GOP may act against Craig

Might the Republican leadership remove embattled Sen. Larry Craig from committee assignments or request that he steps down? The leadership has not made plans to take those steps, but a GOP aide says, “We reserve that right.” Craig is a member of the powerful appropriations committee.

Also, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell called Craig yesterday prior to releasing the statement from the GOP Leadership calling for an ethics investigation. McConnell's office wouldn't characterize the call other than to say they were giving Craig a heads-up on the GOP position. In that statement, the leadership said it will be "examining other aspects of the case to determine if additional action is required."

Also note that while senators' press offices often spam Capitol Hill reporters with press releases from the mundane to the sublime, we've seen nothing so far from anyone except the previously mentioned statement from the GOP leadership yesterday.

Senator Craig must be a complete dote. How did he ever become a senator? Noone pleads guilty,who's innocent, that is really beyond stupidity. The gay community would prefer to have such a dote stay in his own back yard. Either stay straight or declare that you're gay. Don't be such a hypocrte.. I think the folks from Idaho should ask for his resignation.

If one is not gay or inclined to be, how would one know how to attract another gay person. if someone was next to me in a stall "tapping their foot" I might think they were listening to head phones. If someone put their hand on the other side I would certainly think they were sick of in need of toilet paper.

Please don't act against Craig. Being a Republican sucks a thousand times worse than being gay. If they could hook up the CEO of Halliburton to a vacuum cleaner, they could slurp up an oil spill the size of the Exxon Valdez in about twelve seconds. In an hour and a half, they could reverse global warming. How's that for an inconvenient truth?

Apparently Craig has a LONG HISTORY of rumours that he's a closet homosexual. So why Mitt would take the chance of bringing Craig on to his campaign, knowing he has to appeal to the ultra-conservative is beyond me. Stupid move.

I usually agree with the republican platform. Their stand on gay's and national defense is primarily why I vote republican. What are our elected republican legislators thinking? Scandals with lobbyist and now this one, who side are they on. If the GOP doesn't take action to police their candiates, you will see the democrats (liberals) take over the leadership of this country. If that happens then what is left of our country's morale fiber will be destroyed. Also, they will get us into a world war that will surpass the death and destruction of all 20th century world wars including conflicts.

I pray that the republican party re-engineer it organization and provide the American public with good morale leadership.

Senator Craig has consistently voted against Idaho workers and American workers, in general, and in favor of Illegal Alians ! This deal he is now accused of is just an end in a long line of wrong doing that the Senator has been involved in ! I, personally, have wanted him out of office for a very long time now ! Larry Craig is in the closet, or in this case, the bathroom stall, because our government put him there through persecuting and prosecuting homosexuals for most of his life. Ultimately, he has become a cowardly soldier fighting against his own sanity. He's spinning out of control because we are spinning out of control. Our culture still looks down on gays as immoral, while exalting the "morality" of straights. The mainstream media and our politicians are only willing to condemn those who condemn gays when the ones condemning gays turn out to actually be gay! It's time to just as clearly condemn heterosexuals who condemn homosexuals. The sanctity of marriage they self righteously claim to protect is only threatened when the only choice homosexuals are given is to marry persons of the opposite sex. These marriages are unholy facades, and ultimately the masks crack, and the human beings inside are exposed as those guaranteed the right to pursue their own misery.

So, we should be careful how we judge these damaged souls our laws have produced to govern us. They are this way because we never gave them the freedom to be otherwise.
