Oh-eight (D): Past is Obama prologue

CLINTON: She “rallied with rescue workers yesterday in support of a bipartisan bill to expand medical monitoring and treatment for New Yorkers exposed to the filthy Ground Zero air after the 9/11 attacks,” the New York Post reports.

On Saturday, the Washington Post took an extensive look at the Clintons' ties to the Indian-American community, and how the issue of outsourcing has helped Clinton politically with Indian-Americans -- but has caused her some problems in her courtship of labor.

Also over the weekend, the New York Times did its version of the "who is Norman Hsu" story. Reading it, one gets the sense that many Democratic campaigns are going to find more tainted money. The big question: How many donations did others make to candidates that Hsu repaid? And campaign finance investigations linger for months, if not years, though voters usually don't seem to care as much as the media.

DODD: The Connecticut senator was the subject of the weekly Q&A in the New York Times Magazine

EDWARDS: Per the AP, here's Edwards hitting Clinton over the weekend on health care: "For more than 20 years, Democrats have talked about universal health care. In 1993, Democrats controlled both chambers in Congress" and voters had elected "a president who actually had the courage to propose a plan for universal health care. It was completely killed" by lobbyists for insurance companies and the health care industry, Edwards said. "You don't have to take my word for it," he said. "You can ask the person who was in charge." That, of course, would be Clinton, her party's presidential front-runner.

Clinton's campaign fired back. "Voters aren't looking for which Democrat can launch the angriest attacks on other Democrats," spokesman Howard Wolfson said via e-mail. "They are looking for the candidate with the strength and experience to bring real change to Washington on day one, and that's Hillary Clinton."

Here's an "ouch" story if we ever saw one. The Columbia State looks at Edwards' ties to a subprime lender who may foreclose on at least 130 South Carolina homeowners. The lender in question was a subsidiary of Fortress (the hedge fund Edwards worked at part-time a few years ago). This is the same lender that the Wall Street Journal reported on last month and noted the foreclosures taking place in New Orleans. Here's the Edwards response in THIS article: “Edwards’ campaign spokeswoman Teresa Wells told The State last week any lender that uses deceptive practices, hidden fees and abusive terms ‘are predatory, and (Edwards) opposes these shameful lending practices that compromise our economic security as a nation and hurt working families.’”

She said Edwards never “invested a dime with Green Tree, never worked for Green Tree and had nothing to do with its operation.” Unlike the earlier Wall Street Journal piece, there's no promise in here of Edwards personally dipping into his pocket to bail out folks.

An interesting nugget from the AP's Ron Fournier, who learned that Edwards keeps a list of possible cabinet appointments with him, and it includes “more than one” Republican. Edwards: "I want to be ready for when I get sworn in.”

RICHARDSON: He tried some awkward one-liners in Las Vegas. The AP notes there were “groans” and “tepid chuckles.”

The Columbia State looks at Richardson wooing union leaders in South Carolina. The paper describes him as “a large man with an intense gaze,” who “had made a positive impression.”

OBAMA: The Los Angeles Times does a profile-type story about Obama's political past and concludes, "From Chicago to Springfield, his past is filled with decidedly old-school political tactics -- a history of befriending powerful local elders, assisting benefactors and special interests, and neutralizing rivals. Obama may be packaged as something new among presidential contenders, but in this town where politics is played like a blood sport he fit right in." That's music to Clinton and Edwards' ears.

On Sunday, the New York Times wrote about Obama’s 2000 congressional primary loss to Rep. Bobby Rush (D). “The episode revealed a lot about Senator Obama -- now running for president, against the odds again and with a relatively slim résumé. It showed his impatience with the frustrations of his state Senate job; his outsize confidence; his fund-raising powers; his broad appeal; and his willingness to be what Abner J. Mikva, a former congressman and supporter, calls ‘a very apt student of his own mistakes.’” It also showed his difficulty wooing working-class African Americans.

By the way, this piece sparks a thought we've noted before: Candidates who have experienced a loss at the ballot box usually handle the bumps in the presidential road a bit easier. Check out the last 12 presidential nominees, all of them experienced a ballot box loss before their successful nomination.
Bush 43 ('00 and '04) House race in '78

Bush 41 ('88 and '92): Senate race in '70

The Oprah fundraiser in Santa Barbara was a who's who in attendance.

