People don't need to hear spin.  They shouldn't need the campaigns to tell them what is going on and what the candidate really meant to say.

I think Fred Thompson just has no clue about whats going on in this country. He probably never seen the Macaca incident coverage and probably thinks that Dick Cheney is so respected that having his daughter speak for you is actually a good thing.

Hmmmm, probably depends on the racial makeup of the audience as to whether Cheney and Allen show up.  It's well known how most of the current crowd of Republican candidates and their surrogate supporters feel about debating in front of, and being asked questions from a non-white audience or moderators.  They'd prefer to skip it or rather fall back on the "scheduling conflicts" excuse.  Of course, since they all mutter the same positions and platitudes we've been hearing from GW Bush for the past 7 years, most people know there's nothing whatsoever new to be learned from these Republican "debates".  Different suits, same lines.

God knows, Anyone that wants to even stand a chance must stay away from ANYONE involved with this corrupt administration! Thompson would have been signing his own lame duck warrant!

Your wording above "The campaign had initially planned to have both here but scheduling conflicts prevented both from coming." without attribution to the Thompson campaign makes it seem as if you've confirmed that scheduling conflicts do indeed exist. Have you?

Sadly, Thompson has not been given a chance to prove himself.  The media is too busy campaigning for Hillary and they will be until November.  (Giuliani of course, has been given a pass since he's pro-everything - gay rights, abortion, etc.)  I'm not sure even CPR would help Thompson's campaign at this point.

I am disapointed that we will not get spin from Cheney and Allen. There is so little comedy on television these days. Fred is a walking disaster of a campaign, I no longer feel sorry for Dukakis or Perot. I must ask a question though. Why does he need spin this early in the campaign? Is it because he speaks without saying anything important or are rebumpkins lining up for a job already. The handwriting is on the wall for Fred, he will be the first to drop out of the race, I would hate to see a new district attorney on law and order. Perhaps we can have a new reality show, Survivors Island, Island of the Lost.

I sure as hell wouldn't want to be closely associated with the murderous profiteers either!

If you want  to see  this country downfall elect a democrat. you probably think this is stupid but mark these words down.

Fred Thompson is more presidential material than any of the democratic or republican candidates have to offer.  We are going to need a true conservative to lead the next four year, some who can rally everyone in this country, his simple country yet his insight to the washington elite will show his strength and vision.  He is the 2008 Regan.

I can only conclude Fred Thompons choice of Liz Cheney and George Allen represents an issue  of Fred's own core values.  As a former electorate of George Allen I only voted for George Allen due to his so called conservative values to oppose Jim Web.  However, Jim Web exposed a few inconstancies in George Allen's closet.  However, I  would never chose to vote for anyone who  didn't support pro-life issues so Jim Web didn't earn my vote. Allow me to review a few key points...  

1) George Allen lied over stocks and the value of stocks when in fact he did own such stocks.  I even called his campaign office which was perhaps the first political action I ever took to discover the truth.  George Allen's own campaign confirmed that George had lied to the voters.  

2) Do you remember the Makaka moment?  Well, regardless of the intent a US Senator is entitled to a few mistakes but his words created a negative turning point for his campaign.  

3) Neocon agenda anyone?  At that time I wasn't aware of what a Neocon was but after self study I have learned how this agenda has hurt our nation on every level.  George Allen was a neocon and supported the global agenda.  

I would think if Fred wanted to win he would choose better leadership then Liz Cheney or George Allen but it appears he lacks the wisdom to understand the negative views both party members portray.  

While I desire to refrain from negative points of Fred Thomspon I'm highly concerned with his membership as a CFR member.  The CFR has an agenda for global views of negative consequences and hopefully the population will awaken to the facts.

It is my hope Fred Thompson will denounce the CFR agenda and support the will of the people.  

I also have spoke to people who support Fred Thompson and they are concerned his numbers will decline after the debate.  One of his supporters told me Fred wasn't very convincing before a crowd.  Some spin doctors for both parties have even stated his first debate will be a make or break it for Fred... I agree!  The sad thing is Fred should have been a part of the Values debate and the PBS debate his excuse only qualifies his as a no show and failed the test and the desire for the people to hear his views.  

Our future president should be at every major debate.... No excuses Fred, Mitt or Rudy!

Most of you can't spell correctly; nevertheless, you rev yourselves up to cast aspersions on two very competent lawmakers - Allen and Cheney.  

Senator Allen had a prior committment to do a fundraiser for a local candiate here in Virginia by the name of Omar Rajah. Rajah had been a loyal supporter of the Senator and Senator Allen wanted to keep his word to Mr. Rajah.
