And it's not just cleavage...

If you or an ally is the recipient of a political attack, what do you do? First you respond to it -- and then you raise money off it. We saw this when the Edwards campaign issued fundraising solicitations during the tiff with Ann Coulter. And now the Clinton campaign is trying to raise money after its recent spat with Obama.

In a email solicitation, Clinton campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle writes, "Last week, one of the leading Republican candidates equated Hillary with Karl Marx. Yesterday, one of the leading Democratic candidates called her 'Bush-Cheney lite.' Can you imagine?? Hillary like George Bush??!! Or Dick Cheney!! Well, I guess this is what Hillary gets for being the strongest, most qualified, the most substantive, the most experienced, the most ready to be president. That's what Hillary has gotten all her career for being willing to fight for change." (No mention that Clinton struck Obama first, when she told an Iowa newspaper on Tuesday that Obama was "irresponsible" and "naive" for stating that he would meet with rogue world leaders without precondition.)

More from the email: "[Y]ou are Hillary's family; you are Hillary's friends. You are her strength. Almost one million of you -- and she's counting on you to stand with her. You've been there, in the trenches with her, day after day, week after week, year after year. Now there's only one thing I'm going to ask you to do: CONTRIBUTE. Send Hillary $5, 10, 15. Anything you can afford. Every dollar helps Hillary fight back."

What the heck is this? E-mail solicitation whining about attacks that she started, bragging about readiness without discussing any issues?!? I don't even know what to say anymore.
Poor, poor Hillary....
Are people picking on you ?
Use your 'experience' Hillary.
That always works
10 s on the way any way i can do it it will be done.People are so afraid of a strong women you would think no one had moms or grandmas or aunts or sisters .They can do anything we do with more compassion and caring than any man .We produce life women nurture protect and grow it >Man is the number one destroyer of life on his plane,a womens poin of view is jus wha we need
she disgusts me.
Barack Obama, when running for the U.S. Senate, said NO, our soldiers should NOT go to Iraq, they should be in Afghanistan and Pakistan. When, according to Hardball last night, EIGHTY PERCENT of the country felt we should go into Iraq. And Barack Obama still said NO. WHEN HE WAS RUNNING FOR A SENATE SEAT.

He took a huge gamble going against the tide.

Hillary will never, ever change, never. She's soooo into polls. And on the Iraq issue, she lost - big time. She's no different than Bush, Cheney. NO DIFFERENT.
I had signed up on Hillary's website a long time ago - just to keep up with what was going on but after learning that she is using the number of people signed up to receive emails as her number of supporters "almost one million of you" I removed myself from her list.  That is after receiving this latest solicitation.  I am amazed that they would send that out - she started the whole thing and now she is looking really stupid.
Tunnel vision, closed circle fever. For all the so called organization of the Clinton campaign, cant they see that the faster they let this rest the better for them?
As things r, Obama may never be able to use the Bush-Cheney comparison again..but raising money off it? people r gonna ask why did he call u Bush lite? And Obama's people r going to say Iraq and even the dumbest person/the most biased person in America knows thats not good..not good for her
START THE MEANINGLESS FIGHT YOURSELF
BLAME EVERYONE ELSE FOR THE FIGHT
RAISE MONEY TO GET AND KEEP POWER

THIS IS JUST LIKE BUSH-- HILLARY IS BEHAVING LIKE BUSH
Can't wait for the first war over "are those your pants, or did you gain weight?"
Stop it Hillary -- it is embarrassing.  I say it as someone who is willing to support you but is having second thoughts. I have sent small amounts of money to Paul (yes I know he is a Republican), Richardson, Edwards, Obama and Clinton but soon I will be cutting back on who I support and increasing the amount. I definately won't be responding to the email appeal.
I'm not contributing to left-wing Bushism and that's exactly what Hillary is.

Time for a change.
I can understand the issue with the Hillary Cleavedge scandal, she needs to cover up a little as evidenced in this magazine cover. See: http://steelturman.typepad.com/thesteeldeal/images/hillary_clinton_boobs_bill_cleavage.jpg
Well, I guess this is what Hillary gets for being the strongest, most qualified, the most substantive, the most experienced, the most ready to be president.
Yup, I guess she's 'right'.  You get called Bush and Cheney when you have those qualities...... ;-)
Hillary's enthusiasm for the war was as strong as Bush/Cheney's going in and for a long time afterward she was as strong a supporter of Bush policy in Iraq as Lieberman.  The idea that she really only meant for Bush to use the war powers she voted him as a diplomatic tool is patently absurd.  When she had the chance to vote for more diplomacy and coalition and consensus building via the Levin amendment she voted against.  Bush could not have been clearer that he meant to go to war no matter what so no one with more brains than a piece of toast is buying Hillary's new position that she was shocked....shocked that more diplomacy wasn't pursued.  She was one of the Iraq war's earliest and loudest cheerleaders, no doubt with her newly traumatized New York constituents and need to look extra tough in preparation for a future run for Commander in Chief in mind.  She even threw in a ridiculous anti-flag burning amendment in her frenzy of pandering.  Can't believe she still doesn't have enough sense to quit patronizing her audience with that phony accent she pulls out only for talking down to African Americans.  How rude!
Bill Clinton made $10 MILLION last year;  the Clintons have an estimated net worth of close to $50 MILLION.