"When you have been called, no one can stand in the way of destiny," Oprah said at the fundraiser, per the Chicago Tribune.

On Saturday, in addition to his fundraiser with Oprah, Obama spoke to a crowd of more than 5,000 people in Santa Barbara, CA, NBC’s Samantha Mehrotra notes. He focused his speech on change and called for an end to the Bush Administration’s policies. “[Americans] are sick and tired of being sick and tired… They are tired of an Administration that seems to be riddled with incompetence.” Obama further advocated for change by talking extensively about political reform and the need to “put an end to a certain brand of politics that has come to dominate the scene in Washington.” And he addressed talk about his experience (or lack thereof) by saying that “time does not guarantee good judgment.”

The Chicago Tribune notes that some of Obama’s contributors benefited from one Iowa town's labor woes (due to Whirlpool's acquisition of Maytag).

Its good to see that someone cares about the real heroes of 911, Hillary is a true peoples' champion and will make a great president.

Why is MSNBC trying to destroy her and promote Giuliani?

MSNBC is always looking for ways to bring her down, I have never seen any MSNBC report on Hillary without any attempt to keep her down, on the other side, Giuliani and other Republican clowns always get positive spins.

Media suppose to be neutral and fair.
Live outside Chicago.  Trust me, you have to be tough and throw sharp elbows if you expect to get anywhere.  does anyone honestly think Sen. obama would have made it this far without learning to navigate the cesspool of not just chicago but Illnois politics?  Personally, I am hoping Obama uses some of his Chicago politics against the slime of Clinton.  You have to be willing to get muddy if you want to throw a wrench into her machine.  Maybe now with things heating up, he will.
Especially when my party is so dumb as to be all misty eyed over the outsourcing maven.  Again, they just do not believe that Hillary is shipping jobs to India and insourcing just as much  The queen of free trade will make sure there is no jobs that pay a living wage to Americans if she is elected.
Open you eyes, take a deep breath and face reality, fellow democrats.  hillary is just another Bush and doesn't care about any of you.
go obama
Gooooooo, Hillary! Another Clinton becoming president is a right wing neocons nightmare. HaHa! Go Hillary and Bill!!
The Clinton's relationship with the Indian community is well stated, her husband's ties with INFOUSA, who sells lists to people who steal from Alzheimer's patients is also well known.  Never once, has the Clinton's decried the criminal element of INFOUSA, as if they don't care about senior citizens(which they never have seemed to care about in the first place). her relationship with Norman Hsu will only add to her problems.

John Edwards loves to talk about the poor and how they are just so mistreated. Then his name keeps coming up in companies that do shady business deals with poor people.  And people wonder why he is in third place?  It does not matter how much you attack people, as long as your name is associated with people that are a bunch of thieves and liars, your name will be dragged into the mud with them.  Just ask the Clinton's.

Bill Richardson is either running for President, trying to convince Las Vegas casinos that he would be a fine one man comedy show or trying to impress NBC enough to replace jay leno for the Tonight Show when he retires.
Diane - The problem with Obama getting "muddy" is that he has been preaching about the politics of change, and how he represents something different.  If he ends up being the same old-same old, that diminishes his appeal.
As an Indian American, its obvious that Clinton are in bed with many of the Indian Americans because of the money. After all, we are one of the wealthiest minority groups in this country.
What is it that Clinton can do for us? Absolutely nothing. I wonder why some of my fellow Indian Americans shower money on her.
Well, the reason most voters don't really care who political donations come from is because they know in one way or another most of it is tainted and/or used to buy influence.  The media cares because it gives them something serious to write about other than issues that really matter to the average person, like Brittany bombing at the MTV awards and hiring a helicopter to follow Paris Hilton to jail.  If one only listened to MSM one could think New Orleans has been rebuilt and Afghanistan is completely in friendly hands.
Why are many supporters of a particular candidate who shall remain nameless (Obama) exhibiting traits that are reminiscent of right-wing talk radio, the religious right, and President Bush?

Like the Limbaugh's of the world, they trumpet trumped-up accusations, stale scandals, and conspiracy theories in an attempt to damage the leading dem candidate, like they're not even members of the same party. They are doing the right-wing's dirty-work for them, whether they realize it or not.

