Oh-eight (R): More on that phone call

GIULIANI: The $9.11 fundraiser idea by some supporters participating in a Giuliani House Party seemed to cause the campaign a minor headache yesterday. We're guessing this won't be the last time the campaign has to distance itself from an over-eager supporter trying to invoke 9/11. Giuliani has a fine line to walk on this. As for this story, was the Giuliani campaign's "unfortunate" statement strong enough?

Giuliani hasn't been to Iraq but Iraq's coming to him. Giuliani added a meeting with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani to his Wednesday schedule. The noon meeting at the Waldorf-Astoria allows Giuliani to continue showcasing his foreign policy understanding and provide an aura of presidentiality, one week after meeting with British officials in London.

Giuliani will head west Thursday for the rest of the week. The trip will focus on fundraising, but the mayor will also pick up an important endorsement in California. Former Gov. Pete Wilson is expected to announce his support Thursday in Santa Monica, according to the AP.

The cell phone call that Giuliani took during the NRA speech continues to get "what was that!?!!?" type of coverage. Even the Wall Street Journal editorializes on the call: "Giuliani has run an impressive campaign so far, especially on the issues. He has a record of accomplishment in New York, and he projects the kind of executive competence that many Americans want in a President. The rap on his candidacy, however, is that his personal history and behavior are simply too strange for someone who wants to sit in the Oval Office. Voters will decide whether that's true, but if nothing else Mr. Giuliani ought to be aware of this vulnerability and do nothing to compound it.”

“‘That was just weird,’ one NRA audience member told the New York Post about the phone interruption. Mr. Giuliani doesn't need more weird."

MCCAIN: The New Hampshire Union Leader reports that a University of New Hampshire poll will also show "that John McCain has gained on front-runners Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani. The GOP poll is expected to show that Romney's support has slightly eroded since the last UNH poll in July, while Giuliani and McCain have gained support. McCain is expected to be within, or close to, the poll's margin of error behind the two."

PAUL: Giuliani isn't the only one with supporters causing him a headache. Apparently, Ron Paul's supporters went over the line in Michigan over the weekend. "According to one eyewitness, Giuliani was beset by dozens of Paul enthusiasts, some of whom shouted taunts about 9/11, including: ‘9/11 was an inside job’ and ‘Rudy, Rudy, what did you do with the gold?’  an apparent reference to rumors about $200 million in gold alleged to have disappeared in the collapse of the World Trade Center towers.

“Ed Wyszynski, a longtime GOP activist from Eagle, said the Paul supporters threatened to throw Giuliani overboard and harassed him as he took shelter in the ferry's pilothouse for the 15-minute journey. ‘It was awful,’ said Wyszynski. ‘Never, ever have I seen such a disgraceful performance.’”

ROMNEY: He had to cut short weekend campaigning in South Carolina after picking up a cold during his latest fund-raising dash.

THOMPSON: GOP analyst Jennifer Rubin speculates on the hard time she's having getting her hands on Thompson's schedule. "You may recall a couple weeks back there was some question as to the extent of Thompson's schedule. Thompson caught some flak once the schedule was finally released showing a light calendar. Well, Thompson's team took steps to stop that from happening again. Now, they don't release a calendar for the week and aren't responding to repeated inquiries as to his schedule. It appears other than a radio show here or there all he is doing this week is some medium level fundraising in Tennessee. Pick your favorite explanation -- insufficient advance team to set events, wasn't drawing overwhelming numbers at events, doesn't like press scrutiny or that whole work ethic thing. The other camps, of course, are taking notice and one chimed in: ‘Probably a smart move. This way nobody can ask Thompson about Dobson, Libya, Schiavo, the Everglades, or fundraising.’”

How come Rudy doesn't have any supporters anywhere? I haven't heard or read anywhere that anyone wants this guy to be president. I've heard people in favor of Mitt, Ron Paul, Hillary, Obama, Edwards, Kucinich, Gravel, Richardson, Huckabee, Tancredo, McCain, and even Fred. I can't ever remember anyone being passionate about Rudy being president. I've not seen one positive article written about him. The only website I've seen about him was about cross-dressing and it was clearly mocking him. Not even proud cross-dressers want him, it seems. His own family hates him and most of NYC says he's a liar and bankrupted them. This observation alone should discount all phone polls from now. They clearly have lost all credibility.
Ron Paul people did not 'confront and intimidate'. Rudy walked up the ferry dock (outside the normal line), went right to the front of the line, where he waited for a few minutes (maybe 10 minutes - long enough for a few folks to get some pictures taken with him). I even grabbed my kids and RESPECTFULLY went up to him and asked him a questions about border security.

Note: The next day, Mitt Romney and Co. waited in line, just like the rest of us Americans.  I'm voting for Paul, but at least Mitt had the manners to wait in line. (see http://9and10news.com/category/story/?id=122506 for coverage on both the ferry ride, and Mitt's Manners).

Rudy was taken, without incident, before anyone else could board, and put on the boat up in the pilot's house, behind closed doors and windows. He had 2 or 3 security people with him, and I believe there were also a few police on the boat too, not mention the above newscaster from 9 and 10 News, from Traverse City, Michigan.  Why don't you, the MSM, call some 'non-biased' eye witnesses - you know there were more than just one person on the boat.

