Clinton leads in new Florida poll

From NBC's Mark Murray
A new Florida polls shows Clinton with a double-digit lead over her closest Democratic competitor, while Giuliani and Fred Thompson are running neck and neck in the state's GOP contest. According to the survey, which was conducted by Mason-Dixon, Clinton leads among likely Democratic primary voters at 31% -- followed by Obama at 17%, and Edwards at 12%. No other Democratic hopeful registers at more than 4%.

Meanwhile, in the GOP race, Giuliani is the choice of 21% of likely Republican primary voters. Thompson comes in second at 18%, McCain's at 11%, and Romney is at 7%. The margin of error in both polls is plus-minus 5%.

Strikingly, 34% of Florida GOP primary voters say they're undecided (which easily tops Giuliani's 21%), while 30% of Democratic voters say the same thing.

*** Come see why...hillaryclinton.com
Let's continue the conversation, hillaryclinton.com
I don't like all of any of the Republicans right now. Where is Alexander Hamilton when you need him? :-)
If 30% of Democrats in Florida are Undecided, it's not really Hillary's number that matters but that Undecided number--especially since the Florida voters have had plenty of time to see Hillary in action and obviously aren't sold on what they see.
Shot by Aaron Burr, which reminds me, when do you think Hillary and Barack will call for their seconds and bust out the dueling pistols?
So you guys give MSNBClinton a headline re the Florida poll (even though 30% of the voters are undecided!) but stick John Edwards and Mitt Romney's Iowa leads in the new KCCI poll into a short paragraph with no link or actual numbers?  Interesting, at the least.
poll numbers are nothing more than a projection of the corporate medias wishes, ignore them and vote for the candidate that you think would be best for the nation
With undoubtably the greatest name recognition...Clinton's 31% doesn't seem like a commanding number. That means that almost 70% support someone else (or are undecided). I'll believe that Hillary is the inevitable winner when her numbers start approaching 50%.
Just a click away...hillaryclinton.com
Is anyone taking steps to assure that the Florida vote will be legitimate in '08??????
Oh Jeb is having the PNAC help with that........
Hillary-lovers...stop drinking the campaign Kool-Aid. Thirty-one percent is not so impressive when considering that 30% are undecided.  People usually make up their minds in the last week of an election or primary.  A long way to go.  Once again, the MSM is projecting a false "inevitability" about HRC.
Not only does she lead in FLorida, but the news from the Lone Star State is shocking. The GOP stronghold is no more according to a new poll which puts Hillary tied with McCain and Giuliani (The GOP Frontrunners). The real shocker are the 29% undecided Texans. In that arena, Hillary is a 2-1 favorite over McCain and 3-1 Fav over Giuliani. Speaks volumes about the GOP candidates. I think Jerry from Corpus Christi needs to start doing some grass roots work pronto before the Dem's bite him in the rear ... or maybe they already have. You go girl!
I Want A Re-count!
Six months of glowing publicity and Barrack Obama can only get 16% of the democratic vote?  No wonder he’s on the attack.
At a time like this, Obama is the only candidate with the right attitude to  be president of the United States. Regardless of his politics I think he would move the country in the right direction before any other candidate
isnt florida tom foleys home base .Im not surprised thatr the republicans are going with the two guys who defend marriage so well they did it a few times,if you cant trust the person who swore to god they would be tru how do everybody he didnt tsake an oarth to supposed to feel TRUST THEM it was only thier wife they left for younger better models morning in america im sure fred enjoys waking up to the new mrs thompson better than the old one ,Gentlemen i suggest we follow thier lead whos for forsaking an oath with me ......Do you swear to uphold the constitution............I DO
Now there is a poll out that you wont hear the so called pundits who are actually...lets say not the real voters...enthusiastic about.
Apparently 53% of the voters agree with Obama's stand on foreign policy in comparison to 22% for Clinton...check Rasmussen today.
Look...all Obama has to do is beat this to death. Nothing more, nothing less
What?
You can fool some (31%) of the people all of the time, and all of the people (see Bush/Cheney) some of the tim, but ............

....... Wait til the primaries
Rasmussen is reporting just what I suspected...only the inside the belt wayers, who live and die by political strategies, think this is a Hillary win. Hope it moves some of the polls.
I still don't understand Clinton's lead over Obama. Is she really that much better? I don't think so. In fact, I like Obama better. I agree with him on more issues.
Will all you candidate acolytes stop pointing us to your master's websites? They are the LAST place I would go if I were seeking legitimate information about the candidates.
Interesting stuff going on in Texas; same thing is happening in Nevada. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I as well am assuming Hillary is going to get the nomination. Because that's what the main street media is telling me.

Obama is a striking candidate against all the rest.
Poll is as volatile as stock market. The last time i checked she was leading by double digit; however, the post debate poll shows that the gap is narrowed down.