Like The President, they disdain any information that doesn't fit their preconceived notions, to the point of tragicomedy, so they can continue on their road to "victory", even if there are few, if any signs that that victory is even remotely possible. They pile on their critics and anyone who doesn't agree, questioning their integrity patriotism and character.

Like the religious right, while expressing disbelief in the sciences (evolution, polling), they will cherry-pick a single item or data-point from the very sources they criticize, (that supports THEIR contentions) and shout, "What about this!" (NO, I didn't, "miss", it), as if having one piece of contradictory information invalidates the preponderance of evidence on the other side of the ledger.

Why are the supporters of the candidate who, "Can bring us all together", so polarizing and mean spirited, using rhetoric and invective that can only serve to alienate members of their own party? Why do they accuse the media, the polls, and their fellow democrats of being involved in some great conspiracy whenever something isn't to their liking? Why the need to pile on anyone who voices even the mildest criticism of their choice, and swarm on anyone who defends or supports someone else?
It would be easier to understand the appeal and believe the rhetoric of their candidate, if only they would exhibit some of those qualities in their representation of him here on this blog.

I don't know maybe you can tell us why ...since you are so good at it to...

Posted Sunday Sept 9 CNN website

No Union endorsements, thinning crowds, static poll numbers and ever more desperate rhetoric, from a candidate who's star burned brightly for a short time at the outset but is now on the wane.

a Complete list of Obama's accomplishments in the Illinios congress :

He moved onto the senate
Reality check.

Obama's new kind of politics means the following:

1) not attacking your opponent personally

2) not lying or or misleading voters about your opponent's positions

3) not changing positions for different speeches to different interest groups

4) daring to criticize positions that groups you're speaking in front of care about

5) seeking a broad political consensus based on optimism and not divisiveness

6) speaking more directly to the individual voter

This is the new kind of politics that so many people around the country are excited about, and the record shows that Obama has always stayed true to them.  People who want to pretend that a new kind of politics requires being either timid or infallibly pure need to get informed.
vanreuter, NY NY / van baby, your picture should appear in webster's dictionary as a visual aid for the word hypocrite, it's becoming increasing difficult to defend your gal hillary as more and more facts of her tainted money and power grabbing legacy come to light, I feel your pain, and the most heinous details of her true self haven't even been publicly released yet, mrs. clinton sold her self out years ago and now it's time for her to face the music, your ammo pack for hillary alas is empty

No union endorsements, True?

Thinning crowds, true?

Static poll numbers, true?

More desperate rhetoric, True?

That this merits re-posting from another (CNN) website, proves my point and marks LynMD as the exemplar of the kind of, "turn-off", Obama supporter, I'm talking about.

Van
Tuck - Obama has a long legislative history in the Illinois Senate, which included spearheading the biggest ethics reform package in decades and providing universal health care to every citizen under 18.  It's always good to do some research before you embarass yourself on a blog.

Van - If you want to say that a candidate should be judged by their supporters, then you're pledging to support no one, because every candidate who has ever run for President has had at least one total nutball supporting them; furthermore, the worst of the worst commenters on firstread are pro-Clinton, because last I checked, no one else spams their candidate's website incessantly, or does massive dumps of links that take up over a page like you do.  The saddest thing about your tirade is that most of the people criticizing Hillary here aren't even Obama supporters, and are either Republicans (like Jerry), or supporters of other Democratic candidates (like MK); clearly your candidate is disliked by many people across the spectrum, and your quickness to blame only Obama supporters displays your unwillingless to admit that fact.
"Why the need to pile on anyone who voices even the mildest criticism of their choice, and swarm on anyone who defends or supports someone else?"

Proving my point all day long.

Van
Van, that is a heck of a statement, considering Hillary is considered "Bush Lite" by the media LOL.

In case you have been living in a cave with Osama lately, Hillary is more controversy following her and more in the upcoming days.  The old saying of getting in bed with criminals seems to be true with Bill and Hillary.  She cannot be trusted, period.  Eventually, the sins of the husband will catch up with the sins of the wife and the White House will remain with the GOP.

If I was Hillary, I would be very afraid of Obama after the events of this past weekend.
Van,

It seems you don't get it at all. We are educated voters who cannot be brain wash by polls number, MSM and someone like you.

