From NBC/NJ’s Athena Jones
Clinton picked up the endorsement of the 300,000-member National Association of Letter Carriers in Washington today.

"In the primary elections next year, you can count on letter carriers to deliver for Senator Clinton, and I am confident that in the years to come, President Hillary Clinton will deliver for every citizen throughout America," NALC President William Young said in a statement. Young said Clinton was the best prepared to fight for universal health insurance and to strengthen Social Security. "Hillary Clinton has the strength and experience to deliver the change we need. She's ready to lead this country from her first day in the White House."

The NALC, affiliated with the AFL-CIO, represents city letter carriers employed by the U.S. Postal Service in all 50 states and U.S. jurisdictions.

Other recent endorsements: Earilier this month, Sen. Clinton picked up the endorsement of the Transportation Communications Union, which has 65,000 active and retired members, mostly employed in the railroad industry. Last month, the campaign announced the endorsement of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, which represents over 700,000 active and retired members in airline, aerospace, manufacturing, railroad, woodworking and shipbuilding industries. The United Transportation Union also endorsed the senator last month. The UTU represents 125,000 active and retired members in the railroad, bus and public transit sectors across America.

Won't they be surprised when the first thing she does to help pay for her wonderous universal healthcare is stop saturday mail delivery to save money.
Edwards, Dodd, and Clinton have scored union endorsements, has Senator Obama? If not, why not?
Maybe she should have used them to carry the information on HSU between her campaign vs email.   The FBI wouldn't now have a copy of it.  LOL
good for Hillary
Who cares about letter carriers? After all, stamps have been going up in the last few years. I guess some of their jobs will be outsource soon by HRC to India.
Of course the letter carriers back Clinton, she keeps the mail coming with all those campaign contributions.  This just sounds like a joke for the late night comedians.
Letter carriers have job security delivering all those campaign contributions from China to Hillary.
Anyword on whether the Chinese laundry unions are backing Hillary?  or the Chinese fry cook association?

I'm surprised Hillary is getting any union support, considering she has a guy on her staff that is a union buster.
GooooooHillary! WE LOVE YOU!
My daughter-in-law is a mail carrier and she would vote for a rat before she would vote for hillary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. So you there's only 299,999 who support her. Speak out mail carriers if you are not for Hillary instead of letting a union speak for you.
GO HILLARY GO ! hillaryclinton.com
GO HILLARY GO ! hillaryclinton.com
Great news for Hillary, the first women President for the "United" States. hillaryclinton.com
Give 'em Hill.   hillaryclinton.com
Oh, yeah, public employees. Right now, millions of jobs are being outsourced or lost to guest workers and the answer to that of the public employees and their unions has been to raise taxes. This lazy,  grubby collection of swine are typical of the kind of support an amoral opportunist like Clinton attracts. The next time you're in a Post Office, tell 'em what you think of them. Jerks.
Thank goodness I can invest in UPS and FedEX as many more holiday packages will be shipped by them then the USPS this year. All those on line purchases go via UPS or FedEx Wonder why?. They are private companies that are held to the service of their customers. The postal union is nothing more than an offshoot of the other governmental unions. My post man would never vote for Hill and endorsments really do not mean what they used to. It is nothing more than the leadership wanting a seat at the table.
Out of 14 comments 9 were taking potshots at Clinton I sometimes think I am participating in a right wing blog.
Mike if it were not for those grubby swine you are talking about you and many others would go hungry. Or do you import your food from China.
HIllary Clinton has the intelligence, experience and the common sense to represent the little guys (some of you would say who cares about letter carriers?)and the special interests. She understands the domestic and foreign policy issues that have an impact on all of us...whoever and wherever we are. Those of you who will reject her because she is a woman or because her name is Clinton, or because she is shorter than the rest of the pack----are probably the same 28% of the population who still thinks Bush is doing a good job. Hopefully the rest of us will out-number you this time and get a president we all will be proud of.
Hey Jan, let your foolish daughter in law vote for a rat then....Guliani fits the role well. Your daughter in law is obviously a republican because Hillary is pro union and always has been and always will be.

Jan, Tn;  Living in Tennessee is probable why your daughter-in-law won't vote for Hillary!  It's lonely being a Democrat in the South.
hillary has never been pro-union, she's about as pro union as rudy giuliani, as a matter of fact most of giuliani and clintons positions on issues are similar, which would make sense because the same corporate lobbyists own both of them

"Out of 14 comments 9 were taking potshots at Clinton I sometimes think I am participating in a right wing blog."

another good example of how divisive clinton is, you won't find any other dem candidate as deeply despised by members of they're own party, no one can deny that
Yea Jan, she can vote for RUDY the RAT!!!

Hillary for the working class!!
Warning: This is a different Jan.

Has anyone else noticed that the dumb, obnoxious Loyal Bushies and the dumb, obnoxious Clinton Haters appear to be one and the same people?

