Jenna Bush engaged

One of President Bush’s twin daughters, Jenna, 26, is engaged to longtime beau Henry Hager, the First Lady’s office announced today.

Hager is the son of John Hager, assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of Education and former Virginia lieutenant governor.

President and Mrs. George W. Bush are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jenna Bush, to Mr. Henry Hager, son of the Honorable and Mrs. John H. Hager of Richmond, Virginia. Miss Bush and Mr. Hager became engaged Wednesday, August 15, 2007.

No wedding date has been set.

The Hager family is a well respected and well thought of family in Richmond. Anyone who worked for Hon. Mr.
John Hager(Henry's father) at his business knew he was a man of integrity and kindness. She has found a good person to marry and all the best wishes to the couple.

Regardless of one's political views or one's opinion of President Bush, Jenna Bush has never done anything to warrant the truly vicious comments that pervade this message board. So to all of those out there who hate President Bush, you're entitled to that. But unlike the President, Jenna Bush did nothing to you, she doesn't make policy and she is entitled to a happy (and private) life just like each of you.

Couldn't agree more, Terri. I don't think much of her dad, but I don't know anything about the girl, other than she got in trouble a few times. I didn't at that age, but I would have if everyone recognized me like they do her. Best of luck to them.

Oh I love this! Jenna is a mirror image of dumb daddy so that is why she is soooo easy to make fun of. I do recall fat drug addict Rush Limbaugh making numerous statements during his show about (then 12 yr old) Chelsea, something like "the Clintons have a new pet, a new dog in the White House.... and that dogs name is Chelsea. He then roared with laughter....Just remembering. Jenna is an adult now so all bets are off. Repubs can dish it out but can't take it.