FYI: Hillary Clinton cannot be impose on us just like they imposed Bush/Cheney on us 7 years ago. We need something different from what we've been seeing from old baggage politician. I want someone that is authentic and appreciate ordinary Americans values. sinking. If you don't know, Ordianary Americans are the bedrock of this nation. They're the one keeping it from sinking.

No more soundbite politics, No more tell them what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear. We need a great President like Lincoln not just a president.
Van, the Clinton supporters on this site are no better than any others, and the fact that your post claims the opposite begs for attention. And when you get it, you claim that it proves your point.

"Like the Limbaugh's of the world, they trumpet trumped-up accusations, stale scandals, and conspiracy theories in an attempt to damage the leading dem candidate, like they're not even members of the same party."

So, from this comment, can we deduce that you are accusing anyone who questions Clinton's actions of not being true Democrats? And should they be thrown in with the likes of Limbaugh and jerry?

That smells a little bit like what is coming out of the White House.

You participate in what you accuse others of.
It's my opinion that the Obama supporters here are the worst offenders when it comes to sliming the opposition, all the while talking about how he is going to unite the country, and as I have been told repeatedly, this is an opinion blog.

I dare you to post anything from Clinton supporters that even remotely resembles the hate-speech that comes from, MKMO,Sierra,LynMD, and the rest of the Obama, "hit squad", every day.

The fact that so many will attack me personally, when I mostly post poll numbers and websites with unbiased info on all the candidates, whereas the hate-speakers go largely uncriticized, is further proof of my contentions that the Obama supporters here are poor representatives of the politics of inclusion that they claim to believe in.

Clinton supporters don't post the kind of inflammatory insults and rhetoric about the other candidates. We don't have to, as our candidate is way out in front and will be the nominee. If Clinton supporters posted the kind of trash about Edwards or Obama that is posted here about Clinton, there would be accusations of every kind of, "ism", you could name, and it isn't because there are no rumors, half-truths and unsubstantiated claims out there to use.

Once again, I dare you to re-post the most inflammatory, worst Obama (or Edwards, etc.)-bashing you have found here.
It isn't a hill of beans compared to the crap that is tossed at Hillary and her supporters every day.
That I am among Hillary's more ardent defenders, using supported sources to make my points and shoot-down false claims, has made me a target of the, "hit squad", and I am proud of that.

That several, "hit squad", denizens continue to call me out by name, long after I have ceased acknowledging
them and their rants, is further evidence of my initial contention.

This, "community", is often akin to groups of people on mountaintops, yelling at each other, with no side able to hear what the other is saying, simply shouting over one another. I will continue to try to cut through the static all the way to the election in November 2008.

Van
The Clinton haters are merely shrub supporters, unpatriotic, cut and run repukes who are out to defame anyone. Not just a certain candidate, let us pile on and shout them down to the level of smut and lies where they love to live.
Obama eats babies.
Edwards chews weed.
Richardson hates Jews.
Biden shot 3 soldiers while in Iraq.
Clinton is way smarter than MK MO
Gavel is so handsome.
Dodd does Brittney.
There now chew on all that for awhile all you commies!
lol, shadow, obama didn't lead , he signed on to it.
he's a climber with no creditials.. he attacks, but then blames it on a stray member of his group. He's swallowed the bush/rove methods wholesale.
He's NOT a new politician, he's using gop methods.
jerry - will this be the week when you tell us who your candidate is?
From the cited Washington Post article:

'Unions Press Clinton on Outsourcing Of U.S. Jobs

By John Solomon and Matthew Mosk
Washington Post Staff Writers
Saturday, September 8, 2007; Page A01

When Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton flew to New Delhi to meet with Indian business leaders in 2005, she offered a blunt assessment of the loss of American jobs across the Pacific. "There is no way to legislate against reality," she declared. "Outsourcing will continue. . . . We are not against all outsourcing; we are not in favor of putting up fences."

Read that quote, again:
'We are not against all outsourcing; we are not in favor of putting up fences.'

Hillary will send our jobs overseas, if it helps her politically !!
Hillary just wants to advance her Washington 'career'

Union Baby: Is Hillary a 'union baby' ?
or is Hillary a 'corporate baby' ?
Is Hillary 'your girl' ?
Or is Hillary the 'bosses' girl' ?

