Ex-Thompson spokesman speaks...

From NBC's Mike Viqueira
...and he doesn't mince his words. On the very day Thompson begins his official announcement tour, former spokesman Jim Mills, who left the campaign earlier in the week, joked about his short-lived experience there: "About the only people who haven't worked in the Thompson press shop this summer are Larry Craig and that woman astronaut who wore those diapers cross country."

More from Mills, who previously was FOX's chief congressional producer. "I am currently checking in with my Catholic friends to see if they can recommend any local priests who still perform exorcisms." Our perspective here is that Mills -- through the humor -- is trying to show that he's bloodied but not bowed after leaving the campaign.

NBC News also has learned that Thompson communications adviser Mark Corallo has left the campaign.

And Freddy thinks he has a chance?

Hell, he can't get his own house in order - do you really think he can get the country in order?
The ship that sank in port, the Freddy boy.
Looks like Jeri Thompson has two more campaign roles to fill now. What's that, like 15 now?
A Phred presidency would be great fun watching the musical chairs in his cabinet and staff. He may be the best choice of the Republicans simply because he would never be able to get any of his agenda done. Kinda like Eisenhower, put the government on hold and play golf. It would be an improvement over radical upheavals.
Ahhh!! A trophy wife is on the warpath, FT advisors! Look out! Polish that trophy reall good, now!
I am a Republican. I would not vote for Fred Thompson. I would do anything for Lamar Alexander. No questions ask. Mr Lamar Alexander is a good person.
actually, a guy who says we should never leave iraq, the wealthy shouldn't be taxed and women shouldn't control their own bodies seems like a perfect fit for the mean-spirited and greedy loons who have taken over a once-honorable republican party.
Fred, Fred, Fred, Fred, Fred....Grady on Sanford and son
I'm pretty sure that when people start leaving your campaign before you even announce you are running can't be a very good sign. Thompson may rebound but I wouldn't put any bets on it. I'm not speaking as a Democrat now, just as an observation from an American citizin. I would say the same thing if it was a Democratic candidate.
The ugly, lazy old man is over before he started.
could it be that they jumped ship because they did not get the things they wanted,
i have a feeling that mr thompson marches to his own
drummer and not to the whims of everybody else.
i like mr thompson for president better than anyone else ive seen or heard, think ill vote for him....
Okay, I'm not up to speed on the inside story. Who is Mills saying needs the exorcism and what demon are we driving out?

Inquiring minds want to know.
James in Tennessee, what has Lamar Alexandar done in the Senate for the State of TN?  Get real.  I bet he finds himself in a pickle of a race next fall.  Maybe ole Harold Ford can come back and give him a run for his money.. until of course.. someone runs a racist ad.
Could he be saying that Fred's a wingnut and you'd have to be a pervert or a head job to work for (and vote( for him?  Not a very Fox thing to say about someone who believes he's the (un-senile, I suppose) reincarnation of Ronny Raygunz.
Please, no more fumbling, bumbling, lazy southern rich men running my country for me.  Haven't we already had that kind of person and that is why America can't wait to get someone new.
Ed

Just my opinion but the demon perhaps to be excised is a she demon, Jeri Dear, Fred's 24 year younger wife.

To quote an otherwise favorable recent article on MSNBC", a woman with a sharp tongue and sharper elbows".  She has fired people at will including campaign managers, though it seemed that this loose cannon has been reigned in by Fred to some degree til this latest debacle.

The word is that maybe like Mrs. Kerry, the wife may have a bigger taste for Fred to be President than he does.
