Obama, Edwards, Richardson pull names from MI ballot

Obama, Edwards and Richardson have all filed paperwork to withdraw their names from the Michigan ballot, the Detroit Free Press reports. Obama and Edwards filed paperwork today to do so and Richardson sent a letter yesterday requesting the same.

Michigan Democrats violated the so-called Feb. 5 pre-window, moving their primary to Jan. 15. But the Democratic National Committee only sanctioned four states to be inside that date – Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

Why do i think the GOP is going to win the White House in 08.  With people like Howard dean running the democratic party, I can see why the democrats are having problems in congress and soon in the presidential races.
Voter suppression!!!!! Why do they hate minorities and the poor? Oh I know they hate the UAW!!! That's why they all preach about buying a preus. :-)
“I’m livid,” said Debbie Dingell, a Democratic national committeewoman and wife of U.S. Rep. John Dingell. “What they don’t realize is they’re not running for president of Iowa, they’re running for president of the United States.”

Whatever happens, I think I agree that most people who don't live in Ia or NH don't really care who's first, and that this jockeying for position is kind of stupid.
What will we have at the democratic convention, THREE state delegations choosing the nominee?

Van
That's a pretty bold move.  As far as I'm aware, FL was the only state thus far to be stripped of its delegates for violating the Feb. 5 date.  Did MI and WY get similar treatment?  If not, they are conceding a lot of delegates to whomever does not withdraw.  Of course, now that they have done it, everyone else will have to as well.

Way to make yourself totally irrelevant, MI!
Yes, good little boys doing what dad (DNC) says.  At least Hillary can think for herself.  When will you foolish Obama/Edward groupies hop on the wagon?  Better not wait too long.

So, what your saying is, Clinton wins Michigan by default.
I'd rather walk.
Really, how stupid are Obama, Richardson and Edwards?  What are they thinking.  Who is running their campaigns?  What's next, telling Clinton that she shouldn't accept MI votes?  The average MI people don't make the rules.  They still want to vote.  These guys are saying they could care less about their vote.  Totally ridiculous!
This is all stupid nonsense that will hurt the dems in the general election.  Why can't Dean see this! Looks like he's letting his power hunger get the best of him.
Jerry (or Chuck in disguise), you are so off the mark today all over these various blogs.  I hope your heart attack on the day after Election Day 2008 is a mild one.  Your predictions of a GOP victory are mindless.
so ... i guess all the dems are going to have to switch registration and vote for ron paul now.

he's the only candidate still on the ballot who voted against the war from the start.

don't forget, you have to switch your registration to republican before december 17th!
Jessica, Wisconsin I agree!
To my fellow Texan Jerry,

As I recall, Karl Rove was predicting good things for the Republican party candidates in the most recent mid-term elections.  Jerry, are you Karl Rove posting under an alias?
(Way to make yourself totally irrelevant, MI! )

Michigan is nearly as irrelevant as Iowa now.