She likes outsorucing, doesn't she Carrie ?
Do you like outsourcing American job, Carrie ?
Your candidate does (when nobody's watching).

Hillary Clinton, 15 years of dishonesty, scandal and divisiveness

'...the delicate balance the senator from New York, a dedicated free-trader, is seeking to maintain as she courts two competing constituencies: wealthy Indian immigrants who have pledged to donate and raise as much as $5 million for her 2008 campaign and powerful American labor unions that are crucial to any Democratic primary victory.'

Can you trust Hillary ?
Her main campaign advisor, Mark Penn, helps corporations bust unions.
Hillary is advised by a 'union buster' !!

Business LOVES Hillary !!

Tuck - Actually, that's incorrect, Obama took the lead on those issues in the Illinois Senate, check the record.

Van - For the second time, MK from MO supports Edwards.  I know it disrupts your conspiracy theory to admit it, but the cat is out of the bag.  The fact is that no Obama supporters spam this board with long posts full of links like this is their own personal blog; only you do that.
Tuck, 'Clinton realityville':
What, EXACTLY is Hillary's legislative record in the Senate ? What bills has she passed ? What bills has she sponsored ? What policies has she champiioned ?

What has Hillary accomplished ?
We know she voted for the Iraq War !!
We know she supported the Iraq War !!
What else had she accomplished ?
Has New York gotten its' moneys' worth ??

It's funny how the media makes so much of an issue of Obama's lack of experience but never mentions Rudy Guiliani's lack of experience. Obama has more experience than Rudy in national politics.
Tuck and Van must be getting paid by the Clinton campaign to blog.  They are on this thing at all hours of the day!

Here's some hope for the Obama supporters, my over 70 year old Aunt, who is very CONSERVATIVE, is voting for Obama because he gives her hope.  I think he is going to take this thing.  I don't ever believe polls because I have never been polled, and would like to know who the hell they are polling.

And Tuck, can you tell us what your state legislator in Kansas has done?  The average citizen does not pay attention to state politics (the junkies like us, yes, average person, no).  If you are going to tell me about my former state senator, then I want to hear about yours, too.  You are from Kansas, not Illinois, so I am offended that you would pretend to know what goes on here!  Your opinion is baseless.
Wow...Van are you addressing me again...I thought you stated weeks ago that, you would never reference me again.  But that's Ok.  You said Obama's donors would fall off ( Guess you forgot to tell the people last weekend).  That people would stop coming to see him

Obama draws 4,000 to speech, raises $200,000
Portland stop - Democratic contender tells backers: "We're all in this together" Saturday, September 08, 2007HARRY ESTEVE The Oregonian Staff
Democrat Barack Obama touched down Friday in Portland just long enough to whip up local support for his presidential bid and collect about $200,000 in contributions.

Obama, running second in most national polls behind Hillary Clinton, spoke to a fired-up crowd of about 4,000 who paid at least $25 each to attend his appearance at the Oregon Convention Center. .

http://www.oregonlive.com/news/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/news/11892183829750.xml&coll=7

An enthusiastic crowd began arriving about 10:30 a.m. for the Democratic hopeful's 11:45 a.m. address at Santa Barbara City College. They was a cross-section of hip Santa Barbara -- overwhelmingly white, fashionably turned-out surfers, high-end bohemians, college students and onetime '60s activists.

By the time Obama arrived from an overnight stay in San Francisco, the crowd had grown to about 5,000 under one of those perfect, blue Santa Barbara skies. The temperature was impeccable, and the ocean glinted as the kind of backdrop money can't buy -- unless, of course, you can afford beachfront property in Santa Barbara

BTW Oprah wasn't with him..he was by himself.  Unlike someother people we know who needs her HUSBAND to get crowds that size.

Have all of the Unions endorsed yet?

We won't discuss stale/90's style and issue speeches

See you're wrong so much...we don't care what you say...and you'll be wrong about Hillary winning aslo
BTW Van  only a few weeks  "OH DARN"

Are you testifing for the defense (Hillary)?  LOL
FBI Begins Investigating Hsu's Fundraising Network
Los Angeles Times   |   September 10, 2007 11:14 AM

Read More: Breaking Politics News

The FBI has begun examining a murky business venture run by disgraced Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu that paid out hefty profits over the last several years to investors, some of whom were pressed to make contributions to Hillary Rodham Clinton and other political candidates.

