Has Schumer started impeachment proceedings because he "feels" Judge Roberts lied about the state of his health?
Good health to him and his......
They should keep him in hospital for another 2 to 3 years.  Must be very careful he does not fall down again. He has great insurance and will not cost him a dime.
Dave,
Maybe he was not under oath at the time of the lie?  If he was not under oath then it is the typical lie that most tell on a daily basis and although it is unethical, it is not illegal until it told under oath.

Roberts was already on the list.  Chuck just moved Robert's name up 15 notches on the news.

Reagan is on the list too.  Don't anyone tell Chuck that Ron has passed.  Lets see how long it takes Chuck to figure it out.
At least he has health insurance!!
Word is that Roberts previous seizure from 1993 was known to the good Senators during the confirmation hearings, but no one brought it up.  Schumer was probably too busy collecting moveon and dailykos money to be bothered with it anyway.
Imagine if this Justice was gay, he wouldn't be allowed visitation by his partner in the hospital in most states. Oh, those compassionate conservatives!

Coincidence that he recently purchased a house in Maine. Hmm, who else lives there, lemme think....
Sounds like Guilt to me, Judge.
Give it a rest, you guys. I don't like Bush's politice, policies, lies, etc. I don't agree with the ultra conservative court appointees...but really: Judge Roberts doesn't' deserve flack because he had a seizure the cause of which the doctor's have not found. Get well Judge Roberts...from a moderate liberal.
He's got bushheimers disease. Mc Cain also has it, as well as Gonzales. Both were struck dumb by this brain illness.
The shrub has not ever, ever, sought out or appointed any STAND UP GUYS OR GALS EVER!!!  They all fall and fail! He and his friends are dishonest and confused.
He would not know a stand up guy if he fell over him.
His so-called seizure is really a stroke.  But he doesn't need to be competent to be a good republican vote on the supreme court.  At least he doesn't have to worry about being bothered by a guilty conscience.  No conscience--no guilt.

The news reports said he was found foaming at the mouth. I can just picture him presiding over the senate's impeachment trial of Gonzo, while alternately foaming and blathering incomprehensible nonsense.
How about an independent medical exam to check competency? After all, he is the Chief Justice of SCOTUS.
I understand that in the state of Deleware, a redneck is called a moderate liberal. Sometimes this can be confusing. We should try to standardise our terminology.
Knock it off, Dave. Quit trying to be a Rush or Sean or Mark-wannabe. It isn't convincing at all and, more importantly, it is terminally unfunny. What does Schumer have to do with this anyway - aside from you attempting to be 'funny'?

I may not agree with Justice Roberts politically but I wish him well as a decent human being should. Head injuries are not fodder for cheap comical 'entertainment'.
All good humor is based in truth M, boley :-)

“We should reverse the presumption of confirmation,” Schumer told the American Constitution Society convention in Washington. “The Supreme Court is dangerously out of balance. We cannot afford to see Justice Stevens replaced by another Roberts, or Justice Ginsburg by another Alito.”

Who are you to tell me to "knock it off" anyway? Did you read the trash posted here, by your low life buddies?
Has Senator Reid declared him dead yet?
Dave,

I do not have any 'buddies' here. That's the beauty of being an independent thinker. I can think for myself and I am not allied with anyone else here. My objections to any comments that are derogatory of the Chief Justice apply to everyone regardless of their political leanings.

Schumer's point is valid - he doesn't want to see the High Court become lopsided. I agree with that. I wouldn't want it to be lopsided either to the Right OR to the Left. The Court should represent BOTH sides - not just one or the other.
"Imagine if this Justice was gay, he wouldn't be allowed visitation by his partner in the hospital in most states."  What does that have to do with anything?
I wonder what the repubs would do if Justice Roberts became brain dead like Terri Schaivo. Would Bush and his boys try and intervene to keep him alive even if his wife wanted to pull the plug? Ah no, the rules are different for the repubs.
Roberts stepped in horse piddle?
Wish Justice Roberts well, I think he in for more "seizures". They don't just go away.
Now from a cold political view. This likely means Roberts will not be on the Supreme Court for as long as predicted. So a change in the court will be sooner rather than later.
It makes the 2008 ELECTION even more important.
Justice Roberts was foaming at the mouth? That sounds more like Scalia to me.
As someone else with a seizure disorder, I find many of these comments offensive and insulting to the 2.3 millon Americans with epilepsy.  I have nothing else in common with Justice Roberts, and wish we had a liberal chief justice, but nevertheless, I wish him well and a future that is seizure-free. Wow...reading some of these comments is just pitiful.  When Senator Johnson suffered his ailment...did conservatives on this board talk about how wonderful it would be if he'd be permanently incapacited...then we'd get the Senate.  No.  I for one wished him the best and I am happy to see him getting healthier.  Yet, here we have a Supreme Court Justice that the left is not too fond of...he falls ill and the comments have to do with how great it would be to replace him and how this is Bush's fault.  The appropriate thing to do is to wish he and his family (2 young children) the best.
bb ponders: I wonder what the repubs would do if Justice Roberts became brain dead like Terri Schaivo. Would Bush and his boys try and intervene to keep him alive even if his wife wanted to pull the plug? Ah no, the rules are different for the repubs.

No bb - that is what the Democrats are doing with Senator Tim Johnson.  Johnson can barely walk, let alone function as a Senator.  Can't take a chance on giving up that seat though.  Citizens of South Dakota only have one voting Senator?  Too bad.  SD-ians need to take one in the shorts for the team.
