Richardson's non-denial denial

Posted: Friday, October 05, 2007 2:20 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC’s Andy Merten and Chuck Todd
Asked today about speculation that he will run for the seat vacated by retiring Sen. Pete Domenici, Richardson refused to entertain the thought that he would not win the Democratic Presidential nomination. "Being a governor is better than being a senator," he said, adding, "But I'm going to win the nomination, so this is all academic."

Notice this is a non-denial denial.

But I'll take a VP position if anyone is offering.
I am surprised that Richardson didn't answer the question with a "three point plan."

The whips a "three point plan" out his caboose just about everytime he is asked a question.

Hey Richardson, My dad can beat up your dad!  I'm sure this is a completely tasteless post as I don't know if his father is still living.  But come on!  My government position is better than your government position?  He'll be eating his words when he runs for the Senate, I guess.
Is he not allowed to continue as governor if he loses the nomination because of term limits?  If not, then why would he want to be a lowly senator?
Pat - Hunt. NY
Why not he has tried just about everything else.

14 years - New Mexico House of Reps
21 month - United States Ambassador to the UN
28 months - United States Secretary of Energy
4.5 years - Governor of New Mexico

It's actually a better resume than I expected to find.
I wonder how many of these jobs give him retirement pensions? All of them? Other perks, beyond a lobbyist?
Richardson is so fake; just another partisan politician.  If not for some Latino support he wouldn't have enough money for airfare.
I think he ought to run, win and keep all 3 positions.
Let's get a constitutional amendment making the presidency a non-partisan office. No partisan politicians are allowed to run.
Wow.  What experience...

14 years - New Mexico House of Reps
21 month - United States Ambassador to the UN
28 months - United States Secretary of Energy
4.5 years - Governor of New Mexico

Where is his "work" experience?  He's been a hack his entire life.

Do we really need more lifelong hacks in gov't?  I'd rather have someone who has run a failed business than someone who has never worked in the private sector.

Ambassador to the UN - yikes.
I wish he wud drop out before the primaries and run for the senate seat. Yes, i do believe he is a spoiler. Spoilers come in primaries and general election(Nader circa 2000). I still like you, Mr. Richardson, but pls run for the senate instead.
He'd be a great Veep.
Our POTUS has run a failed business. Look where that has us.
HE "WILL" RUN FOR SENATOR. PERIOD!
"Our POTUS has run a failed business. Look where that has us. "

Look where it got him - millions, while everyone else took a bath.  SEC - "Oh, I guess we really don't need to look into it."

He will drop out before the Iowa vote and throw his support to Hilary. She will get a 6% bump, mainly Latino, as Richardson sets up his VP bid.  Look for Clinton-Richardson stickers on Prius' nationwide this winter.
Why doesn't anyone tell John Edwards that he run for Elizabeth Dole's seat?  Edwards is far behind Clinton and Obama in money raised and a distanct third in national polls.  Let's not even have a campaign.  Clinton raised the most money last quarter, she should be the nominee, right?

Richardson is running as hard as anyone for President and if he gets the nomination Dems will win in a landslide - nationwide.  When will the Dems learn that northern liberals don't make Red states Blue?  And Richardson will be a great President.  Have you heard him give a speech?  Don't judge him based on the slant of the D.C. crowd.  Watch his speech yesterday at Georgetown University on the responsible path out of the Iraq for the U.S.  Here is the link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur_JRPBDXrY
I seriously doubt that Hillary will give Richardson the veep slot if she gets the nod.  Much more likely she'll capitalize on the greater popularity of Obama or Edwards.  Even Biden has a better rating in the polls than Richardson.  He's done on the prez race, so the sooner he decides to go for the senate slot, the better.
Failed business - where'd it get us?

Maybe spend less time on the political blogs and brush up on your economic news.

Despite 9/11 and cleaning up the mess (Enron, MCI, Tyco, Global Crossing, etc...) from the 90s, the US economy has had record economic growth.

And don't forget the record tax revenues being collected.
