Huckabee's $400 haircut

Posted: Friday, September 28, 2007 6:08 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli
Huckabee has just added a stop on his New Hampshire tour this weekend. He's taking Concord hair salon owner David Holden up on his offer to get a $400 haircut, with the proceeds going to autism research. Holden had invited all campaigns to take part after Edwards' expensive grooming was made public earlier this year. Holden said another candidate had expressed interest in coming, but Huckabee will be the first to actually stop by his Main Street Avenue salon when he comes Saturday morning.

"We're pretty excited to have a national candidate come," said Holden, owner of Hair Biz Salon. "We're not interested in poking fun at John Edwards ... The issue really is about giving exposure to the candidates and about giving exposure to autism research." Debra Vanderbeek, Huckabee's New Hampshire campaign manager, said she doesn't know whether Huckabee actually needs a haircut, but wanted to make a contribution.

We're really interested in getting as much mileage out of Edwards' $400 haircut as we got out of the Lewinski hug, i.e., three years of wall to wall coverage punctuated by ambulance chaser commercials. Get on the rooftops. Lean out your windows. Now, everybody scream "Don't forget about Edwards' $400 haircut!" Have a car wreck? Call me. You could get $50000 dollars. $100000 dollars. Cuwl me, the strung arm. One cuwl does uwl. Now back to our regular program...... "oye uwlways putt moi buoys to bad before tan." Yeah, try a seven iron once and you'll never go back to the putter. Okay, here he is now! Bill Clinton hugging Monica Lewinsky! For shame! For effing shame! And this is supposed to be the effing twentieth century! Gawd all mighty damn! Did you miss it? Here, we'll run it again.
So then some good came from it. Thanks, John.
That is a misleading headline on the Huckaabee haircut story. Headline scanners who don't read trhe first graph in full, will link him to the Edwards' haircut tizzy a while back. The Huckabdee should have included the key fact it was for charity. Don't mislead readers for a cheap gasp of surprise.
oh COME ON! This is stupid horrible politics at its worst. You attack on small personal mistakes of politicians you will never run out of ammo, this is stupid
First Read never misses an opportunity to bash John Edwards - but never reveals to readers that many of the candidates are groomed in TV studios prior to on air appearances - and Edwards expensive haircuts were not routine.
But readers won't find that info here - or that Hillary/Hsu donors are losing their homes and savings, per the LAT, due to Hillary's UNDISCIPLINED campaign raking in the moolah from her cash cow.

At least those $400 haircuts are doing something good to help acause!
Donatation to charity, a great haircut, and promotion!
Way-ta-go Huckabee!

Also check out www.explorehuckabee.com.  I learned a lot about the candidate there. The campaign site is www.mikehuckabee.com.

Huckabee is highly qualified to be U.S. President, including 10 years experience as Governor, leaving behing a lot of satisfied voters. (not like the mess Romney left behind in MA) I think, since he just lost 100 pounds, he forgot how to "throw his weight around" in the campaign. I wish he would. He has a lot to offer.

Huckabee and his wife have done the most good for the sake of doing good than any politician I know of. Their list is long. To check 'em out go to: www.explorehuckabee.com
The donation is a great idea and being in NH - probably will be helpful to the campaign...but the John Edwards haircut is old hat and Huckabee's campaign efforts really need to be directed toward Obama or Clinton (frontrunners) or both so he can look to the GOP powers that be that he can win a general election. Hillary will win the Dem nomination and that is where Mike's campaign digs need to be directed. Edwards and his haircut is yesterday's news.
I love it!
All Hairs are numbered and if Hickabees hairs were counted....well he will have not paid enough for the haircut.  I personally appreciate all of the Hair Attention.  Cosmetologists are in the front line for science and research.  Hair stylist never get all of the credit they are due.  From one stylist to another
I want to congradulate the cosmetologist.  The autisum organization will also be grateful.

Maybe this will congress to pass a bill allowing in home service especially for the ill and handicapped.
I will create jobs for many that have the education and certificates to back what they are doing.
Memphis Tennessee is helping out Autisum, Cancer and many others.  Hairdressers help out all charity needs and On behalf of All Tennessee Licensed Cosmetologist Hairsalonhomebound.net want to say THANK YOU for drawing attention towards Autisum and Hair stylist.