The atmosphere on the boat (with the exception of two comments that I can recall) was akin to being at a WINNING college football game. You must keep in mind that we all just finished having dinner and a special visit by THE true front-runner in this race, Ron Paul, and were feeling quite PAULitical. I was on the upper deck (in pitch blackness) as we crossed the Straits of Mackinac. There were cheers (not chants) of "Ron Paul, Ron Paul, Ron Paul"...sort of like 'Go Blue, Go Blue, Go Blue". There were a few isolated shouts of, "Where's the gold Rudy?" Big deal. What, people are not allowed to express their opinions any more? Simply because Ron Paul doesn't agree with that position, that 9-11 was an inside job, doesn't mean that others are not allowed to think that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SA41dQwvO1c - this is the video shot by my camera - dark but shows the disembarking of passengers and cheering for Paul.

There were NO official campaign people on board - just people who attended the event.  Rudy Giluliani, Fox News, and much of the mainstream media has misrepresented Dr. Paul, his supporters, throughout this entire campaign. We shouldn't have to walk on egg shells (although I'm all for, 100%, being polite, and reasonable).  Rudy can snicker and lie, the MSM can mis-report on Dr. Paul, and America is waking up to it.  Don't kid yourself...Americans are busy, in debt, frustrated with lying politicians, taxes, un-necessary wars, but we are not STUPID.

Just check out the comments on any Dr. Paul article to get a feel for the real sentiment of the people. Just ask any of the other 100 people on that boat that night what they thought went down. I think that maybe even Rudy had fun!  Ruuuuuuuuudy - did you read the 9/11 Report yet that Dr. Paul assigned you last summer?
Oh...I forgot to mention that Ron Paul BEAT Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson BOTH in the straw poll, and creamed them both with the number of supporters on the ground.
- Paul's supporters would never throw Chuckles off the boat: Lake Michigan doesn't need any more pollution, and the steelhead trout might throw him back!

- That cell call during the NRA speech was actually the dry cleaners telling him his dress was ready for pickup.  Didn't this moron know that when giving a speech to turn off his cell phone?  The audience knows this out of courtesy to the speaker.  Shameful that it couldn't be reciprocated in the spirit of courtesy and common sense, of which Chuckles seems to lack both.
Gee, I noticed Bruce from NV is at the usual "bash the supporters" tirade again.  Tell us, Bruce, what makes you so mad to do that?  Why the attacks on us?  Why not address Dr. Paul's positions?  Is it because you can't?

(I could be *really* sarcastic and start asking Bruce questions in baby-talk, implying that's his level, but I won't and take the high road instead!)

Seriously, what in this case makes you tick and makes you ticked off?
I love all this media trying to paint guiliani as a hapless victim, L O L!  This actually makes him look even more like a little girl.  Serves that dilettante right.
That sucks...they didn't throw him overboard?
Nine dollars and eleven cents...I'll give Rudi the whole ten bucks if he'll leave the country. (and stay lefted)
This article is lying about the Ron Paul supporters on the ferry ride.

A simple look into the facts, show that his source is a Romney campaigner who was not even present on the boat!

The videos of the ferry ride are on youtube. There was no inappropriate behaviour. All we have is hearsay that a two individuals made strange comments about 9/11.

The real story is the amount of support Ron is gaining, but MSNBC refuses to acknowledge that and would rather prints lies.
Mitt Romney stood in line with all the other people the next day.  Rudy cut in front.  That's what we, the American people, are to expect from our elected officials?  To cut in front?  Let's put a man in the White House who has respect for us, the people of America.  Dr. Ron Paul is that man!
Will someone support Rudy on this board? Come on, show us you are for America's mayor....

Anyone?
Maybe we should all just call up Ed W. and ask him why he thought it was so horrible that people root for their candidate? I never heard anyone suggesting they throw Rudy overboard from the video clips, but i wasn't there.

Some of these posters were on the ferry so perhaps they will call this man Ed W. for me and ask him politely what the heck he heard/saw and why he is supporting Rudy's (Chuckles) bad behaviour?

Shouldnt he be more afraid of Rudy than Ron since he is a Romney Supporter? Ron Paul can't win, right?

Please be polite if you are going to call as I am not sure this is the same Ed Wyszynski as the article - but how many Ed Wyszynski's live in Eagle MI?

This is from a simple google search on the man - I will try to call after work...

Ed Wyszynski   (517) 626-6319   13657 Hawaii Ave,  Eagle, MI

Let's get out and promote RP in the real world.. .my  mom never uses the internet so she didn't know who Ron Paul was.. When I sent her some facts on the man, she donated $100 - She only donated to AU-H2O's campaign.

It never happened. Check out the YouTube video. Nothing like that on there. Do you trust a Romney activist or a camcorder?
They should have thrown him overboard!

It was 100 in the year 2000.

Ron Paul has been vocal about this horrible inflation since at least 1983:

You are being paid in an inflating currency. Please think about how that impacts you.

Giuliani is simply the wrong thing for the USA. He is a gun grabbing autocrat.
Funny the latest poll shows 2/3 of Americans think the government was either involved or had warnings of an attack on the WTC.
Guess Ron Paul supporters are in line with most Americans.
I wonder where a lot of Rudy's donations come from?

A major reason Ron Paul depends on citizen donations, lack of corporate funding. :)