Why doesn't Hillary use her own money to fund her campaign???

As far as the commenter above commenting on Hillary's support for the war, search Youtube for "Democrat Hypocrisy" and you'll see video of lots of Democrats supporting military action in Iraq as far back as the mid 1990s.

Also on Youtube is video of Al Gore criticizing the first Bush administration for not doing enough about Saddam's WMDs, nuclear ambitions, and ties to terrorism.
Cinton will not get a single pennies from me. I'd rather give all my money to Obama or Dennis than Clinton.
Clinton's July e-mail: That Obama called me Bush-Lite. And for no reason - I did nothing to him at all. Send me money.

Clinton's August e-mail: The Department of Defense still hasn't apologized for its political attacks on me, that I immediately elevated from a personal letter to a campaign press release. Send me money.

Clinton's September e-mail: Someone noticed the color of my jacket again. Send me money.

Clinton's October e-mail: Obama is at it again! He responded to my attacks on him by attacking me. I thought he was supposed to be "different?" Send me money.

Clinton's November e-mail: Why aren't the 17 million of you on my e-mail list sending me money?

Clinton's December e-mail: Just you wait - I'll get even with all of you!!!
While Obama was opposing the war in 2002, here is what 'experienced' Hillary had to say on the floor of the Senate:

"It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security."

Not enough Bush-Cheney lite for you?  How about this quote from experienced Hillary: "Iraq both poses a continuing threat to the national security of the United States and international peace and security in the Persian Gulf region and remains in material and unacceptable breach of its international obligations by, among other things, continuing to possess and develop a significant chemical and biological weapons capability, actively seeking a nuclear weapons capability, and supporting and harboring terrorist organizations."
Call a spade a spade; Hillary was hip to hip with Bush and Cheney.
in the future when hillary and obama become running mates will they also become co-workers for americans to support and take to heart the issues only please. men and women for oil concerns dying every hour, children not being educated, older citizens in need of medical attention now right now which seems more impossible everyday in america. please enough juvenile behavior. michael filipovich
Hillary should just ask Obama for the VP slot right now. She really shot herself in the foot with this Email nonsense. We see whats important to her. MONEY!!!!
Massachusetts "She's soooo into polls". But we also complain when Bush is not sooo into polls.......
Mark Murray likes vermin because that's what he is all about.
"No mention that Clinton struck Obama first, when she told an Iowa newspaper on Tuesday that Obama was "irresponsible" and "naive" for stating that he would meeting with rogue world leaders without precondition."  And so does MSNBC and the rest of MSM who seem to want to characterize Obama as the angry Black male attacking Missy Hillary.  She attacked him FIRST, and he has every right and DUTY to defend himself!
That picture of Hillary on Bazaar, is truly Bizarre.  It is the grossest thing I have ever had the misfortune to see.  I still am a Ron Paul supporter other than that I am a charter member of the ABC campaign.

Anybody But Clinton.
Thank You
Lenber, Willowick, Ohio -- I did a page search for vermin and only came up with your post. How did that come out of left field?

**********Paul, I was not going to post anything since I was turned off by someone the last time I did.  However, I must say, you cracked me up on this one.  By the way, I was wondering what happened to you since I noticed you had not posted much the last couple of days.  I'm glad to read your posts again.
That picture is a fake. That link should be removed.
Hey Betty,

I notice you are in Baltimore. Are you aware of the "Baltimore for Obama" group? We meet regularly and canvass for change. Join us at the Obama website.

Yiannis
I'd like to ask a question: just for the sake of a civil and political conversation, does anyone think he might get a bump.  I just wonder if some people who were more reluctant to support him might have second thoughts about how tough he probably is.  From reading some of the comments, I gather some took a sight of relief, thinking that's the moment they were hoping for.  Well, obviously it shouldn't take a strong response to get people going but I guess that's politics.  Now, please understand I'm not implying he or she was right, just a simple question.
She now is a want to be Gomer Pyle!! This is a real Washington Paper Hanger!!!!!
Why does her campaign manager write like a seventh grader?
Hillary attacked Barack for being "naive."  But I can't imagine anything MORE NAIVE than Hillary's position on Iraq: Hillary has said that she voted for the Iraq war resolution but did not think that Bush would actually go to war.  (Instead Bush would use the war authorization as "leverage" to get Saddam to give up his WMD).  How can anyone say Hillary has better judgement on foreign policy than Barack?!  Let's not forget that Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld have all the experience in the world...
I have gotten mail several times and several glossies to donate to Obama, and from Hillary, and EdwardsKucinich, and also from republicans---they are all asking for money and mo money
Hillary lost it badly...All she can do is show little cleavage and ask for money.. What a pathetic situation!!!
nice article.  what, no photo?
worse yet, why does her spokesman look like he'd rather be someplace else all the time?  Sheesh, if that is the best Hillary can do.....Susan in Miami, time to break out that piggy bank and send your pennies to your girl, she is in trouble.  Bill better come a running and save his wife (again).
''Leftwinged Bushism''vs.Leftwinged Leninism. Decisions,decisions.........
If she doesn't want to be called Bush Lite then she should tell Bill to stop hanging around with Bush Sr.  The two are a real item; last March they both appeared at a convention for the telecom lobby (CTIA Wireless convention, March 30, 2007.)

