Paul booed twice

Posted: Sunday, October 21, 2007 9:42 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC’s Andy Merten
Other than Hillary Clinton, Ron Paul has been the only presidential candidate to receive audible disapproval from the crowd tonight. Both times he's touted his non-interventionist foreign policy agenda, he has been booed by tonight's extremely vocal audience.

It's funny, I just posted a blog about how I found it fishy that for the first time in these debates, a Republican crowd booed a Republican candidate.

Fox News is shady, and is a prime example of why America has gone down the tubes.
Ladies and gentlemen FOX news is a travesty to our constitution. Please donate to the campaign and let the MSM know that they need to listen to the people.
Get the real new on Paul here:

I am reading all these comments, one after the other one supporting Ron Paul and his message, and I still hope all these people register Republican and vote for Ron Paul, takes only basic High School education to realize the man speaks the truth while backing up his statements with his own record and our own history.

Let's stop the insanity, by choosing someone who will turn our government into the utopian entity which we would all love for the way it protects our liberties and privacy, respects civil and Human Rights here at home as well as worldwide and finally stimulates the free market to assure us better quality of life.

I'm a Real Republican voting for a The Only Real Republican, Dr. Ron Paul.
Ron Paul is at odds with the candidates who want to continue the war in Iraq.  That is why he received some audible dissaproval.  However, he won the text meesage poll, which indicates weak support for the so-called first tier candidates.  Those first tier candidates also have a problem when Huckabee comes in second place in the text message poll scoring more than twice as many points as Giuliani.
If anybody can beat Hillary it is Ron Paul, given his desire to end the war as quickly as possible.  70% of the American people want this war to end and Hillary wants to stay until 2013.  The anti-war left will abandon her and vote for Ron Paul.
Well I am tired of having to choose between the lesser of the two evils, thats why I am voting for Ron Paul. I have been a life time voting republican and feel that Ron Paul best would represent me. If he doesn't get the nomination then I won't vote for the person who gets the nomination, I am many many others will simply just stay home and then you can say goodbye freedoms, hello president Hillary.
Funny that the audience that had their tickets BOUGHT by the candidates (Romney, etc. had twice as many in the audience than Paul) Talk about stacking the deck.  I think it is ironic that Hannity say FOX's own texting poll was "stacked" because the viewers apparently don't agree with his views. Hmm..do i hear the SILENT MAJORITY speaking? They will in the primaries the true defender of freedom at the ballot box!  Talk about not listening to how your viewers feel.  I see Ron Paul as winning the nomination or else we're gonna lose to Clinton.  No doubt about it I love the Constitution and now I believe Paul is our best chance to preserve it.  Look at his voting record and you'll see he's the ONLY true conservative, supporting liberty and smaller government.
Faux News is bogus. I think all star wrestling is more believable....

All the evidence is documented in tonights debate, if there were any justice in the country the FCC would pull FAUX  NEWS license for Flagrant Misrepresentation and interfering in an Election. HMMMM, I wonder if we can start a civil class-action suit????
Same same another debate another win..ho-hum...The boos were so canned it was really stupid. It was transparent. Fox just keeps digging their grave deeper and deeper into the abyss of irrelevance.
Ron Paul addresses what this country needs to be America again. And it doesn't include an ill advised neo-con agenda..Keep pushing Fox, the people are seeing through your lies and attempts at deception.
I really think people don't understand that our government can't keep printing money to give us stuff---even possibly very good things like getting rid of Saddam or health care.  We're borrowing from China to do these 'good things' and that is a very short-sighted, stupid plan.  Ron Paul is not anti-war, he's just against undeclared (illegal) wars that we can't afford.   We need to first take care of our monetary policy and have sound money, then we can do stuff.

I think That a lot of poor city kids really ought to go to Ivy league schools.  People and banks should just loan me money to send them.  They deserve a chance.  It is the Right Thing to do.  Somehow, eventually I'll pay the money back.  I'll bet I wouldn't have lots of offers for cash---probably lots of questions about my financial solvency and job status!  But this is what we're asking our government to do---just borrow more money to 'do stuff'.