Sources told The Times on Sunday that a number of participants and their associates in Southern California and elsewhere had been in contact with the FBI about an investment pool operated by Hsu.

One associate, Irvine businessman Jack Cassidy, said he had tried to warn authorities and the Clinton campaign as early as June that he feared Hsu was running an illicit enterprise, but had gotten no response.

"Nobody picked up the ball," said Cassidy, who was not an investor but heard about Hsu's business from a friend.

Didn't they say they had no idea about this?

Hillary Clinton was "surprised" to learn of campaign contributions from Norman Hsu.

Hillary Clinton was "surprised" to learn of her brother selling pardons during the end of her husband's presidency.

Hillary Clinton was "surprised" to learn of her husband's infidelity taking place in the Oval Office.

Hillary Clinton was "surprised" to learn of various Chinese campaign donations during the 1990s.

Hillary Clinton, often praised by liberals as being the smartest woman in the world, often claims to know little, but is often "surprised".

Van, you appear to be living in a different planet. It's funny that people like you will be posting this sort of comment anywhere for anyone to see. Honestly, I have never in my life seen anyone that is as shallow as Mrs Clinton both in behavior, approach, and character. And yet people like you will come to a blog of this sort and claim thigs that are beyond your understanding. Can we pause for a moment and question ourselves about what Mrs Clinton in comparison with Mr Obama has achieved in all her political life? Let us not preach rhetorics and accuse people unecessarily. It's important that we look at how these two individuals have played their politics over the years for us to truely understand who has been devisive and who has been not. Please, do not throw stone if you live in a glass house. Just name to us a single meaningful bill that Mrs Clinton authored for the past 7yrs that she has been in the US Senate. We can start from there.

I think all of this bashing of the various candidates is ridiculous, and I'm also tired of seeing post after post of the same links & articles cut & pasted from other sources. I read these posts hoping to find out what other voters are thinking as they evaluate the candidates and their positions on the issues. On that note, I am a strong supporter of Barack Obama, and I think he is the most exceptional candidate from either party. I find him to be intelligent and thoughtful, and I so appreciate that he is willing to speak his mind regardless of his audience. Time and again he demonstrates that he has the leadership abilities that we need right now. There are other candidates of merit. Senator Clinton, for example, is clearly very intelligent and capable, however, I have not been able to discern what she offers as a candidate. Time and again I have posted here, and on other sites, hoping that her supporters could fill in some of the blanks--i.e. on which issues is she taking the lead? I don't find her frequent talk about fighting the right-wing machine to be a very convincing argument. Hopefully her supporters have better reasons for selecting her as their candidate.

I agree didn't Hillary say she was surprised to find this out....caught lying again Hillary

WOMEN FOR HILLARY

 WOMEN ARE THE MAJORITY

65% of women vote

82.5 MILLION MOTHERS

152 MILLIOM WOMEN

148 million men
Women vote often.
vote early

VOTE  FOR SENATOR CLINTON.
H P Boston / other than the female thing what does clinton offer? 65% of women vote and about 5% of that (the radical sexist bigots) will be voting for clinton, get a clue, you chicks are pathetic
Any mother who cares about their kids will never vote for Hillary Clinton.
Van,

Why don't you stop suckling Hillary's mammary glands.  Hillary's talk of change is akin to Tony Soprano decrying gun violence.
HP Boston,

So are the Hill-ophiles playing the Vagina card again?
No MK MO you are the pathetic one. Baby chickens are
cute (chicks) they do not vote, women do!
Lazy you can not even bother to look up all the great and awesome things Senator Clinton has done in her life.  You should be so educated and accomplished!
You fail John Edwards with you arrogant, ignorant rants.  Do him a favor and just shut up.
I googled Hillary Clinton and 9-11 and came up with a couple of interesting stories:

One of how her and chuck schumer asked for and got $20 billion for New York City and it all got squandered away, kinda like the democrats in Louisiana have wasted all the money President Bush gave them after Katrina.

