More on Thompson's cancelled NH trip

Posted: Thursday, October 11, 2007 4:56 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC/NJ's Adam Aigner-Treworgy
When Thompson cancelled his planned visit to New Hampshire on Friday, he may have angered more than Granite State voters. On Friday morning, Thompson was scheduled to appear at a fundraiser for the GOP mayor of Manchester, Frank Guinta, who has yet to endorse a presidential candidate.

The last time Thompson visited Manchester was September 9, when he also sat down with Guinta before going on a brief tour of local restaurants, and after the first stop on the tour the mayor described their visit together as "so far so good." "[Thompson's] demonstrating a certain level of leadership that I think is certainly required of the next president," Guinta said of his September meeting with Thompson. "I like that about him. That's, I think, the most important quality we're going to have in the next president."

Guinta seemed genuinely impressed with the visit, and voters who followed Thompson on his tour of Manchester whispered about whom Guinta would choose to endorse. But after being forced to cancel a planned fundraiser, James Pindell of The Boston Globe reported that Guinta was "disappointed" that Thompson couldn't make the trip, but said, "In presidential politics I understand that things can come up and schedules can change."

Despite being away from New Hampshire for more than a month, the Thompson camp claims that this is not a sign of a lack of commitment to the state -- but rather a scheduling problem. The campaign also said that tomorrow's cancelled visit will be rolled into an even bigger visit in the near future, but they have yet to announce a date.

Thompson, who is busy this week holding fundraisers of his own in Fort Worth and Tennessee, is pretty booked up for the next two weeks with scheduled appearances in New York, Washington, DC ,and a debate in Florida next weekend. That means that by the time he makes it back to New Hampshire -- a state he said he would be spending a lot of time in -- it could be more than six weeks between visits.

Giuliani will need all the support he can get IF MEDIA AND ROMNEY MAKE THIS ELECTION A TWO-MAN BRAWL BETWEEN ROMNEY AND GIULIANI.

AMERICA IS ONLY BEGINNING TO SEE JUST HOW MUCH (Romney's) MONEY CAN BUY, ESPECIALLY IF ROMNEY COMES OUT OF THIS CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN G.O.P. TRY-OUT AS THE CANDIDATE CHOSEN BY CHRISTIAN LEADERS TO RALLY THEIR MEMBERS TO VOTE FOR TO BLOCK GIULIANI FOR PREZ!

WHY in the world, BESIDES HUGE CONTRIBUTIONS, would Christian leaders choose a candidate with SUCH A POOR RECORD as a political leader, as a social leader in Massachusetts? A man who misleads all who know no better to believe he believes in the GOD of Bible-believers/Christians (LDS God is "MAN"-e.g. [LDS]Moses 6:57, 7:35)? (LDS Christ is "AHMAN" "SPIRIT-BROTHER OF LUCIFER"-e.g.[LDS]Doctrine and Covenants 78:20,95:17; e.g.[LDS]Gospel Principles, revised 1979, ch.3).

There is nothing to stop LDS God giving LDS oracles the command to make "President" Romney their "Prophet."

THEN we will have THE FALSE PROPHET of Bible prophecy.
scheduling conflict? Fred needed a longer nap?
:)
Thompson's major flaw is supposed to be his work ethic. Even in the Senate, he disliked working long hours, which I guess made Hollywood a perfect choice- since his role on Law & Order was steady work, but not the starring role.
NO matter..he has little support here...we don't miss him.
Why can't the Graniteheads in the Granite state just cool down and accept that they are just not that important.
Oh, I have to fire my scheduling secretary, Perhaps I'll hire my wife. All you other americans will have to wait while I appease the american taliban, then I'll be in your state to promise you anything you want to hear. Remember, I have a red pickup truck and a slow draw, wouldn't that make a nice presidential picture? Heck, gosh and gee, ain't I a real american.
Dead Head Fred
Freddy you should get out more often.
Perhaps a new minimum standard for seeking the presidency of the USA is called for: You MUST be able to schedule your time and events and are out if you commit to attend a function without first checking your schedule.  Hey, we wouldn't want you to end up missing your own swearing in, would we?