The real question is  whether another Vietnam in Iraq and maybe Iran along with all the myriad of other international engagements we're involved with, is worth the destruction of our currency and with it our poor and middle classes.  There is a reason that gold is now over $700---it is called the dollar is toast.  So, as we pay higher and higher prices even though we're not making more money--We can take comfort in the fact that we're giving "them" hell!  Way to go, America!  We'll show them!  We may be eating Alpo but  it is worth it.  Reality Check Please!
Another fine example of the rapid decline in the credibility of Fox News.  Sean Hannity is a joke and here is a song I wrote that describes him and his relationship with Dr Paul very well.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PG-we657dLU
If the people in the Faux audience are any indication of the rest of the American population, we are indeed headed for rough times. The ignorance I witnessed tonight made me embarrassed to be an American. Ron Paul is founding father material and the candidate of a lifetime - and EXACTLY what this country needs right now - and these ignorant scum were booing him. Unbelievably sick.
I just love it when one paragraph gets 50 responses within an hour of coming up.  Thank you :)

At the last Fox news debate, Ron Paul was giggled at by Guiliani everytime his name was mentioned. At the last Fox News debate, Ron Paul had just finished his statement and people were cheering and clapping enthusiatically, then suddenly it turned into a thunder of boos. What happened, we thought! Well, thanks to a person in the audience with a cell phone camera recording, we find out they put Guiliani up on the big screen.

Now this. What am I to believe? It is the FIRST time Ron Paul has been genuinely booed at a debate. The volume was much louder, the applause seemed supressed. My feeling is that they placed microphones at strategic locations in the audience, and cut into microphones with the reaction they wanted. In fact, there is one point where the cheering was LOUD, then just kind of cut out to booing.

Finally, MSNBC can barely be bothered to write about Ron Paul until this? When we get Ron Paul elected, the free market is going to be VERY VERY hard on you.
Its was great watching the post debate show with hannity and colmes, hannitys reaction to the poll was priceless. it was disturbing how giuliani joking baout blowing up schools is a laughing matter and ron pauls ideas of peace and ending war is booed. help donate to ron paul to keep his campaign going and get him the recognition he needs. www.ronpaul2008.com
Ron Paul wins the debate again. He is the only true conservative. The rest of them are liars, thieves, and crooks. Notice how they're all harping on the themes he has been espousing for years and years ? I live in Florida, and trust me when I tell you that the people in that room DO NOT represent the average Florida citizen. Ron Paul is this country's last chance, and we CANNOT let the mainstream media attempt to tell us how to think and vote.
Having watched all of the debates so far, I feel I can draw several conclusions. 1. Ron Paul doesn't enjoy debating. I believe he has a disdain for fake/false behavior. 2. He is not a natural showman!  Thankfully, he is an honest man, speaking his mind and thankfully that mind is fully trained on the Constitution and what it means to We the People.  I've never seen anyone so authentic.  I watched as FOX did their best to discredit him.  They even failed to mention him in the morning show from the Debate Hall.  I did notice Sean Hannity was more respectful tonight.  I think he is getting tired of being harassed everywhere he goes.  Just my thoughts!
While I was fuming mad during this so called debate, my husband asked me what I expected knowing it was Fox News.  So, now that the laughing seems to be over, our fight begins. How afraid they must be, to go out of their way and be so obvious. I am saving my money for the November 5th money bomb. Power to the people.
When the debate was over and the phone in votes were counted, Hannity was the only one looking stupid, especially since Ron Paul won their poll.  Ron Paul may have received 2 boos from the audience, which in my opinion did not make any sense.  Ron Paul has never been booed before, but then again some of his supporters were not allowed in.  The point is Ron Paul won the call in voting poll, and Hannity still looks and sounds stupid.  Fox is the worst form of media around.
Dose America deserve Ron Paul, someone who will give them what they need and want, fairness and equality. I think not.  If Ron Paul dose not get the Republican nomination then Hillary will be our next president.  I will dedicate myself 110% for Ron.  No matter how much they try to parrot him, berate him, marginalize him, demonize him or laugh at him.  I've had enough.
What a lot of Neocons in the GOP totally ignore is, if they are sucessful in nominateing their pro war mongering candidate over Ron Paul, they wont be able to deal with the 70% of the American Public who oppose this war.
The next president will be Hillary Clinton or Ron Paul, i hope the GOP realizes this before it is too late. Hell will freeze over before any pro iraqi war candidate will win in 2008.
The likes of Hannity, Beck and the others are leading this party to certain defeat if they can stop Ron Paul
The crowd booed a factual statement, which made no sense.

Ron Paul said that 70% of the American people were tired of the war, and wanted it to be over.  For this he was booed?

Don't Republicans want to win in 2008?  I thought they were all worried about Hillary.  Why hand her the election on a silver platter?

Ron Paul is more conservative across the board than any of the front-runners.  Unlike the second tier candidates, he actually has the money and the organization to win the nomination.  Unlike the rest of the Republican field, he is on the winning side of the biggest issue in the election.
Take heed, MSNBC.  Ad revenue need a boost?  Write something, anything, about The Dear Leader Reverend Doctor Saint Ron Paul the Messiah, and the disciples will flock to you en masse!
Better yet, toss up another unscientific online poll, and ALL the disciples will come!

