Giuliani at today's 9/11 memorial

Posted: Tuesday, September 11, 2007 12:05 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC/NJ's Matthew Berger
NEW YORK -- Giuliani's much anticipated appearance today at the Sept. 11 memorial came and went with little political intrigue. Giuliani, who had been criticized by some for speaking at the event while campaigning for president, spoke briefly of the city's strength and resilience after the attacks. "It was a day with no answers, but with an unending line of people who came forward to help one another," he said before reading a passage from Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel.

Giuliani spoke at 9:59 am ET, moments after three bells were rung, signifying the collapse of the World Trade Center's South tower. Current New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, and New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine also spoke. In a break from tradition, the ceremony was held adjacent to the footprint of the Twin Towers and people involved in the rescue efforts read the names of the victims.

Giuliani was one of few to speak without the assistance of a uniformed official, who held umbrellas for Spitzer and many of those reading names. Giuliani received a smattering of applause as he exited the stage.

enough about giuliani already
was he dressed appropriately? nice evening gown or something
Despite the entire appearance being a mistake, Rudy handled it well. No need fr lengthy speeches on the evils of terrorism and the wekaness of Dems. Good job.

MK:

Rudy doesn't have Edwards hair (at $400 he must be good!)

But he will look good sitting at his desk in the Oval office january 21 2009
9/11 has been used so often by the likes of Bush and Giulliani for their own personal political gain that it's lost most of its original meaning for most people, except for those directly affected by the tragedy.  Bush even ran a disgusting campaign commercial in 2004 showing the flag-draped body of a firefighter (who probably in life had despised Bush) being carried from the ruins of the WTC.  And that was after the Bushites promised not to politicize 9/11.  But of course, we all know by now how much Bush's promises can be trusted.

Whenever 9/11 is memorialized, it should also be remembered that in August 2001 Bush ignored a briefing document entitled "Bin Laden determined to strike inside the United States," telling the CIA official who presented it to him: "OK, you've covered your a**."
The only way Rudy will sit in the Oval Office on Jan 20, 2009 is if W invites him there before 10:30 AM.

First Read- Is there anyway you can put an ignore button on Jerry's posts?  Or at least a collapsible button so we can move past it if we want?
Rudy doesn't deserve to be at a 9-11 memorial, unless it was for himself! He's 100% responsible for all the deaths that took place that day.
jerry if you ever see rudy setting in the oval office it's because edwards forgot to lock the door when he left ,rudy won't win the election, he's as liberal as hillary, matter of a fact I ain't sure they aren't the same person, has anyone ever seen them at the same place, same time? anyway hillary nor rudy play well other than the secular coastal regions, rudy's complete disrespect for christian values are like a cinder block around his neck, no god fearing repub will vote for him just the uber rich fascists
I hope Gigolo Rudy 'G' took a good look at the list of Fireman who died on 911.
It wouldn't be as long as it is, if he had only listened to FDNY "brass" and The Firefighters' Union Officials who told him the repeater radio system didn't work!
Nice goin' Rudy.
....and by the way jerry; you must have gotten hold of some really good moonshine. Because you are halucinating!
Gigolo Rudy 'G' aint goin' NOWHERE, and he aint winnin' NOTHIN'!
Get used to saying "President Clinton" again jerry.....
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
For those of you who are knocking Rudy and backing Hillary, just understand that you are backing someone who was friendly with Arafat, a terrorist.  Hillary also hates capitalism and is looking to turn the U.S. into a social welfare state thus killing private enterprise.
Rudy Guiliani will NEVER be President of the United States!  He could not even be elected again as Mayor of New York City.  The man's own children HATE him and would NOT vote for him.  He is a LOSER with a capital L...a johnny one note named 9/11.  If the Republicans think he can win the White House in 2008, they are a bunch of fools.  Old drag queen Rudy will DRAG them down to defeat.  On January 20, 2009, history will truly be made when President Barack Obama sits down at his desk in the Oval Office as the new leader of the Free World. President Obama will lead this country with integrity and real character.  He will work to unite the American people to find solutions to our problems in a bipartisan way.  A tidal wave of change is coming in November, 2008.  You can choose to ride the wave or get sucked under it!

Came here to read some reasonable conversation and discussion.

Guess I was mistaken.
