Mr. Magoo to Yosemite Sam?

Romney hit Obama with a prepared line during Sunday's GOP debate, saying he's gone from "Jane Fonda to Dr. Strangelove."

Well, the Giuliani campaign took a cue from Romney on MSNBC this afternoon and said the former Massachusetts Governor has gone from "Mr. Magoo to Yosemite Sam" on immigration. Giuliani communications adviser Jim Dyke delivered the one-liner in response to Romney saying New York was a "sanctuary city" for illegal immigrants while Giuliani was mayor of the Big Apple.

**** UPDATE **** The Romney campaign issued this response:
"In other words, there was absolutely no explanation of or rebuttal to the fact that Rudy Giuliani openly supported and administered policies that encouraged illegal immigration to sanctuary cities like New York City.  Name calling, yes, but no substantive response refuting those policies."

This is all productive as hell!  No wonder the GOP grassroots have been choosing "none of the above" in recent polls where that option was on the list.
I believe they have all gone from Barney Rubble to Fred Flintstone.
No, no - more like "Father Knows Bst" meets "The Manchurian Candidate."
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans Report Card on U.S. Senate:

^ No Democratic Senator received a grade BELOW B-
^ No Republican received a grade ABOVE C.
^ Most interesting were the grades from the southern states - NC, OK, SC, LA, GA, LA - Every  senator in these states received an F grade from our veterans.

The group gives an A average to the top four Democratic leaders in the House while giving an average grade of C to the top four Republicans. One of the biggest differences is among the senior party leaders. House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., gets an F from the veterans group while House Democratic leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California gets an A.

House Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman Rep. Steve Buyer, R-Ind., received a C from the veterans group while Rep. Lane Evans of Illinois, the committee's ranking Democrat who is retiring from Congress at the end of the year, received an A.

House Armed Services Committee Chairman Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., received a C while the committee's ranking Democrat, Rep Ike Skelton of Missouri, received an A minus.

The ratings give a B plus to Sen. Daniel Akaka, ranking Democrat on the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee and a D minus to the committee chairman, Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho. Senate Armed Services Committee chairman Sen. John Warner, R-Va., did slightly better than Craig, with a D plus, while Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan, the armed services committee's top Democrat, received a B plus.
GoNzO-GaTe it will not go away. Hi Karl!
Hi! G.W. thanks for the reminder about gonzo-gate, that will not fade away.
no link, no group name, no point
They've gone from bad to worse, along with their comparisons. Where is the "Peace On Earth"? Where is the "Purity Of Essence"? 'Mandrake...we're all Fluorodated now.'
So let me get this straight.  The leading contenders for the Republican Presidential nomination are:

A twice-divorced, mistress-flaunting, cross-dressing, cousin-marrying, pro-gun control,  pro-choice, pro-gay, pro-opera, elitist ex-mayor of ultra-liberal New York City, who supported an organized-criminal for director of Homeland security.

And a Hezbollah-praising, dog-abusing, Scientology-reading, flip-flopping, Governor of ultra-liberal Massachusetts , who thinks his sons are fighting the war on terror by campaigning for him, but doesn’t think we should spend billions trying to catch Osama bin Laden.

Really?   Are you sure?
They're both losers! Romneys a phoney and a scarey Mormon and Guiliani is a lying greaseball.
From IAVA website:

"The grades was compiled by Bob Geiger, not by the IAVA itself. Reflecting its non-partisan nature, the IAVA reports its grades by state, not by party affiliation. Indeed, the IAVA does not even identify party affiliation on its list; you have to search for an individual member of Congress to learn his or her affiliation.

One commenter implies that the Republicans might have received lower grades because they voted against trimming "budgetary fat." Here is a list of some of the measures Lincoln Chafee — the Republican with the best grade, a "C" — voted against; I leave it to the reader to decide whether the proposed expenditures were "budgetary fat" or necessary to ensure the well-being of those who risked their lives for their country:

Voted against allocating $2,000,000 for research into the treatment of brain injuries, a very common injury among Iraq veterans.

