even know where to begin.  Suffice it to say that if we had to wait around for some campaign flunky to tell us to do something, then we wouldn't really be the kind of people that would appreciate a freedom message.  It is precisely because we feel comfortable striking out on our own, that we are drawn to the Ron Paul message of constitutionally limited government, honest money, and personal freedom and responsibility.
2 questions:Can Hillary choose Al gore as a running mate?...Can any republican<other than Ron Paul>beat a Clinton/Gore 2008 ticket?
Ron Paul stands for individual liberty.  That means you and me, not the government and the corporations.  The Ron Paul Revolution is in full swing.  Everybody stand up and take your country back!
Ron Paul's grassroots campaign is all about decentralization, which is his basic philosophy. The only way for this republic to survive is decentralization...and non-interventionism.
Dr. Paul also has more support from those around the world who are not even U.S. citizens & cannot vote for him. This is a wake-up call to those who say they could not vote for this man. People from all over the globe know more about him than alot of the eligible voters do. The reason? It's the mainstream media censoring him as well as our corrupt 2 party system. He is a major threat to these establishments. People from other countries only wish they had someone like him to vote for in their own country because they recognize his true freedom message & that he would be good not only for the USA, but the whole world! Blog websites are being created for him worldwide in many different languages. He not only brings together liberals & conservatives, democrats & republicans, independents & 3rd parties, but also all nations. And now to top it off, even our own Veterans & Military! This man sells himself if given the proper platform to be heard by all. He simply cannot be bought by lobbyists & special interest groups. How refreshing is that? Those who would discredit him either misunderstand his positions or just don't realize what being free truly means. I urge those to dig deeper, do more research, & really understand what our Constitution & Bill of Rights means to our Republic. What our Founding Fathers said over 200 years ago still does apply in this day & age. After all, they gave us these bylaws to protect We The People from our own Government, not the other way around. If you think he is an isolationist, just think how our current & past administrations have done just that, isolate America from most other countries! Want True Freedom, Liberty & Justice for All? We have the cure to what ails US all. Help elect the Good DR> Ron Paul!!!

The American PEOPLE has someone to vote for that isn't the lesser of two evils! If your tired of the corporate machine telling you who to vote for - or who is going to win -- check out Ron Paul -- get involved -- donate to his campaign -- register republican and vote for him in the primaries -- the man has integrity! He alone (of the presidential candidates) has the best interests of America at heart! Go Ron Paul!

Whatever you do -- do one thing -- check out Ron Paul's speeches and videos yourself. Don't let others (like the local or national news or commenters/distractors) put words in his mouth. Once you hear him speak, you'll be able to tell why they will have to fudge the truth about him to the people or try to ignore him altogether.

I would like for msnbc to do a feature on Diebold voting machines.

I also think we need verifiable paper trails -- how about you.
I love reading articles about Ron Paul and hope that MSNBC will cover Ron Paul more often. I think Ron Paul is an amazing candidate for president.
vote Ron Paul
Ron Paul's biggest appeal to me is in his support of securing our borders.  Our military guards the borders of other countries, yet the border of our own country is a sieve. Ron Paul believes as the founding fathers did, the federal government should be small and being a politician should be a part time job, not a full time career.    He also does not seem like the type of guy who cares about pleasing the corporate lobby.  The American people will be here long after most of these corporations, what is best for the American people is what's best for the country, not what is best for the corporations is best for the American people.  As for a plan on how to go from 1% in the poles go to geneseecrest.blogspot.com
I'm truly excited and motivated by the Paul campaign. I feel very strongly that he is the one who can return America to her stature. I didn't think I'd ever donate money to a politician - but I donated $25 to the Paul campaign. Let's get his name out there. GO RON PAUL!
Granola....the biggest flake in the bowl...
Thanks for the article about Ron Paul.  Actually MSNBC does a fairly decent job reporting about Ron Paul.  A lot better than the AP, CNN, and especially FOX.  Ron has appeared many times on Tucker Carlon's show, and he recently appeared on Joe Scarbourgh's show.  He was treated very well by both talk show hosts.  I agree MSNBC could always do better, but at least they are starting to wake up to the new wave in politics.
I'm a Dem, but if Ron Paul will tell the Religious Right to take a hike, he earns my vote.
I also hope that Ron Paul starts to get more media (and online) coverage than he has up to now.  He sounds (from what little I can find out) like he is the only true minimalist in the race for President, and he may be the only one who understands the role of a government of limited and delegated power.

If that's the case, he, and not President Reagan, President Bush, or any of the others running for President, is the true lineal heir of Goldwater conservatism.  THAT I can support, so long as he doesn't add isolationism to the mix.  If he can truly represent minimalist government and a healthy internationalism, maybe the country can get back on the right track.
Kevin Houston - that was me rambling on about professional staffs. Professional staffs do more than message control; and a campaign is more than putting up signs.

