Bush's colonoscopy

Posted: Friday, July 20, 2007 1:34 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Kelly O'Donnell
Tomorrow at Camp David, President Bush will have a colonoscopy. The procedure will be supervised by his physician, Dr. Richard Tubb, an Air Force colonel. This will be the president's fourth colonoscopy. Because the president will be given anesthesia, Mr. Bush has decided he will transfer power to Vice President Dick Cheney under the 25th amendment. Advisers say Mr. and Mrs. Cheney will be at their home in Maryland on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay all day Saturday, including the time Bush undergoes his colonoscopy.

Bush's last colonoscopy under anesthesia was June 28, 2002. Power was also transferred then.

A previous exam had detected "benign polyps," and advisers say this ongoing follow-up was required. The time of the transferred power is expected to be two and half hours on Saturday.

oh he is so brave---I will have my fingers crossed.
I predict they will find a large vacuous mass up George's butt, and they will attempt to extract his head from his derriere!
Wow!  What a great and enlightning story.  I had no idea that senate had the ability to completely erase something from the record.  It makes you wonder what ELSE has been stricken from the books. I appreciate you for bringing this to the attention of the American people.  Great work, Ken.  Great work.
Not sure if it's wise to give away Cheney's location during this. The out of their minds caucus might try a coup and put Pelosi in the White house.
Oh GOD please PLEASE help us!!!!  Is 2-3 hours long enough for him to start a war with Iran, pardon Libby, Rove and Himself, declare the Office of President "Not part of the Executive Branch" and shred the pesky Constitution officially?

Or will he pleasd for more time?
While they're looking for his brain, maybe he SHOULD be making decisions while 'under'.  Might come up with some good, sound ones for a change.
Bush transferred power to Cheney. I thought Cheney already had the power.
This could be serious especially if they find Cheney's hand up there or even worse if President Bush can't return and we're stuck with "President Cheney" to finish out his term.
Other than curiosity about how long it would take before some creative and original person came up with a "head up his . . ." joke, this event is hardly worth noting.

Looks like GAB is the winner.  Wow, and only the second post overall.  Underwhelming.

Is it just a coincidence that Cheney coming to power coincides with the return of Voldemort in the new Harry Potter book? It suddenly got colder here....
How about this one Richard...

Don't know how much the Doctor will be able to see during the procedure given the blockage of Bush's head and all the Republican noses.
Buzzy: "While they're looking for his brain,"

His brain?!?  I thought they were looking for your brain.  Its been MIA for some time now.
Maybe they'll find his brain, while they're down there.
Dubya goes from one Bun Company to another.
So GWB is ceding power for 2 1/2 hours because of ANESTHESIA??? Why would that be any different than the way he is daily?? It wouldn't effect the quality of the Decider's decisions. Wonder if the Doc will have trouble determining which end to put the tube in??

Use the force Nancy...Darth Vader is coming..

"Who is in charge?" "I am in charge" Alexander Haig a short time after Pres. Reagan was shot. I guess Mr. Haig wasn't all that familiar with the Constitution. Must be a Republicant qualification:-) Is it Jerry??
Jim:  C'mon Jim, you're really GAB writing in under another name, right?

Another illustratin of the risk of putting e-mail and computers in the hands of teenagers.
"Further examination of the President's behind showed one of the benign polyps was actually the tip of John Boehner's nose, supposedly broken off when the President stopped suddenly."  Independent Party News Service
Jim,Atlanta, is there any possiblily that maybe this will clear his brain and start thinking as a human and not his delusional self as "King George with his Emperor of this Emeralds Palace Colossal Embassy in Iraq", overlooking all he surveys all of the Middle East.
You can not drive a car for 24 hours after this type of procedure, so how could you run a country after only 2 1/2 hours after this procedure?
Asad, I'm picking up my copy tomorrwow. Maybe I'll read the last chapter first.Or maybe I should pick it up tonight at the stroke of midnight.
Maybe they'll find the corporate media kissing it....
Maybe Cheney should start another war while he is under. Happy ass probe W.
and the search for WMD continues....
Maybe they'll clear the blockage he has that is backing up into his brain, thus giving him all the crappy ideas he's had for the last 6 years.
If they find polyps it will explain Bush's gut feeling a couple of years ago that Putin was a good guy.
Too bad two-thirds of the population and myself can't get a chance to stick something up that idiot's a#@!!!
It's going to be a long exam, Bush is all Rectal Orifice.
i am glad i am not the only one that gets the irony of this situation.  to be fair though, someone should stand in front of him telling lies as the thing goes in just so he gets the feeling of what he is doing to us.
Maybe they'll find Bin Laden up there?
I hope GWB doesn't 'surge' on the Doc.

I'll bet you Dubya hopes the Doc "stays the course", could be painful if he "cuts and runs".
And who said liberals/leftists can't be funny?

you guys are a hoot.

Chances are they won't find anything, in which case it appears that many of you will be unhappy and life will thus continue normally.

Ron, that was actually funny.
In GW's case the procedure should be called Optic-Rectal Infusion.

This is where the head is so far up the butt that the person cannot see clearly. We can only hope that the doctors solve this problem.
Maybe they'll find Harry Reid since he can't find his own.

This is actually kind of fun.  Nice job "The Edge".
Richard, you're right this is alot of fun. POKING fun at GW has never been so easy.
john and edge, hysterical. so far you two win.
i meant ron not john. wmd's...funny.
Somebody had to replace Clinton, which was really the good old days.  Perhaps Hillary will serve a purpose after all.  I'm assuming we'll all jump in enthusiastically to POKE fun at her annual gynocological exam.
Hope it all comes out alright in the end.
So, he really is full of .... then. Right? This is the proof. He's full of .... and needs to have it removed.
I hope they have David Kay the(former)? U. N weapons inspector doing it. Lord knows they couldn't find weapons of mass destruction anywhere else.
Maybe they will find a plan for post war Iraq there. Better late than never.
"The A@*hole Song by Jimmy Buffet.
Beautiful. With any luck, GWB will stay under for a couple of weeks, leaving Cheney in charge.

I will enjoy the lefties fits of apoplexy.
Maybe all the long-lost Whitehouse emails will be found, too...
Oh, butt wait...  How can executive power be transferred to Cheney if he's not part of the executive branch?
Hey Bruce. You're late. Cheney has been in charge the whole (or should I say HOLE) time
"lefties". that is the word the ultra right, tight a##, religious, mullet wearing gun rack in the pick-up types use since "commie" no longer exists.
Notice how brave he is in facing his rectal exam.  To bad he didn't show that kind of guts when he cut and ran to the Natl. Guard.
This is really going to ice McCain's campaign.

Wait'll they publish the pictures of Bush's colonoscopy, and McCain's lips and nose are prominently featured in each of them.
