Spitzer's apology

Should we cross Eliot Spitzer off of any potential '08 veep lists?  Don't  miss his mea culpa in Sunday's New York Times, under the header "An Apology From Albany."

Spitzer's style has been compared to Giuliani's -- a tough prosecutor who never shied away from a bank of TV cameras. Spitzer, in his first six months, is having similar "getting along" problems as Giuliani had during  many parts of his mayoral terms. Compromising with folks who don't see things your way is not easy for an elected executive. Being a prosecutor is easy in comparison.

He gets caught with his fingers in the cookie jar and gets slapped down.  What a total moron.
DID SOME ONE SAY GONZO-GATE ?
So why aren't you as tough on Giuliani, Chuck?  Or do you, like most of the rest of the MSM, subscribe to the "Everything is OK if You're a Republican" rule?
Say hello to Gonzo, of the infamous Gonzo-Gate gang.
Just more democrat corruption. Hope he gets Nifonged hehhehe
if someone told me I was like giuliani I would knot they're teeth out
I am very glad I didn't vote for this guy. I dislike bullies - especially bullies who lie about their actions.

I heard someone say "gonzo-gate".
Three cheers fror "Gonzo-Gate"
Good for Gov. Spitzer, I appreciate his ability to rid his staff of those who have no integrity.  It takes time to do that - Tennessee was in a similar position a few years ago - have a little patience NY - it sure takes a lot of time (and unfortunately sometimes a lot of money) to clean up all that left over elephant do.  We are still cleaning it up in Tennessee, course it is harder to do when the speaker of the Senate is a do nothing repugnant, but it helps if the Governor is is not.
Dave - shame "Sunny" did not have the integrity to clean up his own repugnant mess, isn't it?
Jerry/Dave-such hypocracy!you guys are like the 3 monkeys when it comes to the republicans. you are acting like starry-eyed groupies. I am for throwing the book at any politicians who are proven to be guilty of a crime.
Union Baby All I've been hearing lately is another democrat going to jail. Is there a Ford in this state that's not on their way to jail, or under indictment?
Well other than Harold who is being snubbed in Nashville by the koskid butt kissers :-)
I'm sure that if and when they figure out what crime President Bush and Vice President Cheney committed, I'm sure they will throw the book at them.  Elliot got caught red handed,  If not him, his staff should be in jail right now.
Spitzer: typical swaggering, posturing, flash-dancing jerk who abuses the law only to gain some political advantage which is then squandered by his very own felonious behavior.  Bury the jerk!

Dave,
You are like a lot of other repugnants in this state - you are trying to forget the nightmare of the Sundquist administration - last week I read where one of his closest friends and advisers was going to jail - and I sure hope he starts talking - not everything was quite right about those hotel rooms in Italy being paid for by the state of TN, the road to Sunny's retirement village, or opening up the role to Tennessee's medicaid program to allow all those uninsured folks from Texas and Florida to move up here and rob us blind.
Maybe you did not live here then, I did, and I am still paying for sunny's day-tripping.
Guess the infatuation with Fred will die down pretty quickly when you start seeing all that footage and those old pictures of him with Don Sundquist.
I was pretty happy when Blanton got indited - thought it was time we cleaned up our act (no matter which party is in control or popular - wrong is wrong), pretty glad about the John Ford (the sister has been cleared by the way)getting caught - needed to be exposed for a long time.  That is the difference between us - I don't care what their party is, if it is wrong - it is wrong, and do something about it.  I admit it when a Democrat is wrong - shame you can't do the same for your party, you would be viewed with more respect if you did.
I can't hear you, oh ! "Gonzo-Gate"
When people really dig into Spitzer, they will see a lot more "fraud".  As attorney gen. he sued Express Scripts for fraud.  He has now given them complete control over the State Insurance Funds Workers Comp prescriptions through his "workers comp reform".  Basically, he handed the keys to the bank to the bank robber.
IMPAECH BUSH, CHANEY AND GONZALES.
A pity how many of the morons on here cannot read (or write) simple English. This is about Eliot Spitzer, not Atty Genl Gonzales. Eliot Spitzer, who tried to use the state police as his own private army. Though a couple of this blogs try to call the GOP "repugnants", don't think you can get much more repugnant than Gov. Spitzer's behavior, either as Gov or US Atty.
NV conservative - should you not be concerned with the behavior of your own repugnant governor and let the folks in NY take care of their own state?  Kind of like Jerry CC, - you are a few states away and should have more important fish to fry in your own state - after all isn't that what repugnants want - each state to be independent of the others?  States rights and all that stuff?
"Repugnants" - how intelligent. It's pretty tough to preach from the moral high ground whilst casting blanket dispersions over an entire group of people, Union Baby.

And yes, in case you're wondering, I am a Democrat, and I still think you're "repugnant" comments are idiotic.
Anybody read the apology before blasting Spitzer?  The guy couldn't have been more candid in saying a couple of zealots on his staff went too far in going after an opponent and now they're paying the price.

What I wouldn't give to have a crusading Governor or Attorney General willing to stand up to the special interests like Elliot Spitzer??!!  Whether it's taking on predatory lenders, or gouging insurance companies or attacking Big Oil, there's finally someone who is willing to go toe-to-toe against some big powerful interests.

This guy's the real deal and ought to be Attorney General under the next Democratic President!
Undoubtedly Spitzer is a strong and decisive leader.  What's more I believe him, unlike others in politics.
If this isn't poetic justice, I don't know what is.  Spitzer made a career out of being a sanctimonious prosecutor that ruined the careers and reputations of many very respectable people (Greenberg, Grasso, etc.).  Then, it turns out he has been an expert in dirty tricks all along.  "What goes around comes around", and what is better than that?
I wonder how many new yorkers liked express scripts.
I talked to them for 1 year while i worked at express scripts. Little do they know how that company screwed them with perscriptions that did not transfer and credit cards that never transferred so people would get a bill while a cc is on file, while express scripts paid bottom wages to customer service reps to explain with what they call empathy their new 3 tier copay while the big shots raked in from that huge contract new york signed with them. barret toan laughed all the way to the bank. where is elliot spitzer going with his supposed lawsuit also.
