Might Craig be censured?

From NBC’s Domenico Montanaro
Brownback tells Bloomberg News: “ ‘I think there's a good chance” Craig will be censured, ‘but expulsion seems to me probably unlikely,’ said Brownback, 51, a social conservative who opposes abortion and gay marriage. ‘It's a misdemeanor crime. If you look at that in the history of things, it's unlikely that would lead to’ expulsion.”

Brownback also said that Sen. David Vitter, caught up in the DC Madam scandal, should face similar action.

“I think you could see something like that taking place,” he said. “If you look at the actual crime itself and the discussion across the country -- and as a Republican -- this is bad.”

Congratualations Values Voters!

1)Will they cover it up like the Foley page-rape scandal?
2)Will they only go after Craig to pacify their homophobic base?
3)Will they whine about twenty year old Democratic scandals to divert attention?
4)Will they tell admit that they're hypocritical bigots?
5)All of the above
As a concerned U.S. citizen, I'm sick and tired of the U.S. congressional leadership thinking they are above the alaw.  I don't care if you are repubican or demacrat, if you break the law, you should be held accountable, just like ordinary U.S. citizens are.  I'
m outraged over the last decade or so that Congress has one set of rules, (thinking they are above the law, DUI, speeding tickets, health care, you name it) and the rest of the citizens have to pay the price if you break the laws of the land.  Larry Craig got caught, plead quilty after several weeks of thinking about it, avialability of legal counsel, and only after being foung out, pleading he was under stress from his job, and didn't think this thru, I want to change my plea....How many ordinary citizens would love to do that!!!   If you plead quilty to a crime, misadomer or not, you pay the price.  You do not deserve to keep congressional leadership and all the perks that come with it.
Leave it alone. Let the people of Idaho worry about him. They may decide like most NE states they don't care what kind of sleaze their reps gets into as long as he brings home the pork. It'll be funny watching how low democrats will go to try and use it.
A thing occurred to me the other day.  It appears that if you are on the right and not gay, you chose not to be gay. But if you’re on the left and not gay, you’re just plain not gay.
Listen, we Republicans don't care about Larry Craig's hypocricy. We don't care about Bob Allen, Mark Foley, David Vitter, John Boehner, Erik Rudolph, Abramoff, Ney, Cunningham, Hastert or Scooter Libby.

All we care about is keeping the war going, keeping the dead bodies from being photographed, keeping the torture under wraps, keeping up the spying on American citizens, keeping poor children from getting healthcare, keeping gays from getting equal rights and most of all, keeping Pat Tilman's Mother from the truth.

There're two key differences between the Vitter and Craig cases. Craig is convicted; Vitter is presumed innocent by law.  The second is that Vitter's "scandal" happend before he was a Senator, so it's unlikely the Senate would have jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, CVV, you're lack of humor and intelligence is showing. Adjust your skirt.  Bob Allen, you may have a point in your post. Try to make it a bit more coherent so we can tell...
Ah. The values-bloggers-with-a-sarcastic-twist are at it again I see. And none too soon. When was it a matter of official GOP policy to keep ''dead bodies from being photographed"?[when was it an official policy of the MSM not to ever mention awardees of high decorations for heroism}? If we are ''keeping up the spying''on American citizens, elaborate with specific detail bearing upon the events of the spied-upon American as of Oct.5,2007 AD. When was a kid from a family making over 80 grand a year,''poor''? It is up to individual states to grant gays full rights as these are not vested in the Constitution to federal purview except by constitutional amendment. You will instantly observe that many ''Blue''states led by Democrats do not want gay marriage either. Tillmans mother was kept from the details surrounding her sons death by the US Army. Not by ''Republicans''. Sarcasm is one thing, and is a timehonored American tradition. Dishonesty is not. Pass to Craig, and he should be immediately censured. Expulsion will not happen to him any more than it will Murtha, under a supeoena to provide information regarding the Abramoff mess,Jefferson, under indictment for bribery,or Mollahan, under investigation for illegal land transfers
ebc,

That's because the "left" realizes it's not a matter of choice. People are born, who they are. Do you think that Larry Craig chose to be gay? Do you think Mark Foley chose to be gay? Did Deferrment Dick's daughter choose to be gay? Do you think that those young men, being hanged in Iran chose to be gay? Could you choose to change your sexuality? With all of the hatred and bigotry in this country, why would anyone choose to be gay?
Wow! You just can't believe a thing that comes out of Larry Craig's mouth! (no pun intended). Remember when he said he was going to quit? Oops, not any more. Remember when he said he, a US Senator, "panicked" and pleaded guilty. Here's Larry, SURROUNDED by lawyers, and he couldn't trust one to ask. Know why? Because he was OH, SO GUILTY!

To use that old cliche', many of my best friends are gay - so I couldn't care less either way. But the problem is Larry's just a sneaky little liar and he can't be trusted - not even to be truthful to his wife (and tell her he got arrested).