Oh, and MOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
First, you can either listen to–er, read–me babble, or you can read the live-blogging at The Fred File (the official Fred! campaign blog).  They’re also live-blogging it in Spanish here.
I’m not gonna do a play-by-play
Anyone seen the movie 'outfoxed'? You might find it interesting. It explained what happened tonight perfectly.
The way RP is being treated and set-up, makes me work even harder. I seriously hate Fox, and the rest of mainstream media for than matter. We're going to take this the distance...nothing will stop the train of liberty! Ron Paul for President!
What a scum bag network. Not only do they distort the truth, they rig there debates with neo-cons. I hate this network and I hate what my party the GOP has become. Do you dumbass Republicans realize that Romney appoints pro abortion leftists, and are you so stupid Rudy is a Democrat?
Mainstream media will do anything to try and bring down Ron Paul.

If I were the Rockefeller's, the Rupert Murdoch's, and other powerful elite, I'd be afraid of Ron Paul and his message.  Someone who represents the Constitution, the middle class, and traditional American values is a serious threat to organizations like the CFR.
Ron Paul represents traditional American values that include emphasis on small government, economic common sense and restraint, individual liberty, and strict adherence to the American Constitution. Any person who doubts Dr. Paul is doubting the Constitution because the Constitution is precisely what Dr. Paul represents.

I see a lot of shady dealings going on with the media, especially with Fox, but make no mistake--the people WILL be heard (Dr. Paul being voted by home viewers as the overall winner of the debate).
Coming from the status quo crowd, we should take these boos as the loud and clear clarion call for change. Ron is headed in the right direction. We are threatening the status Quo, and we have them on the ropes. Go Ron Go!
I just finished watching the debate and I realized how sad the situation is.  The Republican's number one goal seems to be defeating Hillary.  They think that Rudy has the best chance.  Only person that could possibly beat Hillary is Ron Paul.  Why? .. Think about it.  He is the only one that rallies Democrats, Republican, Libertarians, Constitutionalist and Independents. He gets votes from the most diverse population.  Therefore it is a very observible fact that he is the only one that can steal votes from Hillary or any other Democratic nominee.  Think about it.  The only chance of beating Hillary is with Ron Paul.  Way I see it Republicans have to decide what is worse "Ron Paul" or "Hillary Clinton".  Once the Primary is done there is no one but Paul that can compete with a Hillary or Obama.
Ron Paul will never be considered "top tier" by Fox or any other news organization.  They want to keep the game going as it is.  Ron Paul is a threat to them since their power will also be significantly diminished if the size and scope of government is brought to its constitutional limits.  what would people like Hannity talk about all day without major power struggles in Washington?
Whatever. RP supporters all know that the corporate media has been trying to marginalize Dr. Paul in this campaign from the get go. CNBC does it, MSNBC does it, FOX does it, all of the corporate puppet publications do it. I find it very amusing that MSNBC would actually take the time to write about something so insignificant and about a competing networks coverage. What's up with that boys? This is serious journalism? "Ron Paul got booed", na na na na boo boo...Gimme a break! Your disrespect for your own proffesion is evident here. Dom, Mark and Chuck; The Three Stooge Tools of NBC News political unit. Your unproffesional rhetoric and lack of journalistic morals only empowers us to be more active and diligent in our campaign for Ron Paul, a true statesman in a political world of corruption and lies. Hey guys, I'm going to Ron Pauls campaign website after I'm done here and dropping another $50 bucks in his campaign coffers in defiance of your silly little article. Take care now, ya hear...
I find it odd that the audience members are at such odds with the TV viewers of the debate who clearly announced that Dr. Paul won.
‘War is Peace’, or so think the Florida FOX stooges plugged as an 'audience'. People are waking up. Big corporate America, and the military-industrial political state that we now live in should also understand that we will all be better off by not wasting thousands of billions of dollars overseas—-we’re broke. Yes, we need a solid defense, but these dangerous adventures overseas are too expensive and do not bring freedom at home. The Arabs are not our enemies, our real enemy is the hidden monster that destroys all great empires. It is internal destruction of our liberty and the economic destruction caused through our greed and lack of caring for our fellow man. That is the biggest threat to our children—-not Iraq, Iran or the next boogeyman we create to stir fear in the masses. Ron Paul speaks the truth, which in a time a darkness is like a breath of fresh cool air in the desert.  Go Ron Paul !!
This is the MSNBC site, right? Not the Ron Paul for President site. Which makes you wonder why there is so much support for him here and little objection that he won the Fox debate. I mean if his poll numbers are accurate then why is it that the 2-3% that would vote for him are virtually the ONLY ones who show up at political discussion sites?
Just want to say good job paul supporters hannity has obviously had some run ins with so paulites he show the Doc a little more respect this time not much but more than preveioes debate's.  It's working I've read all the comments not one negative this is amazing I was in the street's of Des Moines at the abc debate screaming Ron Paul's name for hour's with 30 -40 other paulites this is what we worked for over 50 responses in 2 hr.  Keep pushing keep spreading the word keep educating to bring a common man to the white house someone instep with the people.

