GOP moves to censure Stark

House Republican leader John Boehner just stood up on the House floor to put forward a motion to censure Rep. Pete Stark (D) over the congressman's "heads blown off for the president's amusement" remark on the House floor last week.

Democrats will move to table -- or kill -- the motion. They will likely succeed. A vote is being taken on the tabling motion now.

I watched the vote on Cspan. The Gay Ole Pedophile party will vote to censure someone for saying what they really think, but will disregard & follow there fearless leader over the cliff on anything that will help the American people. November-2008 can't get here fast enough for me. Since the religous right ( The real terrorist) want to meet there maker, lets all buyem some bullets ( maybe spike the kool-aid)& letem have there mass exodus in a proper way. Those of you that endorse Stark's violation of House rules simply because his comments reflact your own derangement should be careful what you wish for. Aside from the fact that the success of America requires its poltical class to operate under a set of rules with respect for the institution they represent, there are many things I would like certain representitives to say on the floor that you may find aa offensive as some of us did the comments by Stark.

I would like to hear my congressman on the floor and accuse the Democrats of trying to undermine the US military and actively seeking our defeat against the islamists in Iraq. I would like my representative to go to the floor to accuse Pelosi of purposfully trying to undermine our relationship with Turkey in order to sabotage our military's efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. There are about a hundred things I would like a congressman to say on the floor that are against house rules. If Stark can do it, so can my representative.

Something has happened to the American Left in the last ten years and it is not good. Many of you accuse your own government of blowing up the World Trade Towers and murdering American citizens for a political end. Many of you root for your own nation to lose a war simply to undermine a President you hate. Many of you repeat, over and over, allegations you know are not true simply to gain a political advantage. Many of you on the Left do not care what is true or not true, you simply want power and will use any means, no matter how damaging to the country, to get it.

Charles, your beloved Republicans over the last 6 years relegated the Congress to a powerless, no-oversight joke while running up ridiculous deficits and throwing the traditional republican mainstays of small, less intrusive government and fiscal responsibility completely out the window. Until the Republican party gets back to its foundations of small government, fiscal conservatism and strict adherence to the Constitution and protection personal freedom, they will continue to lose seats in Congress. While the Democrats are by no means perfect (they are proving to be just as incompetent), they offer an alternative to the rubber stamping, follow the great leader at all costs the republicans have mostly become. Something has happened to America in the last 10 years of republican controlled congresses: the disappearance of free and independent thought by almost all of the Republicans representatives and senators.