If past "speaking" fees are any indication, Bill and Bush got somewhere between $200,000 and $400,000 for the half hour speech.   It is worthwile to note that Hillary is proposing spending millions of dollars to upgrade rural internet access.   Since the year 2000, Bill Clinton has earned an astonishing $41 million speaking in front of PACs, industry lobby groups, foreign companies, and a whole host of other people who have great interest in the legislation that Hillary pushes.   Look into the Chinese company CLSA and the import tariffs that Hillary suspended for them.   This is not rumor, simply look at Hillary's lengthy financial reports.

Here is a great picture of Bush Classic (tm) and Bush lite's husband celebrating their latest paycheck:  http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/31420/145/

A British interviewer once asked Colin Powell, when still in office, if he thought a person of color could rise to his level of power in Great Britain. He politely answered "No, I don't think it's possible." What the interviewer failed to follow up with is the following question: Do you think it's possible for a black man, or, a woman to be elected president of the Unitled States?" Of course the answer would have been "No". The following are currently unelectable to president of the United States: Jews, African Americans, Asians, Mediterraneans, Latinos, and women. It will be at least 25 years before any of the above are can be elected.
Anybody who worries about how tough Barack Obama is needs to take a real look at that Senate race.   Yeah, it looked easy at the end but that is because the nominated Republican candidate was so humiliated by his low polling numbers that he quit.  The press blames the guy's ex-wife, but that was clearly just an excuse.   Remember this is when Republicans were riding high and support for the Iraq war was at its peak.

Just to get to the Democratic nomination Barack had to defeat both a billionaire and an extremely well-connected darling of the Democratic establishment.  (Think on that, Hillary.)   At the beginning his campaign was considered quixotic, by the end the Republicans were looking around for someone -- anyone -- willing to run against him.
Paul, great post.

On July 3 the Clinton email was titled
"That's what I call a crowd" and started with "There's nothing quite like a crowd of 7,000 cheering supporters to let you know your campaign is on the right track and yesterday, that's just what Bill and I enjoyed in Des Moines."

However a reporter on the local Des Moines TV station video said the Hillary camp was saying 7,000 but local and national media said it was only 3,000 people.  Obama had 6000 at a previous Iowa event so Hillary had wanted to top that. Oh well, create the reality you want be telling a little fib.  Another example of Bush lite behavior.
Doles:
His answer at the debate got him a nice bump, while hillary dove.
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2007/07/24/snow.dems.move.meters.cnn

By and large this event was good for Obama
http://www.foxnews.com/video2/player06.html?072307/072307_hc_luntz&Hannity_Colmes&Focus%20Group%20on%20YouTube%20Debate&acc&Politics&-1&News&382&&&new

(It's almost as if her campaign needed to put Obama on defensive in order to take control of the message).

In this post-debate hissy fit I'd say there might be a bump for Obama in this by activating people that are unsure of or distrust Hillary.  But at the same time, this is galvanizing Hillary fans.  Either way, like 1% of people are watching this.
With all of "Hillary/Obama fighting like children", going on, I wonder: Why don't they knock each other off the platform and let the Serious Candidates come up front and center to deliver there ideas?  We need to focus on who SHOULD BE the best President, not for who raised the most amount of money in order to buy the Office, not by their physical looks or even their charming rhetoric.  We are all smarter than that now; we can see right thru a phoney. We've had six years to learn that lesson well.
Rich, that paper hanger crap is really juvenile and is way past tiresome. Go to the Rove talking points memo and see if you can come up with something else.
People that are amazed by Paul Miller's posts also are perplexed by shiney things.
It was "irresponsible" and "naive" of him to say that, she was right in pointing it out, Obama and Hillary both suck, lets see, woman in the whitehouse or a black person in the whitehouse, we loose either way.
That was cleavage?  I though it was her jowls drooping.
Hillary will not make a Good Leader for the free world, Her husband Bill was behind the Dubai Port deal and too 10 million dollare trying to pass the bill off as a good thing for the Country. These people just need to go away. We do not have leadership in the White House now and will not untill America is ready for a change in the Political System.
Why do we pay more to Politicians than the people that serve in the Military? It's time to clean house in Washington. Get out the dead wood.
Hello fellow democrats! When we elect one of our democrats, whether it be Obama or Clinton or Edwards or whoever...then get out and vote democratic because our candidates have ideas and beliefs that are a hundred miles away from the Bush/Cheney ideology. Otherwise we will end up with horrid right wing rule again. So hold your nose if you have to but then vote democratic! Don't be fooled by republican spin.
clinton nor obama are right for the job and neither can win the general election, nominate edwards or you will be electing rudy