I gotta tell ya... Anyone who thinks that coming on a blog and publicly bashing mail carriers, on behalf of the Republican Party, is good for the Republican Party is an idiot.

And, I guess, Jan's daughter is also an idiot.
(But she does have plenty of rats to choose from in the GOP.)

I'm proud of Hillary Clinton and I'm proud of mail carriers and I'm proud of this endorsement for her.
Go, Hillary!
Sorry Susan, but the only (Pro-) HillBillary has ever been is Pro-Self. Nothing else has ever mattered except her own rise to power. But we all get to watch as she goes from pro- to con-, Con-vict.

Hssuuu!  Hssuuu!
Gesundheit.. Hey you got some on your blue dress...
Fascinating!  The Postal Dis-Service which couldn't deliver a pregnant mouse, let alone a letter not pilfered by their ilk, supports the Hussy From Hell.  And just what we need---a lazy, overfed, uneducated, unprofessional, corrupt bunch of illiterates who are extremely overpaid to sit on their haunches and destroy mail teamed up with a socialist who only has one desire and that is to feed her pathological ego.  Goodbye good old USA.
Honestly, I can see both sides of the Hillary Clinton debate. Even her most ardent supporters HAVE to admit she has done and said things in the past that are somewhat troubling. Also, the Clintons have caused themselves a lot of the media scrutiny they have on them. One the other hand, she has proven to be one heck of a politician and she just flat out knows her stuff. I have absolutely no doubt that she could be president of the united states. PERIOD.  The questions I ask myself is she truly the best person to lead the country?  For me, she does somewhat represent the past.  Do we really want to re-live the pycho-drama known as the marriage life of the Clintons?

This may not be fair, but I think the country probably is long-overdue for a woman president, BUT must it be the wife of a former president?  Doesn't that sort of take the significance away from that incredible milestone. Along the same lines, I'm not sure she would be where she is if she were not married to Bill Clinton.  I'm not supporting her for those reasons, but I think they are things to ponder.
And, predictably, lower case jerry goes postal over another Clinton endorsement!  Poor jerry.
Susan – You made an excellent point to Jan.  The GOP field is crowded with rats that her daughter in-law can vote for.  Hope all the Hillary haters saw today’s CNN poll with Hillary leading Rudy – 50% to 46%.  Or today’s Quinnipiac poll with Hillary and Rudy tied in the critical state of Florida. So much for the electibaility argument.

Hillary Clinton – if you’re ready for change, she’s ready to lead!
From SourceWatch:
Mark J. Penn is worldwide CEO of the PR firm Burson-Marsteller (B-M), a position he has held since December 2005........
clinton's top political advisor and a Rove 'wannabe'

... Penn says "the mixing of corporate and political work" is "helpful in cross-pollinating new ideas and skills."...

sounds like the Clinton organization, doesn't it ?
'cross-pollinating'  or 'pay to play'

...The Nation notes Burson-Marsteller's astroturf "attacks against environmental and consumer groups," and its "confrontational relationship with organized labor,"

a union buster !!
So why would a union endorse Clinton ??
curious isn't it ??
astro turf here means 'fake grass roots'
B-M makes it look like 'real people' are against unions and for corporate corruption !!

Penn & B-M's anti-labor work In mid-2007, the dual role of Mark Penn as the CEO of the PR firm Busron-Marsteller and chief strategist for the Democratic Party's Presidential aspirant Hilliary Clinton, irked some labor leaders. The New York Times reported that labor leaders Bruce Raynor of UniteHere, and James Hoffa of the Teamsters union, wrote to Clinton expressing their concern about B-M's anti-labor work. "He cannot serve two masters, working for a pro-union candidate and working for anti-union companies," Teamsters President Jim Hoffa said. .......

Ari Berman, who has written on Penn's PR life in The Nation is unimpressed. Penn, he wrote, is "not distancing himself from the money the "labor relations" wing brings in and the other controversial clients B-M represents in the defense, pharmaceutical and energy industries and the Republican lobbyists he oversees." Berman views Penn's "recusal" pledge is "a phony gesture that fails to address the underlying problems or the reasons prominent labor leaders are upset with Clinton's campaign."

so what kind of union endorses Hillary Clinton ??
Why would they endorse her ??
Hillary "The Number 1 Choice of Rats" That is what the union bosses are, Rats. They no longer represent the voice of their members. They represent the voice of big government and the Clinton's are big government. All you ladies that love her, think about this, your husband cheats on you numerous times has more than one claim of rape and you would, WHAT? Stand by your man?! BS Paublo
Hillary is pro-Chinese money too.

Hillary was the first First Lady to testify before a grand jury. And for being so smart, she sure managed to forget a lot of things when she had to answer questions for that grand jury.

Hillary also looses important documents that show up later unexpectedly in the White House.

