Poignant moment for Edwards

Posted: Monday, July 23, 2007 7:44 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Mark Murray
Turning to the question of Iraq -- finally! -- Anderson Cooper referred to a Citadel grad, Shane Childers, who died in Iraq. His picture was on the big screen in the debate hall.

When the camera turned to the candidates, some were scribbling notes, except for Edwards (in that particular screen shot), who just stared at Childers' photo. It was a pretty powerful moment.

Yes! Biden's stance was the clearest and reflects the appropriate response to the grim situation in Darfur. Everyone else kind of shuffled around about whether or not American ground troops belong there.
I noticed that as well.  Not everything requires taking notes.  Sometimes you need to pay attention and be respectful.
Actually, I believe CNN said that the podiums had screens in them, and the candidates had the option of either watching the questioner on the big screen, or on their small screen.
So Jen - some candidates were scribbling notes WHILE they were watching the video on the podium?
LOL
