George Allen, Liz Cheney To Spin For Thompson

One of the fun parts of being the host network of the debate is finding out first who the campaigns are lining up to spin for them post-debate.

The campaign with the most interesting spinners on their team for tomorrow's CNBC/MSNBC/WSJ debate: Fred Thompson. His campaign has requested Spin Room credentials for one-time presidential hopeful/former Virginia Sen. George Allen as well as Liz Cheney, daughter of VP Cheney. The other notable spinner for Thompson, since we're in Michigan, is former Sen. Spence Abraham. BTW, for those keeping score, two of the three candidates who finished in the top 3 at the 2006 Southern Republican Leadership Conf. straw poll (hosted in Memphis in March '06) are both now with Thompson. Bill Frist finished 1st and George Allen finished in a tie for third. Mitt Romney was the surprise of the straw vote for placing second.

As for the other campaigns, here are their notable spinners (besides the folks you normally see at these debates):

-- John McCain: S.C. Sen. Lindsey Graham and former Sen. Phil Gramm.
-- Mitt Romney: A Michigan focus for his spinners, including brother Scott Romney and '06 GOP senate nominee Mike Bouchard.
-- Rudy Giuliani: former Mass. Gov. Paul Cellucci (only on Romney duty?) and noted economist Michael Boskin.

Fred Thompson is a George W. Bush clone...except Fred's older and stupider than George, and Thompson's certainly no Ronald Reagan. But given the country's past and current infatuation with actors as presidents and governors, I certainly hope Mr. Thompson doesn't get the Republication nomination. Actually, on an intellectual plan Thompson most reminds of Boris Yelstin, the man who prepared Russia to quickly revert back to a dictatorship under Putin after a short stint as a democracy.

OK all you would be intellectuals Democrat’s, if Republicans are so dumb and evil how come the US economy is up and unemployment is down, we are supporting major military operations on two fronts with a volunteer Army, space exploration is underway and that’s just a few of the positives that have been happing under the Bush administration. As far as the immigration issue is concerned it’s very simple, let them in through registration check points. Photograph, finger print, and DNA profile them and tell then they have three years to learn English and become and American citizen or they will be pickup and deported along with any family they may have started within county. Require them to report in to US immigration every month or they will be pickup and deported, no questions ask and also they must have employment within thirty days of checking into the US.

Personally, I bet that more democrats will be watching the debate than repubs. The repub debates have become high camp affairs. We all want to see how Freddie (his real name) flubs this time. Will, he forget last week's news again? Will he demonstrate he doesn't know simple facts that a twelve year old knows about Iraq, Iran, Pakastan, etc.? Will we see the camera shift to his trophy wife doing her nails in the audience>