Another story told of how Bill Clinton was going to invade Afghanistan after the bombing of the USS Cole.  Clinton said he could not get staging rights in Uzbekistan for an invasion to topple the Taliban and do a hard search for Bin Laden.  the 9-11 commission found no such plans for an invasion.  Bill Clinton talked about this during his meltdown with Chris Wallace on Fox News.

Once again, Bill Clinton caught with his pants down(literally)when the talk of him not doing anything about bin laden.

An you silly libs think the Clinton's can do any better?
Here's some hope for the Obama supporters, my over 70 year old Aunt, who is very CONSERVATIVE, is voting for Obama because he gives her hope.

Why doesn't she go buy some "hope" at the store.

Gives her hope.  What a crock.  This is the biggest line of bs from every democrat.  Hope of what?  Higher taxes, less freedoms (except abortion), and endless treaties signed with terrorists?

Obama is what he is, one of the most liberal senators we will ever had or will ever see.
Oh BTW, HRC is returning $850K from Norman Hsu, one of her major contributers.  So much for the "experience and change" talk.  With HRC, Americans can expect more of the same partisan, stale Washington ideas that have disenfranchised so many of us.
"Higher taxes, less freedoms (except abortion), and endless treaties signed with terrorists?"

Well let's take a look at this line...
Republicans have done pretty much nothing for me money-wise because I am not extremely wealthy, although they did make it harder for me to pay for college.  They took away my freedom to have phone conversations with anyone I want without them dropping in to see what I am up to.  And I have absolutely no idea where you are coming from when you say treaties with terrorists- must be getting your news from your neighbors and not a reliable media source.

The Republicans have sucked.  Plain and simple.  They have sucked, sucked, sucked.  No one's life is better than it was before George Bush.  On this anniversary of September 11th, take a second and reflect that at that time, we could have bounced back, rebuilt, consoled our citizens, and kept going just like strong Americans should have.  The Republican Administration has blown it so overboard, we let that awful, horrible tragedy snowball into the worst diplomatic and military mistake this country has ever made.  We did not succeed in coming out the victor here.  He has tarnished our reputation and good name, and the Republicans who supported him- along with the Democrats who supported and continue to support him (Hillary "the surge is working" Clinton) are all responsible for the black mark in the history books that will be attached to the whole debacle, starting with the day of the attack when our president chose to try and continue reading to a bunch of kids instead of calling the immediate evacuation of the area which could have saved more lives in the second building.  It is disgusting (I know the local people are responsible for those kind of decisions like with Katrina, but dammit he is the president and if he can't make an executive decision to do what is best to save the lives of his people, what good is he?).  Six years and we haven't even found Bin Laden.  Pathetic.

So, don't talk to me like hope means nothing.  In a country that as recently as seven years ago was a great, powerful, FREE, INTELLIGENT, and caring place to be, HOPE and CHANGE are exactly what we need these days.  I am tired of living under this sucky, stupid leadership and paying for every mistake they made with our future and our lives.

And you know what else I am really *&#$ing sick of?  Condescending, self-centered a holes like yourself.  People who don't care about anyone but themselves need to be put down.  The eighties are over:  the one with the most toys doesn't win anymore.  The Republicans today are like a bunch of Paris Hiltons.  They want everything to revolve around them personally and can't see outside themselves.  It is really pathetic and I am so over it and I am also over trying to be the bigger person and hold the upper hand because that is ineffective.

The Republicans will make it easier for the Paris Hiltons, Nicole Ritchies, and Lindsay Lohans to buy their next weapon (insert wealthy car here), but they are making it more difficult for the poor to educate themselve out of the ghetto.  They are too near-sighted to see that when you don't help out those at the bottom, they grow, and they get frustrated, and eventually all that oppression. and violence comes to YOU.

OBAMA 08- It's gonna happen.  Try not to look so shocked and stupid when it does.
"Any mother who cares about their kids will never vote for Hillary Clinton."

Okay, not a Hillary supporter but I don't understand the logic of this statement.  That is ridiculous.  She is a mother, who has raised a really well-rounded and intelligent daughter so what are you trying to say?  You would rather have someone like Bush who's daughters were photographed wasted in the clubs?  Stupidy abounds.

And for Mart Leeburg...I love LIBERALS!!!  So much better than those uptight CONSERVATIVES!!!  Plus, he is not the most liberal senator.  Just google it, you will see.
