Another hit job on Huckabee

The Club for Growth is no fan of Huckabee. The conservative group’s latest attack on the former Arkansas governor comes in the form of an anti-Huckabee Web site, TaxHikeMike. The site contains videos of Huckabee statements, which the group claims as “Evidence.” It also says he’s “getting cozy with labor unions” and cites speaking at the National Education Association and receiving the endorsement of the International Association of Machinists.

“He even received the latter’s endorsement!” the site exclaims. The machinists union also endorsed Clinton, but it said it endorsed Huckabee because he “was the only Republican candidate with the guts to meet with our members and the only one willing to figure out where and how we might work together.”

The Club for Growth’s President Pat Toomey said in a statement: “Mike Huckabee claims to be an economic conservative, but it is clear from his tax-and-spend record as governor of Arkansas and his embrace of left-wing populism on the campaign trail that he is as much an economic conservative as Hillary Clinton is a capitalist.”

The Club for Growth also ran an attack ad in Iowa against Huckabee in the week leading up to the Ames straw poll. Huckabee, who calls the group “The Club for Greed,” seemed to shrug off the group’s attacks with his second-place finish at the straw poll despite his limited resources.

Clear Dr. Ron Paul who is gaining momentum daily is the *true* republican as he says - cut tax, do away with unlimited government spending, get out of Iraq now and let the mid-east take care of themselves.  Forget about Iran, they are no threat to us, and restore our Consitutional rights.
GO DR. RON PAUL
It is a fact that we did elect a President from Ark. not too long ago. Now the media is flirting with Mrs C. from Ark. too, although she has long abandoned them. Why don't we listen to  some new ideas that Huckabee has presented, we sure can't continue the way we are. The club for growth is nothing but a group of millionairs that can't stand the idea of maybe loosing a few of their dollars.  Vote Huckabee
Huckabee has stated he believes in Creationism, that the world was made about 6,000 years ago. This means Huckabee cannot comprehend astronomy (origins of the universe), geology (oil, minerals, glaciers), or anything to do with pre-history, early history, the development of languages. Adults who believe in anti-reason are anti-intellectual.
Ron Paul is a Lutheran man, married to the same woman for 50 years, decorated veteran, flight surgeon, extremely principled man who believes the Constitution is his creed, a man of science and reason.
Huckabee's honor is really the worship of a militarist death cult.  Paul's truth is like evolution, consistent and can be validated. Paul is pro-life in all ways, not just in selective fashion like Huckabee's belief in capital punishment, blody imperial war, but spare the unborn (because we'll need soldiers for our empire abroad perhaps...)
Question for Huck, How many American lives should we lose for our honor? How many tax dolars?

Ron Paul 2008
I agree with "Ron Paul" above.  But as a secular Republican, even I find Christian minister Huckabee to be a good, trustworthy, sort of guy.  I genuinely believe his religious beliefs would not affect the way he governs and he means well for all of America.  Bush has sucked, and the party needs to be what it once was.  Huckabee and Ron Paul are the only ones that provide that.
Mike Huckabee is the real thing, an honest, plain spoken gentleman. I've lived in Arkansas for 35 years so I speak from experience. He is a dedicated civil servant with the best interest of those who elected him in mind. Knowing that a large number of children in Arkansas had no health insurance, he developed a program titled ARchildren First which provides the lower income children of the state with comprehensive free medical care. If anyone doubts his ability to be the President of the US, they simply need to look at his record of governing the State of Arkansas. Economically, his statesmanship in dealing with businesses in Japan, for example, brought much needed opportunities to the citizens, and his promotion of the beauty of Arkansas as the Natural State brought much needed tourism. America, give this capable man a second look, I think you'll like what you see.
If you folks want lower taxes and more limited constitutional government, than Ron Paul is the only choice. Join the revolution. www.ronpaul2008.com
I am a Grandmother. I looked forward to being a Grandmother with as much fervor as raising my children, all of whom I love more than my own life. Every minute I get to spend with my Grandchildren is more precious to me than gold. We cook and laugh and bake brownies and laugh and make messes making things and laugh and we play dress-up and we play outside and we get in the water on hot days and we laugh. I tell them stories of their heritage and teach them songs my Grandmother and Mother sang to me and I answer their continuous stream of questions and we laugh. Once, I slid in to first base and I lay on the ground and we laughed and laughed until I could get up again. On the phone we get spontaneous laughter over nothing, that just rolls. One lives in Delaware. I call it Toofar Delaware. One is almost grown. I stock my kitchen with fruits and ice cream and pizzas and yogurt and apple juice just because they expect them to be here. They're always hungry at MoMo's. When they come through my door I get down on my knees and they knock me over with bear hugs. Two of them pile in my lap and we take a ride in my car (motorized wheelchair)laughing all the way. I don't have wrinkles, they're smile lines. When I tuck them in we say our prayers and I read them stories and I make up stories and sing to them until they drift off to sleep. Sometimes we have to stop laughing. They are in my thoughts and my prayers night and day. I teach them to pray and to know the LORD. Sometimes when it's time to go home we cry. They call me MoMo and Grandma. I call them Punkiedoodle, I don't know why. I am loved. My favorite words in this whole wide world are I Love You MoMo/Grandma. I may not be worth much to some folks but they think I hung the moon. I was there when they came into this world. I hope they are near when I leave.
Thanks MoMo
Selling rank & file union workers on the Fair Tax is easy.  Simply ask how much of their earnings would it take for any of them to buy a $6500 used car if they were in the 28% tax bracket. Considering that FICA takes 7.5% out and IRS takes 28% out of their paycheck before they ever see it, the answer is that they would have to earn $10,000 to buy a $6500 car.

If the Fair Tax was implemented, the same used car would cost them $6500 and they would pocket the $3500 to spend/invest elsewhere.

Yup, 'splaining the Fair Tax to blue collar union guys is a 'no brainer'.
hey S.T.  it was the Republican Congress' surplus.  Congress ultimately set's the budget and the spending.  Dems got run out in '94 because of their shoddy budget management and pork spending to stay elected and the Reps were run last year because of it.