Side note: Right on Colmes Fair and Balanced
GO RON PAUL!!!!  Fox exposed themselves!!  Hannity and the rest are corrupt.
This is how Fox works, check out this link!http://www.ronpaulnation.com/?p=259
Mark my words, Mike Huchabee only raised $996.000 this last quarter and has now become a shill for Fox to overshadow Ron Paul.
Ron Paul for PRES!!!!!!
Mr Reddy if the pro war anti American people don't want what is in the best intertest of the American people then They need to start looking over their shoulders. We're sick and tired of their bullshit,
we want our country back and will fight to make it happen.
I kind of wish more people would waste their time surfing the internet. I find the internet tends to educate people more efficiently than the news networks.
I am very encouraged that Ron Paul won Faux's texting poll. Hannity tried to discount it as "only fun" but I imagine he must have been downing his nitro pills during the breaks to prevent heart attack.

When Faux has to resort to stacked audiences and discounting their own polls to work against Ron Paul...you can rest assured that his message is resonating loudly and he is doing very very well with the American people as a whole.

I wonder what they will say when he wins primaries?
They booed a statistic.  Ron Paul said 70% of Americans want out of the middle east, and the Fox crowd booed.  What kind of person boos a fact?
Ron Paul won the post-debate poll, so the real audience was cheering for him. The audience you saw on tv was composed of neocon plants. He has always been booed at the Fox debates by the paid neocons, this is nothing new.
Has anybody else noticed that many of the questions and positions of the candidates have changed to include positions espoused by Dr. Paul? Since the first GOP debate and RP brought up the issues of Constitutionality and run-away foreign policy; these issues would not be raised by the GOP. RP is right. The Party has turned Left.

You have to admire the character and integrity of Mr. Paul. He knows these (RNC) are hostile to his ideas of limiting their influence and power. The DNC is no different and both are lap dogs to the FEC who limits the debates to the two parties.

What is interesting is how the MSM seems to play along to try and limit the candidates on the stage by limiting information in a deliberate blackout. A recent straw poll had Mitt win by an excess of internet votes compared to event goers, most of whom voted for Huckabee by a large margin and who came in second place in the straw poll. Ron Paul came in a respectable 3rd and not once was that mentioned on FOX or CNN. There were no accusations of "stacking the deck" against Mitt like they do with RP. Hannity just accused RP of stacking the deck because RP is winning the FOX debate to night. (That really gets his panties in a twist.)

Stay strong Dr. Paul. You are making a huge difference just by being there and giving a sound voice of reason to the call to continue war. You have convinced me, a veteran, who not until a few months ago was a marginal supporter of the war because of the danger from Islam. The danger is real but not quite like most think. Regardless, a wise strategy is to bring the troops home now. Rebuild and strengthen our nation, borders, and liberties.

VRP
When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him.

Glenn, the reason he got booed, rather than receiving the wild applause and cheers he has gotten previously, is that Fox figured out that they had to qualify the people they invited into the studio as pro-war.  It couldn't be anything else.  Public sentiment has actually gone the other way since the last debate.  Bush's approval rating is at 24%, lower than Richard Nixon's the day he was forced out of office.
Good job by Fox in rigging the audience and the selected dopes they picked as a small sampling of voters for commentary about the debate. In the meantime Fox treated Ron Paul with respect so that they would not get blamed for suppressing Ron Paul's support.

I think that Fox and others are starting to recognize that Ron Paul can win. With Huckabee moving forward the pro-war vote will be further diluted leaving yet more room for RP to all the way for the good of the Republican party and the country.

We just need to re-double our support, financial and otherwise.
i watched, both times he mentioned ending the war in iraq, a group of people in the audience booed... not that many, maybe 24-40 max...

BTW he is talking about ending the war and he raised the more money from our troops then any other candidate.
It's not surprising to find pro-war people in Florida.  There's a lot of military presence there: military retirees, war contractors, and lots of military bases.  Lots of poor Crackers who look to the Army as the best job they are likely to get, sad to say.
Not everyone is going to appreciate Dr. Paul.  Judging by the text message poll, his support is growing like wildfire.  He's the one to watch.