Voted against providing eligibility for retired pay for non-regular military service.

Voted against providing $1,975,183,000 for medical care for Iraq veterans.

Voted against protecting servicemembers and veterans from means testing in bankruptcy.

Voted against assuring that funding is provided for veterans health care each fiscal year to cover increases in population and inflation.

Voted against reducing the age for receipt of military retired pay for nonregular service from 60 to 55.

Voted against prohibiting profiteering and fraud relating to military action, relief, and reconstruction efforts.

Voted against expressing the sense of Congress that the removal of Saddam Hussein enhanced the security of Israel and other United States allies.

Voted against providing pay protection for members of the Reserve and the National Guard."
Hmmmmm....I think that all politicians are more like Deputy Dog than anything else. I live in Illinois. Has anyone seen how bad the goverment of my state is! I am sick to death of politicians! None of them do anything to help us. Why should I vote for any of them!!!
Now, Now, let's not call the AG names--Mitt might get upset. Nevermind that calling Obama "Hanoi Jane" belittled and obfuscated the Senator's actual position, perhaps that is what the Romney camp calls astute policy evaluation and a "substantive response" on the issues.
Besides, it isn't fair to pick on people who can't fight back, and it is apparent the AG can't. I mean, come on, when you can't even remember which lies you told the last time you testified, you're not really ready for the Olympics of the Mind, or even a good name-calling contest in a seventh grade schoolyard. Leave the AG alone; he has important work to do, he just can't recall what it is.

[list]

Yup.  Thats them.  Ever since Clinton the First, none of all that stuff matters anymore.

[Really?   Are you sure?]

The above will be the most quoted line from Democrats in America the Wednesday after they are told that one of the Republicans has yet again won the Presidency.

wonder what they call the voters they are courting?Just plain stupid?I guess the terrists are afraid to come get us(Bush speak)now that romneys sons are protecting us by campaigning for Daddy in their tough romney-mobile.Wish we could have the electionasap so we were not forced to listen to this drivel.
Romney is complaining about name calling? Hahahahaha
Let the mud-slinging begin!  These "guys" are like a bunch of kids in Junior High.  I just wonder how low they will go.  As long as they act like this, they are doing Hillary a favor - she can chuckle from above as they self-destruct in their stupidity - instead of staying positive and on message.

Democratic candidates - "The Weakest Link" - TV show
One big fool effeminate repub going after another big fool womanizer repub.Oh, how fun is this!
Weeks after Romney's 'Cleaver Family' radio ad purported him to be be just the dosh-garn swellest dad and hubby, we see the reality of politics. As attacks against him increase, and his responses become more jaded and political, is there still anyone out there who believes that such a person can be a politician on the national level and maintain his moral purity. Come on. Look at what's happening in Iowa, God's best and brightest tearing each other to pieces to win a beauty contest.
Romney is a MORMON republican for christ sake! No God fearing right wing, bible thumpin,goody-goody, "Christian" republican will ever vote for this pretty boy.If they say they are, they're lying-like usual.
The Back Street Boys....A group( of boys making noise)
Giuliani is the quintessential politician who will use and/or abuse anyone he needs to get things done so that he looks good to the public and/or the press; no matter who gets hurt in the process.  If you don't believe me just count the illegal immigant population in New York during his tenure or ask the communities where he sent the homeless people who were cluttering up the streets of New York.  He is truly a wolf in sheep's clothing.  Why his lack of abilty to judge character, his inabilty to stay committed to the people he loves, and his draconian policies are scrutinized more is a mystery to me.  Maybe, it's just because lots of people refuse to see an alleged hero actually has feet of clay.
So... does Romney realize that his response to Giuliani's "Mr. McGoo to Yosimte Sam" line could just as easily apply to his "Jane Fonda to Dr. Strangelove" attack on Obama?

Name calling, yes, but no substantive response refuting those policies. That pretty much sounds like the definition of a Republican to me.  Good job, Mitt!