Hillary just totally missed that Monica/Bill thing.  The wife is always last to know though, right?  Perhaps she enabled him a tad?  Just think if Bill gets back into the WH, but this time he has gobs of time on his hands to check out the "help".

Hillary voted for the Iraq war because she thought the Bush WH was talking about just increasing sanctions.  Hillary I'm sure gasped in short breaths when she read the fine print.

But, Hillary is pro-union.  Close enough.

When Hillary loses the election next year, she can get back to her day job of carrying Harry Reids water in the Senate.

Hey Jan I hear there is a huge RAT PACK to vote for in the G O P. They are very cheesy and stink to high heaven, she should sniff out the smelliest one!
I find it hard to believe there are still some unions around.  I thought the repukes stamped them all out by now.  Well they still have a year to go so the letter carriers are next.
I'm a letter carrier and I dont endorse Clinton. By saying we all endorse her is a flat out lie. There are over 750,000 carriers throughout the U.S. Don't get it twisted and say we all endorse her.
This is great news for Hillary, everywhere I go people let me know they also support the Lady Senator in her bid to become the First Female President. She has strong support everyone and it's showing now. She has always been pro-labor as is eveident in her work for the state of New York. Congrats Hill!!
They'll only make themselves look foolish come next January and February when they find out HOW little the rest of the country cares for their preferred candidate. Then again, no offense to any letter carriers, but it's not a job that normally calls forth the best and brightest in a society. Most of us aren't looking to their union management to be able to solve any major issues facing the country simply because if they were THAT smart, they wouldn't be working for a government employee service union.
The Clinton haters bash the Clintons  and anyone or anything associated with them. This isn't rational behavior.
Clinton and Edwards have gotten the bulk of the union endorsements so far, why them? The union leaders must have reason to do so, so they must feel that one or all of those candidates are good for organized labor. Anything else would be foolish, and anyone who says otherwise is not being honest with themselves or very realistic.

["public employees . .  . Lazy, grubby collection of swine . . .The next time you're in a post office, tell 'em what you think of them.  Jerks"]

and comments of a similar tone from

"Take this letter and shove it."

I am a 41-year-old male who has lived and worked in many Texas cities (Garland, Dallas, Fort Worth, Rockwall, Tyler, Austin, North Richland Hills) and have been to post offices in all of them, as well as in Ohio while visiting relatives.  I have always had very courteous and competent treatment from United States Postal employess.  Just last week at the main post office in Dallas, I made certain to take a copy of the card with the 1-800 nunber so I could call and relay my compliments regarding the high quality performance to which I have always been witness and the exemplary manner with which I have been treated.  Additionally, the many letter carriers I have encountered have never given me any reason to complain.  I cannot speak for the experiences of you two, but I have frequently told postal employees to their faces that I appreciated the way in which they did their jobs.  As such, I do not share the sentiments of your screeds and believe that they are based, at least somewhat, on your dislike (or maybe outright hatred)of Hillary Clinton (who, by the way, is not my preferred candidate).
I asked my mailman today if he was for Clinton......
He just laughed and said "we don't take the union seriously down here...."
Jan, Once again vote for Rudy the Rat. He even looks like one.
> Clinton and Edwards have gotten the bulk of the union endorsements so far, why them? <

Because the unions are known to bet on the loser.  Howard Dean got their endorsement 4 years ago.
I asked my mailman if he was a Hillary lover
He said "me and the union have never seen eye to eye about politics, I wouldn't vote for her."
I'm a Letter Carrier who can still think for himself!  Hillary? NEVER!!!  FRED THOMPSON, The next President of the United States.  If you are a letter carrier and you don't endorse Hillary then join others in resigning from the union until after the election!!!
First, I'd like to say I am a letter carrier of ten years.  Second, let me say that your TAX money DOES NOT SUPPORT THE POSTAL SERVICE.  We are paid through the purchase of stamps and other services..  Thirdly, our pay is NOT the great widfall-type-pay that it was in the seventies and early eighties.  I struggle to support my kids, and live in the shi**y part of town with no dental or vision insurance and sometimes not even car insurance; and, that is with 20 hours overtime per paycheck.  When they speak of us getting "raises", it is along the lines of .02% each november with no possibility of merit based pay raises.  Fourth, I despise the Clintons and everything they represent politically and socially.  They are vermin parading about in "beautiful people" clothing.  I would not vote for these leacherous pigs if my life was on the line.  Fifth, and most important, universal haelth care is always the second step on the road to TYRANNY.  Ask Adolf Hitler or Mussolini or any of the third world or eastern fanatics and/or communists who obtained power through schemes such as this.  Learn your history, peoples of America, and find out what this really MEANS.  It DOES NOT mean simply "Oh, honey, we can go to the doctor for FREE!!! Yeah!!!"  There is a very heavy price to pay, the price of freedom, freedom which YOU will be responsible for NOT giving to your children and grandchildren."
