Obama jabs back at Bill on experience

Posted: Saturday, September 29, 2007 1:06 PM by Chuck Todd

From NBC/NJ's Aswini Anburajan
CONCORD, N.H. -- Sen. Barack Obama may still shy away from directly attacking Sen. Hillary  Clinton by name, but in Concord today, he referenced her husband to distinguish his experience from those who have spent too many years in Washington.

"I remember what was said years ago by a candidate running for President."  He said, “The same old experience is not relevant.  You can have the right kind of experience and the wrong kind of experience."

"Well that candidate was Bill Clinton.  And I think he was absolutely right."

Obama toughened his lines on why "playing the game in Washington" was detrimental, tying those who taut their beltway credentials to the deaths of thousands of American troops in Iraq.

"There are those who say we they can play the game in washington. Well we shouldn't be playing a game when young men and women are dying in the battlefields of iraq," Obama told the crowd. "We don't need the kind of experience that leads people into war."

His speech stressed his years as a consensus builder in the Illinois state senate and his role in helping pass ethics reform in Washington.  Once again he would not refer to Sen. Clinton by name, but positioned himself as someone who was free of the special interest influence that could impede the passage of major legislative reforms.

Kind of hard to hide from the truth, funny how lies tend to shrink when brought to light.
Did Obama do that strange chanting thing at the end of his speech, like he has been doing?  What is he saying, I couldn't understand it when I heard.  "Fire up"?  Is that what he is saying?

Anyway it is really strange.  Bizarre actually.
President Obama. Sounds like a winner to me. GO OBAMA!!! You have my vote.
Obama is just more of the same, with even less experience..
he's a political climber who calls other "political climbers"

Go Obama!!! You are awesome!!!
who gives a @$#^who wins the election things will remain the same big money will determine who is elected why do you think we had bush father and son now big money wants thunder thighs so bill can run country again  thats the way politics works
I've decided to become an independent voter, after listening to the The Democrats & Republicans. I've the experience to choose my own candidate based upon years of previous voting. I choose not to vote for any of the aforemention candidates, we can do better America. Just think about the principles this country was founded upon and then render your vote.
Hugh Gray...Join the military???   Become a Marine??? What are you talking about?  Obama is a presidential candidate with a law degree...not some kid who has something to prove.  Please pay attention...in the world we live in today, military solutions are becoming less and less effective. Good case in point...Iraq.  Which leads to a question Greg asked about Obama's opposition to the war.  As a non-American,  I believed the intel was faulty too.  In other countries, the news is more balanced...a different world-view is presented.  We understood the history of Iraq...that Sunni and Shiite hated each other, etc.  Perhaps because of his background (experience living outside the US) Obama was able to use his intuition to conclude that war was not the answer. He was correct.  His world view is what this country needs at this time in history.  If you believe might is right, you should probably vote Republican.
Tom Raleigh...you misrepresent Hillary's comments vs Obama during the CNN/Youtube debate.  She stated that she would meet with these leaders (North Korea, Iran, Cuba, etc)if the diplomatic groundwork was laid out ahead of time, whereas Obama implied that such meetings would always be constructive.  Hillary most certainly did not emphatically assert that she would not hold talks with those leaders.  Go back and watch it again...therefore, your long flip-flop theory is irrelevent.