My point is this, poll doesn't count. It is the pundict way of brain washing un-informed voters. If you fall for it, then the Democrat can kiss the 2008 good bye.
Peterson "I still don't understand Clinton's lead over Obama. Is she really that much better"
If you listen to what Obama has to say, its all ideal talk without any subustance. Obama is a good public speaker but nothing beyond, and I think most of the people get this.
FYI...NEW VOTING MACHINES, WITH "PAPER" TRAIL WILL BE USED IN FLORIDA'S NEXT ELECTION.
Did Obama vote yes on the immigration bill?
Now if they can just teach people in Florida how to punch a hole in the card......
*** FYI...NEW VOTING MACHINES, WITH "PAPER" TRAIL WILL BE USED IN FLORIDA'S NEXT ELECTION

The Democrats will still manage to screw it up.
Bravo,  if people just voted the issues, we wouldn't have ended up with 8 yrs of Dubya. Fact is, being a good public speaker IS important and Obama is articulate and straightforward. People don't care if you have a 17 point plan for health care reform or whatever. Just ask President Gore and pres Kerry.

Fact is the poll numbers at this point are still just name I'd primarily. Most voters are still months from tuning in to the race but when they do. Obama has the money to introduce himself and move the numbers. Watch him to staart rising in the polls in the final month before primaries start.

I would like to comment on why more time was allowed to
Obama than Mrs. Clinton in the debates? Her experience
is so much superior than his.I would have liked to heard more from Mrs Hilary-
How do people feel that Mr. Thompson is not participating in the debates and then he will be coming in fresh-I am not to please that he has avoided these and I am mortified to think that he may even be
a candidate that might win just because he is a tv actor- and I am also worried that Obama may be in the running with such little experience and naiveness. Maybe in 8-16 years he will be prepare however not now... It is frightening to even think he may be president. We need a strong person like Mrs Clinton.
-
I would like to continue to comment on the debate. I thought Mrs. Clinton was incredibly knowledgeable and prepared-She is truly a remarkable person. We all have
negatives and positives-however Mrs Clinton will be a
wonderful president because of her negatives and positives-She has the knowledge, experience and perservirence to do the job!
Ehh - that Texas poll isn't exactly 'new', having been done in April and May and released in June. It isn't exactly 'believable' either.
mm, ma: "If you listen to what Obama has to say, its all ideal talk without any subustance. Obama is a good public speaker but nothing beyond, and I think most of the people get this."

Funny thing is, I haven't heard any substance from Hillary.  I've seen her throw out some nuts and bolts, but there's no engine.  There are a lot of people who would say that Obama has substance.

Consider this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhpKmQCCwB8

Lot's of people consider that substance.
Nora - there's a video floating around of Bill Clinton before the 1992 election saying that judgment and people skills is much more important than experience.

The internet is really starting to change elections. Now campaigns don't have to do their own op research - there's an army of internet users out there doing it for them.

Also I'm predicting some journalist or columnist will come out with a piece soon about how our greatest presidents, as judged by historians or popular polls or whatever, have also been our least experienced. It will create a buzz, and at that point Clinton will start noting how she has less years in elected office than Obama, lol.
Why would a front-runner with double digits lead attack Opponents?

That Hillary attacked Obama after the pundits announced that she won the debate showed all Americans that she knew deep down in her heart that she lost the debate and might be loosing the nomination very fast too.

Hillary has a master-pollster in Mark Penn; so Hillary knew something that we don't.

Hillary would not have attacked Obama like she did if nothing was amis.  We just have to wait and in the coming weeks and months, we'll see and know what her campaign saw and knew.
I'm leaning toward Obama and planning to caucus on his behalf because he's the most progressive candidate when it comes to foreign issue.Hillary sounds too hawkish on foreign policy and i'm afraid she may not throw away the cowboy deplomacy that the Bush's administration had been using.
No Ron Paul?
I hope we get Clinton/Obama for 8 yrs and then Obama as president for 8 more after that. Or either way around. I think Clinton has a better chance to win now and Obama will be more ready after 8 yrs of being vice president.Edwards and Richardson would be a great addition to that administration. I think this is a nightmare for some right wing republicans... so democrats, lets make this happen.
Nora... Look what a hell hole we are in with the present INEXPERIENCED guy. A drunk most other drunks would have a beer with, great drinking buddy..got elected! Inexperienced. Lets not fall for that crap again. Obama is a great guy  but inexperienced. Biden is experienced, Clinton is experienced, Richardson has experience, Edwards is smart and experienced. Vote for an experienced Democrat.  Women are the majority, vote early, vote often, vote!
WE NEED JOHN EDWARDS!!!   HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO IS REALLY GOING TO FIGHT FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS!!!    COME ON PEOPLE!!  WISE UP!!   LETS GET EN EDWARDS/CLINTON TICKET AND GET OUR AMERICA BACK!!!