This is all really simple. Larry got caught, now he's lying as fast as he can and he's scum. PLain and simple.
I don't want these kind of family values around my family
Dave, Tn -- I am happy to see that you are embracing the philosophy of "live and let live."  I agree that he and most people with non-mainstream looks, beliefs, and orientation should be left alone as long as they aren't hurting anyone but it was fun to see a hypocrite squirm.
The republicans are the "get even" party scooter got even with Joe Wilson, Rumsfeld got even with Bush for making Condi spokesperson on Iraq (long hard slog) and Larry Craig is getting even with the senate GOP for finding him guilty without a trial and demanding his resignation.
I love it when republicans act like democrats and fight among themselves.
Larry is hoping to get off with a spanking.
Values Voter: that is the dumbest stuff I have ever heard.  Do you truley belive that our president doesn't care that Americans are dying?  Clinton must not have cared or Kennedy must have looked the other way during his invasion in Cuba.  Please stop saying these things because you do not understand how difficult that office is.  It is not Bush's fault that anyone has died.  Let it go, and try to get behind our men and women fighting and winning over there.
Bob:  most likely, they'll just ignore it.  And the Democrats--despite Dave's ironic statement about *them* going low--need to flog this.  Because, it's another typical Repugnican abuse of power.  Enough is enough.  The Repugnicans have gotten away with far too much for far too long.

Oklahoma has hit on something, too.  It's worth noting that the American conservative movement has no gays in its populace--just like Iran.
Here I am, in my wide stance
we're rubbing legs, but still wearing pants
don't be afraid, don't look askance
I'm just a Repug, I'm special, let's dance!
There are many powerful special interests in Idaho -- the Farm Bureau, ranchers, mining companies -- who don't want Craig to go.  Why?  Because Craig's senior position on various Senate committee let him bring home the bacon to these groups.

But I know another Idaho, too (I lived there for a long time); its average person on the street, while politically conservative, also has great moral and ethical sense which transcends party lines.  And I'm sure the opinion on the streets from Sandpoint to Malad is that Craig has embarrassed the people of that good state for too long, and that he should have had the decency to head for retirement many weeks ago.

The Farm Bureau will just have to find another shill.
Bob Allen- I pick choice #3.  Old habits are hard to break.
Hold on a minute, liberal leftist quisling amigos...let us not forget some appropriate reward for Tequila Ted Kennedy, the rapist-fornicator-debaucher-murderer from unholy Mass.  Surely he deserves no criminal punishment but rather the Ignoble "Piece" Award.
I think that we should elect Hillary...and put a sexual predator BACK in the White House!!!!!
"Congratualations Values Voters!

1)Will they cover it up like the Foley page-rape scandal?
Bob Allen, Florida"

Number one, just where did you get the idea that Foley had raped anyone?

"2)Will they only go after Craig to pacify their homophobic base? "
As it should have become clear to you by now not even all Gays support the idea of redefining the institution of marriage to include Gay relationships.

"3)Will they whine about twenty year old Democratic scandals to divert attention?"
Not all those Democrat scandals are that old.You just don't hear about them that often for two reasons, if a Democrat is involved in a sex scandal his party affiliation is seldom mentioned and the major media oulets quickly lose interest because scandalous behavior is a way of life with Democrats.

"4)Will they tell admit that they're hypocritical bigots? "
Hypocritical?
Democrats march in lockstep on practically every issue while Republicans have varied opinions on major subjects of debate, thats not hypocritical thats having the ability to make up your own mind about the issues.

As pointed out so often Craig did not plead guilty to cruising for gay sex, he pled guilty to disorderly conduct with no mention of sex.
Whether he's gay or not the disorderly conduct plea is no indication of guilt to the more serious charge.

The Stonewall Democrats have already proven that the party line is that all Gays must automatically fall into line or risk being outted, thats extortion and something the Democrats seem to be fine with.

Fake CVV says
"keeping the dead bodies from being photographed"
Well CVV:
Why not dig them up and drag them through the streets while you are at it? Keep your grubby paws off the honored dead and show some respect for the families.
It is political hypocricy, and GOP suicide NOT to eliminate Senator Craig from U.S. Senate. He must take the walk as Mark Foley. Who do these people think they are- break the laid down laws, he must resign or be forced out of Washington, DC.

Failure to eject Mr. Craig as a senator sends the wrong signal- that a senator can break the law, convicted, then does not feel the wrath of Senate rule, and American administration of justice. If the Senate fails to eject him, We the people will. Mr. Craig and his conduct remain disgrace to entire Americans, not only GOP, Senate, and legislative arm of our democracy.

This is just like the Clinton scandals, A perverted Washington Paper hanging fool. Caught in a public sh!t house with only his filthy brain.

He and the Clintons have no place in Washington, they have and continue to undermine law.

Do we want this filth back in the White House, Has she not just shown how stupid and self serving she is.

YesAmerica your up for sale according to the Clinton View!!!!!!!
Censured!?  Of course not!  Instead, Idaho put him in its Idaho Hall of Fame.  I think I'm going to move to Idaho.  Whatever they're smoking must be really good stuff.
Probably just putting a big, blue ball over his face whenever he's on TV should be enough.
"If the Senate fails to eject him, We the people will. Mr. Craig and his conduct remain disgrace to entire Americans, not only GOP, Senate, and legislative arm of our democracy.
AFAM ANYAKORA, SEBRING, FLORIDA"
Another Florida voter that somehow manages to vote in another state?
Let the voters in Craig's state handle their own problems. If they want him out perhaps a recall election or something of the sort will be the answer.
Lee Holmes, you are a BIG BABY!!!
Wayne Tn  the republican party thinks for itself alright that is why it rubber stamped every proposal their lordship Bush made.
G: Nonsense. I am rather,a BIG fan of the truth.
