Bush's colonoscopy

Posted: Friday, July 20, 2007 1:34 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Kelly O'Donnell
Tomorrow at Camp David, President Bush will have a colonoscopy. The procedure will be supervised by his physician, Dr. Richard Tubb, an Air Force colonel. This will be the president's fourth colonoscopy. Because the president will be given anesthesia, Mr. Bush has decided he will transfer power to Vice President Dick Cheney under the 25th amendment. Advisers say Mr. and Mrs. Cheney will be at their home in Maryland on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay all day Saturday, including the time Bush undergoes his colonoscopy.

Bush's last colonoscopy under anesthesia was June 28, 2002. Power was also transferred then.

A previous exam had detected "benign polyps," and advisers say this ongoing follow-up was required. The time of the transferred power is expected to be two and half hours on Saturday.

Come on people, have SOME sympathy. Put aside your dislike for the President and have some respect.

I hope none of you scoffers have to go through that procedure. Very rude and cold.

I hope his is found healthy. Leave him alone.

Oh, this one is too easy. This procedure is entirely a waste of time and money. All the doctors need to do is ask Bill O'Reilly to take a look around and report back. God knows he has his nose so far up Bush's a$$ that he has a bird's eye view of all the crap coming from the WH. M
Finally, someone gets to stick to GWB.  Now he knows how we feel the past 7 years!
It's great bush can afford test like this. Common folk like us can't afford these routine examinations. We just hope & pray for a good outcome - He ought to have to wait like people like us who can't afford routine every so many year test. We have insurance but a big deductible so it's basically for major illnesses. We are told to get this exam & others but haven't since it would be out of pocket and we have no symptoms which I guess he didn't-maybe he ought to save taxpayers money & pay for it himself if he wants the exam.  Don't really give a damn if he's ok one way or the other especially don't think he should have free medical
whatever happened to McCain?
Why NOT give Cheney the reigns  of power during the butt-job?  Every time Cheney has something wrong with his heart, Bush finds out what it's like to be "a heartbeat away from the Presidency".
Did they do an occult blood test first? That's pretty cheap. And if they did, is that why they ordered the colonoscopy? Or are they doing another one because of the benign polyps they found the first time?No one wants to be diagnosed with cancer. And  I wish everyone had the health coverage necessary so that even routine tests could be performed.
" But the holders of the two offices between the Vice President and the Secretary of State, the Speaker of the House and the President pro tempore of the Senate, are required under U.S. law (3 U.S.C. 19) to resign their positions in order for either of them to become acting President—an unlikely event considering that Vice-President Bush was merely not immediately available. Haig's statement therefore reflected political reality, if not necessarily legal reality. Haig later said,

"I wasn’t talking about transition. I was talking about the executive branch, who is running the government. That was the question asked. It was not, 'Who is in line should the President die?'"[14]

"
Haig said he was "in charge", during what could only be described as an unusual emergency situation. He never said that he was President or that he would become president. A misunderstanding blown out of proportion.
"Notice how brave he is in facing his rectal exam.  To bad he didn't show that kind of guts when he cut and ran to the Natl. Guard.

Go down to the nearest airbase and call out any Interceptor pilot you can find there and tell him that you think Interceptor pilots are cowards.
Then after you get out of traction go take a ride in one of the 60's era Jet fighters, there are several two seat trainers still around, including a few F-104s. Not F-102s since they were five times more difficult to fly than modern fighters and killed many a pilot before being withdrawn from service.

I never got past the Cesna 150 myself, bad depth perception. I learned enough to have respect for anyone who could handle a beast like the F-102.
Whoever made the "happy a$$ probe" comment, you are my new best friend! Hope the anesthesia wears off while the probe is still in! Hey, if Cheney dies while Bush is under, does that make Pelosi the president?
Angelique..Hope he is dam uncomfotable.  It should be as bad as a soldier in a humvee with no armor on the road with the most IED'S.
I will pray for that today and tonight.
Dumbledore Dies...  oops.. wrong spoiler

Hey Angelique Smyth-Goodmeister--we know you are really Dick Cheney--you Badmeister--you!
He'll be farting into the Oval Office chair again in no time...do they re-upholster after an election?
I amd so glad to read President Bush. So many times on the news and press we do not read or here President Bush.
He is our President and we should respect him in calling him President.
I live overseas and to have My President disrespected pains me and other Americans liveing overseas.
Do they know where to stick the tube in this guy?
Amazing how empowering keystrokes from the privacy of your own home can be.  This is the Lib's way of expressing their simpleton views/opinions of the current administration? And judging from a lot of these comments, without any human decency, class, compassion or intelligence.  And where was the "appropriate language" and "attacking comments to others" police? This is the type of conversation/joking you would expect by the water cooler at the office, at a party or on late night comedy shows, certainly not to be posted on MSNBC's web site(a supposed respected news organization).  I'm all for freedom of speech, but come on, MSNBC would have been better off selling the material to Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jay Leno or David Letterman. Or maybe, just maybe, MSNBC is just trying to break into the late night scene?

I'm sorry to upset you two and I understand you attacking him as the President about the war and other offical policies, but (don't laugh there) he is also a human being having health issues. Why attack and laugh at him regarding something so personal.

Please say what you want and criticise or applaud his policies or non-policies and leave the personal attacks out of it.

Even I was worried about Cheney taking over!

""lefties". that is the word the ultra right, tight a##, religious, mullet wearing gun rack in the pick-up types use since "commie" no longer exists.

Plenty of Commies still out there kicking weakly.
To a Centrist the Left extends off the edge under the table and emerges as what is perceived as the far right.
And just whats wrong with a gun rack in a pickup truck, its no worse than a cupholder in a Beemer and less dangerous than a cellphone.
Be happy that our Religion exists, otherwise atheists like Jeffery Dahmer might be the rule rather than the exception.
The Islamicist seem to be more like Dahmer than anything else these days.
I have to confess that while I laugh at some of these sophmoric comments, First Read had to know that posting this topic would elicit tasteless jokes about the president's exam. I think he is the worst president in the modern era but I also think the guy should be given a break in a case like this. We should concentrate our energies on how to end the war in Iraq ASAP.
%%% ...do they re-upholster after an election?

Nope.  Stains from Clinton are still all over the place.
"All comments must be approved"....and this is what you call comments directly related to the blog and not attacking? That in and of itself is funny.

This entire thread was nothing but disgusting and there was not an intelligent word here. Do you allow such as these juveniles make comments that are not worthy of toilet paper use?

Or do you just weed out any credible comments. This is no better than Yahoo's old "comment" offers which thankfully have been stopped.

Hopefully yours will do the same.
## Come on people, have SOME sympathy.##

Good luck with that.  The haters by now have responded.  And that's what the left does best.
Hate.
I see they found five polyps during the exam...Reid, Hillary, Pelosi, Kennedy and Gore.
I wish I could find a doctor who works on Saturday.
Horry Patter- how's things over in Cincy?  BTW- I just read on another post hat Bush had his butt-scope at Camp David.  Any reason he wouldn't have preffered a nearby VA hospital??  (BTW #2- take a look at all the other posts here, and tell me I'm the only one who's brain is "MIA", wouldja?)
Love you truly, love it truly that shrub is taking it up the WAZo000O! HOPE HE HATES IT!
