Hillary was for saber rattling with Iran (Kyl-Lieberman) before she against it (Webb Bill).  Just like she was for Iraq before she was against it.  

Notice how Hillary is only saying that Bush needs congress's authority to go to war, not that she doesn't support going to war.  Saying that he needs Congressional authorization is nothing new: the founding fathers wrote that into the constitution a couple hundred years ago.  

Notice how Hillary never says anything of consequence and is always a follower, not a leader, on majore issues?  She is not our best nominee, folks.

Any comment from Obama on this issue has become moot, as he supported a similar resolution just a matter of months ago. In addition, the comments from Edwards are anything but straightforward and honest, as the resolution in question does NOTHING that Edwards is claiming. And to suggest Hillary's vote is an "enabling" vote to war is rhetorically offensive (at best). He ought to read the resolution (which he clearly has not)....He is obviously trying to use the Iran issue to bolster his candidacy by trying to bring another candidacy down, which is unfortunate. He's a smart guy, with interesting ideas. Rather than touting his own ideas, however, he has now reverted to the BS politics of making false claims on others to try to bring them down. Dodd is less obtuse. However, is this was not a political year, he would (most likely) have voted "yes" on the amendment. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard is not a mystery. Ultimately, this congress will NOT give Bush the authority to go to war. The Kyl-Lieberman resolution does nothing to empower this administration. Dodd knows this (as do the others).

The Kyl-Lieberman bill VERY CLEARLY links TROOPS LEVELS in Iraq to Iran's presence, and suggests that the MILITARY can and should be used AGAISNT IRAN if need be. Bill text below, see for yourselves:

"(2) that it is a vital national interest of the United States to prevent the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran from turning Shi’a militia extremists in Iraq into a Hezbollah-like force"
" (3) that it should be the policy of the United States to COMBAT, CONTAIN , and ROLL BACK the violent activities and destabilizing influence inside Iraq of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran...
   (4) to SUPPORT the prudent and calibrated use of ALL INSTRUMENTS of United States national power in Iraq, including diplomatic, economic, intelligence, and MILITARY INSTRUMENTS, in support of the policy described in paragraph (3) with respect to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies;"

If you don't think that supports the use of military action against Iran, you simply cannot read.  Those paragraphs clearly lay out a war scenario using military power against Iran using Iraq as the proxy.  ONE military strike against a legitimate Iranian target will send us to war with Iran.  Iran WOULD strike back.  The bill "supports" the use of military action against Iranian targets at the least, and at most clearly says "the Government of Iran".  Do NOT be fooled.  This bill was not JUST ABOUT The Revolutionary Gaurd.  It tied our military presence in Iraq to BOTH the Rev. Guard AND the Iranian government.

Second, the Liberman-Kyl bill is a NON-BINDING "RESOLUTION", NOT a congressional approval of allowing our war-mongering president to declare war!

Third, I'll bet a ton that those attacking the RESOLUTION and it's backers have ZERO knowledge of what the RESOLUTION actually says, as I do having read it in it's entirety.  NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING in that NON-BINDING RESOLUTION, in any way shape or form, can reasonably be construed as granting our war-mongering president the unmitigated descretion to invade or attack Iran (albeit, no one has ever accused Bush of "reasonably thinking anything).

Fourth, if you haven't read the NON-BINDING RESOLUTION, and refuse or fail to do so, and still continue to attack Senator Clinton, you should be both ashamed and wholly castigated.

I know some are screaming that this authorizes war with Iran.I agree with you now that I understand that this is a resloution and not a law. Everybody step back and breathe. We still have over a year before the elections. Let's just make sure we are all well informed before voting. I do not agree with labeling The Quds terrorist's, I think it does more to scare americans then anything else. But it does not give W the power to invade. We have plenty of other things to worry about.