I do hope that Ron Paul can make a good showing, and I'm impressed at what seems to be growing support - if these blogs are any indication. But in the respect that there isn't any organization, I have to say it looks a lot like a Libertarian Party campaign.

Let's just take one small example. Who is putting together the state and even more localized databases of supporters? Seems like its probably no one, so how is the campaign going to do GOTV, and for that matter who would do it assuming you knew which voters to get out?

Last I heard, Ron Paul has one staffer in New Hampshire, and he's a kid out of college and not from there I don't believe. And that's the only state that does have anyone. I think I saw that in some article from a New Hampshire paper like a month ago, so maybe things have improved since.
These numbers also don't count those of us who spend our own money on stickers, make our own signs, and do our own mini-campaigning for Ron without giving much money to the actual campaign or being involved with them at all outside reading the campaign blog and trying to get goals that they set forward accomplished.

Also, why aren't you covering this?

http://thespinfactor.com/thetruth/2007/07/16/military-support-for-the-republican-candidates

Ron Paul is raising more money from the military than the other Republican candidates! Seems like all the "we support the troops" rhetoric isn't translating to the troops on the ground. This is a huge tell tale sign that the Republicans in charge have lost their way, and the Iraq War needs to end.
Hopefully MSNBC will not do as Fox News has done, i.e., attempt to discredit Ron Paul with lies like the one where Paul was reported to have said that Bush was planning a staged terrorist attack.  He never said it. Go read the transcript.  And that neocon lap dog Sean Hannity has been pushing for Paul and other so called second tier candidates to not be included in the debates.
Ron Paul is our last hope for the future!
This is so easy: If you are afraid of al-CIA-duh vote for Rudillary Clintiani.  If not, Ron Paul.
Texas is a open primary state you don't have to register Republican to vote for Dr. Paul in the primary.
Most of Dr. Pauls ideas on social and monetary policies are based on the principal that they will be phased out or restructured over a period of time to better utilize the free market principal in dealing with them. On the pressing issues relating to our Liberties and individual Freedoms, he would deal with them in a more timely fashion, ie. repeal the Patriot Act, restore Habeaus Corpus, remove some Presidential Executive Orders and stop the North American Union, etc.
The picture they have put up of Ron Paul?  Striking resemblence to Pauly Walnuts on the Sopranoes.
Laugable......Who cares how much money Ron Paul has??

He's just another one of the political caricatures that have become common place phenomenoms of the election year(s), bringing with them sophmoric, simplistic cliche's on how to fix complex issues...More than substance, his view points, and those that subscribe to same, underscore the reasoning on why US newspapers are written on a fifth grade level.....

I'd wager that if you'd shake Ron paul real hard, Ross Perot would fall out.....
A word to Democrats on here(I voted Dem last time
as well).
The important thing is to get Ron Paul Nominated
as the Republican Candidate, and this is why;

If he wins the Nomination, then we will have two
anti war candidates running for President.
At least anti-Iraq war.

If you change to Republican, which in some states
you have to if you are going to vote for Ron Paul in the Primaries, you need to do it soon, like by October.
But after the Primaries, if you decide you'ld rather
vote for the other Candidate, you are free to do that
no matter what your party affiliation.

So the point is, get Ron Paul Nominated, no matter
what your party is.  Get registered as a Republican
to do that.(If you are in a state that requires that.)
Think about what I am saying.  It's important.
A lot of people don't really vote in the primaries.
But the Ron Paul people will.
I would also like to voice my support for Dr. Paul.

Only through such support can he have a chance to win the nomination and set this country back on it's current path.
thank god america has a voice of reason vote ron Paul 08
Ron Paul will be the first Republican I will have ever voted for, for the presidency.  I have always previously voted libertarian or other 3rd party.  It's about time someone enter the field that's true to their roots.  None of the other Republicans, and none of the Democrats, are true to what their party used to stand for.  None, except Dr. Ron Paul!
For the first time since I started to vote many years ago I have a chance to vote for the best candidate instead of the lesser evil.  I have never voted a party, always for which man I felt would do the country less harm.  Ron Paul will actually be an asset to the country as a whole.

I have noticed some of you call Social Security and Medicare Entitlements, That they are but they are actually INSURANCE.  I bought and paid for those programs.  How many of you remember when Social Security was actuall titled the, "Federal Old Age Insurance Act" and they deducted Federal Old Age INSURANCE from your paycheck?  Now they call it Social Security TAX.

I am a suporter of Ron Paul because he is, In my estimation, the only American running.  Some call him libitarian, some Republican.  I call him American because he represents "We the People" not a political party.
